Adobe Reader 11.0.03 update

Simple nuisance really - I had Adobe Reader 11.0.03 update installed when I first received the notification.  It successfully installed, so I believe when I select the About menu item and it indicates such.
Why then, every week since then, I get an update notification for Adobe Reader 11.0.03.  I installed it every time for the first couple weeks thinking it was a valid update and not paying attention to the release number.  The release number has been 11.0.03 for quite a while and I now realize something is not right.
FWIW - Adobe Reader works fine on my machine.
Thanks in advance for any insight.
KR

If you're using Windows, 11.0.5 is the latest version (11.0.4 was a software update and 11.0.5 was a security fix)
You can download the FULL installer here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
FIRST, you'll want to download and run the Adobe Cleaner to remove the old version.  http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

    Hi mac guy,
Please check out the below forum post--

  • Adobe Reader and Acrobat Pro updates for 11.0.10 being pushed out through SolarWinds Patch Manager are not being recognized as applicable.

I am trying to update our Adobe Reader and Acrobat Pro to 11.0.10 using the default MSP packages with SolarWinds Patch Manager.  All of the systems keep reporting as 'NOT APPLICABLE'.  All of the workstations have Reader11.0.09, with about 10% still on 11.0.08 (due to the fact that the reader 11.0.09 package only patched about 2/3 of the systems).  All systems that have Acrobat Pro are 11.0.09.
In SolarWinds I am using the "Adobe Systems, Inc. Packages" node.
    Adobe Systems Acrobat 11 Catalog
    Adobe Systems Reader 11 Catalog
and the SW Patch Manager downloads the msp's straight from Adobe.
I have checked the msp's manually and they will update at least back to 11.0.07 in Reader, and 11.0.0 in Acrobat Pro. (I had an old stand alone system that still had Reader 11.0.07, and I did a new install of Pro and went straight to update 11.0.10)
The SolarWinds Tech said, "Okay. That content is produced by Adobe. Any questions concerning applicability logic or diagnosing why a package reports as NotApplicable when that's not expected would need to be directed to Adobe, as they are solely responsible for that content and its behavior".
I am new to SolarWinds Patch Manager, and any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you are attempting to use the SCUP catalogs outside of the MS solution.  I can almost guarantee you that Adobe didn't test it if it's not referenced in the ETK:  11   SCCM-SCUP — Enterprise Administration Guide
That being said there "should" be logging available in any deployment solution.   Since I am not familiar with Solar-Winds particular solution I can't say if it logs errors and how verbose those logs might be.    If you have logs then post the output and the forum members "might" be able to assist you.

  • Adobe Reader not working after update to version XI

I have had Adbobe Reader installed on my PC for ages and have been using this to view my PDF files without any issues. However, Adobe Reader updated automatically to version XI a few days ago. Since then, I have been completely unable to open Adobe Reader at all. The screen does not load up fully with only the top menu bar visible and the remainder a blank grey screen with all menu options inactive or greyed out, and sometimes crashes and closes automatically after a few seconds. I am unable to view any PDF file, even those which I previous viewed with no issues. I have tried running the Adober Cleaner tool but this has not helped. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Reader numerous times with no success. I have also tried reinstalling previous versions of Adober Reader but have idential issues with these too. I have tried checking system compatability using the troubleshooter tool but this appears to be fine, and have also tried disactivating my AntiVirus/firewall software (Norton 360). I am running a Windows 7 operating system in English (UK). Any help gratefully received as Adobe will not offer telephone assistance as this is freeware! Thanks in advance.

You may have given up by now..  I just hope this advice helps some other user..
Have encountered this isssue several times..
several points I will note: of the machines I have worked on to date: only 1 did not have malware, all thus far have been 64bit Win7 and it seems after update to Reader 11.03..
but each so far I have:
    - Checked for and removed any malware and or strange BHO's and Toolbars
    - cleared all temp files including temporary internet
    - removed Adobe reader and ANY OTHER PDF READER and reinstalled Adobe reader
    - Checked that PDF's are associating with Adobe reader (sounds silly )
    - Started the PC in Safe Mode - check reader works
                                                 - Disabled Protected Mode in preferences: then disabled antivirus, along with most startup services and applications
                                                 - restarted in normal mode - Check PDF opens normally: 100% of time for me it worked
                                                 - re-enabled the anti-virus - restarted PC and rechecked
                                                 - re-enable services and applications by group - restart and retest
So far that is all that I have needed to do.
    All the best

  • Adobe reader 9.1.2. update failure

    I need Help.
After updating my adobe reader to 9.1.2. on a brand new Windows Vista machine, the pc keeps asking if I want to restart my computer. Well, i have done it for serverall times and still it keeps asking if i want to restart the computer or not.
Deleting 9.1.2. doesn't help. The computer says  that it is busy with adabo reader and therefore can't be deleted.  Installing a new version doesn't help either. Adobe manager says that it's already busy with installing another version af adobe reader.
Does someone knows what to do? Restarting the PC isn't the answer.
    Jacky

The Microsoft Installer Cleanup tool is your friend. Use it to remove all vestiges of Reader from the Windows Registry.

  • Adobe Reader not picking up updates in incrementally updated forms

I am trying to do incremental update on PDF form. I created two forms using Acrobat Pro. One contains an unchecked checkbox and the other contains unselected radio button. In incremental update, the controls are selected. The issue is that on opening the updated form, Adobe Reader doesn't pick up the updated objects and shows the original form with unselected controls. When I try to open the updated forms with Foxit Reader, updated contents are visible with the controls selected. What could be the issue here?
Incremental update files I created are available at
    http://www.freedrive.com/file/1309817,cb1.pdf
    http://www.freedrive.com/file/1309818,rb1.pdf

After some testing, i do find that the overrides file is working properly for my base/newly built machines. So, it must be something on a currently deployed machine, so i can fix that.. I guess technically it's working...
But, i'm noticing that the Internal AAM server it's looking at is not showing all of the updates it should,
I did see some errors of :
    Downloading http://swupdl.adobe.com/updates/oobe/aam20/mac/PhotoshopCameraRawForElements11-7.1-x64/7.3 .37/7.3.37.xml
    ******** HTTP Error*********
Failed to open remote file http://swupdl.adobe.com/updates/oobe/aam20/mac/PhotoshopCameraRawForElements11-7.1-x64/7.3 .37/7.3.37.xml
    Downloading update:  AdobeExtensionManagerCS5-5.0/5.0.1
I usually just do an incremental update (Mac Server running 10.8)
Do i need to do a Forced Update? or a 1, of re-downloading a fresh copy of everything?
It's only a couple updates, But one missing, is the latest Photoshop, which i see if i remove the overrides file, but disappears if i use the overrides file.
    Thanks.

I have already installed the updater three times. Every couple of days the updater wants to run again, even though my copy is up to date. How can I stop this?

    Hi
Please select the appropriate preferences for your Adobe Reader updater.
    Open Reader
Edit - preference (WINDOWS) or Reader - preferences (MAC)
    From Categories select Updater
    Select the suitable preferences.
in your case, you would like to select "Automatically install updates"

  • Adobe Reader Cannot Print or Update

Has anyone been able to figure out how to get Adobe Reader to print in Leopard? I have a clean install of Leopard 10.5.8 and I ran the Adobe installer from the website. For some reason the installer installs 9.1.0, even though they are up to 9.1.3 now. I run the automatic update on Adobe and it says the installation failed because the program has been modified since I installed it originally. So the version I'm running is 9.1.1. I even tried manually installing the 9.1.2 update and it still fails. It says to try uninstalling and reinstalling. I cannot locate an uninstaller on the Adobe website, so I manually deleted the program and the Application support files and preferences files, and did a clean install again. Same problem. The worst part is that 9.1.1 cannot print files, presumably due to a bug that they hopefully fixed by 9.1.3. Whenever I try to print it just says the document could not be printed and then it says no pages were selected to be printed (whether I tell it to print all pages or select pages). Anyone find a solution to this problem. Big problem if Adobe Reader cannot print!

Unfortunately, Adobe does not see fit to provide any direct support for Reader. Another fine standard set for the world of customer service.
I did find something buried in the middle of a very long thread after trying the various other fixes listed there:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/1771565#1771565
It looks like this is another example of sloppy coding and case-sensitive vs. case-insensitive file systems. I found out several weeks back that this is why I my CS wasn't working, either. While I could solve that problem with a case-insensitive disk image, this doesn't work for Reader9, which only allows installation on the startup disk. This is also the reason why I couldn't update past 9.1, as this thread details:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2086122#2086122
When I "fixed" those filenames, I was able to update to 9.1.3, but now I could no longer open the file I need for my grant submission.
Long story short, I used carbon copy cloner to clone onto a case-INsensetive external disk. I'm now booted off that, was able to install & upgrade reader to 9.1.3. I can now open my key file and I can print and even open the preferences within Reader.

  • Adobe Reader 9.3.3 Update Freezes on Processing

Freezes on 93.6% and does not proceed further.
This is just running it straight after downloading it from Adobe and also when I run the command switch "-nos_ne" to extract the contents for network customisation.

Try uninstalling, running the Microsoft Installer Cleanup tool then re-installing.

  • Adobe Reader 10.0.3 Update For Windows

Hi, following the announcement of vulnerabilities in Security Bulletin APSB11-08, I was expecting to find an MSP or MSI for Windows XP.  Currently all I can find are 9x updates.
    Please advise.

Thanks for the reply.  I'm sorry, I didn't read it carefully enough

  • Adobe Reader has it's updater icon about 20 times in my header bar (Mac OSX 10.7.4)

Anyone know how to fix it?
    Thanks!

Please post screenshot directly here in the forum, using the camera icon.  Nobody is going to look at images hosted on some dubious 3rd-party servers.

  • Can't update Adobe Reader 10.01 (Mac Version)

I am running OS 10.6.7 on a MacPro (MacPro 4,1: 8 core - - 2mx 2.93 FHz Quad-Core Xeon). I installed Adobe Reader 10.01 uneventufully. However, many times when on the web Safari says it can't find Adobe Reader to read a document and I have to locate Adobe Reader manually. This didn't happen until after I updated to Acrobat 10.01. Thinking that this might be a bug, I looked for an update for Acrobat Reader. But when I attempt to update Adobe Reader to 10.03, it goes through the motions and then gives the follolwing error message:
"The update could not be applied because the Adobe Reader application contents were modified since the original installation."
"Please reinstall Adobe Reader and check for updates again."
    "Error 1301"
I followed directions, reinstalled Adobe Reader and immediately afterwards attempted to install the update. Same error message.
I threw out the old version of Adobe Reader 10.01, downloaded it again, reinstalled it and then attempted the update, Same error message.
I've repaired permissions, used AppleJack to clean caches, used DiskWarrior to rebuild the directory. Same error message when attempting to update Adobe Reader.
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks.

REFRESH - I have this same problem. I would like to update this, since I understand there are various security fixes included with each update of Adobe Reader. Is this correct? If no one has an answer, then how can I trash the updater so I at least don't get this annoying message anymore??? It pops up EVERY STINKING DAY!!!
