I have attempted to down load Adobe Reader 57 times. NO LUCK. 8 of my friends are having the same problem. I am running windows 8. I was running Adobe Reader for the past 9 months and all of a sudden it stopped working. This is crazy. NEED HELP IN INSTALLING ADOBE READER ON MY COMPUTER. THANK'S

The computer you trying to get Reader installed on it. Is it your own computer or work computer?
It seems you might not have permission to install application.
You may try to create a new user profile with admin rights and then try installing again.

Mac OS 10.4.11: Adobe Reader could not install properly

Suddenly could not open pdf docs, uninstalled & reinstalled v9.0.0, cannot open application, get "Installing/fixing installation" then immediately get "Adobe Reader could not install correctly. Adobe Reader was unable to install a necessary component and must quit. pdf icons changed but docs open. What's happening here?

Adobe Reader will not install to my IMac OSX 100.7.5

When I have a program open and want to download a PDF file that is when I get message to install Adobe Reader in order to print the PDF, when I try to download the Reader it either goes through the install action and says it is downloaded or it tells me the Adobe Reader is already installed. Message doesn't matter because it is not downloaded and installed. The only thing I find in my Finder download section is the Adobe Reader install download. I have tried this so many times. When I first got my Mac I downloaded the Adobe Flash Player with no problem. Any suggestions?

Correct info would have prevented a pointless waste of time. The other Flash Player test page also reports the wrong information when viewing via Safari and FF.

Adobe Reader can not open thousands of vital PDF files for the company I work for.

Adobe Reader can open every PDF file on our server except for the many files that were received by one company. The coding is corrupt and I have not found a solution yet on how to decode it in order for it to open properly.
I have looked into using uudecode but the online service it provided didn't seem to recognize the code I was putting in.
The coding to these PDF files looks like this:
From what I have seen all of the working files are much shorter and the coding is a lot more organized and starts with %PDF
If anyone can help me decode it or somehow restore it without receiving the file from the original sender, that would be ideal. Any other suggestions are much appreciated.

Your analysis is good. All working PDFs will start %PDF. These files may be
* encoded
* compressed
* damaged in transit
* destroyed by malware
* not a PDF but mislabelled
The format is certainly not uuencode/uudecode nor anything I've seen before. I think you need to contact the senders. If they say there isn't a problem, send a file back and ask if it works for them, because that will check for damage etc. If they CAN open it, they have some special tools or procedures and need to share them with you.

Adobe Reader can not be installed on my Window 7 laptop. An error code is 150210.

Adobe Reader can not open up file on website

I have already Adobe Reader 9.0, but when I press links to the sites that have Adobe file, I get this error message:
"The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser. Adobe Acrobat/Reader version 8 or 9 is required. Please exit and try again."
The problem is I already have Adobe Reader 9.0, what do I do now? Should I unintall something or add something?

I have this same issue across our network in the office. We actually run 3 PDF managers simultaneously for various reasons, but the issue you are having is the same as what we are encountering. Most workstations are on XPPROSP3 and IE7 Silverlight. I did come across a procedure in another
Forum that has supposedly repaired this issue:
Close all IE Windows
Open Adober Reader or Acrobat
Select EDIT from menu
Preferences>Internet Options/Settings>
Deselect PDF in Browser
Press OK
Return to EDIT menu again>Preferences>Internet Category>Select PDF in Browser
Press OK and close application
Relaunch IE and try to open a PDF

The other suggested repair is to run the repair install from within Adobe. I have tried the above and ran the repair from Adobe as well as Control Panel Add/Remove Programs, Reinstall/Repair. It is slightly more complicated in our environment b/c of the other PDF viewers/managers we use for various reasons. Still researching and testing for issue resolution. Try it.

My Adobe Reader stopped letting me print any PDF files. I went thru troubleshooting with another company, still wouldn't let me print. So I uninstalled Adobe Reader, restarted my computer and have tried 4 times to download and install it again. I even tried it from the direct link. It gets so far into the installation and gives me an error saying I have to be signed in as Admin. This is my personal computer and I am the Admin. I do not have any other accounts set up on the computer except me as Admin. . HELP

You don't say which OS you are using and that would be helpful, but try creating a new Admin account and then installing under that account.

Adobe Reader is not installing

I am using windows XP. I have used Adobe reader before. But, recently i have formatted my system and after that i tried to install adobe reader, but it is not installin in my system.
Could any one please tell me the reason??

Adobe Reader Plugin not installed in IE

W7 64 bit Ultimate
I have Adobe Reader installed and running fine on my PC (Adobe Reader XI - 11.0.09)
It also works fine within Firefox .. plugin installed, enabled & working
However due to a specific requirement I have to use IE (v 11 latest)
This currently will not work with on-line adobe forms ... "Read X" shows when I try to access adobe forms, when I look under add-ons .... only Adobe Shock wave shows, there is no Adobe reader plug-in.
I have re-run Adobe Reader install ... it comes back with message 'application already installed'
How can I install the IE browser plug-in?
Within Manager Add-ons I click on 'find plugins & toolbars' but it has nothing for Adobe or reader (pretty useless)

Slight typo .... the form on screen was all in RED tables lines ... and above it a large Red 'X'
In show all add-ons it did not show ... full de-install & re-install of Adobe Reader XI made no difference.
I then deinstalled IE and re-installed and it seems to have fixed it.

We're experiencing the following issue:
We attempt to go to various web sites (we work in insurance, so have a number of company sites that use PDF documents in the page). Initially, we went through a series of calls to these companies and were told to "check the 'display pdf in browser' option". Doing so fixed the issue for some, but others continue to present a message that reads: "You do not have Adobe Reader installed which is required to use our site. Download it here..." We do have it installed and it is in use for other web sites.
This affects multiple Windows XP systems in a domain where a group policy is in place preventing user access to edit the HKLM portion of the registry. This affects both users of our Citrix TS environment and local PC users.
We suspect it has some conflict with the group policy and I'm curious if others have seen this situation.

[Bug Report!]Adobe Reader can not display 3D file normally!

I have a 3D pdf file,which is produced by Asymptote,and some labels in the 3D model, can not be displayed normally in the Adobe Reader,even the latest version 9.4.I got this file by

Adobe reader plugin not installing

Hi,
I'm trying to open adobe reader in safari to read pdf's. I have the latest versions of safari and reader and the plugin is within the /Library/Internet Plug-ins/ folder. I have the right boxes clicked within adobe's preferences. The plugin doesn't seem to be installed when I go to Help -> Installed Plugins within Safari. Does anyone have guidance for me? Is this a lost cause?

Sometimes 2 or more Reader plug-ins are inadvertently installed in the system; one in the Main Library, the other(s) in the User Account>Library.
Check your User Library>Internet Plug-in folder. If the Reader plug-in is installed there as well as in your Main Library>Internet Plug-in folder, remove one of them. The former makes Reader accessible only to your User Account, the latter makes it accessible to any User Account.

The problem sometimes occur in my computer in my office. Our user use winxp operating system and the version of adobe reader is 11.0.It can not open, and show the message .

Sorry, I just noticed that you are on Windows XP. XP is no longer supported by the latest Reader version.
Update to 11.0.08.
