Adobe Reader: file conversion

I've purchased the Adobe subcription service to convert PDF files into word. When I click on the "convert" button,  it keeps  bringing me to the "Subsciption" site, and won't convert the file. How can I perform  this function?

  • How to open Adobe Reader file from another native IOS application?

There is an existing thread, but I want to re-open it because I think this is an important feature that we need badly.  I was wondering if there is any plan to add this feature so we can open PDFs directly into Adobe from the web / other apps.
How to open Adobe Reader file from another native IOS application?
Basically, we just want to use a custom URL scheme to open a specific document in the App.  Currently, this only opens the app but does not load the file.
    APB

Not to hijack the conversation but I can explain why this would be useful for both the above case and another.
What I believe Pavel is talking about is setting up a "URL Scheme" for the Adobe Acrobat iOS application so that you can easily open a PDF specifically in Adobe Acrobat iOS from other native applications and even from web applications opened within Safari. This is particularly useful if your application requires some of the specific features in Adobe Reader iOS to grant them the best experience possible and you want to encourage this.
Another case: If you're using Adobe Livecycle's document security modules (that encrypts PDF files so that Adobe Acrobat must "phone home" to decrypt and view the document), these PDF's can only be viewed inside the Adobe Acrobat application and appear as blank in most other PDF readers. Having a URL scheme allows your application utilising this functionality to have a 1 click step to view the PDF rather than the current non-user friendly process:
    - Within Safari, touch the PDF link (appears as blank in the default Safari PDF reader, which in itself is confusing)
      - Touch "Open in..."
      - Touch "Adobe Acrobat"
We have an immediate need for this functionality for the example above. I can resubmit it in a separate post if necessary.

  • How can I transfer an adobe reader file to Microsoft word?

I have Windows Vista on my machine. I really need to transfer an Adobe reader file into Microsoft word or at least be able to type inside of Adobe. Just wondering how can I do this task or am I just not able to?
Any help or suggestions out there..?

That would require using Adobe Acrobat. It can create Word docs from PDF's.
The bad news is, most of the time it doesn't do a very good job at it.
With Acrobat, you could also add form fields that you can fill in which would be much better.

Long hold on the document in mail and it should give you the open in... option, select adobe reader and the file is now saved locally for viewing even while offline.

  • Adobe reader file preview type library reference

Where I will may see adobe reader file preview type library reference?

I would guess that this interface is registered and used by Windows to generate previews for Explorer. It is not supported or documented, but if it does that, it won't have anything to do with text extraction.
Adobe Reader has a supported interface for displaying in a window.
For a text extraction API you'd want Acrobat, which would allow you via VBA to run JavaScript to get text quads.
Note that this is not for server use. If you want server text extraction consider Adobe's PDF iFilter. This is unusual in that it is supported but is not in the SDK; Microsoft define the interfaces to iFilters, not Adobe.
If you have further questions about Acrobat or Reader development, I'd recommend that you post in the Acrobat SDK forum, to reach the right experts.

  • Cannot open adobe reader files.....because it was not a supported type file.......

Cannot open adobe reader file............could not open because it was not a supported type file...........or damaged by email.... What support does it need????

Impossible to say. All we can know is that it is NOT a valid PDF file.
You could take a look. Try this.
    1. Open the file in Microsoft Word (or NotePad).
    2. If the file is good, use it - it was a Word (or text) file.
    3. Otherwise, look at the first few lines. These will probably be gobbledegook.
    4. Copy and paste the first few lines into your reply, perhaps someone will recognise what the file really is.

  • Open adobe reader file - read option - instead of open

When I try to open a adobe reader file by right clicking it I get " read" instead of "open " file.
please see attached file for an example of what I mean.
In the attahed printed screen file it says open - this is OK.
but in my other pc I have only "read" not open.
    your help would be appreciated
    Thanks
    Omer

If I press Read the file opens OK with no problem.
The problem is that if I try to open the same file from a third party program it does not open .
The file looks like it does know what windows extension it is supposed to be.
I will try to post a screen shot from the other PC
    thanks

  • How to add pages to existing Adobe Reader files

    Existing Adobe Reader file.

With no original (from which the PDF file was made)? No way with just the free Reader. Can be done with Acrobat or some of the PDF Pack services.

  • How do I sync my Adobe Reader files from my smartphone to my laptop?

I have some e-books and files on my Adobe Reader app through my phone, but I also want to read them on my laptop by logging on to Adobe.com. How can I sync these files from one place to another?

If you keep the files on Acrobat.com, and access them only from there, they are automatically synched.
I have some PDF forms on Acrobat.com, which I update sometimes from my desktop and sometimes from my Android tablet.  I always see the latest version on either platform.

  • Troubleshoot pdf adobe reader file to convert to doc and save to disk

I unfortunately have major issues with pdf files. I am not even certain how or why I am no longer able to use postscripts to view online pdf files which then enabled me to save as either a word docx or as in pages or in excell on my computer. Because many websites require adobe reader to view pdf files I downloader the adobe reader 11.0.04. Since then all online / htlm files can not be saved accordingly. In addition when I create a word, excell or page file and want to save it as a pdf on computer drive it only allows it to be saved to adobe online pdf.
I never signed up to have adobe save pdf files online. I do not have share file options or any type of online subscriptions. I checked my system preferences and do not have cloud documents checked off.
I want to find out is it possible to view, convert and save online web archieve and other pdf files without adobe. If so what and how.
What is the equivilant of a pdf converter app which I thought I had on my Mac. FYI using Mac book pro OS 10.8.5 not ready to go to 10.9.
I use Safari 80% of time and Firefox the rest of time but only when websites work with Safari.
If I were to eliminate adobe reader pdf plug in but wanted current disk saved files to open a pdf version what would happen? I admit I feel a bit behind in understanding pdf and webarchieve mechanics but am willing to learn. So if anyone can give me online learining tutorials that not only explain how but also provide video practice I would appreciate it.

Another option is Sirvisetti AutoMail Desktop Connector (part of Sirvisetti AutoStream family of products) that allows you to convert any document to PDF and automatically launches your default e-mail client with the document attached. You just need to add To/Cc/Bcc, type in the subject and message body and click send!
You can request for a demo at http://www.sirvisetti.com
    Hope it helps!

  • Can you fix an Adobe Reader file that has been edited by another pdf reader?

I have created report card templates in Acrobat Pro that have adobe scripting language built into their drop down lists so that when a color is selected they change color. I gave them extended Reader rights and the teachers have been told to only use Adobe Reader to enter their grades. Of course one of them used foxit to edit the files and now the arrows in the dropdown lists which should not print, are printing. Is there a way to fix this or are they corrupted permanently? I can see the scripting language is still there when I open them up in Acrobat Pro.
    Thanks for your help.
