Adobe Reader Extension Software 7

From where can I get / download the Adobe Reader Extension Server 7.0
I tried on "http://www.adobe.com/products/server/readerextensions/main.html" link also, but there it does not give any link for download.

Tejraj:
You cannot download a trial version of LiveCycle Reader Extensions.
The easiest way to get started with LC Reader Extensions is to join the Adobe Enterprise Developer Program. When you join the program, you get access to LiveCycle software, including Reader Extensions, as well as developer support (via email) for 1 year.
For more information about the program, head to http://partners.adobe.com/public/asn/developer/detail_edp.html To join the program, purchase it through the online store at http://store.adobe.com/store/products/master.jhtml?id=catEnterpriseDeveloper
If you have questions about the program, I'm more than happy to answer them.
Thanks,

  • Questions regarding Adobe Reader Extensions for Adobe Livecycle.

    Hi,
I'm relatively new to Adobe products, having just started to use Adobe Livecycle over the last couple of weeks. I've produced a set of interactive forms for field engineers to use. When completed, they will submit the xml data via email. However, there will be numerous occasions where they will need to stop in the middle of data collection and come back at a later point to finish, hence the need to locally save the information before submission.
I understand this is where Adobe reader extensions would come in, unlocking this functionality.
At the moment, i'm a bit of a loss on several points regarding how reader extensions work and i was wondering if anybody could fill in the gaps:
    1. Are they seperate modules that bolt in into the main Livecycle application?
    2. As these forms will be used off line, i would like to set the permissions to the pdf locally. From what i read, Reader Extensions is a server product. Is this correct, or can i use Reader Extensions to set these permissions before publishing the adobe form?
    3. Where can i get hold of Reader Extensions and how much do they cost? I have been reading information on similar topics on this forum (dating 3-4 years ago) that say reader extensions are comparitavely expensive to a Adobe Pro/Livecycle licence. ($50,000 upwards) Is this correct? If so, is there a cheaper alternative to achieve the same outcome?
I hope someone can shed some light on these points!
    Thanks in advance.
    Rob

Reader Extensions can be bought as a module in LiveCycle. There is a subset of RE functionality that exists in Acrobat. The ability to save locally is part of Acrobat. In both cases you woudl RE the form before distributing it, hence when the user gets your form they are ready to go. You can download a trial version of the server product. As far as pricing goes you woudl be better to talk to an Adobe salesrep as there are discounts for certain situations as well as different pricing options. If you decide tp gp the Acrobat route you ar limited, by licence, to distribute your form to a max of 500 users.
    Hope that helps

  • What version of Adobe Reader Extension  ?

    hi,
I am running Adobe Reader Extension v7.0 to certify form.
We have a couple of issues of form which behave differently when forms are openning in browser and form operates on Windows. Basically, the checkbox is not checked etc..
Does anybody know if there is an issue of form certify on Reader extension 7.0 and forms is open in Adobe Reader 7.0.5 or above ?
is there any service pack for Adobe Reader Extension 7.0 ?

I'm not aware of any issues there Edward - we did just release Reader 7.0.8 and while the change notes don't mention anything specific to ARES it might be worth giving it a try with the latest version.

  • Adobe Reader 9 Software Size

Before downloading the Adobe Reader 9 software, the web page says 33.5 MB; but, after downloading my computer says 204 MB which is confirmed.
    What is going on?

Most downloaded software that uses Windows Installer (recommended by
Microsoft) will end up with two, sometimes three, complete copies of
itself on disk. The exact size depends on how Windows manages the
Installer database, it can't really be said to be up to developers any
    more. Pity.
    > I have never before witnessed a software program that listed its compressed MB state and not stated its full decompressed MB.
Your experience does not match mine. It is considered good practice to
show the size in MB of a download so people can see how long it will
take; showing the size needed to install might be useful too.

  • Adobe Reader Extension: no .pfx nor .p12 file on Adobe portal

For full disclosure: I'm asking as reseller for one of my customers.
This customer purchased Adobe Reader Extension, has installed it, and now needs a .pfx or .p12 file to configure its credentials. They claim there's nothing on the Adobe customer portal.
It should be available as ESD on there, right? If so, where exactly would they be able to see it (I would presume under the Reader Extension tab)?
How can I help the customer obtain its .pfx or .p12 files as soon as possible?
    Thanks!

  • Inconsistent naming conventions for Adobe Reader in software scan

I just want to see if anyone knows why Adobe's free pdf Reader appears both as "Adobe Reader" AND "Adobe Acrobat Reader". I manage software licenses for an organization of 400+, and it's difficult to know if, for instance Adobe Acrobat - Reader 6.0.2 Update - 6.0.2, should or should not be counted as a purchased license without actually visiting each workstation to verify. I've spoken with our network operations personnel and they confirmed that it is not manually entered by our personnel, but that it is something in the software. ??
Furthermore, why are the naming conventions not consistent even among those that can be identified easily? The list below is what I see when I run a report for all Adobe software on our network.

    Junlie et al,
Starting with Acrobat 9 (announced on 6/2/08), Adobe will support the new ISO/IEC 19770-2 standard for universal software tagging. The new standard will allow customers to correctly identify the name, version, type and licensing status of Adobe software (starting with the Acrobat 9 family and later on as new versions of the products are introduced later this and next year).
I DO understand your frustration with the in consistencies in the naming of our software, but the problem of software discovery goes well beyond our lack of discipline. This is one of the many reasons why Adobe invested time and effort with the industry group defining the new open standard, and in software asset management in general.
More information about tagging standard can be found here: http://www.agnitioadvisors.com/info/content/view/44/1/

  • Disable the adobe reader extension

I am creating a form in Live cycle designer 8.2 - Previously I enabled the reader extensions in Acrobat 9.0 Pro. I now want to put a hyperlink to a particular page - (normally I would use the link option in Acrobat pro. This is greyed out because it is reader enabled. How do I remove it. I have tried save As (with a different name) in acrobat pro. Saving with different name in live cycle. OPening in reader and saving a copy.
Found links on website saying save as copy strips out the reader enabled properties but there is no Save as copy in acrobat 9.0 pro.
    Any help appreciated.

You can't use the Link Tool in Acrobat on a form created with LiveCycle Designer.

  • Is it possible to achieve Interactive PDFs with Adobe Reader Mobile Software Development Kit?

    Hi Guys,
Is it possible to develop mobile solution on iOS to support Interactive PDFs?
Interactive PDFs here means, a PDF might contain textfields, labels. And User should be able to edit those textfields & save the value in PDF.
    Thanks.

Hi, it is not possible with PDF format.  Interactive elements are now supported through EPUB 3 in Adobe Reader Mobile SDK since version 11.

  • Does Adobe 9 Reader disable reader extensions?

I have and heavily use Adobe Reader Extensions 6.0. It has worked fine for some time, until now. When a user upgraded to Adobe Reader 9.0 from 8.12, the form would no longer save. Am I dead in the water until I upgrade? That's expensive!

Try creating a new shortcut to the installation, instructions as follows:
Right click the existing shortcut on your desktop and go to Properties.
Click the button called "Find Target". This will take you to the installation folder.
Delete the existing shortcut on your desktop.
In the installation folder, AcroRd32.exe will be highlighted already.
Using the right mouse button, drag it onto the desktop. When you let go of the right mouse button, you'll get a menu. Choose "Create Shortcut Here".
If the problems persist, do what the other contributor suggested and uninstall/reinstall. If you decide to reinstall v9 again, go here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/direct/
After you install it, close your browser and then open Reader via the desktop shortcut, go to Help | Check For Updates in order to update it to v9.4.6 which is the patched version.
Updating to v9.4.6 doesn't update the Firefox plugin which will remain at v9.4.5.236. That will expose your PC to security vulnerabilities and therefore it will be better to disable the plugin in the Plugins manager which you can access by hitting CTRL+SHIFT+A. Then click the link to "Plugins" in the menu and finally, click the "Disable" button. If you subsequently land on a PDF site, Firefox will display a dialog where you can choose whether to download the file to your local machine, or open it with the plugin. If you're on a bona fide site, then it's OK, but if you're unsure, download it to your own PC and then right click and scan it for malware before opening it.

  • Having compatiblity issues with adobe reader.  What pdf file software should I use with Mac

Having problem with Adobe reader what software works well on mac for pdf file creation/reading and sending via email.  Also how do I uninstall adobe reader so that all hints of it are erased.

To remove the Adobe PDF Reader:
    1. Drag the Adobe Reader folder from the Applications folder to the Trash
    2. Remove AdobePDFViewer.plugin from the Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder
Macs offer good PDF capability in the operating system. You can use Word or other program to create somthing you want to save/send in PDF format, then choose print, click on the PDF button at the bottom of the print window, where you can choose to email the PDF file.

  • Reader Extensions to retrieve data from form?

    Hello
Will it possible to retrieve the formdata of a PDF form by an external program if I have Adobe Reader Extensions?
    Thank you
    Sincerely
    Lore
P.S.: Will this be possible also by Form Based Pricing Reader Extensions?

It depends on the software. It is not impossible (i.e. the file is not
encrypted in a secret way). Consult the vendor.

  • LiveCycle Reader Extensions on Windows XP

I have noticed that the requirements for LiveCycle Reader Extensions do not list Windows XP (desktop) as a possible installation environment. This would be the ideal environment for me to run the software on as I will only use it every six months or so when forms are reviewed and it will be a right pain to find a suitable server that it can be installed on within this organisation.
With this in mind I can't figure out why it wouldn't run it in an XP desktop environment. It runs on a JBoss server and JBoss runs on XP and, although its not supported by Adobe, it should be possible to install OpenDS on XP as the LDAP directory server.
Has anyone tried a similar set up or is there anyone who can tell me why it isn't possible to run the Reader Extensions software on XP?
    Thanks,
    David

    Hi Valerio,
The LiveCycle Reader Extensions run-time environment consists of modules that are deployed to the J2EE application server, where the modules run as services. After you deploy the modules, you are ready to use the web application or the programmable APIs to select the usage rights that LiveCycle Reader Extensions will add to the PDF documents. The deployed modules and custom applications running on the J2EE application server work together to process the requests for the rights-enabled PDF documents and process the resulting data that is captured.
As long as the above requirements are satisfied Reader Extensions Server should have no problem working
    thanks
    George

  • Unable to save LiveCycle PDF form in Adobe Reader: Steps on Adobe don't work

I went to follow the steps provided in the help video on Adobe. Two issues I couldn't solve:
How do you login to LiveCycle via the web as an admin? How do you get to the LiveCycle admin portal?
The local host (http://localhost:8080/ReaderExtensions) is unavailable. Every time I try to go there I get a 500 error message page. What is the new local host?
    The steps I followed were:
So according to a video on its official website, in order to enable LiveCycle forms in Reader so they can be saved you need an Adobe Reader Extension which means we need a Reader Extension Credential loaded onto the server. For that you need to purchase a Reader extension license from Adobe.
However, there is a trial version Eric or Jay could instal for me on the Remote Desktop. They can find it at:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/livecycle.html
They will want to download the “Trial Reader Extensions Certificate” under “Downloads and updates”. It’s a 30 day trial which should work fine for our needs.
The credential then needs to be imported into the Adobe Administrator. To do that they need to:
Login to LiveCycle as an admin (via the web?)
    Go to “Settings"
    Go to “Trust store management”
    Go to “Local credentials”
    Click “Import"
Trust store type should be “Reader Extensions Credential”
Give it a name (i.e. Alias)
    Browse to credential file
    .pfx is the credential file
    .txt is the password
    Right-click the .txt
    Click “Open”
    Copy password from notepad
    Close notepad
    Open the .pfx file
Paste in password copied from .txt file under “Password” in import form
    Click OK
Then there’s something about going to Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions program (http://localhost:8080/ReaderExtensions). Don’t ask. I’m personally lost at this point.
In Extensions program they need to:
    Select the Extensions credential
Click the check box next to
    “Basic form fill-in”
    “Import and export data”
    “Submit outside of web browser”
    “Database and web service connectivity”
    “Digital Signatures”
    “Commenting”
    “Online Commenting"
    Set “Draft Level” to “Final”
Click the check box next to “Full Save”
“Browse” to the SNAP Survey I created and saved on the server.
    Click “Apply”
    In new window that appears:
    Click “Download”
    Save back to the server

If you're on the machine that's running LC the administrator console is http://localhost:8080/adminui
If you're not able to get to localhost:8080/ReaderExtensions then I suspect the LiveCycle server is not on your machine.  If that's the case you'll have to find out the name of the server running LiveCycle and connect using that name instead of localhost.

  • Adobe reader printing problems

    Hi all,
I have created a word document, and converted it to .pdf using Cute PDF writer. When I open the document in Adobe reader 7/8 I can see the document fine and clear with all fonts and images as they should be.
The problem is when I try to print the document. When I print from Adobe 8, the font (Gill Sans MT to be specific) doesn't print correctly. Instead of getting a word with one letter after the other, all letters of that word are printing on top of each other if you get me. This can happen anywhere on the page.
However, if I open the document in Adobe reader 7 - the document prints correctly. No problems. I have tried this on a number of machines so I can safely say its not a problem with the install of the software on any of the machines. It just seems to be an incompatibility with the Adobe reader 8 software.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening or how I can get around this on Adobe reader 8?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Mo

a bug most likely. I can only see a couple of options for you. Don't use Reader 8, use a different PDF creator, or try to tweak the settings in in Cute PDF to make it embed and encode the fonts so that Reader 8 can print successfully.
