Adobe Reader 9.1 Cannot print - No pages were selected

When trying to print a PDF on a new Dell PC using Windows XP, sp3, I get a message in a window that says Document cannot be printed. Click ok and the next message is No pages were selected to print. The All button is selected and the message stays the same.

For your problem, I'm assuming other programs already print without problem.  My only recommendation is backup your system, format, install only your OS and  printer, and see if that hits it.  Get a fresh copy of Adobe reader, maybe off a magazine CD - the downloads off internet are usually only download managers that install themselves on your system and then download the actual program.  Stay away - possible errors can creep in.  And maybe stay away from the Adobe Reader install package you have at the moment - mark it suspect.  Download your printer software anew.
Basically start fresh.  If it works then, I'm guessing a software conflict on your old system is the cause, or your install media you used for your old install was corrupt, only 2 of many possibilities.
But the key here is to make a "ghost" backup of your current system so you can go look for the problem afterwards.  Of course, I don't even know if there is backup software like ghost out there for a mac.
Also, I think your mac probably has recovery CDs.  Avoid those - get CDs of your OS only.  Make sure you install only the OS and printer software - possibly even only the printer driver, not the printer software.  The newest latest and greatest versions of all of them.
And easiest probably is to put in a different hard disk for this test - saves you from backing up.
My thoughts are that Adobe Reader should work on your system.  It's a software configuration issue.  So something you've installed is preventing things from working correctly.  Especially since your other programs print to the same printer driver without hassle.  But your first step is to get Adobe Reader to print again on a fresh start and prove it still can work, then add stuff until it stops working and blame the last thing you installed.
The actual error, as we've learnt, might be completely unrelated to "no pages were selected".
If you've done all that and still no joy, try a different printer with different software.  Then try a different printer cable.  Then you've got to move on to changing the machine so you can get away from the ports on your current system, but by this time we're at the point of giving up hope, I hope you don't have to go there.  Maybe you could install a peripheral card in your system to add a new port, but that's also more of a hassle than it's worth.
Hope this helps.

  • Cannot Print, no pages were selected to print!

    Hi,
I've seen this error message in a lot of discussions online but yet I haven't been able to solve it. I'm running adobe reader XI (11.0.0).
When I print some PDF documents i get the error stating that "no pages were selected to print". When I look at the document properties I see that all the documents that I get this problem with is version 1.4.
When i try to print a document in version 1.7 it works just fine. Is this by design? Can't I print PDF-documents version 1.4 in this version of adobe reader?
    Best regards
    Peter

I've actually seen a solution for this quite recently, but I don't remember what it was.  And of course the forum search is useless...
Can you  try if disabling Protected Mode could be it [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

  • Adobe Reader 9.1 only printing 1st Page of Documents

When printing documents from Adobe Reader 9.1.0, it will only print the 1st page of the document, even if I have 'All' selected when my print dialouge box pops up.
    Any ideas on a fix?

    Hello:
You might also wish to supply us with the printer make/model and if it's a local or network printer. Similar issues in the past have been resolved by updating the print driver.
    Thanks!

  • The page could not be printed, no pages were selected

Hi all. I get the above error printing from Acrobat 9 (not all the time) & have had it both at work & home on different mac's. The pdf will print fine from Acrobat 7.
What I am having to install in my studio at work is both Acrobat 9 + 7 to allow users to print their pdfs (although the installer for 9 states that previous versions must be removed).
I'm sure this has been posted before, but I could not find a solution in the forum so hope someone can help!

Not all pdfs, its quite random. Happens with 10.4, 10.5 &10.6. Gigabites of hd space, any printer.
If you google the error you will find plenty of these errors reprorted, the top hit being one you have answered.
Has Adobe rectified this problem as yet?

Ctrl+P usually does the trick... If it's not working for you you'll need to explain what exactly goes wrong. We're not mind-readers and can't help you without more detailed information about your set-up and the nature of the problem.

  • Adobe Reader XI - No pages were selected to print

Trying to print PDF's in Adobe Reader XI when trying to print the error message "No pages were selected to print" appears. Trying to print from a network printer, the printer itself is a Dell 2135cn MFP PCL6. I'm working on a cloud server and a colleague of mine seems to have no problem with the issue with printing PDF's to this printer.
Took a look into the issue and attempted to save the file to the desktop, print the file as an image and checked all the properties were correct these all seemed to show no effect on the situation. Used CutePDF to build a new PDF and tried that as well which didn't work.  Printed a test page to the printer to see if it printed which it did. Seems I'm only able to print from other programs just not PDF.

    HI ,
Kindly follow the below mentioned steps:-
On the Print window select your printer.
    Click on advanced tab
    select Print as an image
    Click Ok.

  • Adobe Reader 9.3.1 prints incorrectly in Windows 7 x64 - HELP

Adobe Reader 9.3.1 PDF document pages at half size and rotated 90 degrees.  If I set "Print as Image" under the Advanced print options, it does print correctly, although the resolution isn't very good.  This happens on several documents (stand alone files and from Internet Explorer both).  I am running Windows 7 64 bit.
On my Vista 32 bit system, Adobe Reader 9.3.1 prints the same documents correctly on the same printer.
Has anyone heard of this problem?  Is there a solution?

  • Partial printing only from Adobe Reader via Server 2008 print spooler

    Hi there,
We've recently set up a new print server for our school. It's running Windows Server 2008 (not R2) 32 bit. We have 8 printers, which are all HP LaserJet P2035n.
All printing works fine, except for PDF files from Adobe Reader. PDF files from Adobe Reader go through the print server with no visible errors, however they print strangely.
Often there will be a blank page at the start. Generally they will not print all pages (e.g. 4/10 or so) and they will cause the printer to error.
We do not get this problem using other PDF readers or with the Google Chrome PDF plugin.
Could you please provide some troubleshooting steps? Based on elimination, it seems to be something to do with the way Adobe Reader communicates with either the print server or the printer, causing some type of malformed request.
    Thanks,
    Andrew

  • In adobe reader, I can't print from different trays?

Using Adobe Reader, I can't print from different trays on my Lexmark x954 printer.  I've tried reinstalling the print driver (latest version) and reinstalling Adobe Reader with no luck.  I can see the trays and even select them in the print dialog box in adobe but when I print I am unable to print from the correct trays.  It always prints from tray 3 of my printer no matter what tray and type of paper I choose in adobe.  Any suggestions?
I've also noticed a problem printing through Preview.  I can select different trays using preview but the print time is extremely slow.  It seems like it has to re-download the pdf page each time it goes to print.  So a 100 page print job takes 20-30 minutes to complete which means other have to wait for my job to complete so it really slows our office down.
Thanks for your help.  Also, I am using the mountain lion operating system.  Thanks again!

Don't know whether it will make any difference, but a new version of Adobe Reader has just been released:
    http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/73/adobe-reader  (version 11.0.03).

Both of these problems are also in the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 2015.007.20033. The first problem on the Windows 7 computer can be resolved by deleting the CRL Cache (before signing) in the following location: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\Security\CRLCache.

When I try to open Adobe Reader, it just opens a gray page and then closes by itself. This also applies to any pdf files I try to access; they'd all follow the same pattern: Gray page-->automatically closes after 2 to 3 seconds time. I have tried accessing the Eula.exe via C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, however, the only available button for me to click is the "Decline" button and not the "Accept" license agreement. Please help!

    Hi,
I would suggest you to uninstall Adobe Reader using the cleaner tool and then re-install the latest version.
Adobe Cleaner Tool:- Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs.
Latest version of Adobe Reader:- http://get.adobe.com/reader/
