Adobe Reader 11 "an internal error occurred" - Mac OS X 10.9.3

I have a user running Adobe Reader 11 on Mac OS X 10.9.3 starting today the application can not be launched. Instead the following: "an internal error occurred" is displayed.
I have already deleted all Adobe Reader files (library and application) from the system, restarted, and reinstalled the latest version from the adobe website. This did not resolve the problem. I have also repaired the system's disk permissions and verified the integrity of the boot disk.
Does anyone have any idea what a solution for this problem might be?

I'm having this same problem too

    Hi,
I've been at it the whole afternoon and still cannot find a way to get Adobe Reader to work on my macbook. (iOS 10.9.5)
I followed Mike M's instruction on this thread:

And tried to go into safe mode to install it.
    You guys found a workaround?

    nope.
did you experience the same problem and did it help?

    Hi Simon,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble logging in to ExportPDF via Reader. I've checked your account, and all is well there.
For starters, please make sure that you have the most current version of Reader installed by choosing Help > Check for Updates.
If you're still having trouble logging in via Reader, please try logging in to the web interface at https://cloud.acrobat.com.
Please let us know how it goes.

  • Adobe Reader 11 - An internal error occurred - Mac OS X 10.9.1

My system is a Mac OS X 10.9.1 which had Adobe Reader working perfectly fine.
I have downloaded and installed the NEW Adobe Reader 11 yesterday.
Every time I open a PDF from any web browser I get a "An internal error occurred" message and nothing opens.
I also get the same error message when I try to open the application from the Applications folder.
There is NO error code ssociated with the error message.
All previous Adobe Reader versions worked fine.
I deleted the "Adobe" folder from the "Library" directory, installed an older version of Adobe Reader but still get the same message.
I have said all the information I have.
Please let me know the solution.

    Files to delete:
Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe - Trash the Reader folder.
    Mac HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins - Trash the AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin files.
[user]/Library/Preferences - Trash the com.Adobe.Reader.plist file. (Hold the "Option" key when clicking "Go" from the Finder menu to access your [user]/Library folder)
Mac HD/Applications - Trash the Adobe Reader app.
    Empty the trash.
THEN download the FULL installer from here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
That should get you a "clean install" of Reader and the  plug-ins for it.

  • Adobe Reader XI internal error.

I just installed Adobe Reader XI. Now I can't print.
The message says an internal error occurred.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the product.
    i'm running Windows XP.

Try disabling Protected Mode [Adobe Reader | Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
Also try Print as Image (Advanced button on Print panel).

  • When trying to open reader - An internal error occurred

I have just downloaded Acrobat Reader X 10 to my laptop, which is running Windows Vista. When I try to open the program, either through the menus, or by trying to open a pdf document, I ger the message "An internal error occurred". No other information is contained in the error message.
I had a previous version of Acrobat reader that worked fine.
Has anyone else seen this, or have an ideas how to fix it?

Run this Microsoft Fix and then uninstall/reinstall Reader X again: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
A similar problem for another user was successfully solved using the above method. See: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4048255#4048255

  • Adobe reader "An internal error has occurred."

Using OSX10.10.1 on Mac Air. I can not open Adobe reader.   It responds with "An internal error has occurred." I have uninstalled Reader and removed to trash all files from libraries related to reader, emptied the trash and have repaired permissions using disc utilities.  I have reinstalled Reader but still get the same result.  I repeated the process.  Then same result.  What do I do now?

    Can you answer the following,
    1. Is this issue seen with Citrix Xenapp 5 server also ? i.e. what happens when you open up a pdf in outlook from server machine.
    2. Also, how frequently is the error seen on the client machine. ?
    3. What's the behavior of opening pdf file outside outlook ?

  • Adobe reader x internal error has occurred

Hi all, I'm Nicola from Italy and work as IT technician in a company.
Today we found that Reader X (10.1.0) cannot view correctly some (but not all) last year PDFs, but 8 and 9 can!
When we open file, Reader X says a generic "Si è verificato un errore interno" ("Internal error has occured"), and we cannot see text in file, but only a part of the header logo. If we go to Edit > Select all we can see text in PDF, but still have problem in scrolling (missing text again) and printing (nothing to print).
Is there an option to check? Or an enchantment to do? Can we make 10 works like 9?
    Thank you all
    Nicola

  • Windows 8 Adobe Reader XI internal error

    Hi,
I have created a junction link for a developer user to ensure that the main ssd drive does not become too full.
The main Administrator user that does not have a junction link in the user directory, Adobe Reader works fine.
The developer user that does have a junction link in the user directory, Adobe Reader fails with the indication "internal error". There are no entries in the event viewer indicating why the error occurred.
I was able to track this down as I found a statement indicating protected mode has been improved for Reader XI.
Could someone indicate what securities or permissions are required of the file system to make reader work? All other apps including the metro ones are working fine. Is there an option to set to relax the improved protected mode feature for Reader XI?
Thank you for any input how to resolve this issue.
    jonw

I executed acrord32.exe from the command line where surprisingly a dialog box with radio buttons openned and indicated that adobe reader could not open in protected mode due to a system incompatibility. Really? Couldn't output this somewhere in event viewer, or on initial startup? Wow.
Selected always disable protected mode for the user. Now he can read pdf documents.
    Thanks,
    jonw

  • Error 1935 - Adobe Reader (11) - An error occurred during the installation of assembly component - Windows 7

    NOT RESOLVED
It seems to be a problem with my windows installation. I will re-install at a later date since installing PDF viewing programs the only issue.
    Problem:
While installing Adobe Reader XI using the install_reader11_en_mssd_aaa_aih.exe from Adobe Reader Install for all versions and AdbeRdr11000_en_US.msi from a forum post on here. Error 1935 occurs using both installers and causes the setup to fail and initiate rollback.
    Additional information:
In Programs & Features list there is no adobe reader as you can see:
This is pretty much a clean install of windows on which I have installed: Adobe Flash Player (16), Steam + some games, Chrome, Skype and some Visual C++ Redistributables, .NET Framwork, Drivers for GPU, CPU, Motherboard and USB devices.
    Error:
Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component
    {B708EB72-AA82-3EB7-8BB0-D845BA35C93D}.
    HRESULT: 0x80070308
    System:
    Windows 7 x64 - installed on a SSD.
    Motherboard: ASRock Z97 Extreme 4
    GPU: Gigabtye - G1 Gaming GTX 970
    CPU: Intel Core - i7 4770K @4.00 GHz
    RAM: 16GB Kingston Hyper X (8x2)
    Steps taken:
    1. I have cleared the transaction log using command prompt with the following command:
        fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\
Restarting the computer and trying to install Adobe Reader 11 results in the same error.
    2. Restarting the computer, disabling Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and installing Adobe Reader 11 results in the same error.
    3. Chrome has "allow all sites to run JavaScript" checked.
    Thanks
    Edit:
I have attempted to install an earlier version (10.1.4) of Adobe Reader - Same error occurs.
    Edit 2:
I'm going to look for some alternatives for the mean time
    Edit 2.1:
These alternative programs are failing to install as well. Multiple errors, I now assume the issue is with my windows installation.

  • Reader XI: An Error Occurred While Sending Email

Please help.  I am working on a Windows XP computer (SP3, fully updated) with Microsoft Office Outlook set as the default email.
I recently updated this computer to Adobe Reader XI.  Whenever the user tries to "Send File as Eamil Attachment" (either using the button or using the File menue option) they get an Adobe Reader message "An error occured while sending email."
I've checked every setting I can think of.  Under Preferences - Internet - Internet Settings - Programs, her email is set as Outlook.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe.  I've tried removing and re-adding the Outlook account.  I've chcekd for viruses and malware.  What else could be causing this problem?  I haven't seen this happen on any of our other XP machines.

    hi,
I have updated from reader x to xi, now outlook 2010 users can no longer attach emails, this use to work fine.  I posted this issue elsewhere where someone had trouble with outlook 2003.  Outlook either opens up with no attachment or nothing happens at all.
    If can help
    thanks

  • Reader X: Internal error when copying to clipboard

I get an "internal error" copying to clipboard (Reader 10.1.1, Windows 7 64-bit) when TightVncviewer (V2.0.4) is running simultaneously.
I assume TightVncviewer monitors the clipboard to copy the actual content to the remote machine.
Closing TightVncviewer resolves the issue. However, I need to use that tool frequently so that's an annoying bug.
As a workaround, I downgraded to Reader 9.

Both me and my friend installed Adobe reader on our mac books this week, and it doesn't work. The only thing that happens when we try to open the program is an text message with "Internal error occured". And that's it. The PDF-file is not the problem, and I have the latest version of Mac operating system, so that's not the problem eighter. Mac support told me to contact you. Please help me as soon as possible.
