Adobe Professional issue

Hi ,
I hope someone can assist me, I have a user with Windows XP, using Adobe Professional 8, as far as they told me an update ran, what they normally do is combine JPG's, now they cannot without getting an error, I have tried repair on a full reinstall, still no luck.

Hi Daniel,
Please tell me which OS version are you using.
Also, let me know whether you are able to successfully access other features of Acrobat 9 or face any trouble.
Please share the screenshot of the error message as I need to analyze the exact problem.
You might install Acrobat cleaner tool "Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs" to remove all traces of this software and then again install Acrobat 9:
Hope to hear from you.

  • Adobe Professional issue after trial

    Hi All,
One of my end-users has an issue with Adobe Professional.
We have Pro 9 installed, and he recently wanted to try out Pro 11. We installed the trial and after the trial period we uninstalled it.
Since then he has been having issues with Pro 9. Mainly he uses it in collaboration with AutoCAD. The main issue he has is when trying to print to PDF from AutoCAD, it says that the print job failed.
We have uninstalled and reinstalled Pro 9.
Is there a way to completely remove all traces of Adobe so I can install Pro 9 from complete scratch? or has anyone seen this issue before?
    Regards,
    Hatfield

  • Issues with Adobe Professional 9

    Hi
We are facing some issues with Adobe Professional 9,
The problems are as follows while converting the DOC file to PDF using Adobe Proff 9.
    1) Bullets are missing
    2) Crossreferences are not working
    3) adding junk characters in header.
Can you please help me on this.
We need to understand the issue.
    Manohar S S

Just some stray thoughts on the topic:
Use Adobe PDFMaker to create the PDF from the MS Word file.
When a MS Word cross-reference is inserted, ensure that "Insert as hyperlink" is ticked in the Cross-reference dialog.
In the configuration of Adobe PDFMaker's Preferences, ensure "Add Links" is ticked (under the Settings tab).
Ensure that the installed Acrobat (and associated Adobe PDFMaker) is working with a compatible version of Office.
    See: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/333/333504.html
For all characters used in the source MS Word file; ensure that the characters used provide proper mapping to Unicode.
Do not use characters that rely upon a restricted character value.
When using Word Headings/Styles that incorporate the bullet character, ensure you work from those that are "built-in" to MS Word.
If you are working out of Windows 7 / Office 2010 you need to move up to Acrobat X.
    Be well...

  • OC RDC and Adobe Professional 6.0 compatibility issue

I have several users who are using OC RDC version 4.5.0 and have a full version of Adobe Professional 6.0 installed on their PCs. They are unable to open the PDFs in OC RDC. Does anyone have any issues as to why these apps are not compatible? Any settings within Adobe Professional that can be modified to get these two apps to work. They users also have Adobe Reader 8.0 but can not open the PDFs.

Acrobat 6 pro was what.... 2003?
You're talking about seven-year-old software, which is an a lot of cases unable to open PDFs created now unless they were intentionally made compatible that far back.
Chances are that reader 9 updated some core files that rendered Acrobat 6 unusable. It's too far back to "upgrade" (7 was the cutoff for that I believe) so either reinstalling from the original media (the OEM disc that came with your system, if it had Acrobat 6 on it) or purchasing Acrobat 9 Pro are your options.
A side note, if your system came with Acrobat 6  installed, it's probably time to look at a newer, more up to date system as well.

  • Problem with Adobe Professional 7 saving the identify prefrence when it is typed in.

I am running Adobe Professional 7 with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010.  When I enter my prefrences by going to Edit>Prefrences, it does not save my data.  Do you think that if I go to Adobe Professional 8 or higher, that this will resolve the problem with this issue?

    Hi mbartell,
If it was woorking before for you and not now, you can try 'Repair Acrobat' by navigating to the 'Help' menu.
Since you are using the latest OS and Office versions it's recommended you buy the latest Acrobat 11 as it's compatible with Windows 7 / 8 and Office 2010

  • Boot Camp and Adobe Professional

My fiancee recently bought a Dell with Vista and had huge compatibility issues with Adobe Professional to the point where we had to return the computer. She now wants to buy a Mac, but we have about $700 sunk into Microsoft software (Adobe Professional and Microsoft Word Suite), so the Boot Camp software is attractive to her. I have two questions. First, can we load Adobe and Word onto the Boot Camp side once we receive the computer? Second, does XP or Vista come with the computer, or do we load that on there ourselves? We just want to make sure it's all compatible before we make the purchase.

You have to use an XP or Vista install disk.
Those apps should work, but I won't guarantee it.

  • Adobe reader issue there was an error opening this file. the file cannot be found. How to fix this?

We are opening pdf file in flex air application. but for some user we are facing this issue.

Problem is not being able to open pdf attachments.  Get this error message:  "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired."
I searched on the web and in the context of a discussion I located, an Adobe professional posted this solution: HKCU\Software\Adobe\(product name)\(version)\AVGeneral\bValidateBytesBeforeHeader=dword:00000000.
I am accustomed to attempting to fix things myself, but I am not a computer science person so it's always a stretch for me. If I get a little guidance I can usually make necessary corrections.  I hope that I can with this issue..
Still hoping that someone will know how to fix the error problem which according to what I read is a software issue having to do with the program not understanding something in the pdf header...

  • Adobe player issue

    Enviroment: Windows 7 professional
Tools: Adobe Connect , Office 2010 and Adobe Presenter
Issue: Adobe connect prompts everytime to download Adobe player, although i downloaded it sucessfully. how do I overcome this situation?
Flash Player 8.0.0.0 or above is required
Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro requires the Flash Player browser plugin, version 8.0.0.0 or above. Please download and install the Flash Player to continue.
    Download Flash Player

Just to be clear, I took your words to mean you are on the latest version of Safari, but are you also on the latest version of Flash? Go to System Preferences -> Flash Player and compare the version number to what is available to download for your computer on the Adobe Flash webpage. A few questions to consider: does the issue persist in other browsers? What model computer are you using specifically and are you equipped to handle the tasks you are looking to perform?

  • I am missing PDF Printer (PDFMaker), have reinstalled Adobe Professional and even did a repair making sure I added the PDFMaker options - it still will not add the PDF Printer (PDFMaker) option - which is necessar to use with our document comparison softw

Please help me add back the PDF Printer - I am missing the PDF Printer (PDFMaker) and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Professional 10, I have tried repairing it and made sure the options for PDFMaker are selected, to no avail.  I need the PDF Printer to use with our document comparison product, using the add printer options and adding the Adobe converters doesn't fix this issue either, it just adds an option to convert documents to PDF to a local folder which doesn't fix the issue.
I have a contract for Adobe Support but cannot reach a technician by 1-800 number, does anyone (1) have a solution to this problem? and (2) a telephone number for which I can call for assistance?
    Thanks!

  • Adobe Professional 7.0

User has Adobe Professional 7.0 installed.  When she tries to convert any document(.doc, .xls, .ppt) to pdf it looks like document is trying to convert and then the printer box comes up indicating failed to print document.  If I log in as administrator or give user administrator rights she can do the conversion.
    Any ideas?

The most basic steps in the PDF creation is to print to file (it will be a PS file, though the extension may be PRN). Then start Distiller (afterwards) and use the file menu to open the file that was created by the printer.
You will likely find a problem with access to the Job.Settings files. This is typically a Windows permissions issue or a location issue of the files. You might be able to copy the job.settings files from the current location to a general users account and then use Distiller to add these new locations and remove the old ones. I am guessing to some extent, but I think this is the general area of the problem.
When the normal print to the Adobe PDF printer is done, the resident program AcroTray handles the process of running Distiller in the background. My suggestion was just to be able to get a better handle on the error messages since AcroTray is apparently runnning (you can print as you said). PDF Maker and other functions are just preprocessors for this printer.

  • Adobe Reader Mobile / Adobe Professional 8.1.5 / Kindle DX

We have recently purchased a Kindle DX and are attempting to load PDF documents watermarked with Adobe 8.1.5. When these documents are ported to the Kindle DX, the document either crashes the Kindle or the page turns are extremely slow, 7 to 10 seconds per page. All watermarking is being done on Windows XP. A few questions:
Are there compatibility issues with Adobe Mobile Reader and Adobe Professional 8.1.5
Should we upgrade to Adobe Professional 9.x?

Thanks for the quick response, but I have read on multiple sites: http://blogs.adobe.com/billmccoy/2009/05/amazon_others_l.html that Amazon incorporated Adobe's Reader Mobile Technology. Is this not true? If it is, what does this technology give to the Kindle DX?
"Amazon today announced their new large-screen Kindle DX, including that they have integrated PDF via Adobe's Reader Mobile technology, giving users instant access to millions of business and personal documents. The integration of PDF technology allows users to simply email PDF files to their Kindle email address or quickly move them to the device using a USB connection. The Adobe SDK also supports PDF reflow, so that text can automatically adapt to the screen size, allowing users to consume PDF documents with an enhanced reading experience."

  • Help request: Adobe Converter issue

    Hi!
May I trouble someone, it's likely a simple issue but is driving me insane
My Adobe Professional - 8 used to convert MS-Word 2007 files (up to this morning) while keeping all the original text colors/fonts.  Now when it converts, the resulting PDF file only shows "black" text.
Just prior to this happening, with the last conversion I attempted I saw a pop-up message, an error of sorts, saying something regarding a feature that would need to be disabled if this problem had occurred before (don't quite remember the exact words...an add-on  feature?).  I ignored the message.
    Thanks
    PF

    Thanks Jimmy...
I do MS-Office 2007, not 2003.  I did solve my issue, but what I actually
did was uninstall Adobe and re-install it

  • Adobe TV Issues on Mac

    Hi
I first asked this question in the Lounge (http://forums.adobe.com/message/3988002) and it was suggested that I try here.
Sorry if this isn't the right location for this posting, but I couldn't see any specific section for Adobe TV issues.
We seem to be having issues with Adobe TV on Macs where the video never loads.
This has been tested with OS X 10.6 and 10.7 and using Firefox 4, 5, 6 and 7 and Safari 5.
The video's load fine using PC's on our corporate network with Firefox so I know it isn't our proxy server configuration.
The advert before the video will load and I get the countdown to when the video will start, but the video never does start and the time at the bottom left is always at 00:00.
The only thing I can think of is that this is a permissions issue as our Mac users do need to enter proxy login credentials to get to the internet, but there is no pop-up login box or any other error message being displayed.
I spotted this question http://forums.adobe.com/message/3113557#3113557 about someone who was having issues with AdobeTV on their iMac.
I've tried changing the Flash settings, but this has made no difference.
If anyone can help me figure out what's going on, I'd be very grateful.
    Matt

    Hi,
Can you go to http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html to check which version of flash player your browser is using on Mac.
Your problem seems to be related with video. Are you able to see any youtube video on Mac?
Would you mind send me the system profile of your mac machine?
    Thanks!
