Adobe Reader 8 doesn't found Flash

Hi all,
i have a document with a embedded flash animation and Adobe Reader 8 (Solaris) return the error that flash plug-in is not available.
Is this functionality supported ? If yes, what is the resolution ?

Hi Pascal,
The Solaris versiion of Reader 8.1.1 does not support playing multimedia embedded in pdf files.
Though the linux version has multimedia support, it does not support playing Flash files.

Dov, you confimed that Adobe Reader for Android has the Flash Player Runtime - I thought this feature is necessary to be able to show embedded (flv) videos?
What about viewing cross platform proof PDF files containing mp4 (H.264) embedded videos?
Up to now I’m forced to show ezPDF Reader in my workflow scenarios - think about the bad psychology that I always will have explain that the rich media PDF workflows could work with Adobe products, but Adobe itself seems to limit PDF use cases in order not to become a competitor of let’s guess of FOLIO?
Please explain me why? No market? I would like to contradict as much as I can.
If someone starts to weaken the big possibilities for PDF even on mobile devices this seems to be Adobe itself: Where are the Adobe show cases showing rich media PDFs on mobile devices?
Almost everything Adobe is showing with rich media information is in DPS based on Folio (slide shows, videos etc).
You might get all the functionality much easier using PDF (seen from a classic DTP workflow using Word, FrameMaker or InDesign)
Why didn’t Adobe add more multimedia features? Where is the 3D support on mobile devices?
Has Adobe changed the overall PDF strategy?
Where is an Adobe PDF cross platform strategy for using rich media PDFs on PC, Macs, Android and iPhone/iPads?

Adobe Reader 11.0.03 and Flash Player 11.8.800.94 Not Working on Windows 8

On a computer running Windows 8 Enterprise, Adobe Reader 11.0.03, and Flash Player 11.8.800.94, I am unable to open a flash-enabled PDF. Reader gives me the error "To view the Flash technology content in this PDF file, please install this version of Flash Player that supports Adobe Reader and Acrobat." Adobe's Flash verification page shows me that Flash Player is working, and I can open other basic PDFs in Reader. I have another machine with an identical setup, except that it has Acrobat 11.0.03 instead of Reader, and the PDF opens just fine on that machine. Why won't Reader open the Flash-enabled PDF?

Adobe Reader updater doesn't work properly in Windows 7

For the longest time, I've been receiving update notifications from Adobe Reader, prompting me to upgrade. I always say ok, download the update. Then it always takes like 1 second to download (hard to believe it's that fast), then I get the install window. I press the "Install" button and the window disappears and I don't receive any additional messages... Until I reboot my computer and I get again the same update download prompt window.
So it seems the update doesn't work and that's why I get that message EVERYTIME I reboot the PC. Not matter if I reboot every 5 minutes, I always get that message.
Please, fix your updater so it doesn't annoy the user like this with non working updates!
Since the updater doesn't work, is there a way to disable it? Thank you!

Ok, I've added the registry setting you mentioned, then I've started "AdobeARMHelper.exe" again to get the tray notification about the available update. Then I've clicked it, I got the download window, I clicked "Download", then 1 second later I got another tray notification about the update being ready to install (maybe it takes so little time because the update is already in my computer and so it doesn't download anything). Then I clicked the tray notification and got the install window. I clicked Install, and nothing else happened, as always.
Then, I've checked the "AdobeARM.log" file, and now it shows the following:

It seems there are some errors in Spanish, probably because they come from Windows, which is configured in Spanish in my PC. "El sistema no puede encontrar el archivo especificado" means "The system cannot find the file specified".
I hope you can find the problem with that information.

Adobe Reader not opening PDF Portfolio - Flash player error

I have Acrobat 9 Standard installed on my PC and I created a PDF Portfolio. Acrobat Standard can open that Portfolio just fine.
I also have Acrobat Reader installed (11.0.2).and have Adobe Flash Player (11.7.700.169) installed. Both Reader and Flash Player work fine independently on PDF or Flash content.
However when I try to open the PDF portfolio with Reader, I get the following Error:
:"To view the Flash technology in this FDF file; please install this version of Flash player that supports Adobe reader and Acrobat".
The Dialog box with the message above has a [Proceed to download page] button (which does nothing but bring up Reader with a black page), a [Learn more] button (similar behavior), and a [Cancel] button. Both Reader and Flash are the latest versions as of today (4/16/2013).
Any help or insight with this is appreciated.

Insert PDFs into Power Point with Adobe Reader 10 doesn't work

When I try to insert a PDF Document into a Power Point Sheet (Microsoft Office 2003) the following an error occurred: "Die Serveranwendung , die Quelldatei oder das Element konnte nicht gefunden werden oder ein unbekannter Fehler wurde zurückgemeldet. Installieren Sie die Serveranwendung unter Umständen erneut." In English it would be somethink like: "Die Serverapplikation, the sourcefile or the element could not be found or an unknown error get recalled. According to the circumstances install the serverapplication again."
The error appears when I click in Power Point on "Insert" then on "Object" and then on "OK" if the Adobe Acrobat Document is selected. The error occurred since I use Adobe Reader X on Windows XP and on Windows 7.
Have anyone any idea, or know a solution?

Der Key für Geschützer Modus wenn er aktiviert ist lautet:

wir benutzen hier Windows 7 x64, sowie Windows XP x86. Allerdings haben wir bei beiden Systemen keine Probleme wenn wir den Geschützen Modus deaktiveren.
Kannst du mir vielleicht noch die nachfolgenden 3 Fragen beantworten, damit ich ein bessere Vorstellung vom Problem habe?
Welches MS Office (bzw. PP) nutzt ihr?
Über welchen Weg bzw. über welche Funktion wollt ihr das PDF in PP implmentieren/einbetten?
Wie genau lautet der Text der Fehlermeldung?

Adobe Reader DC, doesn't disable "Display PDF Document in the web browser" when option is unchecked.

The option under Accessibility>Setup Assistanct to uncheck the "Display PDF Document in the web browser" doesn't correctly disable Display PDF in browser when unchecked, it still defaults to opening in Internet Explorer even after restarting the browser. Confirmed this tested agianst with IE 8, 9, 10 and 11 with the same behavior. Moving back to Reader 11.0.10 and using this same setting works flawlessly. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Adobe Reader XI Doesn't work!

Adobe Reader XI won't validate, so it won't work. It won't update. It won't uninstall. I am stuck with a program that won't work and I can't download it again, as it says, it's already there. UGH! Help! (And I am not super computer literate, so if you have suggestions, please make them for a toddler to understand!) Thanks!!!

When the Adobe reader opens a PDF document, it will show the first page, then a text box will pop-up that says it cannot "validate" and then it says the program needs to close, and closes. When I tried repeatedly to remove the program, it would say it wanted to update. If I said no, don't update, it stopped working and did nothing. If I said Yes, update, it said the program was in use (trying to remove) and to close the program first. I did keep going around and around with it last night, and, hallelujah, it uninstalled. I haven't redownloaded the program, because I think this version of Adobe doesn't like Norton Antivirus (I didn't click yes to macafee, because I don't want it). So, currently I don't have any PDF reader. But, it is no longer making me crazy, because it isn't there. You're the best for your sane reply to a crazy woman stuck in an Adobe loop. Much appreciated!

After installing Adobe Reader, it doesn't appear.

I recently tried to upgrade Adobe Reader 9.x to version 11.x from Adobe's website. The installation completed and all indications showed that it was successful. After I restart, I'm still at version 9.x; I thought maybe I should unistall the old version and then install the newest version. As before, everything appeared to install correctly. After a restart, I check Add\Remove programs and now there is no copies of Adobe Reader to be found and after reinstalling several more times, it still does not show up even though the installation appears that its working fine. I have XP running SP3. HELP!!!

The downloaded Adobe Reader XI doesn't work!

This might be known, but I have never experienced it! I downloaded Adobe Reader XI, and when I wanted to open a pdf file, Adobe started....... and disappeared! I thought maybe I had done something wrong, so I tried once more, but with the same result! I found that I wanted to have the old version (X) back, so I unloaded XI and reinstalled X, but ......, you know what? Now the same happened with the old version! There's definitely something wrong here, but what? I think I have tried everything that's supposed, but have come up blank! Can anybody help me?

Open in adobe reader option doesn't appear

I am unable to open PDFs in safari on my iPad air. I have the most recent version of Adobe reader installed and am using iOS 8. When I click on the "open in" option, nothing happens. There is no "open in adobe reader" option that appears.

I can open the PDF document (http://www.state.tn.us/education/licensing/docs/EOC_Information_Sheet.pdf) in Safari on my iPhones and iPads without any problems.
I am afraid that it is a Safari or iOS network connection problem with your iPad. Adobe Reader for iOS is not the app fetching PDF documents for Safari for iOS.
What is the iOS version on your iPad?
Is your Internet connection relatively slow or sporadic by any chance? Can you find a faster Wi-Fi connection at a different location to see if Safari fully loads a PDF document?
You may be able to find similar problems in the Apple Support forum for iPad.

If the problem still persists, I'd recommend using (a) a different web browser (e.g. Google Chrome) on your iPad or (b) a Mac or Windows desktop computer to view PDF documents.

Satellite L450-136 - Adobe Reader 9 doesn't show full content

I have a new Satellite L450-136 which came with Windows 7, Office 7 and Adobe Reader 9 installed.
When I open newly received pdf files from the hard disk (Windows Explorer or Adobe Reader) or Internet Explorer, individual pages are there but are greyed out and nothing can be read. But I can still print. I can open and see old pdf files on my hard disk. If I make a new pdf from Word, I can see text but not see Pictures. Seems like a display problem but what?

Why do you think this? Is it only your feeling or have you exact reasons for this?
I cant agree with you. I have two Toshiba notebooks and on both notebooks Adobe Reader runs properly. So you should reinstall the application as Xardas suggested.
Furthermore I have also installed Foxit PDF Reader today and its faster as Adobe Reader.

Adobe Reader XI doesn't allow form to be submitted

We have some users that have upgraded to Adobe Reader XI. We have a pdf form that works fine with previous versions of Reader, but will no longer submit if the user has XI. How can this be fixed? Security mode is Off. We have noticed that in XI, the required fields are not indicating that they are required.

Yes, I saved it as "Reader Extended with additional features enabled". It works for me, but it does not work for other people in XI if they don't have Acrobat Pro. When they click on the submit button, absolutely nothing happens.

Adobe Reader X doesn't even try to validate expired user certificate used in digital signature

Verifying a file signed with an expired certificate (timestamped or not) causes Adobe Reader to raise strange CRL parsing error:
Note:
the CRL is currently valid
the errors "propagates" also on the OCSP responses
the file is timestamped before the certificate revocation.
the error is reproducible everytime and with different signature/CAs: personally I've tried with Frenc, Italian and Spanish signed evidences.

This issue dates back from 2012 and is still in Adobe Reader XI and DC. The behaviour seems to happen when a certificate has expired, there are no embedded CRL/OCSP responses and Reader is configured to validate at the time the signature was made. It goes online to check revocation based on the currently available CRL which is evidently NOT the CRL that was used at the time of signature, and fails with the "...not yet valid..." error message. If the certificate is not in the CRL, it should just forget about it and check if the signature date is between the certificate notBefore and notAfter dates.
Can someone from Adobe just confirm if this is an actual bug or the intended behaviour ?
