Adobe Programs won't install....

Hi,
i have a nasty problem... all of my adobe programs won't install... (the .dmg's)
When i wan't to install after effects for example, mac says:
"System Requirements Error
This software cannot be installed because the file
system of the OS volume is not supported."
(this is translated from dutch, it maybe isn't exactly the same, as it would say in the english version of leopard..)
i already tried to use the disk help program, but it won't work...
what should i do???

Ah, okay. I was wondering if it was that, or a downloaded copy from a college server. Lot's of colleges do that these days for student priced versions.
Anyway, the problem seems to be that you have formatted the hard drive as case sensitive. If you did do that, you'll have to erase the drive with Disk Utility and reinstall everything from scratch. I don't think you can change it without erasing the drive.

  • Adobe AIR won't install - Windows 7 Ultimate x64

    "Sorry, an error has occurred.
An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator."
Well, I asked myself and verified that I am allowed to install any programs I wish to at will.
I even toyed with adding extra permissions for the .exe and shortcut [see below], to no avail.
I also checked your Adobe AIR installation troubleshooter section before posting. Unfortunately, none of the solutions 100% applied to my circumstances or OS, yet I tried a few anyway and had it confirmed by a Windows dialogue that I need not have bothered as it assured me that they weren't applicable in my case.
I found another thread like mine where somebody suggested creating a shortcut with an additional -uninstall parameter added to the .exe path. It didn't work.
I used Microsoft's Installation Cleanup Utility and that didn't work to "un-confuse" the installer either.
Do you have any more suggestions?
Adobe AIR came with the HTC Sync program for my phone, which appears to have dependencies on it where it won't completely work without it.
Thanks in advance for any input.
ps. I created a new thread because I couldn't find the "reply" button on a similarly unresolved thread regarding Adobe AIR installation issues on Windows 7.

I would like to say thanks to artrose54 and to playswithtech for their thoughtful responses to my problem. I finally figured out which number I was to delete, and then, having made a copy of the number in notepad, deleted it. Upon a restart to my computer I then was able to download adobe air 2.7. I found that I still could not download the shutterfly express uploader, however; so I applied the same approach. I went looking for the number in the registry that corresponded to the uploader. I deleted it; restarted the computer; returned to shutterfly; and then was able to download the express uploader. I am sure I will find other uses for Adobe Air in the future.

    Hi everyone,
Here is the fix that worked for me,
You need to go to start run and type in regedit
now press ctrl+f for find and type in "adobe air" without the quotes then click find next
the first entry it finds is the one I deleted, it is a long number on left side of screen that is greyed just right click and delete it
I then rebooted the computer and ran adobe air installation
and it worked with out a problem
The adobe air log file really doesn't tell u anything but where it tried to find the setup.msi file
but it doesn't exist because of the registry entry that needs to be deleted which is what causes the error
If u r not sure of editing the registry then maybe you know someone that can help you
I hope this helps you out it worked for me

  • Why can't I open PDFs anymore and Adobe Reader won't install.

Why can't I open PDFs anymore and Adobe Reader won't install? This happens only in Safari. I have tried changing my security preferences but it doesn't help.

    missyzz,
which version of OS X is installed on your Mac, and which version of Adobe Reader do you have installed? Did you ensure that all of your browsers were not running when you’d installed Adobe Reader?
To use Preview to open PDFs, download the PDFs to your Mac, and then use Preview to open the PDFs locally. Since you can open PDFs in Firefox, it sounds like you don’t need the Preview workaround.

  • Exit code:15 Adobe Premier won't install.

I got exit code:15 and Adobe Premier won't install it keeps stopping at 43%.

    Sorry,
I am using a Late 2012 Mac Mini,
    With OSX Yosemite (Version 10.10.1)
Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
    4GB 1600 MHz DDR3
I couldn't find which version of CC, but I am 99% sure it is the newest one.
    Thanks.

  • Downloaded Acrobat Pro 7 from Adobe site, won't install, errors out, what do I do now?

I had Acrobat Pro 7 on my old XP machine. I bought a new Win7 machine. Went to install Acrobat on it from the old CD, with original serial no. Wouldn't activate, said "activation server not available". Went to the Adobe site, that error page linked to a download of an .exe for Acrobat Pro 7 not requiring activation, providing password. So yeah, I thought . . . .Did the whole thing, but the install errors out, every time, and offers no workaround. So I am stuck.  Error popups attached. Any guidance appreciated. I bought the original program, I'm legit.
The error messages are the usual opaque stuff, I have no idea how I would verify that I have access to a directory that the installer just now created on my hd . . . Why wouldn't I?
I REALLY really need the Adobe pdf printer driver for all my apps, particularly Sibelius, PDF995 drops things . . . .

OK, thanks both, yes I have 64-bit so there goes that reliable printer.
HOWEVER, the URL that 2.Bill gave me is exactly where I downloaded their exe from, the one that *won't install. If you read my post, I am looking for how to make that installer work; I found the folder listed in both error messages, but neither of the referenced files are there, only a similarly named .dll.
And when I go to delete the entire Acrobat 7 folder so I can start over (I did uninstall it after my install from disk that wouldn't activate), the system tells me I do NOT have access to delete it, I need permission from SYSTEM. But I am the only user on my new PC and as far as I know I have admin rights.
I waded into the Security settings for the folder, but the system won't let me change them. This is . . . counterintuitive . . .
I am out of my depth.
    Anyone else have any ideas?
    Thanks for listening,
    Davod

  • Adobe cs3 won't install on Windows 7(32-bit)!

A friend of mine finally convinced me to install Windows 7, and he had good reason to. This OS really lives up to the hype thats been going on...but, Im having trouble installing an ESSENTIAL program(s) to this great OS, Adobe CS3 Design Premium. I installed Windows 7 (32-bit) from a DVD, with the product key, which I think is the "clean install" Ive been hearing about. I read something that says Windows 7 doesn't recognize a certain file associated with Cs3, maybe thats why it wont load. I attached a screen shot of my system specs, if it helps. But this is what happened.
    - When I insert the software DVD, the autoplay feature pops up, then Windows "User Account Control" asks me if I want to allow the changes.
    - I click "Yes," and then the "Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium" window pops up and gives me the option to: Install CS3 Design Premium; Install Adobe Acrobat 8; and Browse CD.
    - I choose "Install CS3" and then a window "Initializing Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium" with a progress bar.
    - The bar fills up, but when it finishes nothing happens.
I checked the tasked manager and see that, that adobe setup.exe is running somehow, but nothing happens. I have search on Adobe forums and google for possible solutions, but nothing has worked so far. I have tried:
    - Runnning the setup application from the DVD (in Adobe Design Premium CS3 folder) as "Administrator"
    - Ran "wincs3clean," to remove any existing adobe programs from the system.
    - Ran ccleaner, to fix/repair any registry problems or anything else.
    - Tried copying the content of the DVD onto the desktop and run it as Admin.
    - Used the command.exe (as admin) and ran the "regsvr32 jscript.dll" and "regsvr32 vb(something)"
    - Ran Windows 7 in "simplified" mode, where I disabled any services/processes from interferring with the setup, through the msconfig feature.
    - Cleared the Windows temporary files, as this was a solution for Vista, I thought might work.
    - Tried updating my drivers, everything was uptodate.
    - Called Adobe Technical support, waited about 30 mins, and then was told "Adobe does not support Windows 7, so the install may or maynot work." (They could help if they wanted to).
    - Tried restarting in a previous version, to see if it would install, but the admin password that I had before isnt working now for some reason.
Ive seen reports of people having Adobe CS3 installed on Windows 7 and working fine, so I know its possible. Its just frustrating that I cant get it to work. Somebody (bodies), please help me. Let me know if there is any other info needed. Ive struggling with this for some time now.
    Thanks A-Mil in advance,
    Gary D.

i am having very similar issues and after working on this for days i'm ready to trash all Adobe products..   i've been in DP for 35 years and have never had this much trouble with anything - ever.
i migrated to a new machine using windows 7 from and XP machine.  i used PCmover to port applications and all are working just fine except my Adobe CS3 products.   When i try to open them i get some sort of message about catastophic licensing problem and the product immediately closes.  i'd detail the error but it's only up for about  4 milliseconds before it disappears.
so i tried reinstalling CS3 and it loads the autoplay just fine and then i click on 'install adobe cs3' icon and see the progress bar moving for about 2 secons and then that disappears and then NOTHING.
so i found suggestions about using the CS5 cleaner tool and ran that bout it didn't even find the application..
so i went to control panel and clicked on 'uninstall' for CS3 and it seems run for about 3 seconds and then NOTHING..
so i installed a windows cleanup tool that was recommended but that's been retired by Microsoft because it caused other problems so i didn't run it..
short of formatting my hard drive and starting over installing over 50 apps on my new computer, i'm at a loss and so extremely frustrated with Adobe that i am willing to learn another set of programs to replace them and to tell the world.

  • Adobe AIR won't install Mac OS 10.8.2

I'm trying to install Muse and/or a Dreamweaver Extension from a Creative Cloud account and it won't install because of a problem with AIR. I've tried installing AIR through the Muse dialogue and it crashes the installer. I've also tried to install AIR (version 3.5) directly from the Adobe site, downloading the installer separately from the Muse dialogue and recieve the below error message.  What is the problem? I keep deleting old versions of Muse and Air, restarting and it's still the same problem.

  • Adobe Desktop won't install

I was able to successfully install the Palm Desktop on my XP Professional SP3 system without incident.  When I try to install the Adobe Reader for Palm, the application installs on my Palm TX no problem, but the desktop application to specify the files to download won't install.  It enters the Install Shield, I hit next, the progress bars go across quickly and there is nothing on my desktop or in my Start Menus.  I have used the  setup from the Palm CD and downloaded the setup from the Adobe site and neither one worked.
I spoke to Palm and they told me I need to discuss this with Adobe.  The Support Portal withdrew my question and referred me here.  Does anyone have a solution or work around for this?  I haven't seen anything on the web.

I was able to discover why my desktop was not installing.  Apparently the Install Shield is an old version.  I followed solutions I had found on Google to no avail.  What finally DID work was to install Acrobat Reader for Palm OS in safe mode for Windows XP.  I believe that Service Pack 3 of Windows was inhibiting the install.
I don't know how risky this is to do, but it worked.  Something like this may also work for Vista.  I don't know.

  • Adobe Flasher Won't Install

I've have tried everything I can think of to try to install
adobe flasher. I had it on this computer for a long time and now it
just won't install properly. Everytime i try to install it, it says
that I need to install the Active X. I then try to install Active
X, but I always get a note that tells me that the instalation
failed. I can't view certain pictures and video. I can't seem to
properly download the correct Active X control or there maybe
another problem. Thanks for any information.

The number one reason that the ActiveX installer fails to
install on IE are due to incorrect permissions in the system
registry. We have solved hundreds of these Windows system
    permissions with Microsoft’s SubInACL tool.
Note: This is strictly for Windows IE, these issues do not
occur on other browsers such as Firefox.
    www.firefox.com
To fix these Windows system registry permission conflicts you
    can use Microsoft’s SubInACL tool.
Warning: The following solution involves the Windows System
Registry. Editing or manipulating the registry incorrectly can
result in serious system damage which may require re-installation
of the operating system. If you are not comfortable editing the
registry, then take your system to a professional. If you choose to
proceed, then it is essential that you create a complete system
backup and a Windows System Restore Point before proceeding.
Please download Microsoft’s tool to your desktop.
    http://www.supportflash.com/reset_min.zip
    1. Login as the User that has the incorrect permissions in
    the system registy
    2. unzip the “reset_minimal.cmd” and the
    “subinacl.exe” to the desktop
*** Make sure both files are on the desktop
    3. Close out all applications
    4. Run the “reset.cmd” file
    5. It will open a DOS like terminal and start running through
    registry keys
    6. When it is finished it will say “press any key to
    continue”
    7. At this point you can download the latest Flash Player

  • All Adobe Programs Won't Launch

I recently bought a copy of Adobe Master Collection CS6 about 3 months ago and all of a sudden none of my Adobe programs will launch. When I click to open the program it will load for about two seconds then a window will pop up saying amtlib.dll is missing from my computer. I need help and this is urgent! I've tried safe mode and everything but NOTHING works, please help as I am desperate!! • Why do so many downloaded Adobe programs fail to install???

I have downloaded two programs (paid for), Adobe Premiere 8 and Lightroom 3 on two different computers with Windows 7 64 bit. On each of them I get the same error message when I try to install: "A problem occurred while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder." This is absurd. I have 500GB free on the drive and there are no write problems when installing other programs. Why are Adobe programs screwing up?

I am having the same problem. What's worse is that when I search this forum I see many people have this problem and nobody bothers to answer them. Why
is it so hard to install these products? Software from other companies can be installed quickly and easily, so we know it's possible.

  • Adobe CS3 won't install - could classic be an issue?

I had forgotten I even had classic until this morning on the phone with Adobe Tech Support. Problem is: Adobe CS3 will not install. My case now has been escalated to Tech Level 3, and I am awaiting that call. In other words, many fixes have been tried already, including a new disk Fed-Xed here. Anyway, I was just thinking.... what if some small component of Classic is causing this problem? I absolutely do not need it. If one of you wonderful experts thinks this might be it, I also would need to know how to uninstall it. (All the other questions in this forum seem to be how to make it work.) Thanks for reading.
PS The reason I thought of this was the Adobe Tech (Level 2) guy had me check every font to make sure none were locked. (None were.) We also repaired permissions and did the CS3Clean script several times at the Level 4. (I have to do all this all over again every time I try to install and it fails.)

For the record, this was the solution: Leopard was installed (clean) on this computer, and CS3 still wouldn't install. An Apple certified person tried many things after that. Spent about 8 hours and was about to give up. The idea that finally worked was to install the suite on a different hard drive and then "migrate" it to my hard drive (whatever migrate means). It was a truly horribly experience, and I am not anxious to do business with Adobe again.

  • Adobe Air won't install on android device.

Just got a android phone to develop air apps on and guess what, the Adobe Air won't load.
The phone (Virgin Mobile Optimus V = Mid-Tex Cellular LGE VM670) was just released.
Does Adobe Air have minimum specs that have to be followed?
Does the Adobe Air app have to updated with my phone to allow access on the android market .
Some Air apps will show my phone, on others air apps do not (device ghosted) Including Adobe Air.
    Thanks

    I found this minimun specs:
    Android devices
    Google Android™ 2.2 operating system
    ARMv7-A processor with vector FPU
    OpenGL ES 2
    H.264 and AAC hardware decoders
    256MB of RAM
The Optimus V has OS 2.2 and enough ram.
Have to check the rest of the specs.
The screen res is 320x480 and the processor is slow but has a gpu.
I was surprised to see only 5 manufacturers certifided for Adobe Air Runtimes!
There might be 50 manufacturers world wide making android devices.
You would think the software would cater to the lowest common denomminator = minimun specs.
I don't mind needing top of the line specs, that's OK makes sense, But not being able to sell an app
because the manufacturer has not been certifided makes no sense.
All manufacturers should have a top of the line device that meets the minimun spec.
    It limits your market.
    Sorry for the rant,
want to buy a phone. Mint!
