Adobe Pro XI; expandable answer box

I have Adobe Pro XI; and I am trying to make it so my answer box expands as needed.  I've tried clicking on multi-line and scroll long text but entered data goes off screen and does not printAdobe Pro X

This is not possible in a PDF form created in Acrobat.

When editing a large document and attempting to extract pages, I lost the thumbnail view of those particular pages (they've turned to blank on the left-hand side) and there is a wide, grey box with small white squares in the center that seems to be functioning as a place holder for where those pages used to be.

FYI - This regression has been filed here: http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/SDK-31989

  • How do I place a free-form text box in Adobe Pro XI?

I am working in Adobe Pro XI, and am creating a form. The software auto-formats the location of text boxes and fields. Is there a way to manually place the location of this field?

Update - This is using FormCentral which opened from Adobe XI Pro.

    Hi David,

  • Adobe Pro 9.0 crashes on menu button clicks in Citrix

This bug is occuring while using Adobe Acrobat Professional 9.0 using Citrix MetaFrame Presentation server as a remote application. I have already posted this on the Citrix forums, but it might be worth a shot posting here to see if anyone can help.
This may sound like an oddball problem, and it is, but Adobe Acrobat 9.0  crashes whenever you click on any of the quick menu options. We have  found a few ways around this issue, but some of the features eventually
bring you to a command that as soon as you click on it, the program crashes.
There is no error message, the program just disappears. I am able  to run Adobe Pro just fine on the console, with all of the buttons  working normally. But when accessed through the MetaFrame Presentation Server, it seems like the connection isn't functioning at 100%. Sometimes even right-clicking on a certain box will close the program.
One specific example, (the reason I can no longer dodge the problem) is the "Combine PDFs" feature. Obviously, clicking the "Combine" menu button will crash the program. But the same action is accessible  through the file menu. However once you have that command open, the  "Add File" button is the only way to select which files you wish to  combine, and this button crashes the program. Now that I have no choice  being that there is a feature our users need but cannot use, I am  posting this question because my need is dire.
I have done many hours of research on this issue, and haven't had any luck. I've already tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Pro, making sure it has the latest updates, etc. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,

frstrsystemI make a fix, here it is:
    1) I launch acropro 9 on the server, I go to the view->toolbars->tasks menu to  the "tasks" toolbar (which cause the crash).
    2) on the server, run regedit and go to current user\software\adobe\adobe acrobat\9.0 and export this hive on a file like acrobat9_user.reg
    3) create a acro9pro.cmd file with
    regedit /S n:\scripts\acrobat9pro_user.reg
    @start "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\" Acrobat.exe
save this file on the server
publish your app and call the CMD instead of the acrobat file
trick; you can map drive into the cmd so that user can access network shares and not only the server on.

  • I have downloaded adobe pro XI, but when I open a pdf (in or out of Endnote) it still defaults to adobe reader

How do I get my pdfs to open in adobe pro and not reader, including in endnote?

    Hi Canuck,
To make Adobe Acrobat XI the default viewer for viewing PDF files, follow these steps:
    1. Right-Click on any PDF file.
    2. From the menu that appears, Select Open With -> Choose Program
    3. Now browse and select Adobe Acrobat X from the available programs
    4. Check the Check box present at the bottom of the list that says "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" and press OK.
The default PDF viewer should change for you. If you need further assistance in this regard, browser to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307859.
Do let me know if this information helped you.

  • Help!!! LC designer  8.2 and properties access in Adobe Pro 9

    Hello
I have made a PDF in Designer but when i saved it and opened it with Adobe Pro 9, i don't have anymore Access to the page Properties./Initial view even if there is no protection on the PDF. and i need to keep an access to hide the "purple taskbar" where there is the "Sent" button.
Adobe put this button when you are using Acrobat.com to diffuse your PDF
i don't want it when we open the PDF with Reader
Do you know how to keep an access or to disable this taskbar
    Thanks

The banner at the top of the screen is called the Document Message Bar (DMB), it is purple for forms, and blue for certified or signed documents.
The document message bar can only be turned off by changing the program preferences.  You can NOT script the DMB per form.
In Acrobat or Reader, you can go to Edit --> Preferences, Locate the Forms category and check the box "Always hide forms document message bar".  Turning this off in Acrobat does not turn it off in Reader, each applications preferences are independent.

  • Using Adobe Pro X I cannot create a PDF from a web page.

After a recent upgrade from a previous version of Firefox, I am now unable to create a PDF from a web page using the Adobe Pro toolbar on the web page.  A "save as" box appears and then the conversion process dies.  I can print the page using Adobe Pro as my printer and it works fine. I can create other docs with Adobe Pro.   How do I fix this on my browser?
    Thanks.

  • Disabling open pdf in browser in adobe PRO XI not reader

I have deployed adobe pro out to our user base and i understand in adobe PRO X there was a check box that would disable open pdf in a browser but that has gone away. I have gone under the preferences and on the internet section in PRO XI there is a link that takes you
here: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/display-pdf-browser-acrobat-xi.html I have created a GPO that disables the active X control in both IE 8 and IE 10 as you can see from this screen shot the adobe pdf reader is disabled so according to the instructions on the web all pdf files should open in PRO XI. This is not the case. The pdf will still open in the browser. I have checked the new customizations wizzard for adobe PRO XI and there is nothing to disable disply pdf in the browser to uncheck that i am aware of. I have read about the bdisablewebintegration but this have not worked either under the FeatureLockDown. In adobe reader you can go under the accessibilty options and disable open within a browser there but I have been unable to find that option in PRO XI. Had anyone found a fix for this issue to where it can be deployed out?
    Please let me know
    Thanks

From the screenshot it looks like you have both Acrobat and Reader on the machine and only Reader is disabled.
Check again. If you think the doc is incorrect, post back.
    --- more info ---
All browser integration prefs were deprecated with 11.x because browser companies are releasing new versions every 6 weeks or more. It was simply not possible to keep pace without requiring admins to update every few weeks. Moreover, most browsers are gradually phasing out such plugins or at least disable them by default (e.g. Chrome). Many companies provide a browser-specific PDF viewer. Acrobat and Reader share the same config and there's nothing different between the two.

  • I recently retired and stopped my subscription to Adobe Pro.  Now I cannot open a pdf document as an attachment in an email.  Can you please advise as to how to correct this problem?

I recently retired and stopped my subscription toe Adobe Pro.  Now I cannot open a pdf attachment in an email with Adobe Reader.  How can I solve this issue?

OK. Then the next thing to try is to right-click a PDF file, select Open With, Choose Default Program, then select Reader from the list and tick the "Always use this application..." box, and click OK.

  • Not able to sign a document with Adobe Pro X, XI

Every once in awhile I am getting an issue with Adobe Pro X and Adobe Pro XI when trying to sign a .pdf. The document looks OK, the first signer places a signature. The second signer starts with drawing the new signature rectangle, enters the password, in the next moment the box disappears and the signature disappeared completely - it will take two or three tries before the signature "sticks". What could be the reason?

OK, I figured it out. Have to use pro to enable signing of the documents....

  • How to correct bad PDF display of Excel 2007 graph-Adobe Pro X?

Just installed Adobe Acrobat Pro X; previously had Adobe Pro 8, which worked fine.  Have Excel 2007 files with an Excel graph and a JPG image on the spreadsheet tab.  Both the graph and the JPG are too big, are displaced, and hide spreadsheet data, when the Excel file is Saved As a PDF using Adobe Pro dialog or Excel dialog, or the Excel Plug-In to Create PDF.  For some strange reason, printing to PDF works, although that is limiting.  All of the settings are the same for the Adobe Printer as Adobe Pro settings.  Changing them or going to default did not help.  Just did the latest update; that did not help.
The graph and JPG are too large for the PDF page.  Paper printing from Excel still works fine. Producing a PDF on another machine with Pro 8 still works fine.  Could not find this problem discussed anywhere.  Using XP, fully patched.  This should not be a complicated process, nor a complex spreadsheet. What is going on?
    Thanks

Regardless of the method and Adobe product used to create the PDF, including the Excel tool button, the single common factor whether the PDF correctly displays a JPG or graph in the Excel file that is being done at anything other than 100% size is whether the Adobe Printer or a Physical Printer is selected as the default printer in the Windows Printers and Faxes-Settings.  This is true even though the printer is not being used. I have created the same PDF using every method/product and the results are always the same, and only properly display when either the setting is 100% size or the system printer is selected as Adobe Printer.  This is true only after installing Adobe X (8 was previously installed, and worked as expected).

You say the settings for the printer work fine, but do not for PDF Maker (I am assuming this is what you meant). PDF Maker no longer uses the printer and the settings are independent. Check the settings for PDF Maker under the create PDF menu.

  • Adobe Pro 9 Property Bar issue - No Current Selection

I'm using AP9 Extended. For some reason when I click on Ctrl + E the Property Bar will not display. I get a "No current selection" on one of the bars that are activated. It appears that the only way I can get the Property Bar to display is by highlighting text within a text box that I've created. Once the text is highlighted the Property Bar will display and provide the opportunity to modify text but it will not remain active when I load another .pdf and I have to repeat this "manual process".
Question: Did Adobe make it this way or is it a glitch?
I never had this problem with Adobe Pro 7 or 8.
    I'm using XP Home SP3.

I'm not sure if it applies to you, but when I have two (or more) copies of acrobat open I too get "no current selection" & greyed out problems
    See http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/851/cpsid_85102.html
it also seems to lead to the "invalid annotation object" problems
