Adobe Reader 10.1.2 will not print on my system

I have Reader 10.1.1 on my Windows 7 Asus laptop.  It rins very well.  Twice this weekend I have updated to 10.1.2 and both times I lost the ability to print anything.  I restored the computer using the standard Windows restore and I am back printing with 10.1.1.  In the discussion threads I see similar complaints about dupex printing but none as complete as my situation.  The system shows the printing progress box and the green bar never progresses and the computer does not react at all.  The printer is an HP 3210.  I am single sided printing any number of pages.

  • Adobe Reader 10.1.3 Will Not Print on Epson 3800

I know it says printing problems solved, but today I wanted to print some tax forms and the dialog got as far as showing the file loading into the printer after accepting the Preview. Then it stopped. So at least for the Epson 3800 on Win 7, it won't work. However, it did print on an Epson Workforce printer on XP SP3. Both computers have the latest update.
One difference: with the 3800, I get asked if I want to save it and I have to say yes. The save is another file this time the extension is .prn which nobody can read. Or print.
I have the latest driver on the 3800, and it works in CS6 fine and also Open Office.

    Followup:
I checked out another form  and got the following notification:
After clicking OK, I also cannot print. In fact, I can find no Acrobat file that will print. It sure looks like it's the printing capabilities that are no longer enabled!

  • I have the latest version of Adobe Reader and I still can not print adobe reader documents on my Mac Air laptop but I can print any other type of file or document?

What settings need to be changed in order to print in Adobe Reader?

Thank you for your kind and thoughtful input.
My Adobe reader is the most current one that's out there per Adobe.
    Something like XII  or higher.
As for my Outlook, it's MS Outlook 2003, and I believe it's Express Outlook.
If I disable the Protected Mode, per your suggestion, maybe that will work.
    I'll try it.
Thanks again, and if you have any other ideas, I would appreciate your

    Thank you.

  • Adobe Reader 9.3.3 will not display documents w/ OS 10.6.4 Any Help?

I have a new MacBook Pro w/ OS 10.6.4. & Safari 5.0.1 Right out of the box Adobe Reader would not display documents. I downloaded Adobe Reader 9.3.3 & installed. When attempting to see pdf files on Safari OR pdf files on my hard drive, all I will get is a dark grey screen. Blank. No message. No errors. My older G4 iMac has no problems. Only the Mac Book Pro with latest OS. I noticed that the Adobe web site listed version 9.3.3 available for Intel Mac OS 10.6.3. I also uninstalled Adobe then tried new download/installs several times, rebooting system after each uninstall and download. Does anyone have any idea what the issue is and how to fix it?

Carolyn: I was able, through more research in the discussion groups, to find a solution that resolved my problem! In the HD>applications folder>safari>get info I checked the "open in 32 bit mode" box. Then I went to Adobe Reader>preferences>Internet and unchecked the box "display PDF in browser using" [Adobe Reader 9.3.3]. I then closed my Safari Browser, restarted the computer and, happy days are here again! On my older G5 I only had to set the preferences on the Adobe Preferences, as Safari 5.0.1 only appears to work in 32 bit mode, as the 32 bit mode check box was not there. You may want to pass this on to other users with the same or similar problems.

  • Adobe Reader 8.1.1 will not download

I am using Vista 32bit. Following is the message I receive:
This program cannot display the web page
    Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The web site is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.
    What you can try:
Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another web site to make sure you are connected.
    Re type the address.
Go back to the previous page.
    More information
This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:
    Internet connectivity has been lost.
The web site is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the web site's domain.
THEN - I receive the following message:
The license Agreement was not accepted. The application will now quit.
I GET TWO ICONS - 1.) ADOBE READER INSTALL (which appears to install) and 2.) ADOBE READER (which when asked, generates the messages above).
I have open up my fire wall, checked for cookies, tried IE, then downloaded Mozilla Firefox.
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO GET THIS PROGRAM TO WORK? I would greatly appreciate any assistance because I have spent the entire day installing and uninstalling, trying every scenario I could think of. Need help Please! Thanks!

Try turning off ALL of the security programs that you have on your computer. Next, make certain that you completely uninstall and remove everything reader (Folders, files and references elsewhere). Any removal that you do , including Registry editing is at your own risk! I do not use Vista, but the idea is the same as Win XP. Go to the Adobe site and download the program -do NOT allow the extra item to be included. The file is 20.8 megs. Reboot the computer and have NO other programs running. From you download folder or wherever you put the file, you can run the installer.
Remember that ALL security must be turned off during the install. You can reenable it after you have Reader 8.1.1. running. ANother thing-you do not mention if you have Acrobat installed as well-there are several known issues concerning the 2 running together.
Hope this idea works for you

  • Adobe Reader 10.1.1 will not open .pdfs

Adobe was working just fine when I was using it earlier this morning until I logged off to let another employee briefly use my computer. Since then I keep receiving an error message that says "Adobe Reader  has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience." I uninstalled and then re-installed Adobe but I still receive the same error message. How can I fix this problem?

Adobe has a recent(2012-01-09)KB article http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/860/cpsid_86063.html entitled "Protected Mode troubleshooting". There is a similar article (2011-09-12) http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/901/cpsid_90161.html entitled Protected View troubleshooting.
I have had issues with Adobe Reader X hanging (not responding) due to a conflict between an antivirus program and the Adobe Reader X Protected Mode/Protected Viewer sandbox features.
khwajakhurram replied to my query suggesting unchecking the default Adobe Reader X Preferences >3D & Multimedia> "Enable hardware rendering for legacy video cards" setting and this solves the issues!
What is surprising is that Adobe Reader X's 3D & Multimedia settings report that the alternative preferred renderer modes are either software or DirectX9 .....on a Vista machine with DirectX11.
The video card on this machine is definitely not legacy but a recent quality Nvidia produced card. That is also the case on the other machines with the issue I have reported.
I went a step further and I have found that performance is vastly improved by changing from the default preferred renderer mode of DirectX9 to the alternative Software setting.
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/860/cpsid_86063.html mentions that "certain configurations of anti-virus software that have not yet white-listed AcroRd32.exe" are "Unsupported configurations for Reader running in Protected Mode". Therefore I have also excluded AcroRd32.exe from virus scanning.
I am now able to use both Adobe Reader X's Protected Mode and Advanced Security without issue and performance is vastly improved. I am certain that your issues will also be solved.
notafan777, on another thread, suggested that theses problems are due to a legacy of sloppy code and this certainly seems to be the case here with these very odd default settings influencing performance to such an extent.

You can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

  • Adobe Reader 11.0.9 will not open PDF's from network shares

Having an issue on computers running 11.0.8 that auto update to 11.0.9.  Opening a PDF from a network share that previously worked will no longer, giving the following error: "There was an error opening this document. The network path was not found".  I tried backing off to 11.0.8 again, as that's what get.adobe.com/reader is serving up, but it pops it right back to .9 after a few minutes as auto-updates are on.
Network path was put in the Security (Advanced) section, even turned Protected Mode off.
    Ideas?

Can you please send process monitor logs:
To take process monitor log follow the below steps:
    1) Download process monitor from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-in/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx
    2) Launch process monitor.
    3) Now try to open the PDF file at network share. It will not open with the network error so just cancel the error dialog.
    4) Save process monitor logs as a .pml file.
    5) Send it to me.
Try above workflows with Protected Mode checkbox checked.

  • Adobe fillable form in browser will not print

We access any adobe fillable form in our web browser (verses opening adobe reader first). This form cannot be saved so that way people don't accidentally over write the original. Recently, several people have not been able to print the filled out form, it just doesn't do anything after clicking print and selecting the printer. They can print from the same filled form that's been opened in adobe reader.
The only fix we can find is running a repair on adobe reader then rebooting the computer, which takes way too long, plus the problem resurfaces a few days later. We are using Adobe Reader X for sure on one of the computers, but I'm not 100% sure if that's what we have on all of them having this issue.
    Any help?

I have updated one computer to 10.1.13 and protected mode has been off the whole time, but it still has this issue. It would not print the PDF form from IE earlier today, but when I took a look at it, it had no issue. It was strange how it resolved itself, but it should work while the customer is needed something printed.
There was a second computer with the exact same issue, this time with Adobe Reader X 10.1.7, that also resolved itself once I looked at it.

  • Adobe Reader and Internet Explorer will not load the lastest version of a PDF off a website.

Even after trying to force a refresh with Ctrl - F5 the newest version of the PDf will not load.
We have tried clearing IE cache and restarting, and this does not fix the issue.
This issue is showing up on mutliple user accounts.
This is happening on IE 9 and 10, and several different version of Adobe read 9 and 10.

Okay.  If you can provide an external example for me to look at I will know more.  In the meantime, let's start by determining if this really is related to a locally cached file.  Instead of clearing the IE cache, use the Windows Disk Clean-Up tool (in Start > All programs > Accessories > System Tools) to clean up as much as possible.  With IE and Reader closed, I would certainly check "Temporary Internet Files" "Offline Webpages" and "Temporary files" and you can clean-up more if you want.  See if this solves the problem (it should).  If this solves the problem then at least we will have confirmed that there is something on cached locally that it causing the problem.

  • Adober Reader 8.1.2 will not open new page links to .pdf file

Since upgrading to version 8, I cannot open a pdf file (from IE) if it opens in a new window. It opens local files, and links on pages that go directly to the pdf file, but not if the link opens the file in a new window. This means that I cannot open such things as my VISA statement, etc. What now?
I have Windows XP on a Dell desktop. If it makes any difference, I also have Adobe Pagemaker 7.0 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 loaded on this computer.
I really need this to work.
    Thanks.

Nothing showed in the Event Viewer log. However, just to be thorough:
    1. I uninstalled reader 6.0.1 and rebooted. (all pdf became unassociated)
    2. I deleted any acr*.tmp anywhere on my computer.
    3. I deleted The 6.0 folder from the application updates path
    4. I deleted the 6.0 folder from my install path.
    5. I deleted the Adobe folder from my temp directory.
    6. I ran CCleaner, cleaned app files and registry and repeated.
    7. I rebooted and repeated step 6.
    8. I opened Event Viewer, backed up and cleared all events from the log.
    9. I installed 8.1.2 (all pdf became associated with Acrobat Reader)
    10. Under Event Viewer/Application the event log displays: Product: Adobe Reader 8.1.2 -- Installation operation completed successfully.
    11. Under Event Viewer/System the event log displays: The Windows Installer service entered the stopped state.
    12. I tried to launch: the shortcut, a pdf and the exe file.
    13. There are no additional events added to any level of the event log.
    14. There is no indication of activity from Reader in the Task Manager: Applications or Processes. It never appears in either.
As a final note, I know the 8.1.2 install file is not corrupted because I copied it to another computer where it installed and runs just fine.
