Adobe PSE 8 Can't Email Photos

Hello.  I'm helping a friend who is running Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 on Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium.  He wants to email
photos from within the program.  However I'm hitting two different problems:
1) If I select "Windows Mail" as my email client then I get the message:
"Elements Organizer could not finish creating your E-mail message.  Alternatively, you can use the Adobe E-mail Service via the Elements Organizer Preferences Dialog."
2) Ok so I select Adobe e-mail service.  If I try that then when we try and hit next to send the message the program freezes.  A new hidden window spawns called "New Message".  It will sit like that forever.  If I kill the pse 8 "New Message" window then pse 8 unfreezes but no email is ever sent.
I do computer support for a living so I'm comfortable around one.  Here the things I tried:
1) Found an Adobe knowledge base that acknowleged a limitation with windows 7 "Windows Live Mail" (instead of Vista's "Windows Mail").  The KB had me inject a few registry keys that told your default mail client were the dlls were for windows live mail.  This did not resolve the issue.
2) Uninstalled/Reinstalled PSE 8. Still both problems remained.
3) Whacked every unneed applications/process still no love.
4) Checked for a proxy inteferring with adobe email service.  No proxy settings set
5) Reset the preferences file for PSE8
6) I setup a test machine at home with a fresh install of windows 7 and a fresh install of Adobe PSE 8.  The email through Windows Live Mail still didn't work.  I'm convinced its unsupported by PSE8 on Windows 7 64 bit but Adobe Customer Service told me otherwise.  Unfortunately I wasn't at the computer at the time I called them to try troubleshooting with them.  However the Adobe e-mail service did work on my test machine so there must be something preventing it on my friend's machine (permissions, corruption, dependency missing?)
I'm up for any suggestions.

I have followed similar approaches as you have outlined in your post.  I spoke with the Adobe techs and was told Adobe is aware of the failing and I quote, "We are working on a fix and hope to have it implemented within the next six month."
Bad news that was two (2) years ago. As of this writing and unless a "fix" has been implemented that I am not aware of, Adobe PSE software will not run an Adobe e-mail program on Windows XP or 7.
I submit a working remedy that being to use one of the two (2) remaining alternatives included in the PSE 8 software package.
Not intending to be boring but to be sure we are on the same page, go to Edit, select Preferences, select sharing, in the e-mail Settings box I have selected the Microsoft Outlook option. I tried Windows mail and it gave my system a few problems so I went back to Outlook.
An annoyance is the Recipients once entered are entered in a temporary fashion and must be re-entered each time I shut the PSE 8 down. Another deficiency awaiting the miraculous cure that now appears to be two (2) years over due.
Please note, be sure to have Outlook mail up and running so you can monitor the transmission progress.
As an aside my system is running Windows 7.

Thanks "Old Toad" .... I tried what you suggested: I erased the email accounts, re-booted, re-entered the email settings and changed the the email client to Mail (instead of iPhoto). I still have the message " email server didn't recognize your username/password combination"...... so frustrating and probably something so simple..... but I can't figure it out! I did clean-up everything, cookies/cashes, I did a "Safe Boot", just in case.... still not able to send email via iPhoto, instead I have to drag the photo from iPhoto onto the desktop then attach it to an email.... way too many steps!!!!
And what email client are you using in the successful (if too many step) process?

  • I can't email photos from iPhoto on Yosemite IMAC

I have recently downloaded Yosemite and now I can't email photos from my IMAC. Has anyone else experienced this and solved the problem?

in the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete your e-mail account and reenter it
    OR
IMHO the better solution is to set Apple mail as the email client in the iPhoto preferences

I updated iPhoto this morning. And now I can't email photos directly from iPhoto. Whats that all about?

Which iPhoto version did you update to?
If it is iPhoto 9.6 open iPhoto's preferences, go to the Accounts pane and delete the email account.
Now quit iPhoto, relaunch, and add the account back.
You may have to restart the Mac for this to have effect.
If you are using iPhoto as Mail client, you may want to switch to Mail as the email client in iPhoto's General preference pane.
This has been much more reliable in the past and less trouble.

  • Hi, I can't email photos from iphoto as the email server doesn't recognise my password / username combination... any ideas how i fix this?

Hi, I can't email photos from iphoto as the email server doesn't recognise my password / username combination... any ideas how / where i fix this?

Go to iPhoto's Accounts preference pane and delete the email account there.  Then add it back again.
If that fails you can set Mail at the email client for iPhoto in iPhoto's General preference pane. Mail is more reliable, gives you a sent copy and has better access to your contacts. It also has photo templates if you need them.  They are in the stationary selection menu.

  • Can not email photo's

The new version of IPHOTO does not let you email pictures without using a templet. Also in the new version you do not have the option to email a pic to someone and pick from the 3 different sizes like in IPHOTO 09. This is a major problem. Apple why would you take that functionality away. I had to reinstall ILIFE 09. It was just to much trouble to email someone a simple picture. Apple please fix this so people can install and use the software. I am going to try and get my money back. I am sure the new version has some great improvements but the email issue is a major problem

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Terry is too modest to add this to his post but he's posted a method of creating a service for iPhoto to be able to select photos in iPhoto and send them in Mail pretty much like we used to. The how to is described in this topic: Emailing photos via Apple Mail client (like we always used to be able.

  • I can't email photos from my iPhone 4s, although I used to on my Iphone 3Gs

    Hi,
I set up my new iPhone 4s, and now I can't email a photo from my camera roll to anyone.  It was fine with my iPhone 3Gs.  Thanks in advance.

    Note the 'Import All' button
Or, as in every single other application on your Mac:
    Click to select
Command-click to add to a selection
For contiguous items: Click the first, then hold the Shift key and click the last, all in between will be selected
    etc

  • Can't email photo's

Since doing the update on my iphone 4s I haven't been able to email photo's. Can send other email but just not email my photo's. Anyone else with this issue or know how to fix it?

    Hi Lori:
Thanks for that tip. I tried it on my iPhoto 6 and it worked.... almost. It did let me select AOL from the list, but it won't actually load AOL after selecting my photo. However, if I have AOL open already, it works like a charm.
Maybe there's some other trick. Do I need to restart the system or repair permissions? Thanks again.

  • How can I email photos from iphoto '11?

I am having trouble emailing photos from iphoto '11.  When I put the recipients address in, it disappears when I click "send" and I get some message about "key chain" and iphoto wants to use my confidential information????    What I ended up doing is dragging and dropping the photo into the email, but I don't want to have to do that all the time.  I just got this MacBook Pro and iphoto program so am experiencing a learning curve.  I must be doing something wrong.  Is it safe to "always allow" this "key chain" info?
    Thanks, you wonderful community.
    Sheila
Update!   I just tried this again by "allowing" for this one photo.  I'm not sure what I'm allowing, but the photo was sent this time.  Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Sheila

Sharing you are allowing the email to be sent.
Your SMTP has a password and it is confidential, if you do not agree it does not have access to that password.

How are you emailing the photo?
Are you selecting the photo in the photo album, then on the bottom left you will see the arrow icon click on that then it gives you option, when you click email photo - what happens?

  • Can't email photos using PSE 11 or 12

I just got a new Windows 8 computer and dowmloaded PSE 12, and transferred my catalog from Revel. At first  I couldn't get the verification code to work.  I kept getting an error message saying the email could not be sent. I reinstalled PSE11 and had the same problem.  Then I changed the email address I was using from AOL to GMAIL to see if that helped. Voila!!   I was able to use the verification code successfully, but now when I try to send a picture, the little blue circle keeps spinning indefinitely but the picture never gets sent. :-(

    Hi,
There appears to a problem when running under Windows 8 in that the new message box hides.
When you see the spinning circle, look at the taskbar to see if the organizer has grown another task. Hover over the icon on the taskbar to shown the two images, right click on the right hand image and then select maximize. That should show the message ready for sending.
    Good luck.
