It looks like a glitch on the windows side.

  • Adobe CS6 Flash - 3D transform tool is grayed out?

    Hi,
I am using adobe flash cs6 and I want to rotate an image in 3d space, but when I select the image then click the 3d transform tool I don't get the 3 circles to spin the image. I tried opening the transform toolbar, and the options to move it in 3d space are grayed out. I tried breaking the image apart, and still the same results - I can't rotate the image...
Does anyone know what I should be doing to get 3d rotate to work?
    Thanks.

I want to rotate an image in 3d space
You have to convert your image to a symbol first (F8) to be able to use 3D Translation

  • Transform Tool - Photoshop CS6 crashing on Mac

Is any one having trouble with the Transform Tool in Photoshop CS6 crashing when trying to resize on Mac?
I've got Photoshop CS6 Extended with software version: 13.0.6
    Mac Software Version: Yosemite 10.10.2
    Any help would be appreciated.

What is your setup like?  How much installed RAM, how much available hard disk space?  Separate drive for Photoshop scratch?
Have you already tried trashing your Photoshop preferences yet and letting the application create new ones for you?  Have you Repaired Permissions with Apple's Disk Utility?  If not, do both at once.
To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop, start the application while holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"
Note: If this process doesn't work for you while you're using a wireless (Bluetooth) keyboard, attach a wired keyboard and retry.
Important: If you re-create the preferences by deleting the Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings file, make sure that you only delete that file. If you delete the entire settings folder, you also delete any unsaved actions or presets.
Reinstalling Photoshop does not remove the preferences file. Before reinstalling Photoshop, re-create your preferences.
NEW Video! Julieanne Kost created a video that takes you through two ways of resetting your Photoshop preferences. The manual preference file removal method is between 0:00 - 5:05. The keyboard shortcut method is between 5:05 - 8:18. The video is located here.

Important: Apple made the user library folder hidden by default with the release of Mac OS X 10.7. If  you require access to files in the hidden library folder to perform Adobe-related troubleshooting, see How to access hidden user library files.

  • No additional toolbar free transform tool in Illustrator CC

i cannot find the small additional tool bar (like here http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=ctgGM2-J8Sw#t=69s) after i select the free transform tool. and of course the transformations do not work the way they are supposed to.
    please help!
    thx

    j,
You may also consider two other possibilities or similar.
One is a corruption of preference settings. The following is a list of things to try when something is wrong (number 5) on the list is least likely).
You may have been through 1) and 2) already.
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer;
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy);
Even more seriously, you may:  6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
The other is that the little tool bar is of screen; this can especially happen in connexion with dual monitors. You may try to increase the monitor reolution and see whether it turns up somewhere out there, and if it does, you may drag it in and reduce the monitor resolution again. It may create a bit of a mess to clear up.

My selection tool settings got messed up and now I can't scale objects arbitrarily - but only by the transform tool/ resetting the W/H at the top toolbar. I've searched everywhere and can't find where I can readjust those settings. Someone help!

Whenever this happens (it happens ocassionally and it's so annoying) I just wipe my preferences.

  • Photoshop crashes after using transform tool in animation window!

My photoshop (CS5 on a mac) has been crashing anytime I use the free transform tool in the animation window. It works perfectly fine in regular photoshop, but the second I switch over to animation using the select tool then the free transform tool will crash photoshop and I'll lose what I was working on. I've tried a few things already, but my problem seems to be super specific and nobody else has had this happen to them.

    Hi Haylee,
Sorry about Photoshop CS5 crashing when you're working in the animation timeline.
Do you get a crash log that shows up?
Could you provide the details in that crash log here in the Forum discussion?
Have you tried creating a new user account, and tested working with this file and animation under that user to see if it crashes there?

Is PS CS5 up to date? The latest version of CS5 is 12.0.4
Which Mac OS Version are you working on? Is it up to date?
What happens if you create a NEW file, and create an animation timeline on that one, do you still get the same crashing behavior? Is it just with this one file?

  • Free transform tool fail

    Hello.
Im really frustrated with how the free transform tool works for me (or in that case, it doesnt work)
I am using Illustrator CS4 on a PC.
Adobe Help for that software states:
    Select one or more objects.
Select the Free Transform tool .
Start dragging a corner handle on the bounding box (not a side handle), and then do one of the following:Hold down Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac OS) until the selection is at the desired level of distortion
First of all Im unable to select anything with the free transform tool, so I use the regular selection tool first to select my object.
As you can see after selecting the object I have selected the free transformation tool, grabbed the corner and pressed Control Key on my keyboard (tried both keys as well). The transformation tool refuses to work as it does in Photoshop.
I have tried to reset my keybindings to Illustrator default.
I have tried first clicking the corner, holding it and then pressing down the CTRL without moving the mouse as was stated on some other forums googled with this issue.
I have tried setting my keyboard to American US in Windows.
As you can see the object is a very simple rectangle, its not a part of any type of group.
Im working on a european version of CS4 Master Collection bought in London UK.
I have tried this on a US version that I have at work, it has the same issue.
I have seen and followed the instruction from various YouTUbe movies and the tool simply wont comply to my commands.
    I am pissed.
    Halp pleez?

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
Placed raster images will not distort with the Free Transform Tool.
Linked (as opposed to embedded) raster images will not distort.
If you enclose an embedded raster image in an Envelope (ex: Make With Mesh, 1 Row 1 Cell), then it can be distorted by the Free Transform Tool using the modifier keys, without having to dink around with the Envelope handles.

  • Free Transform Tool

I'm using the free transform tool on a rectangle to make it smaller. My problem is both sides close in and I only want one side to close in. Is there something I can un-check somewhere to do this? It isn't a big issue if I cant do it but I'm curious just in case I need it later.

yes, it seems that Flash CC transform tool behavior is different from all previous versions.
The new behavior uses the Transformation point, which makes some sense in most cases.
It's of course very tedious to move manually this point to one side or another (moreover it seems that there is no natural snapping).
At first sight it seems that Adobe broke a valid and useful feature,... but finally I found this:
    Solution:
If you want one side of the bounding rectangle to remain fixed, use ALT key.
With pure drawing shapes, using CTRL key offers even more control (+ skew)

  • CS3 Illustrator and Free Transform Tool

I have a problem with the function Free Transform Tool in Illustrator to OS X. After clicking on the icon Free Transform Tool object can become distorted. I got command key, I'm with the cursor in the corner, but does not work. Tried the instructions here: http://livedocs.adobe.com/en_US/Illustrator/13.0/help.html?content=WS714a382cdf7d304e7e07 d0100196cbc5f-646d.html, but it also does not work. By someone he did not know where could be the problem? Thanks a lot.

Use Effect>3D>Rotate to rotate the PNG into a perspective plane. It is not as accurate as the distortion mesh method, but it might work for you.
Alternatively, you can use the distortion mesh method and edit the mesh with the mesh tool directly. It is tedious because you'll have o move the anchor points and direction points separately (The free transform tool does this for you in one step).
A third option is to download the 30-day free trial of AICS4. You can make the distortion then open the file in CS3.
I don't have CS4 either and I am forced to keep 2 versions of Illustrator on my machine because of this bug.
Adobe should not force users to upgrade, just to get a bug fix.

  • CS4 trial - transform tool frags my graphics!!

Anybody else have problems with the transform tool? on my iMac it's instant-death to my work and messes up my icons in the dock too - it really is like throwing a frag-grenade into my computer's graphics! I have to restart my mac to restore everything back to normal.
Test this at your own risk - and I highly recommend saving anything important before you do! My first encounter with this problem was to use the lasso tool to select an area I wanted to rotate just a fraction and when I hit cmd-T everything just froze and went horrible graphically. Also I noticed that I was unable to see the selection line of the lasso tool as I was using it
24" iMac (white) running OSX v10.5.5
    2.33GHz intel core2 duo
    3GB ram
    NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT 256MB

Ok I now feel quite 'over-reactive' O_o; - just took a deep breath and tried it again (have been staying well away from the transform tool since it happened) and ...nothing - it worked like a dream - perfect! - ok so went into the gpu settings under performance prefs and I only had '3D interaction acceleration' ticked - I ticked the 'advanced drawing' box and tried again - bam! photoshop freezes and everything goes iffy. I think we found the issue! Since it happened last I have been tweaking the performance prefs to reduce brush lag so must have un-ticked it then.
for your info I have 140GB free disk space and do not have a separate scratch. I have 2GB Ram allocated to photoshop.

  • Set arbitrary origin of objects, outside "Free transform" tool?

    Hi,
With Modify≫ Transform≫ Free Transform a nice thing is that we can move the origin, unlike with other tools that the origin is the center of the image.
If I am using other tools such as the one recommended by groove25 in http://forums.adobe.com/message/4443283#4443283, is there any way I can set arbitrary origin?
    Bob

You'll notice with the Star Auto shape, for example, that when you click on the Transform tool to select it, a small black circle (the rotation point) appears in the center of the star. You can drag that circle anywhere you like to relocate the rotation point.

  • Free transform tool in Illustrator?

I have drawn a set of boxes, copy and pasted them. I now want to make them look like they vanish into the distance.
So I want to select the free transform tool then hold ctrl, sft, & Alt to make them warp.
Why wont it do it on multiple items?

In the original file, the boxes are trimmed (pathfinder tool) out of one solid shape. I then deleted the outside to leave the individual boxes, so if I select one box now they are all selected as they are cut out of one shape.
    Allreet,
If you really care to get to the bottom of this, you need to describe EXACTLY the steps you performed, and not withold pertinent information preventing anyone from replicating your situtation. The above description makes no sense, but it suggests there is more going on your file than just a few simple paths, which may very well have a bearing on the Free Transform tool seeming to fail. (It's really annoying when someone posts a question resulting in a long thread with others trying to help, only to find that pertinent information has been witheld.)
Why did you use a Pathfinder, and EXACTLY which Pathfinder did you use? (Trim does not do what you describe.) What was the "solid shape"? What was its content, if any? What EXACTLY were the other objects involved, and how many? Which were selected when you applied the Pathfinder? Did you Expand the Pathfinder, or is it still a live effect? Are there any raster images involved in this at all?
    HR,
Neither of your suggested alternate methods (FreeDistort Effect or Warp Envelope) equate to the so-called perspective distortion of the Free Transform Tool. Both of those methods simply distort the content into a "wedge" envelope. The Free Transform Tool logrithmically moves/scales anchorpoints toward/away from the so-called "vanishing point."
You can see the difference by comparing the results when performed on a grid:
Even the "perspective trick" of the Free Distort tool alone does not result in convincing perspective if not followed by other moves. Note that in the top right image, the square "floor tiles" have become grossly stretched. There is no way that the supposedly square tiles, viewed at an angle, would appear taller than their width; quite the opposite would be the case. A second vertical scaling move is required.
None of the above nor other more tedious workarounds in Illustrator come even close to the practicality and utility of the dedicated Perspective Grid toolset built many years ago into FreeHand. It was a true ground-breaking innovation in 2D vector drawing programs; the first-ever real example of how the interface in mainstream Bezier drawing programs could break free of their lamely pervasive vertical/horizontal orientation and provide an environment in which an illustrator is allowed to think like an illustrator, instead of having to continually devise workarounds to achieve what was intuitively done on paper for centuries before these lame flat-design softwares (which is all they really are) appeared.
Adobe, of course, has simply removed this ground-breaking innovation from the market. There is nothing in Illustrator nor in any of the other mainstream Bezier drawing programs that even comes close to it. Adobe has set practical 2D vector drawing development backward by 10 years.

  • Using transform tools for an entire picture

    Hi,
    Hope you're well.
In the attached photo, I've already done some transforming and cropping to the get the top of the photo to be relatively straight.
I'm pretty sure what I need to do now is find a way to get the lower left of the photo to be pushed down and to the left to both: stop the appearance of that side of the photo jutting out more and to help straighten out the white sign that says SOHO NOW OPEN so that it's flush with the top.
However, I've tried all the transform tools and none of them are making that happen for me. Any suggestions on how to go about this?
    Thanks very much.
