    Hello
I use Windows 7 (64 bit). I've spent a couple of days trying to get Adobe Reader to work. I need version 9.5 or higher in order to fill out an important tax document. When I click on the icon the program will come up for a few seconds and then it disappears by itself. I have repeatedly removed both adobe reader as well as acrobat using both the adober clean up program as well as the windows uninstall program. I have tried re downloading all 3 versions. The same problem continues to happen. I desparately need to find a solution. Thanks.

    Hi again
I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to help much - even though I feel like
I've just finished an intensive adobe seminar. So, that said - I'm stuck
again. Thanks to you I got Adobe Reader 11 loaded and was able to fill out
and save the tax form as a pdf file. When I get into the the site to file
the form though I get the following page when I try to open the saved form:
    Please wait...

  • Adobe Reader won't work on My mac

    Hi,
I've installed Adobe Reader but when I try to open a file online, it sends me straight back to the downloader page. I tried to re-install it but it tells me it's already installed and it is. I've tried to work with the plug-in's and selected "always allow." What else do I need to do?
    Thanks for any help!

From the Safari menu bar, select Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Security and check the box labeled Enable plug-ins.

  • Adobe reader won't work on new ipad

    Hello,
I have just purchased a new ipad and I have installed the free adobe reader from the apps store icon on the ipad screen.  After I installed the adobe reader I loaded some pdf documents onto the ipad and it seemed to work just fine as I was able to open and read the pdf documents.  The problem is that when I shut off the ipad and start it back up and then try to open the adobe reader up to access my pdf documents the only thing that happens is that the screen will flash once and that is it.  The adobe reader will not open.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the free adobe reader application 5 times and it is always the same thing.  It will work normally after a fresh reinstall however, when I shut off the ipad and restart it then it will only flash once and not open anything.
I also bought the $5.00 PDF reader from the apps store in hopes that would fix the problem but it does the same thing.  I have also updated my operating system and have installed the latest version of the adobe reader.
Has anyone seen or heard of this before?  Any help would be appreciated.

I am guessing that you have a corrupt PDF that is causing the issue - and not the apps, but that is just guess. If both apps crash on you and you have the same files in both apps ....

I'm a student trying to download Adobe After Effects multiple times, but every time I try to click the "Accept" button it doesn't do anything.  I have tried clicking with the mouse, and was also able to tab through so it highlighted each field and hit enter when it highlighted the "Accept" button, and still didn't work, so can't get past this point.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

  • Adobe Reader 11.0.07 Freezes if I open pdf that is digitally signed

recently deployed the latest reader with no issues.  now I notice that if I try to open a pdf that contains digital signaures it freezes.  I can open a regular pdf form and sign it, but once I try to open it again or have someone else open, it freezes up.  Anyone else see this?

    A few questions:
    - Do you have In Product Messaging turned ON or OFF in your preferences?
    - Are the Digital Signatures using CRL or OSCP for validation?
    - Are you using a Digital Rights Management Policy that requires the PDF to query the DRM server to validate the user?
    - Are the Digital Signatures using a Timestamp server as part of the validation scheme?

  • Adobe Reader XI stopped working in Windows 7

I recently installed the aforementioned, and now cannot open and work with any files.  Each time a file opens, I get the message that Adobe Reader has stopped working.  Does anyone know why, or more importantly, what I can do about it?

I am having the same issue. Reader opens up and looks like it is about to run then it just stops and I get a message that says it has stopped working. I copied the error report. @patwillener I also tried to go into reader itself and it won't even open. I tried uninstalling the program and I installed a new version. Still nothing, I have ended up having to install 9.5 to get it to run on my computer now. I need help!

I just loaded Yosemite on my Mac and now adobe flash won't work in Safari 8.0.4 . Does anyone have a solution ?

If you can't install or update Flash, follow these instructions.
If you have installed the latest version of Flash, please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test.
For a "blocked plug-in" error, see Step 4.
For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 8.
Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
You might have to log out or restart the computer before a Flash update takes effect.
    Step 2
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Close the window. Then select
               ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced ▹ Delete All...
In the sheet that opens, check the box marked
Delete All Site Data and Settings
then click Delete Data. Close the preference pane.
    Step 3
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, log in to YouTube and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    Step 4
    a. If you get a warning of a "blocked" or "outdated" plug-in, then select the Security tab in the Safari preferences window. In the list of plugins on the left, there should be one—and only one—entry for "Adobe Flash Player," showing the same version number that you installed. Select that entry. On the right there will be a list of websites for which you have specifically allowed Flash, if any. It's normal for the list to be empty. Below that is a menu labeled
              When visiting other websites
From that menu, select either Allow or Ask.
    b. If you still get the alerts, then go back to the Flash Player preference pane and select the Advanced tab. Click Check Now. Quit and relaunch the browser.
    c. If the alerts still persist, triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
              Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Inside it, there should be a file named "XProtect.meta.plist". If that file is missing and you know why it's missing, restore it from a backup or copy it from another Mac running the same version of OS X. Otherwise, reinstall OS X.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 5
In the Safari preferences window, select the Advanced tab and uncheck the box marked
              Stop plug-ins to save power
    Step 6
Open this folder as in Step 4:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
              Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
    Step 7
Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    Step 8
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
              Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
    Then click the button marked
              Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
    Step 9
    Select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.

  • Adobe Reader won't start automatically

I've downloaded Adobe Reader to my Windows8 system,, but when I try to open a pdf file fom on-line it asks me which App I want to use, but Reader isn't listed as a choice.  When I clik look for other Apps on computer, I can't find Reader anywhere (not in programs, documents, etc).  It will not start automatically.  The only way I can't make it work is by Saving the pdf file, then going to my graphic start page and cliking the Adobe reader icon which has been there (and only there) since it was downloaded.  It's really time consuming and I have a lot of psf files I have to go back and delte from my downloads

the App version self-loaded and it worked initially whenever I tried to open a pdf file, but this is a new touchscreen Acer and I'm used to having actual programs, not Apps and I don't quite understand it yet...Of course like everything else with Windows 8, most thing don't work the way they used to  after you do any updates.   I'd love to go back to Windows 7, or even XP.  I got this for Christmas and so far (according to it's own software program), it's shut down a total of 418 times, the majority of causes had to do with Explorer.

  • Adobe reader won't 'uninstall'

I can't print pdfs or download pdfs on the web since downloading adobe reader 9.  The previous version (reader 8) failed to uninstall and I am unable to use 'remove programme' to remove either version of reader.   The error message reads,  patch cannot be found.
Can anyone offer a solution?  I believe I need to uninstall all the adobe files and reinstall afresh but can't do it with add/remove programmes.

    Thank you Claudio,
Your suggestion worked perfectly. I am very grateful.

You may want to try running this fix from Microsoft and uninstall all traces of any versions of Reader: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall If you want to reinstall Reader, download its full installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.Replies to this message go to everyone subscribed to this thread, not directly to the person who posted the message. • I am having a problem opening pdf document.  I get error message: "Adobe Reader has stopped working"

I am having a problem opening pdf document.  I get error message: "Adobe Reader has stopped working" then I get Windows is looking on line for a solution, but then my document closes. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Reader XI, rebooted my computer but this did not help.  I get the same message. What to do?

Can you open Reader by itself?  If so, check if disabling Protected Mode improves the situation [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

  • Adobe Reader doesn't work after windows 7 update

    Hello,
My Adobe Reader X was working fine, until one night where Windows 7 automatically updated, and after that Adobe Reader doesn't work anymore. It doesn't respond AT ALL when I click on it, and I cannot view PDF files anymore.
I uninstalled it, and re-installed it --- still doesn't work. I tried downloading version 9, but still it doesn't work.
I also tried to do system restore, but somehow it won't let me --- it says it failed to do so.
When I try to open PDF files in IE 10, it says "There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader..." and an error code of 103:103.
    Could anyone help me?
    Thanks!

You can try running cleaner on your machine

and then again install latest Reader from

  • Adobe reader won't open on iPad after recent update

After most recent update, adobe reader won't open on my iPad. I have lots of docs that I need to get to. Please help.

This forum is probably the best you can do. We're now on the weekend, and Adobe engineers don't work 24/7. When they return on Monday and see the reports, they'll work to fix it. The update will need to be submitted to Apple and then approved for an update.
Note that there are other apps on the App Store which can read PDFs.
