Adobe Reader 8.2 - setting of Reader-Window
Hello,
I use Adobe Reader 8.2, Windwos XP + SP2, IE 6.0 + SP2.
If I start the Reader application with a other application (maybe about Internet Explorer) then the setting of the Reader-Window willn't be maintained. This is only after the Security Update from Adobe Reader 8.14 to 8.2.
Someone now why that so or can help me to stop this.

the problem is as follows:
The windows size, position of windows on the desktop, the display setting from PDF document.
When I diectly start the Adobe Reader 8.2 and then adjust the display position, size of the Reader window, display of the PDF document an finish the Reader application. Later reopening the Reader is everything (position, size, setting of PDF document) all right. But if I started Reader about a third application (maybe IE) then the desktop position was in the middle of the desktop, size was a other and the PDF document display is 167%.

I am running 8.1 pro x64, I just discovered that windows reader (which I cant uninstall) has the same problem when adobe reader is installed. Windows will not allow either one to be set as default while they co-exist.
After an extended session with chat only to be told that since Adobe Reader was free they could not help me :-(... I figured it out myself.
I opened a administrator: command prompt window and typed "regedit" Through extensive searching and stumbled on this key located at... HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-2274202122-2588692262-2244265822-1001_Classes\.pdf\OpenWithProgids The S-1-5-21...1001... is my current logged on user, your value may differ slightly. Typically the builtin disabled administrator account is 1000 and when you install windows and create a user account "John Doe" it will have administrator priveleges and be auto numbered 1001, every user account created therafter will increase by 1 ie...1002, 1003, 1004 etc. even if you remove (delete) an account and re-create it you wont get the same number, the system will use the next number in sequence. The old one will have been trashed never to be used again. Again here is the key...
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-2274202122-2588692262-2244265822-1001_Classes\.pdf\OpenWithProgids I deleted this key under (default) on the right side...

Personally I selected computer on the left side and the went to file/export then chose a file name [01 29 2014 regbackup.reg] and location. Then I selected "OpenWithProgids" and did the same thing,[pdf.reg] this saves a backup of the entire regestry and the key you are about to delete as a safety net. When you are done all you have to do is go to a pdf file, right click and choose open with...Adobe Reader - the box always use this app should already be checked.
I did this and it works yet because improper regestry modification can crash your system I am compelled to warn... Use at your own risk. If you are uncomfortable modifying your registry I would suggest consulting with someone qualified and has resources to do offline registry modifications/restorations which makes it VERY important to do the computer export registry backup. -
Adobe APSB11-03 Reader X 10.0.1 for Windows - FAILS
We have been having problems getting this patch to install - Patch Bundle Adobe APSB11-03 Reader X 10.0.1 for Windows (Update). It keeps giving the errors:

The action VerifyBundle (ID:Adobe APSB11-03 Reader X 10.0.1 for Windows (Updat-1013520322) failed due to the reason : Failed to launch C:\Program Files\Novell\ZENworks/zpm/Remediate.exe. Exit code: -1073741819, however the action is set to continue on failure.
I have tried re-caching it a couple times but the error continues. Has anyone else run into this?dtemple-sgi,

Adobe reader X, internet exporer 9 and windows 7.
I have installed Adobe reader X, internet explorer 9 an windows 7 on my computer.
I want to view a pdf file from the net and I get a message "Cannot find adobe Reader".
What can be done to fix this?
I have tried re-installing, look for plug-ins, searched web for answers, set preferneces etc etc.
It doesn't work.
Does someone have any correct answers?Reader X came out before Explorer 9. Try downloading the pdf via right clicking, then opening in Reader directly. This should work until Adobe addresses any issues with IE9.

I cannot open a pdf file with aol e-mail. I went to preferences in Adobe Reader but did not know what to enter for Incoming IMAP and outgoing SMTP. I can open pdf files from windows explorer as I have associated .pdf files with adobe reader. My operating system is windows 7.

Adobe Reader 8.2.1 russian for Windows

I heed to update Adobe Reader for Windows to 8.2.1 version for fix vulnerability (CVE-2010-0186) for russian users. I have Adobe Reader 8.1.3 russian now. It's only possible for download 8.x.x version with russian interface (9.x.x is not possible way in my case). I did't find 8.2.0 version with russian interface for download and I cannot apply 8.2.1 patch. When I try to update 8.1.3 version by Adobe Reader menu I have message like "no available pathes". Are you using Adobe Reader 7 on Windows 8? If so, the message is probably correct and you should download the latest version of Adobe Reader (which is XI).
If you already have Reader XI, maybe you can give us some more details about where you are at and what you are doing when you get this message. -

Installation and Launch - Adobe Reader XI on Mac - No program window.
I've installed and re-installed Adobe Reader XI on my computer, and ensured that it was the Mac client each time, however upon launching the application from my applications folder, it starts the program, but the program does nothing. It appears active in my task bar, but it has no windows, and whenever I go to check; Adobe Reader, File, Edit, View, Window, & Help. All actions are greyed out and I'm left unable to do anything. I've been unable to come across reports of similar problems, and I do meet the system requirements in order for the application to function.
What do I do?What happens when you attempt to open a PDF file in Adobe Reader like the PDF file in your Downloads folder named "About Downloads.pdf"? Just drag it on top of Adobe Reader and see what happens.

I updated Itunes today to the latest version. Windows 7 64bit. None of my drivers work and get an error when itunes starts, about registry setting for reading and writing dvds and cds missing. Anyone else have the same issue. I downloaded itunes again, reinstalled still have same issue.

I am using Adobe Reader X on a laptop with Windows Vista OS and Adobe Reader XI on an older laptop with Windows XP OS. While filling out the same form on each computer, I have found that I can save info on the older laptop, but not on the newer one. This is a big problem. I must be able to save on the newer computer. Do I need to buy a new computer with a more up-to-date OS? Please help.
Adobe Reader X can only save reader-enabled forms. Adobe Reader XI can save all forms.

ich verwende den Adobe Reader 11.0.06 auf einen Windows 7 System.
In den Reader 11 Voreinstellungen ist der 'Geschützten Modus' und die Erweiterte Sicherheit 'Unter meinen Windows-Sicherheitszonen aufgeführten Sites automatisch vertrauen' aktiv.
Öffne ich jetzt ein PDF Dokument aus einen vertrauten Verzeichnispfad oder Intranet/Internet, so kommt die Anzeige das die PDF Datei aus einer unsicheren Quelle wäre und Funktionen sind deaktiv.
Hat einer eine Idee weshalb die Windows Sicherheitseinstellungen nicht gezogen werden.
Hier möchte ich keine WhiteList anlegen, da die Windows Sicherheitseinstellungen das noch unter dem Reader 10 gezogen haben.
