Where in Adobe Reader under "Edit - Preferences - Internet settings" do I find "Display PDF in browser"?

I had previously seen the link you gave me. However it gave no assistance as it provided no link to any of the offered solutions or advice of how to use the advice
Your reply would have been helpful, if you had told me, what it took me another +/- 30 mins to find out, that the link was in V10.
You can now help me by advising why was it removed and what alternate feature V11 uses to achieve the same purpose?

Is this in the signature appearance? If so you can customize signature appearance so that it contains only items that you want. In Acrobat X you do that in Edit->Preferences->Security, "New" in the "Appearances" section.

My Premiere CS4 freezes when try to edit preferences/general settings/start new project

First, sorry for my english, i'm argentinian. I got this wired error every time i try to start a new project, click on "new project" tab, and it freezes with not even show me the list of formats, then i have to force to close program. The same when i change something on preferences, and hit ACEPT, frezees. The same when try to enter to GENERAL settings of a project. Tryed everithing, reset perferences file, re-install, once i unninstall it, try the clean utility and it tell's me that is no entry in the registry with an adobe program.

hi, no, i don't have any capture card. And plugins, just magic bullet looks 3. I tryed to delete all plugins too before with no response. I'll try the saving location thing, then tell you how it goes. In the other hand, i always do everything like this, and suddenly this happens. Holly PC's.

Do you have any capture cards in the computer? For example, Blackmagic, Aja, Matrox, CineForm, etc.
If so, it's software might be causing the problem. Go to "Programs And Features" in the Vista Control Panel to remove the software for the capture card. Restart the computer and then try again.
Did you install any plug-ins for Premiere?
If so, remove them and see if the problem goes away.
Also, where are you saving your projects? Try saving one to your Desktop and see if you still have the problem. If you don't, then it could be a problem with your save location.

Hi Chris,
The Trusted Sites cannot be added using Group Policy Preferences. But you can add it by native group policy.
The group policy settings are here:
User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Internet Control Panel\Security Page\Trusted Sites Zone
If you really want to use the GPP, please manually add the registry keys through GPP.

I want to disable the Edit->Preferences->Network->Settings->Noproxy option
Every user user should access internet only via proxy settings what i should do for that and also should not be allowed to change the option

Note that on Linux, the default is to use the "Use the system proxy settings" setting for the connection.
You can look at these prefs to lock:

Adobe reader won't open and closes internet when trying to open a pdf

I'm not sure when it started, but for the last 2 weeks every time I try to open a pdf file on the internet it stops and says "internet Explorer has stopped working" and will then close the window. I thought it was just a cable (internet connection) problem since we had been having issues in that area, but now that's fixed and I still cannot open a pdf on the internet. I uninstallled and restarted and re-installled Adobe Reader and I can't even open Adobe Reader much less a pdf from the internet. Please help! I've also tried installing Safari and it has the same results. I'm sure it has to do with my Reader, but I just don't know how to fix it.

I finally uninstalled Adobe Reader and found a free pdf reader program. At least now I can save the file I want to look at and can
open it with the other program. Thanks for all your suggestions and help. I learned a lot of new things. Sorry Adobe... your loss

How do I get Adobe reader to work with Mozilla or internet explorer? I cannot open files unless I download to my desktop.

When I try to read PDF files I get a message that says" The Adobe Acrobat Reader that is running cannot be used to view PDF files in a web browser. Exit and try again. This happens with bot Internet Explorer and Mozilla. I can only open if I download the document to my desktop.

How can I get Adobe Reader for a PC with no Internet access?

I have a neighbour who doesn't have Internet access. I have downloaded the installer but the installer requires Internet access. Can I install it on my computer and copy the program file or folder to my neighbours computer?

You can download the Adobe Reader 10.0.0 installer .EXE file from here:
ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.0.0/en_US/AdbeRdr1000_en_US.exe
Once you've downloaded it, you can burn it to a disc or copy it to a thumbdrive to bring to the PC that's offline.

How do I install Adobe Reader onto a computer with no internet?

I have a computer running Windows 8 with no internet connection. Is there a way to install Adobe Reader onto the machine with either CD or a USB drive?
Also, would there be a simple way to keep Adobe Reader updated offline?

Adobe Reader 9.x & 8.x "requires Internet Explorer 6"

Friends PC in Italy had Reader 9.0 (Italian) installed and working fine. It has had Reader in various versions Italian & English over the last 5 years with no problems.
Tried to update it to latest/securist version but got an error message that the update had failed in Italian (which I don't read)..
Decided to uninstall and reinstall the latest version instead.
Uninstall went through fine via control panel with no errors.
Installing the 9.1.x Italian or English for XP SP3 (and also the 8.x.x) all fail every time with, the English version error message saying (and the Italian also) every time at c99% of the Nosso Adobe download manager:
"Adobe Reader 9.1 requires Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater. Please visit www.microsoft.com to upgrade Internet Explorer."
XP is XP Pro SP3 (Italian)
MS IE about says 7.0.5730.13
Belarc advisor reports Microsoft Corporation - Internet Explorer Version 7.00.6000.16850
Have followed the MS KB 917964 tips to (a) reset IE7 and (b) Reinstall IE7 with no change in Adobe Reader symptoms = stuck without Reader which is not a happy place to be.

Thanks, MK. I was hoping the fix would be as simple as modifying an entry in the registry but everything seems to be in the proper order this far. I have seen a resolution to this issue which involved using a program named Orca to modify the MSI installer package so that it foregoes checking for IE but that should be totally un-necessary and it a fairly technical approach. I can provide you those directions if you are interested but I'd rather have you check a few others things first to see if we can actually get to the root of the issue.
First, let's try running a few Microsoft tools to hopefully resolve any errant registry or disk issues:
Cleanup temporary files:
1. Open My Computer
2. Right-click the C:\ drive > click Properties
3. Click Disk Cleanup > place a checkmark in all options except "Compress Old Files" > click OK
Repair file system issues:
1. Open My Computer
2. Right-click the C:\ drive > click Properties
3. Click the Tools tab > click Check Disk
4. Place a checkmark in "Automatically fix file system errors"
Repair registry:
1. Disable any anti-virus software that may be installed
2. Go to: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-US/center/whatsnew.htm
3. Click Full Service Scan
4. Install any necessary plugins when prompted
5. Run the complete scan when prompted and allow it to fix any issues it finds
Since we are dealing with an Italian version of the OS, the site may redirect to the Italian version of the site (hopefully one exists). The OneCare Live safety scanner is meant to be a security tool for removing malware (not great at that part of its job) but it also includes a registry repair tool that has resolved many odd registry issues I have encountered since finding the tool.
Finally, if none of the above fixes the issue, Adobe has a tool named CS3Cleaner which removes all traces of the Adobe SC3 suite. In doing so, it has proven to also remove most, if not all traces of ANYTHING Adobe. Uninstall all Adobe products prior to using this tool and see if it doesn't clean up any miscreant traces of the corrupted file and/or registry that may be causing the issue.

My bag of tricks is getting thinner so if this doesn't fix the issue, I will have to dig deep to see what else I can come up with.

Adobe Reader X crashes when connected to Internet

I have several systems which I've updated to Adobe Reader X. On *one* of the systems, Reader crashes ~10 seconds after opening it. This happens whether I open a document or just the application with no document. Platform is WinXP-32. There are no error dialogs, the window just goes away. There's nothing in the WIndows Event log either.
Using sysinternals procmon, it seems to crash when either 1) reading the IE history (why is it doing that?) 2) due to the response it gets over HTTP.
Since I saw network activity, I disabled my internet connection and opened Reader X -- it does not crash!
I've tried:
     - deleting my IE history and cookies; didn't help.
     - uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling
     - removing Adobe folders in %APPDATA% and %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data.
     - disabling the auto update feature
None of which seemed to help.

I've just deployed this to ~250 system an I'm randomly noticing this problem on a number of systems. It appears to be happinging mostly on the Windows 7 64-bit systems however I'm seeing it on a few Windows XP systems.
I tried disabling networking on one system still with no avail. It did appear to last a little longer before Adobe Reader X went to Not Responding and then crashed. Because of that I won't post a packet capture however any more info on this will be great.
UPDATE: Disabling Protected Mode fixes the problem. This is accomplished with the following registry key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\Privileged]
"bProtectedMode"=dword:00000000
This however bypasses the new security features that Adobe Reader X provides for you. I don't know which is worse disabling it or having people complain about reader not functioning......
For now it looks like 9.x updates is the better corse.

Adobe Reader 9 won't download off internet

I have adobe reader 9 and everytime I try to download a pdf off the internet, nothing comes up. Should I download the Adobe Reader 9.3? Is that the problem? or Should I try something else?

We are having the same problem with my wife's netbook running Windows 7 starter. I have uninstalled adobe reader 9 and downloaded it again but still the same problem.

Latest Adobe Reader DC cannot render editable forms

I just wanted to have a discussion on the recent adobe reader DC. Has anyone else the below similar issues?
I created Adobe interactive formss from WD and triggered it using IE as well as Chrome. I had Adobe reader DC installed. As per Adobe this is a latest product and covers all the features of the previous products.
But I never got an editable form in Chrome. I somehow got an editable in IE. But when I used my SUBMIT button, the control never went back to SAP WD.
I struggled a lot and finally uninstalled Adobe DC and installed adobe reader 9.1.
I was able to successfully generate the form in IE in editable mode and the same SUBMIT button triggered data back to SAP WD.
But chrome could still not render the output.
Has anyone faced the same issue? Whats wrong with the latest version of adobe reader DC ? Adobe claims it to be the smartest release with all features integrated.

Thanks for the heads-up. You saved me quite a few days of my efforts.
Its extremely hard to get older versions of reader 9.1 which works fine to my knowledge. my 9.1 got auto updated to 11 and now the app is not quite reliable. Sometimes it opens in IE and sometimes it says 'plz close othr sessions to open here' - strange.
Another crucial road block is that my app has to be integrated to iphone too, but strangely there is only reader dc available in itunes. So EDITABLE form is not working either in my iphone - safari or chrome
SAP or adobe must do something on this since its stopping a lot of our PoCs.
