Adobe Pro X text editing only gives blanks

Hi,
When I edit text (fonts embedded and I also go to proerties to specifically select available fonts) I only get spaces where I type, no letters. It doesn't do it for all documents and it seems to be random (some places in a PDF converted from Powerpoint it will do it, on other slides it will just edit fine).
It does stay consistent: renaming files and reopening shows same issues at exactly the same places.
Any idea what may be going on?

If you get invisible fonts. That usually indicates you have more than one version of the same font. Fonts is the only thing where when a new Updated font is added the old font is not removed.
Go to FontBook Select all Fonts the right hand panel choose one font.
Next hold ⌘ down and type A (to select all)
From File menu Validate fonts.
If any have a Red warning remove that to Trash PDQ.
Next any with yellow warnings resolve font conflicts as asked.
Do so manually and choose alway keep the newest.
when finished The go to edit menu and choose resolve Font Conflicts. Remove any you find.
Now when you go to font you want to use in acrobat the proper font should show up.

Yep. I did some more poking around and found that one. Downloaded it and tried to run it and got more errors. Did some more searching and found a fix for the installer on Vista. Ran the fix and tried the ipod software again. It got further, but then hung up again. I'm still trying to figure this all out. Anyone got any answers it'd be much appreciated.

Did you pause the download or face stability difficulties with your Internet connection? Error 201 indicates that the download of the installation files was unable to be resumed successfully. I would recommend utilizing a different Internet connection. If you are connected via WiFi try a wired connection. If you are connected via a wired connection then please try a different cable.

Hi, My HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus currently only prints blank pages.I've gone through the following troubleshooting steps-Soft reset-Hard reset-3 levels of print head cleaning-Replacing ink When I try to realign the print head, an error pops up saying that there may be a jam, but I cannot see anything blocking it... Continuous Text Edits in Adobe Acrobat X Pro

I just upgraded to Adobe Acrobat X Pro from version 9 and I'm running into an issue relating to commenting an editing a PDF. In version 9, you could simply select the "Text Edits" button and make continuous edits in a PDF (document created in InDesign) and then send those back. Now with version X, I can't seem to find a way to make continuous edits without having to select the tool over and over again for each individual edit. The "Replace (Ins)" icon works, but again, it takes twice as long. You have to now select the text and then select the "Replace (Ins)" icon and then type your change and then start all over again. Is there a way to enable text editing without having to go back and select the icon over and over again which reduces efficiency considerably?

The first strange thing that I noticed was that some of the letters were showing up twice so I deleted extra letters and re-saved my work as I went along.
When I closed the document and opened it up again, ALL of the text was either missing, jumbled, or turned to symbols.
My software is updated. My version is 11.0.10. I work on a MAC computer.
Can anyone help me please? I'm on a deadline and this has caused some real stress.

As PDF is not a word processing file format any word processing like "editing" is not support by PDF (the file format - technology - See ISO 32000-1:2008).
Fortunately Acrobat provides robust touchup capability but "touchup" is far from word processor "editing".

You can't, no, and no. Acrobat is not a word processor, and trying to use it as if it is will lead to enormous frustration and disappointment. Maybe you need to convert this document to Word if you want to do this sort of editing, but don't expect fancy layout to be preserved.

Create text editable PDF for client to edit in Adobe Reader

I would like to create a PDF from either Illustrator or InDesign so that my client can edit just the text in the document using Adobe Reader as necessary (for flyers and business cards etc). I want to set the file up in Illustrator or InDesign so all text is laid out properly where I have the proper tools to do so, rather than using the Acrobat form tool and guessing measurement/layout etc. I have tried exporting to PDF from both programs and then using Acrobat Pro's form feature but it won't recognise any of the fields. I am using CS4 and Acrobat Pro 9 and am unsure if my software is too old to complete these tasks or if I am doing it incorrectly. I have seen it done in plenty of places so I know it is possible, I'm just not sure how.

How to transfer the content of the video to Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 for editing ?

I have an old video camera that is still working. That video camera uses a Hi 8 tape. The tape is bigger that the current DV tape. The size of the tape is something like a tape cassette.
How to transfer the content of the video to Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 for editing ? Being an old video camera, the output doesn't have any firewire or USB connector. In fact the only output is has is the Yellow, Red & while connector (is this referred to as composite).
So, how do I input this Yellow, Red & White cable into the PC (or rather into Adobe Pro CS3) ?
Any established hardware/convertor to recommend ?

For "composite out," only you will need an A-D "bridge" to Capture from that camera. Grass Valley/Canopus offers two really good ones, the ADVC-110 and the ADVC-300. There are others and also PCI A-D capture cards, but the Canopus units get very good reviews.
One other workflow would be to hook your older camera to a digital video camera with passthrough (not all have this and it is being discontinued fairly rapidly in consumer cameras) and then doing the Capture through that digital video camera via FireWire. You will not have Device Control, but can easily start/stop via the mouse and one hand on the switches, or on a remote.

Adobe pro 9 creating blanks

HI, I'm hoping someone can help me out. I converted an excel document (which chooses the page I am saved on to convert) using Adobe Pro 9.0 and then ran my "Flowfile" which filed it into my efiling cabinet. (I am also running Windows 7 incase that is important). When I went to open the Adobe document it was blank / no image at all. It was also blank using Adobe Pro 8.0 to view. When you open the blank pdf document and look at the properties, there is nothing showing on the fonts tab. On the Description tab under properties, under Advanced Metadata the 9.0 document lists Application as PScript 5.dll version 5.2.2
I then used another machine and converted the excel document (which again chose the page I am saved on to convert) using Adobe 8.0 pro and ran my "Flowfile" to file into my efiling cabinet. When I went to open the newly converted document is was showing the page image correctly. Under document properties, Description tab, Advanced Metadata lists Application Data as Acrobat PDFMaker 8.1 for Excel.
When I compared the document properties, the only difference I can see is distiller version and the Application info under Advanced Metadata.
Can anyone help me?

I use tablet pc for education in university and I try Adobe Acrobat X Pro writing text it not smooth text can you have add-in pen input support or support pen writing (smooth)for tablet pc?

If you want to annotate the PDF directly on a tablet, use PDF Annotator. The annotation capabilities of Acrobat are poor. You also have to select the erase tool to erase, rather than just turn the pen over. PDF Annotator works the way you would expect annotation to work with a pen. It is also useful if you grade PDFs on the tablet. The only thing I find annoying with Annotator is that the paging is a bit clunky. You should be able to find an educational price for the package, or possibly your school has it under license. There is a 30-day trial if you would like to try it. Most folks here would not dream of annotating with Acrobat for the same reasons you have found.
