Adobe Pro Survey Responses

Hello, this is our use case:
We three 40 question online surveys in the tool, Qualtrics, and we need to create offline versions for participants with limited internet access.  Would Abobe Acrobat Pro be the best solution?
Qualtrics requires the responses to be uploaded in a specific csv template.  Can I customize the export of the responses from the Adobe fillable pdf form to match the Qualtrics XLS spreadsheet format?
Please advise, thanks.

I would suggest you try the trial version of Acrobat to see if it meets your needs (just create a simply form from within Acrobat -- not the online form tool). Each field is given a field name and is saved accordingly. You can save a response (probably sent as a FDF data file) by opening the FDF file in the PDF form and then using the Manage Data to save or append to a CSV file (I think CSV is an option). It would be hoped that you can create the order of the fields to meet the needs of the specific CSV file. You might get a bit better info in the forms sub-forum, though many of the folks will be checking here eventually.

  • Screen Reader Tech responsiveness in Adobe Pro vs. Adobe Reader

    I created a custom form using LiveCycle ES2. I am testing the usability of the form in conjunction with Screen Reader Technology (specifically NVDA) in Adobe Professional 9 and Adobe Reader X. The text fields that are read aloud by the Screen Reader while using Adobe Pro, are NOT read aloud while viewing the form in Adobe Reader. Is there a specific solution/adjustment/edit to solve this problem, or is this simply a limitation to using Adobe Reader with Screen Reader Technology?

    Have you sent up the screen reader in Reader?

  • Adobe PDF Preview Handler Issue in WIndows 8 64 Bit Machine - After installing Adobe Pro 11.0.10

    Hi Guys ,
    We are facing a serious issue with Windows 8 and Adobe PDF Preview Handler . We are using the PDFPrevHndlr.dll from Adobe to show PDF Previews in our application. It is working fine in Windows 7 and Vista and for some reason it is not working in Windows 8.1 64 bit machines after upgrading to Adobe Pro 10.0.10 .  Please help us figure out what is the root cause of this issue .
    During a close analysis we have found that the PrevHost.exe( Windows component ) is failing soon after it is being invoked . Any help in this is much appreciated.
    Regards
    Sree

    Hi Sree,
    According to your description, your case related to Adobe PDF Preview Handler. This is third-party product. I am afraid this is out of our support. Please ask in their special forum
    https://forums.adobe.com/community/adobe_reader_forums
    By the way, after do some search, it seems not working for 64bit machine,
    >> It is working fine in Windows 7 and Vista
    Also work fine in win7/vista 64bit????
    If your scenario is not working in 64bit machine, try to put "adobe pdf preview handler 64-bit fix" in search engine. Good luck.
    Have a nice day!

    My Adobe Pro 8.0 continues to crash.  There is a long error message associated with that which I will post at the end of the message.  I uninstalled and reinstalled along with some other associated programs apparently.  I'm now getting a message saying shBadNewsComing saying that shAuthenticationFailed with the Adobe symbol on it.  My Adobe continue to fail and the online customer service representative would not help me resolve the issue as my version was "too old."

  • Creating a Fillable PDF form with adobe pro XI

    Hi,
    I am creating a fillalbe PDF form using Form central with Adobe Pro XI and I am using the new "add help text" feature in it, but when i save the form as PDF the add help text disaapars. I am also unalbe to find a form reset button to add to my form. How can I create a from with these features. The form I want to make it fillable PDf to emailed to customers.
    thanks.

    Hi;
    Re: Help Icon - The PDF does not display the "?" like the web form.  In the PDF when you mouse over the field and hover for 1-2 seconds the help text is shown in a tooltip.
    Re: Form Reset button (Clear Form) - FormsCentral does not provide a clear form button but you can add it in Acrobat.  You will want to open the PDF in Acrobat and then follow these two tutorials:
    In order to Edit the FormsCentral PDF in Acrobat you will need to read this FAQ: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-3661
    This tutorial shows you how to add the "Clear" button to the form: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/acrobat-x-tips-tricks/quick-tip-how-to-add-a-reset-button-to-a-f orm/
    Are you planning save the form as a "Submission Enabled PDF" and collect responses using FormsCentral?  If you are not, and simply want the responses or PDF emailed back to you on submission you can see this tutorial: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/X/pro/using/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7dd6.w .html
    Let me know if you have any further questions.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • Created an Adobe Pro account but now being asked to upgrade

    Created a new Adobe Pro account to use FormsCentral mainly but today we started getting the following message in emails when forms have been responded to.
    The quota for free usage is 50 responses for the form.
    Upgrade to receive up to 5000 responses.
    Now in FormsCentral I am getting the "Ready for your next form? Get more forms and view more responses with a paid subscription".
    The MyPlan page shows "Your current plan is Acrobat Pro subscription (one year)".
    Rather annoying as we cannot create any more forms at our busiest time of the year.
    Support is apparently looking into it.  But with a wait time of 48 hours ....

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit (6.1. Build 7601)
    Web Browser IE9 version 9.0.8112.16421
    The currently installed flash player version is 11.5, even though I am constantly being told I need to upgrade to it. There are some pages that ask four and five times as any advertisement using flash triggers this alert, so if a page has 5 ads, I get the message that Adobe wants to make changes to my system 5 times.

  • Ive downloaded and installed Adobe Pro XI but can't open it. What do I need to do?

    I have downloaded and installed the trial for Adobe Pro XI on my Macbook Pro. Its on my desktop.
    I can see it, but when I try to open, all i get is a list of files and the option to EJECT!
    What do I need to do to get the program to open? I need to extract data from a PDF into Excel - which looks straightforward enough, if I can ever get the program open!

    Hi Dorothea,
    Please ensure that you are logged in to your system as administrator and anti-virus is disabled.
    Once you click to download Acrobat trial version, 'Adobe Download Assistant' application will start downloading.
    Then, run the application and then sign up with your Adobe ID credentials to download Acrobat pro XI from the available list of products.
    Let me know if you still face the problem and share the screenshot of the message.
    Hope to get your response.

    I was online earlier this week and liked the forms with submit buttons and the Adobe site directed me to upgrade to Adobe PRO XI in order to use forms so I bought five licenses. Just had it installed today and it is now asking me to sign up for forms Central in order to use this feature. What gives? The Adobe site gave me the impression that I would have this feature after purchasing the new upgrade. I would not have purchased the upgrade, let alone five of them had I know this. Am I missing something?

    Acrobat XI comes with the Fromscentral AIR application and the ability to create PDF forms authored in Formscentral. To have more than the free (1 form with 50 responses) level account you need to sign up for a Formscentral subscription.

  • Adobe Pro 8 and Windows 7

    I am trying to set up Adobe Pro * and install it on the virtual XP mode in Windows 7.  However, it keeps telling me in XP mode that an instance of installation is already running.  I restarted the computer, inserted the disk, killed autoplay in windows 7 itself, and then went to install it in XP Mode.  Still get the same error message.  Is it impossible to install in XP mode?  If I only install on the main computer OS and not in virtual XP will I still be able to print to PDF in XP mode?
    Thanks for any assistance.
    Ellen

    I don't have a response and you might have to wait a bit. Not too many folks run virtual XP. In my experience with virtual XP, not everything is available. I tried it for a HDTV that did not have a driver for Win7 and it never would work. So, I am probably not the best one to comment as my luck has not been too good.

  • Adobe Pro 8 using FDF

    Hi all, and thanks in advance!
              I downloaded the FDF Toolkit and added the "jFdfTk.jar" library to my Java Web project.
              I am running a small java project using the NetBeans GUI (NICE!)
              Also, I have Adobe Pro 8 on my local PC. This project is running on my local PC as well but using "localserver".
              Trying to populate a PDF with, for now, only one piece of data.
              Here are the steps I am doing in a Java servlet:
    /*************** CODE START ***********************/
              import com.adobe.fdf.*;
              import com.adobe.fdf.exceptions.*;
              FDFDoc appFDF = null;
              appFDF = new FDFDoc();
              // For testing puposes lets fill the data manually.
              // ...and yes, the PDF form has a field called "Name" (no quotes on the form field)
              appFDF.SetValue("Name", "RICK");
              // Here the string pdfUrl points to the PDF file with the form field on it.
              appFDF.SetFile(pdfUrl);
              response.setContentType("application/vnd.fdf");
              javax.servlet.ServletOutputStream out = response.getOutputStream();
              appFDF.Save(out);
              out.close();
    /*************** CODE END ***********************/
                        The file compiles fine but when I call this servlet, I get an error message from the Adobe Reader that says:
                        There was an error opening this document.
                        This file cannot be found.
              I placed the PDF file everywhere locally on the HD and in the project, and referenced it using the URL/Port info but it says it can't be found. Any ideas?
                                  Thanks again!

    Hello George!
              Not sure what you mean by "saving the FDF on the server".
              The files are being tested on a "localhost" as I do not have access to the actual server yet, so all is happening on my local PC using NetBeans and the Tomcat local server. I also have Adobe Pro 8 on this PC.
              I did try "appFdf.GetFile()" and it returned the location of the PDF file in question that was set using appFdf.SetFile().
              I have some sample code that shows it is also possible to get the file from a local disc using:
              "C:\\RicksStuff\\Code\\printableForms\\test.pdf"  and I tried that. Tried the serverName(), serverPort(), and contextPath() Java methods as too but that fails as well.
              The exact error message is:
              There was an error opening this document. This file cannot be found.
              Th file name is mYform_TEST.pdf. Tried without the underscore too.
                             Thanks to all...

  • Adobe Pro trial expires same day as installed

    Hi,
    I downloaded and installed the Adobe Pro 30 day trial today but when I started it it says that the trial period has expired.
    Whats the problem.

    Steve

    Adobe people sometimes visit the forum, but this isn't a route to tech support. That said, tech support isn't available for the free trial so far as I know... I've never seen any Adobe response indicating anything different than I said, but it's possible there have been private replies.

    Hold down the option key when rebooting, does the Mac icon appear there?
    If not, you'll have to wait for some of the terminal wizards to come and try to rescue your issue.

  • Offline activation Adobe Pro XI

    hi,
    I am having trouble figuring out how to activate Adobe Pro XI.  The problem is that I have a network not connected to the internet.  I have an image that was created with Adobe Acrobat Pro XI which was successfully activated over the internet.  So when I create the new PC, it thinks Adobe is activated (which it is not).  Eventually it will realize it is not activated anymore and ask for the codes.  Then I can activate it using offline activation.  What I want is to be able to force this activation required prompt before it comes up by itself, so the users do not have to contact me once it happens.  I searched the help menu and didn't see anything about forcing this, because Adobe documentation says that if your product is activated, then the activate option will not appear in the help menu.  Any help would would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    JB

    This response "assumes" that you have a VOLUME license for Acrobat.
    The Adobe Customization Wizard XI has a feature called Off-line Exception that does what you want to achieve.
    This feature is intended for enterprises and large firms who have  a VOLUME license.

  • Adobe Pro XI - is it possible to rollback updates?

    Hello,
    I was wondering if there is a way to rollback Adobe Pro XI to before the last set of updates were installed? Or will I basically need to uninstall the software and then reinstall it from scratch?
    Kind Regards,

    Hi Pranav,
    Sorry for the delayed response,
    1. 11.0.04
    2. The HTML is just a questionnaire with the collected responses. The file is saved locally as .html. There does not appear to be any recent changes in the coding, and it just consists of normal HTML tables.
    3. I usually convert between 50-100 .html files per day. These are usually done via an Adobe Action, which simply opens each file in a local folder and saves as a PDF with the original file name to a separate local folder. Manually opening and saving these files also has the same issue. However, opening the .html file into the default web browser and doing File > Print to the Adobe printer to create a PDF does not have the alignment issue.
    Kind Regards,
