Adobe Reader, Abode Reader Air
I am struggling with my pdf files. I notice I have both Adobe Reader XI (Version 11.0.07) and Adobe Reader Air in my MAC (Mac OSX version 10.7.5) computer. I am using Adobe Reader XI. I never use Adobe Reader Air. I wonder if having both at the same times would cause problems? If so, how can I remove Adobe Reader Air from my MAC computer?

Unfortunately I do not know Mac OS, or how to use the Plist Editor. Hopefully someone with Mac OS experience can step in here to help you.

How do I install Adobe Reader on my macBook air?
I have just purchased a macbook air and would like to install Adobe reader on it.
There seem to be some PDF files that Preview cannot display correctly.

Problems installing Adobe Air & Adobe Reader X
Have downloaded and tried to install both apps to no avail, i keep getting error messages on both installs.
I have tried installing the windows install cleanup tool and cant find any adobe programs listed....
Adobe Reader X tries to install in ADMIN mode then near end i get the following message: Error 1402: could not open key: UNKNOWN\components\C37BC6 and a lot more numbers n letters, contact support
AIR 2.6 says : Sorry an error has occured
An error occured while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administartor. Please contact them.
I have only 1 account on my PC running w7 and im not sure what to do next to get them to install

Adobe Reader will not open on new MacBook Air
I recently purchased a MacBook Air with the fastest processor, etc. I downloaded Adobe Reader X and installed. When I click on the icon to start the program, I get the License acceptance dialog box. As soon as I accept, I get a "An internal error occured." I have download an older version and the same thing happened. The Mac OS X is fully updated to 10.6.7. I have other Macs and have never had this problem. Any suggestions?

adobe reader download problem on mac. when i try to download reader it says i need adobe air. when i try to download adobe air it says it's no longer available or supported. i deleted the old air because i got a message saying i needed to delete it. what should i do? my operating system is Mac 10.7.5

Problem with Adobe reader on iPad air
I have looked all through Google to solve this problem but can't find help anywhere.
I Have an IPad Air and want to open some PDFs files which are in a password area on a website. this works fine except for on my IPad. When I click on the file I want to open a page appears but only the first page and it doesn't even seem to be a PDF file. The first page is a school exercise but I can't read the answers on the second page. If I click on the box with the menu I can't even find the open with Adobe reader. I Have the newest version of reader for iOS and have also signed in but nothing opens the PDFs file.

Are the PDFs from your school called "protectedPDF" by Vitrium by any chance? Or do they use some other third-party technology for DRM (Digital Rights Management)?

Problem with Adobe Reader vs Acrobat on my Macbook Air
A question that is addressed in the forum but the answers (so far) have not worked for me: I just switched to a Macbook Air (from a standard Macbook Pro) and suddenly cannot open PDF files from the internet in Adobe Reader. Instead, I am instructed to sign the user agreement for Adobe Acrobat, which I have never actually purchased and do not have installed on my computer. Per suggestions from earlier threads and from the Adobe help site, I have attempted these steps:
In the Finder, select a PDF, and choose File > Get Info.
Click the arrow next to Open With to expose the product menu.
Choose either Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader from the application menu.
It seems simple enough, but when I open a PDF and click on File, there is no "Get info" option. Nor when I double click on the document itself, is there a "get info" option. The closest thing I see is "properties" which does not take me to the desired dialogue box. So my question is, how to I find "get info," which will presumably take me to the solution?Hello,

Adobe Reader is not needed to open a PDF file. Apple's PreView will open them, too. The current version of Adobe Reader is Adobe Reader 11.0.10.

Adobe Reader crashes Adobe AIR Application silently
Hey,
here at my agency we stumbled about a very strange bug:
A program that we're developing needs to constantly show many types of media: Images, Video, Websites and PDF.
Its some kind of presentation tool and cycles through the media-objects in its playlist until the programm is quit.
Now heres the problem:
After a number of pdfs have been shown the program just quits without any error or anything - it's just gone.
This happens only after a huge number of pdfs have been shown.
We think it might have to do with a limitation of the Adobe Reader which we are using through the Webkit Object in AIR.
It might be that the garbage collector don't recognize that we aren't showing a PDF anymore after switching the source-url of the Webkit Object and the PDF remains opened - I don't know.
Here we have written a little Application that does nothing else then switching between two PDFs constantly - after about an hour the app crashes silently - it just quits without an error.
In some cases the whole windows machine freezes.
This is a very strange bug which we CAN'T debug since its very likely caused by Adobe Reader (or AIR)?!

What is the current version of Reader installed on your machine.
Have you tried to uninstall and Reinstall or have you tried to update to the latest version.

Adobe Reader 9.2 and AIR hotfix
I'm running into an Adobe reader 9.2 and AIR compatibility problem. I developed an AIR App with
browser panel that invokes a PDF doc using Adobe Reader. When I update to the latest Adobe
Reader (9.2), I start having errors with a dialog saying errors related to the CoolType.dll.
I found this in one of the devnet articles which mentions a hotfix. Where do I get it??
I cannot find it anywhere on the Adobe site.

AIR applications are unable to load a PDF using Reader 9.2
AIR applications that load a PDF in the broswer will no longer work with Adobe Reader 9.2.
Recommended action: This issue will be addressed in an upcoming patch release to Reader. For
enterprises which can control the deployment of Reader, a hotfix is available from Adobe Support.

Eddy.As special service for you I just downloaded and installed the Reader V9.2,
opened the Reader via activex embedde into a small GUI
and loaded via src a testfile.
Then printed the file (manual via menuitems/print icon) with some different settings.
All works fine. Did you try other manual actions, like copy to clip, rotate, ...
Maybe it is a problem with your GUI.
Try to start embedded using IE as GUI or simple try if you can print a pdf opend via IE.
IE use the same activex as you for you GUI.
