Adobe Pro X PDFMaker plugin crashes Lotus Notes

Hi. We are having several issues with Adobe X Pro PDFMaker plugin crashing Lotus Notes 8.5.3 when trying to convert single or several mails to PDF. Either the mails are skipped, or Lotus Notes crashes.
IBM Lotus Notes Support have replied with this when we raised a problem ticket:
The crash occured in 3rd party application from Adobe. From our side we can only tell you that you should disable the following
line in Notes.ini tp prevent the crashes:
AddInMenus=C:\PROGRA~1\Adobe\ACROBA~1.0\PDFMaker\Mail\LOTUSN~1\PDFMLO~1.DLL
If you want to use this tool you should contact Adobe to solve the problem.
So would like to enquire what is the cause of this crash and whether anyone else faces this problem with Adobe PDFmaker?
According to Adobe link, Acrobat X Pro PDFmaker is supposed to be compatible with Lotus Notes 8.5.x versions.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi pwillener thanks for your advise, but our version is Adobe X 10.1.10 Middle eastern, North African & greek version, and the 10.1.13 update does not seem to work.

Adobe Pro xi on my PC is not responding.

If Acrobat will not open on Win 8.1 (I am assuming you are talking about XI or X, previous versions do not necessarily work in Win 8.1), then go to the control panel>Programs & Features and run a repair on you Acrobat installation. Once you can open Acrobat, to go the Help and run updates or download 11.0.09 from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows and install.

  • Adobe Pro XI or Reader XI is not loading thirdparty plug-ins

    Hi,
I just downloaded Acrobat Pro XI and Adobe Reader XI and I checked my plugin with that. But both products is not recognizing my plugins It is not even listing under Help button as thridparty plugins .
However Adobe Reader X was working fine with the same plugin.
Could you please let me know any reason for this?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Arvind

I'm having the same issue, but simply removing the references hasn't helped.
I'm building using the Acrobat 6 SDK and Visual Studio .NET 2003. I opened PIMain.c and PIHeaders.c and commented out the includes for "AVSPCalls.h" and "ADMAcroSDK.h".
There was also a reference in the project settings in the "Additional Include Directories" for ADMHeaders, which I removed. I even moved the entire ADMHeaders directory from the Acrobat SDK folder just to be sure it wasn't using it.
After building and reader-enabling the plug-in, it will not show up in Adobe Reader XI running on Windows XP SP 2, or in Adobe Acrobat XI running on Windows XP SP 3.
Am I missing another ADM reference I need to remove? I apologize if this is a simple question. I inherited this project and rarely touch it, so I'm not as familiar with the entire SDK as I should be.

  • After installing Adobe Acrobat XI, PDMaker does not appear in Lotus Notes 9

    Hi
We have installed Lotus Notes 9 onto our PC (Multi User Installed) followed by Adobe Acrobat XI Standard.
We are unable to get the PDFMaker on the Lotus Notes toolbar anymore.
We are running Windows 7 Pro 64 bits
Our system have got 8GB of Ram.
    Onboard Graphic etc
Did anyone have got this similar experienced? If you got a solution, may I know how you go about resolving it?
    Cheers.
    Simon

First off, you posted in the wrong forum. This is the Adobe Reader forum, not the Acrobat forum...
Anyway: It seems that Lotus Notes 9 is not compatible with any version of the PDFMaker plugin. At least that's what I gather from this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/compatible-web-browsers-pdfmaker-applications.html

  • PDFmaker update Lotus notes 8.5.2

Information for anyone using PDFMAKER and lotus notes we use corp version of lotus 6.5 and then 8.0 recently converted to 8.5.2. I have always used pdfmaker to conver email to pdf for years and when we upgraded it broke. Two key things to get it to work again
Upgrade to Adobe 9.1 or higher
    Here's how I've done it:
Lotus Notes 8.5 is supported since Adobe Acrobat 9, but it actually works only since 9.1.0.
Adobe Acrobat 7 has no Lotus Notes plugin, Adobe Acrobat 8 is supporting only Lotus Notes 5 - 7.
So, if any user wants to create PDFs out of Notes documents using PDFMaker, Adobe Acobat 9.1 or higher must be installed on the machine AFTER Lotus Notes 8.5 has been installed.
The following modifications are done to the Lotus Notes 8.5 installation:
    Added files to C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes:
    AdobePDFMToolbarInst.dll
    ndbPDFML.dll
    Added notes.ini entries:
    AddInMenus=C:\PROGRA~1\Adobe\ACROBA~1.0\PDFMaker\Mail\LOTUSN~1\PDFMLO~1.DLL
    AdobePDFMInst=1
    EXTMGR_ADDINS=AdobePDFMToolbarInst
    One thing to note
    AddInMenus=C:\PROGRA~1\Adobe\ACROBA~1.0\PDFMaker\Mail\LOTUSN~1\PDFMLO~1.DLL
    this might change to
    AddInMenus=C:\PROGRA~1\Adobe\ACROBA~2.0\PDFMaker\Mail\LOTUSN~1\PDFMLO~1.DLL
to verify the correct setting from the dos prompt
use dir/w to verify the correct path
made these changes and now I am back in business hope this helps anyone else who might be struggling with loosing this great functionality .
One other thing my Icons are viewable in lotus notes it works just like it did before Icons trigger and pdf is created happy camper here

Exactly same issue here. Issue started after Mac OS X 10.7.2 update.
Lotus Notes works fine, but menus in menu bar remains unresponsive.
Updates to Lotus Notes 8.5.2 FP4 but did not solve the issue.
If anyone has an idea to fix this without reinstalling the complete software, it will be welcome.

  • Lotus Notes - email no longer converting

I am no longer able to successfully create pdfs (from either individual emails or folders) using the Acrobat toolbar button or the Acrobat choices added to the dropdown menu. All I receive now is "failed to convert" messages with no real information.
IT assures me that there have been no changes in Lotus Notes at our organization and I do not see anything from Adobe updates that could cause the problem.
I can still print choosing Adobe PDF as my printer, but this does not preserve attachments, a critical requirement for me.
Please help. This was an excellent way for me to archive and search my email.
    Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.latest
    Windows XP
    Lotus Notes 6.5

There are no possible triggers that I know of. I was archiving my email once a month, give or take a week, so the timeframe for potential unwanted changes is long.
During that time I know there were Adobe product updates for my CS3 which I allowed. Also, our IT group can push out software updates remotely for Lotus Notes and other software, so all I have is their assurance that nothing changed.
This issue is happening for all mail items, for both the inbox and my user created folders.
Our Lotus Notes administrators will not support non-Notes software and our on-site IT was essentially out of ideas after the reinstallation did not solve anything.
I did find a non-Adobe workaround to export my email to Thunderbird (portable version) so I can at least have a way to archive and get my email off the system and server, but the Acrobat archive was much more efficient.

  • Adobe pro 9 changes printers when mouse moves over printer window

When trying to print an adobe document, the default printer is ignored and the selected printer changes as the mouse moves across the printer window to reach the print button, making it difficult to stabilize the printer selection. Please advise

I have now checked other people in my departments Adobe versions.
I have Adobe Pro V9.0.0, and does not print correctly.
1 person has Adobe XI Pro and prints correctly.
1 person has Adobe Pro 9.5.5 and prints correctly.
1 person has Adobe Pro V9.0.0 and does not print correctly
I have now installed the available upgrades which only took me to 9.2.0 and still prints incorrectly.
I wil try and find the other updates and see if that helps.
    thx.

  • Acrobat adobe pro

my free trial of acrobat adobe pro just expired and i'm not sure what pack i should get.  The current version would be 14.99, but all we need to do is combine pdf files, edit pg order. import/export pgs.  edit files, sign (but no echosign) typewriter option...which one do i want to buy.  Will the 7.99 pack cover all these?

    Hi juan_u75,
From what you describe, you may not need all the extra production features that Acrobat Pro provides. But you would definitely want Acrobat, vs. the Adobe PDF Pack (which I think is the one you're referring to, at $7.50/month). Acrobat Standard, starting at $12.99/month, sound like it would be perfect for you. (Adobe PDF Pack doesn't offer the editing capabilities that you want.)
    Best,
    Sara

  • Flash Player plugin.exe could not be found

    Hi,
since a few days Flash Player is giving me an error message saying "C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Flash Player\Addons\plugin.exe could not be found.
Please make sure you have typed the name correctly and repeat the process." on every bootup. (error message may not be 100% accurate, I had to translate it from German).
Apart from that, the Flash Player plugin (most current version btw) is working perfectly fine. I have done a complete Flash Player + Flash plugin reinstall but I keep getting the error
every time I start my PC. What's going on here?
Oh and I'm running Win 7 x64 Service Pack 1 btw.

Download and save the uninstaller by right clicking the following link and selecting "save target as" (IE) or "Save Link as" (Firefox).
    Flash Player Uninstaller
Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by right clicking one (or both) of the following links and selecting "Save target as" (IE) or "save Link as" (Firefox).
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Save the file(s) to your downloads folder - DO NOT run anything yet.
    Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything else, run the UNINSTALLER to remove ALL instances fo Flash Player plugin.
Run the installer(s) next to replace the plugin for IE or Firefox (or both).

    Hi Vadim
today we have no directly supported or written Lotus Notes plug-in.
Today we reccomend use of a 3rd party tool from Open NTF called Mail Experience:
    http://www.openntf.org/Projects/pmt.nsf/ProjectLookup/OpenNTF%20Mail%20Experience
This plugin can be used to report spam to spam/[email protected]

  • How do I remove Lotus Notes PDFMaker plugin via command line?

How do I remove the lotus notes PDFMaker plugin via command line?  I originally deployed Adobe Acrobat 10 as a complete install to many computers.  I see how to remove this specific feature through the GUI in Windows 7 by going to control panel / programs and features / Adobe Acrobat X / change / modify / create adobe PDF / acrobat PDFMaker / Lotus Notes, but this would be a tedious task to do manually at each computer.  I've experimented with a few msiexec commands after removing Acrobat such as:
    msiexec /i "\\path to msi" remove=pdfmakerforlotusnotes
    msiexec /i "\\path to msi" disable_pdfmaker=yes
Both still install acrobat as a complete install.  Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.  Thank you!

Thank you Sabian, that did the trick.  Here is the command line I used for anyone else having a similar issue:
    msiexec /i "\\path to msi" REMOVE=PDFMakerForLotusNotes /qn
I did this on a test machine with a complete Acrobat installed.  I ran the above command and it removed the Lotus Notes PDFMaker plugin.  I should also note that it didn't downgrade my version of Acrobat and all of my custom settings within the application are still there.
