Adobe Products (CC) Freezing up computer entirely

Can't move the mouse at all, can't CTRL-ALT-DEL.  I have to restart the computer with the reset button.
This happened a few times a few days ago, and stopped after Windows 8 reverted it back to a state where it previously loaded.  I was able to use adobe CC products fine.
Then 2 days later, the same thing again; and both times it started when I tried using After Effects CC.
I'm only able to post this as I have to quickly CTRL/ALT/DEL and kill all adobe processes, because after a few seconds, "Updates To Creative Cloud Manager" pops up on the system tray and then freezes the computer entirely..
I tried installing the update, but once it starts installing, it freezes the computer.
I'm using Windows 8 (up to date) 64 bit, 16gb ram.. Help?
EDIT:
I was able to launch Creative Cloud by following the steps in the 2nd post of this thread:
http://forums.adobe.com/message/5484303#5484303#5484303
I've updated the CC application, and now I'm updating After Effects.  I'll report back if this does not solve the problem.
Thanks.

That dvd stuff is sorta standardized ( is supposed to be technically very tight re: code and creation of dvd )..and is actually owned ( copyrighted or patented or whatever you call it ). In other words, every single program that burns DVD's is supposed to handle the creation the same way according to standard.
It's not a matter of a person 'choosing' to do something one way or another when using the program to burn a DVD. It is more a matter of how the 'program' to burn dvd has implemented the standard.  Believe it or not.. there is some leeway in there due to translation from Japanese to English and so on... some programs to burn dvd do a better job than others...but the basics are the same. No 'user' of the program to burn dvd has any control over that.. the program is the thing.
I'm glad you got the video and sound portion of your vob file.. good going. it's like you became a video forensic expert !

  • Acrobat reader, and indeed all adobe products are freezing and crashing on print hellllp !

    Well,  I'm flummoxed.
Everything was working fine.. right up till I had to do some driver work to get my scanner to work -  now I can't seem to print from any Adobe product.
I click print -  the program freezes, stops responding and in the case of Acrobat reader, crashes.. in the case of Indesign CS4 - I have to stop the process in Task manager,  in the case of Fireworks CS3 - I think it just crashes. ,  Printing a pdf hangs and crashes inside of Firefox and IE browsers too.
My printer works..  I can print from MS Word, I can print a photo directly by right clicking on a file and choosing Print.   But when I try it in an adobe product.  <poof>
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit,  - my version of Adobe Reader is: 10.1.11,  windows is updated, I don't have any unusual extensions.
Any Ideas??  I'd be much obliged if anyone could help
    5tratus

Thank's pat.. I did that,  but for some reason,  in spite of rebooting about 3 times yesterday.. this morning all the adobe products just seem to be working?!
    I think I have a poltergeist .
So, hopefully the computer just needed a good night's sleep and it'll stay working.
    fingers crossed,

  • Adobe Reader XI freezes my computer when I try to print

I cannot print any pdf files.  I am running Windows 7 and when I open Adobe Reader XI and try to print a pdf, I get the print dialog box just fine but then when I click "Print," the dialog box comes up to show print progress and at that point everything freezes.  I am printing to a wireless printer HP Deskjet 6980.  I can't even get Ctl-Alt-delete to get me to Task Manager so I have to hold down the power button and I don't like having to shut down that way.

I have been having the same problem for weeks.  I am using Windows 7, Mozilla 33.0.3, and Adobe Reader version XI.0.09.  I saw some advice on another site that I relied on in resolving this.  You need to open the Reader, to to Edit, click on Preferences.  On the Left Hand menu, find "Security (Enhanced)" and open it. If "Enable Protected Mode at Start-up" is active, disable that.  "Enhanced Security" is likely already enabled (and you want to leave that on); if not, enable it.
Under "Privileged Locations," make sure both options (Trust documents/Trust sites) are enabled.  Then open the box entitled "View Windows Trusted Sites."  This will take you to the browser's Security Tab.  Click the green arrow "Trusted Sites" and then the "Sites" tab that appears.  Add the relevant https://.***.com site from which you wish to be able to print *.pdfs.  (Note: It is very important the you make sure to include the secure site, i.e., https..., and not the initial www.***.com site from which you may access the secure site).  After you have added the secure address, click Add, then Close the window.  Make sure then to Click "OK" to close the Security Tab, and then scroll down to the bottom of the "Security (Enhanced)" page to which you will be returned and click OK there.  Close the Adobe Reader and any other Reader windows you may have open.
You can now go to the secure site whose address you just entered, and download the .pdf you want.  (If you have already downloaded the .pdf on your computer from that site you can now just open it instead).  Send the print command for the pages of the .pdf page you want.  The system will hang for a few seconds (at least mine did), but then it prints.
You may be able to go directly to the Security Tab in your browser and enter the secure site in question without going through a pdf document and it will also work but I do not know that for sure.
Finally, I am not an expert; just another user who figured this out with a little help from others.  An expert may wish to comment further on what I have written above to provide further guidance or instruction.
    Good luck.
Later Note:  It is possible to add a non-secure site from which you want to download and open .pdfs to the Trusted Site list.  To do this, uncheck the "Require server verification (https://) for all sites in this zone" box that appears under the listed of Trusted Sites.  As I am not an expert user I do not know if doing this represents a significant security issue but I at least do not find that is the case after running a cursory search online.

  • How do I get my Adobe products back on new computer after not knowing the keys and codes

I have recently purchased a new Windows 8 computer. My Windows 7 computer went wrong on the motherboard, so I can't get my license keys, product keys and serial numbers for this new computer.

  • Adobe products now crash my computer.

At first, all the CC downloads worked fine. Then about a week ago, I started crashing if I used Acrobat (mainly by trying to look at PDFs.) Now if I open any Adobe program, like Dreamweaver or Photoshop, it will crash my computer as well. I've gone back to an earlier system restore, I tried an earlier Acrobat version, I've wiped all Adobe installs and CC cleaned it, I've reinstalled, same problem. (Crashing in this case means the blue screen of death.) This is a major problem so I'm hoping someone here has a solution.
My computer is VERY hefty and can handle the workload. I run Windows 7.

    Hi, Artemis131313

  • Adobe products on a new computer

I want to install my Dreamweaver MX 6.1 and Photoshop Elements 8 (now on my old computer under Windows XP) on my new computer under Windows 7.  The Adobe "Chat" help told me in effect "sorry, no go, buy a new version". Actually, this seems to me like conscious fraud on the part of Adobe.
But anyway, does anyone have a better idea of how I can use the software that I paid for?

You can try installing it. It isn't supported or tested in modern OS's so you might end up with some issues.
You will likely need this page to activate anything...
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/macromedia-legacy-activation-error.html
Adobe took down the actual activation servers for MX a long, long time ago. MX is over 12 years old, which is ancient by any software producer's standpoint, especially for anything web related.
Unless you do a lot of hand coding and work in Source View, pretty much exclusively, you won't be able to produce anything up to modern HTML standards with DWMX.

  • MacBook Pro freezes when open Adobe products

I use my MacBook Pro connect to an iMac in Target Display Mode, everything works perfect. When i use my Macbook standalone (not connected to iMac) and open Adobe products it freezes and have to restart. Why does does this happen yet when connected to the iMac it is fine (never freezes, ever!)

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Note the timestamps of the BOOT_TIME log messages, which refer to the times when the system was started. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time when you had the problem. Select the messages logged before the boot, during the time something abnormal was happening. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
For example, if the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down for three minutes before you forced a restart, post the messages timestamped within three minutes before the boot time, not after. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract—not at the beginning.
If there are long runs of repeated messages, please post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A crash report has a name that begins with the name of the crashed process and ends in ".crash". A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". A shutdown stall report has a name that ends in ".shutdownstall". Select the most recent of each, if any. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot. It's possible that none of these reports exists.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash or panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

  • Installing Adobe products on 2 computers.

I recently purchased a laptop and am on vacation with it. I have the download codes copied from my Adobe products on my home computer. I was told I could use the products on a total of 2 computers, but the codes only work once. How can I remdy this?
The products I have codes for are:
    Adobe Master Collection CS5
    Photoshop Elements 8.0
    Adobe Acrobat 8
    Adobe Acrobat 9 (upgrade)
    Adobe Distiller 8
    Adobe Distiller 9 (upgrade)

You call support to reset activations.

I installed indesign CS5 on new macbook pro and keeps freezing with spinning wheel once the app opens. Is there an issue with OS Mav or font issue or a plist I can pull. All other Adobe products work.

Migration should never be done with any Adobe program.
If you have done Migration, you have to UNINSTALL first (if even possible) and then download Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and run that also. When this is done, restart your computer and install the programs from an original Adobe Installer.
Other question is, if your OS is supporting that version. You can try it, it is not officially supported, but it might work.
But CC will work, upgrade to CC2014 (without additional cost), use that as it is better anyway.

I wonder how you got this -- there was no 64-bit Flash Player 10 version.  I think you can savely uninstall it.
Everything else is up to date.  All Adobe programs you listed are free to download and upgrade.

I am trying to reinstall Dreamweaver CS3 from the CD after having computer issues.  Now getting error "You can only install one Adobe product at a time.  Please complete the other installation before attempting to install ......."  There is no other Adobe product installing.  I have used the Adobe Cleaner Tool many times and uninstalled other Adobe Products but neither has worked.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled this CD version of Dreamweaver several times when changing computers and after having computer issues. A google search of the problem suggested it may be an error related to the number of times I can reinstall this product due to licensing issues.  Please help.

Absolutely not. You are misinterpreting things. The activation check never happens when just running the installer, only much later. It means what it says - there is another "install" pending/ active on your system, meaning somewhere there is an (invisible) process still blocking things. Either way, since you haven't provided any real technical info, we can't advise specifically. if you are on Windows, you may want to check your task manager and terminate any setup.exe and msiexec.exe processes plus potentially may need to manually fix/ delete some registry keys. For anything beyond that you will have to be much more specific.

  • How to fix my computer after multiple installs of same adobe product that I didn't start myself.

I just got done downloading adobe Flash Player, Reader, Air, + one other.  When they were done installing I had 4 exe files for flashplayer, all exactly the same, 2 readers, 4 of the other that I can't remember the name.  I am wondering why adobe downloads kept loading the same things over and over even though it would say complete and I'd move to next.  I have had adobe stuff on my last computer and there have been some places (sites) that suggested I get it for this one(computer) also.  But I don't want duplicated files taking space.  4 flash player was aprox 45-60.  I'm not on the computer page that I can tell exactly.  But in comparing the files, they are exactly the same.(As far as I can tell they are)  How can I get them off my computer without destroying my computer, or crashing it.  My last computer was windows 95 and it has been a while since I've had it.  This one is brand new and driving crazy figuring it all out.  I do know what flash player downloaded exe files look like and I 've got 4.  Can this be fixed so I'm not waisting space.  Thanks V.
p.s.  I mostly don't understand that these duplicate versions downloaed time and time again.  Shouldn't it be built into software that if it's there already you need to re-install?

"exe" is an executable file. Meaning it is executed by either a double click or a click and pressing "Enter". Installers are therefore, executables.
The files downloaded were "installers" only and will not do anything but install the products in your Program Files folder... which is where the actual applications run from. Since you've already installed the applications, you no longer need the installers.
