Adobe Reader 9.1.# and 3D Objects

Hello folks,
I have pdf-files with embedded 3D objects.
When I open these files with Adobe Reader 8.#, an addidional field appears where I can zoom, rotate, move, turn, switch orthogonal/perspective projection, etc..... these 3d-objects.
With Adobe Reader 9.1.# I only can zoom! I can see the fiel where the rotate button etc. is, but onyl zoom funcionalty is provided.. ven if the rotate is selected!
Why? Did I forget any settings? Wrong built?

Same issue with the Adobe Reader 9.0!
Rotate, Spin, Pan, Walk, Fly is not possible in Version 9 of Adobe Reader!
Version 8.## everything is OK. Does nobody noticed this?

That depends on your operating system and browser. On Windows, e.g. using Firefox, you right-click on the link, then select 'Save link as...'.

Currently, Adobe Reader for Android does not provide an option to disable auto-save.
In the Reader home screen (where your files are displayed), you can make a copy of the original PDF document, open the copy (instead of opening the original document), make changes to the copy. Once you email the copy, you can delete it.
For more information, please see Help > How To... > Copy, edit, delete, manage.
Although it is not the most convenient way to accomplish the task, that's the only feasible workaround that is available in Adobe Reader for Android right now.

Does Adobe Reader for iOS and Android Support Encryption with PKI Solution?

Hello there,
I have been searching for an answer whether or not Adobe Reader for iOS and Android can read encrypted PDF files by public key infrastructure solution (encrypted by a public key, to be decrypted by its private key pair), but to date I have not found the answer. From the Adobe web site, I understand that Adobe Reader for Android supports to read encrypted document by AES256 but it does not mention about PKI. I had to guess that it does not support encryption with PKI but I would just like to get a formal answer, and would like to know whether Adobe Reader Mobile will support it.

Adobe Reader 9.2 and AIR hotfix

I'm running into an Adobe reader 9.2 and AIR compatibility problem. I developed an AIR App with
browser panel that invokes a PDF doc using Adobe Reader. When I update to the latest Adobe
Reader (9.2), I start having errors with a dialog saying errors related to the CoolType.dll.
I found this in one of the devnet articles which mentions a hotfix. Where do I get it??
I cannot find it anywhere on the Adobe site.

AIR applications are unable to load a PDF using Reader 9.2
AIR applications that load a PDF in the broswer will no longer work with Adobe Reader 9.2.
Recommended action: This issue will be addressed in an upcoming patch release to Reader. For
enterprises which can control the deployment of Reader, a hotfix is available from Adobe Support.

As special service for you I just downloaded and installed the Reader V9.2,
opened the Reader via activex embedde into a small GUI
and loaded via src a testfile.
Then printed the file (manual via menuitems/print icon) with some different settings.
All works fine. Did you try other manual actions, like copy to clip, rotate, ...
Maybe it is a problem with your GUI.
Try to start embedded using IE as GUI or simple try if you can print a pdf opend via IE.
IE use the same activex as you for you GUI.

Are you launching Pages from an icon in your Dock? Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Pages from there.

Edited/commented on PDF using Adobe Reader iphone 5 and e-mailed to myself so I could review on PC laptop. I opened on laptop and although I could see the comment bubbles, I was not able to open them to see the comments.

Oh I know there are many other vocabulary mistakes but never mind them I was just too excited when I wrote all of that while typing very quickly
P.S: if you have any question then ask and please do tell me if it works or not with u but I'm definitely sure it'll work so tell me this and we'll get excited together

Runtime error with Adobe Reader 9.x and IE

I'm getting a runtime error with any adobe reader 9.x and Internet Explorer whenever a .pdf is being viewed online. It will pull the .pdf up and then pop up a runtime error window and close it down completely. It is only happening with individuals that have redirected app data folders and profiles. I have all machines running Windows XP sp3 and IE8. I know, I know, I can always go to Firefox or Chrome, but IE is easily managed with group policy lockdowns. I can unintall reader 9.x and then reinstall 8.x and it works perfectly. The only problem with that is that I have to go do every machine and physically uninstall since I buildt the windows xp installer package with it. Does anyone know a workaround or if adobe is going to get it fixed pretty soon?

I am experiencing exactly the same problems on one of two identical machines after something happened in the registry.
The first problem that appered was an error 1325 "Favorites is not a valid short name".
I did find the registry key involved (%userprofile%\Favorites) and fixed it.
So now the the next one: yours.
I think the solution can be found in the list of registry keys that Adobe Reader is accessing.
btw Eusing registry cleaner did not find this key to be in error.
Problem is that the Reader does not ask for an alternative location after stumbling on the key.
Who can gnerate a list of keys accessed?

Display pattern of numeric field in adobe reader ver 8 and 9.

I have added a text field to my form and have set the following properties:
Type: Numeric field
Limit length to visible area: checked (so that it accepts upto 9 digits)
display pattern: zzz9
data pattern: zzz9
data format: Integer
When I type "123456789" in the field, adobe reader version 7 and 9 are adding commas to the number and are displaying it as "123,456,789" while adobe reader 8 displays it the way i want "123456789"
Appreciate if someone can quickly provide some guidance here.

The issue is that the pattern that you are applying from the field cannot be applied to your input so the default pattern for numeric fields is being applied (hence the 123,456,789). If you make sure that your numeric field is set for integer (Binding tab/Data Format). Then set the display pattern to num{zzzzzzzz9}. It will work.
The default pattern is held in the XDP template. It is created based on your locale. If you click on the XML Source tab (between Preview and Master Pages - if it is not visible then you can make it visible on the View/XML Source menu)then do a serach ctrl-F for numberPattern you will see where it is defined in the template. If you modify this one then it will only be applied for this form. Any new forms will revert back to the old pattern.

Try these steps:
1. Select the .jpeg file
2. Right click on that file and on context menu go to the last option which says "Properties"
3. Now you will see the option where you change the program to use for opening your file
4. Instead of Adobe Reader select Windows Photo there.
5. Apply and say OK to it

Flash Player And adobe reader not working and downloads don't work

I have IE 8 and windows vista and everything has worked great for 2 years until 2 or 3 weeks ago. At that time my flash player stopped working so I could no longer get videos , streaming stock quotes, weather map loops, etc and when I go to websites that use Flash (i.e. Piaaz Hut) it wouldn't work. Also, at that same time my adobe reader stopped working properly and I can't view mosy PDF Files.
I have gone through many of the posts on this forum and have tried many of the fixes, but none have work for me.
I tried to uninstall the Flash Player, but I didn't use the Adobe uninstaller.
Whenever I try to update or load the Flash player, a dialog box with the globe tossing papers to the folder appears and then after a few seconds I get the the message that IE can't install_flash_player_ax.exe from fp download.adobe.com, and then a message that says IE was not able to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found.
In control panel programs I have listed
Adobe AIR      no size
Adobe Flash Player 10 active X           no size
Adobe Reader 9.3     141mb
Macromedia Shockwave player      no size
In Tools i have the following add ons and they are all enabled
Shockwave Flash object 10.0.42.34
Adobe PDF Link Helper
Adobe PDF Reader
Macromedia Shockwave Active X Control 10.1
As I said I've already attempted a number of the fixes on this forum, but so far no luck.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what else I might try?

Ok, I tried to download the firefox browser but IE wouldn't let me download it. My friend downloaded it from their computer to a flash drive and I loaded it to my computer from the flash drive. The download of Firefox from the flash drive worked, and now I'm using Firefox & both my adobe flash player and my adobe reader are working just great.
However, neither the flash player nor the reader are working if I use IE, so I guess I will just have to use Firefox as my browser.
I'm going to mark my question as answered since I really don't care that I have to use Firefox instead of IE,although I can't understand why it works using Firefox but not using IE.
Thank you so much for your assistance in walking me step-by-step through this problem until I was able to reach a satisfactory solution.
