Adobe Professional 8 and Mozilla Firefox form fields

I have created form fields and comments in Adobe 8 Professional to cover text.  When using Professional 8 to view the document in the Firefox 21.0 the form fields and comments boxes do not show up (they are read only and locked).  When viewing the document using Reader 8 or Standard 9 they do show up.  Is there something else I am to do to prepare the document so that the form fields and comments are visible in Professional?

FireFox has a built in PDF viewer.
It does not work with form fields (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/950946)
A really old version of FireFox won't show the problem because it uses Adobe software instead.
It's possible to set up FireFox to use Adobe software again, but only computer by computer.
Botttom line is your instructions to users need to make it really clear what they must do, and simply having Adobe Reader or Acrobat installed is not enough.

  • Adobe Interactive Forms with Browser Apple Safari and Mozilla Firefox

    Hi Experts,
We have a requirement to implement HCM P&F using Adobe Interactive Forms. These Adobe Forms will be accessed using Browser Apple Safari and Mozilla Firefox. I have come across that the Adobe Interactive Forms are not supported on these browsers. In the same regard I have also gone through the Product Availability Matrix by SAP which specifies that Forms are not support on these browser and neither SAP has future plans to support them.
PAM can be found on link:          http://service.sap.com/pam
I would like to know from experts that if any of the project has successfully implemented Adobe Interactive Forms with browser Apple Safari and Mozilla Firefox or
is there any solution which can make these forms work successfully on browser Apple Safari and Mozilla Firefox.
Your early reply will be highly appreciated.
    thanks
    Manoj

    Hello,
Mozilla Firefox is supported for Adobe Interactive Forms on Windows operation system.
Unfortunatelly we do not have support for Mac OS and Safari browser.
    Please re-check the PAM.

I have purchased Adobe XI Pro and created a form for entering bowling scores to submit to newspaper for my high school team.  I can not figure out how to get pdf's into my documents folder on my iPad so that I can access the files in bowling alleys where I do not have a Wi-Fi connections.  I need to be able access files without going to acrobat.com.  Help!!!@

Post the PDF files to a web site. The browse to them in Safari on the iPad.  When you Open the files specify the Open to occur in Adobe Reader.  Then you can have/Save them in your Documents folder on the iPad.   An iPad has limited access to files otherwise.

    Hi,
Apologize for the late reply and the misunderstanding about the ActiveX download location, we could change the location through the below registries:
Use Registry Editor to change the "ActiveXCache" value to the location you want in the following registry key:
          HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
Use Registry Editor to change the "0" value to the location you want in the following registry key:
          HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ActiveX Cache
NOTE: The values you enter in steps 1 and 2 must match.
    More information, please check
How to Change the Download Location for ActiveX Files (registries exists in IE11).
Regarding the urls that download the cab files into user profile directory, would you mind to share the URL?
And here is some information regarding inf files:
    About INF File Architecture
We may check the value of DestDir, DestDir can be set to 10 to place the file into the \Windows directory or to 11 to place the file into the \Windows\System directory. If no value is specified, the file is placed into the \Cache directory.

  • How does one strip out all Live Cycle data from a PDF and rebuild the form fields in Acrobat?

Someone in a different department built a bunch of forms in Live Cycle. We now need to make minor edits to these forms but we all have Macs and can't use Live Cycle. Currently our only option to change a date and a name on each form  is to buy a new Windows workstation, buy a copy of Live Cycle and train someone for it.
I understand the Live Cycle technology and Acrobat technology for forms are somehow different but there must be a way to just strip out all the Live Cycle form programming so that I just have the bare PDF with the text and layout.  Then make the text edits and rebuild the form fields in Acrobat.

It depends on your PDF. Is the PDF a static XFA or a dynamic XFA?
You can check to see if the PDF is static/dynamic by clicking File=>Save As, and it should say static or dynamic PDF as file type.
iText will work with Static XFA forms created in LiveCycle. Dynamic XFA forms are not supported.
You can also submit XML data to a server side script and parse the XML data using C# system.xml.xmlreader.
Another tool that may speed the development of the project is:
    http://www.fdftoolkit.net/
    Note: FDFToolkit.net utilizes iText Technologies.

  • Firefox form fields do not clear when selected (i.e., "Enter Zip Code" should disappear when clicked). Has to be erased in vers. 8 & now 12

I just upgraded from vers. 8 to 12 in order to fix this.
Can't remember when this started, but it was mid version, not due to an update.
At first, I thought vendors programmers were getting lazy, but then realized it was too prolific.
Firefox form fields must be erased manually, after entering -- should go blank as soon as selected.
Is this a setting I am missing

In some cases, the temporary ("placeholder") content is inserted by a new method available in HTML5. This page has some boxes you can use to test whether this new feature is working in your Firefox.
[http://www.html5accessibility.com/tests/placeholder-labelling.html HTML5 placeholder attribute tests] (please ignore the discussion about bugs)
In other cases, the site may be using a script to clear the temporary content as soon as you click the box. This is necessary to support older browsers. If you block JavaScript on the page -- either by unchecking the Enabled box in the Options/Content tab or using the NoScript add-on -- then the temporary content will not be removed. However, if you are not blocking JavaScript, then the problem could be (i) the site's scripts or (ii) a conflict with another add-on, perhaps one that relates to automatic form filling.
Can you give an example of a page where this is a problem?

  • I cant get my itunes librairy and mozilla firefox bookmarks to sync. Help?

I cant get my itunes librairy and mozilla firefox bookmarks to sync. Help?

    What?
Well that must be a trick I've missed.
As far as I'm aware, you cannot sync "the iTunes Library" (the media - songs, videos, etc.) with Firefox, since Firefox's bookmarks are the locations of websites that you've marked in order to access them quickly. iTunes doesn't "visit websites". What am I missing, I'm curious to know?
What information, in iTunes, are you trying to sync with Firefox bookmarks?

  • Mm_menu.js HTML5 changes Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox

    Mozilla Technical Support,
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ie/bg182625(v=vs.85).aspx
mm_menu.js is an output of Dreamweaver and enables drop-down menus. Microsoft is eliminating
document.all and replacing it with document.getElementById
    to comply with HTML5 standards
I modified mm_menu.js as Microsoft recommended (so I thought) and it worked perfectly well in Internet Explorer. However, I couldn’t get the drop-down menus in Mozilla Firefox. What do I need to do to get mm_menu.js to work or does Firefox need to make additional modifications?
FYI, I tried using the following quick fix which resulted in the Internet Explorer page displaying incorrectly:
    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=9"/>
See below for the modified version of mm_menu.js
It would be nice if the same javascript worked in both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.
    Thanks,
    Robin Rembish

Yeah, it would have been nice if IE had followed web standards over the years before IE11 came out so that programs like Dreamweaver would have "gotten it right" from the beginning, instead of their users having to "patch" the code output by Dreamweaver to make it compatible now. That's what the "like Gecko" is all about = make it work like Mozilla.
Try posting at the Web Development / Standards Evangelism forum at MozillaZine. The helpers over there are more knowledgeable about web page development issues with Firefox. <br />

EMERGENCY!!! My browser is not working!!!
Sorry, just a little melodrama 8-)
But, in fact, it is somewhat of an emergency for me.
I've found that in general pacman -Syu does not work for me. Something requires tweaking afterward. Minor tweaking, or MAJOR tweaking. Mozilla and thunderbird are often at the heart of the trouble and I depend on both of these for daily operations (this is NOT a game machine, although I have a 5 year old and a broken game machine can be a different kind of emergency 8-)
So I've gotten into the habit of getting my machine running AND LEAVING IT ALONE. Unfortunately time does march on, and once I come around to NEEDING to upgrade then it's always a MAJOR tweaking effort.
This kind of brings us up to the present.
mozilla 1.7.7 and mozilla-firefox 1.0.4 are both installed.
If I type mozilla or mozilla-firefox on the command line, nothing happens!
No return to the prompt, no output, nothing (I used to get the Seg Fault mozilla-sh $(1+($PROG)) error with 1.7.7, now I get nothing).
I had prviously just been downgrading mozilla back to 1.7.3 to make things work. Now I'm not allowed to remove firefox, and it conflicts with the older mozilla, so I can't downgrade, so NO MOZILLA!!!!
That brings us completely up to the emergency. I'm posting this with konqueror, which is nice but not adequate for my surfing requirements.
    Any help is GREATLY appreciated!
    Thank You...
