Adobe Reader forms broken under Mavericks

Aftr installing Mavericks on Mac, you can fill in Adobe Reader forms as before, but when you try to e-mail them only the blank form is put in the e-mail. Anyone have a solution? Any idea if this also happens with Acrobat?

is the problem specific to Reader 11 ? not experienced on reader 10 ?
you could compare the settings of a working Reader 10.x with Reader 11.x where it throws the exception.
Also ensure that while creating form in designer > File > Form properties> Default PDF render format is set as: Dynamic XML Form.

IN I.E. 11 under manage-Addons Adobe reader only appears under Run Without permission not under currently loaded
Is this expected behavior. I have some sites that will not load adobe documents. The site in question is a School District application that we cannot open seating charts.
This was installed using an MSI. Test sites I go to work fine.

I believe with further investigation that this is normal and when a PDF document is open it then shows in currently loaded.

  • Does Adobe Illustrator 10 run under Mavericks or Yosemite?

I've put off upgrading from OS 10.6.8 because I do a lot of work in Adobe Illustrator 10.  I can't really justify the expense of upgrading to any of Adobe's Creative Suite packages because the Illustrator work I do doesn't bring in any revenue.  Increasingly, other software I need will no longer run under 10.6.  I'm kind of between a rock and a hard place on this.  So, is anybody out there able to run Illustrator 10 under Mavericks or Yosemite, or even OS10.8?  Thanks.

Upgrading an OS does not have to be an all-or-nothing proposition. You can simply have two operating systems installed, if you want to preserve Snow Leopard and Illustrator 10, and also use a later OS for other apps. You can add an external HD for the newer OS and apps for way, way less than the cost of Illustrator 5.5. You can also use your new drive/OS to safely explore the workability of running Snow Leopard Server in a VM (virtual machine) using Parallels or VMware Fusion on a 10.8 or later system. It would cost a very modest amount to try the combination of VMware Fusion and Snow Leopard Server. Server is available from Apple for $20 (but only by calling them). I don't remember what Fusion costs, but it works well and the license allows you to install it on more than one machine, which the Parallels' license doesn't.

  • Adobe Reader form in Windows 8 Tablet

I created a fill-n-able form in Acrobat Pro X, made it Reader Enabled and uploaded it to a Windows 8 tablet. The Sign, Place Signature feature only offers the end user  the ability to use a digital, certified signature. The Draw Signature option is greyed out. Any thoughts on how to enable "Draw My Signature" in the Reader on a Windows 8 tablet?

I understand. There has always been differences between the behavior of the desktop and mobile versions or Adobe Reader and necessarily always will be. The ability to add a hand-drawn signature with the desktop versions was added as an EchoSign feature. When the "Done Signing" button is clicked, any text, signature, and other annotations that were added get flattened, which removes the form fields, leaving just their appearances behind. With an enabled form, the pencil tool can be used to add a hand-drawn signature, but it won't get flattened when saved. A stamp could also be used, but they'd have to install a custom stamp. Signatures placed using the EchoSign "Place Signature" method are added as stamps.

  • Adobe Reader XI - Broken PDF association

    Hello,
My aim is to leave Adobe Acrobat as the default PDF handler if Reader is installed after Acrobat.
When I edit LEAVE_PDFOWNERSHIP and IW_DEFAULT_VERB settings in an MST file (as shown below).
PDF association is broken. Clicking PDF files from the internet browsers generate this error message
In theory, it should work as described here -> http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Wizard/installoptions.html, however, it seems that AR XI's PDF plug-in capability is being broken once these changes are made.
Has anyone been able to circumvent this?

Not possible with Adobe Reader. With Adobe Acrobat you can print to Adobe PDF.

  • Adobe Acrobat Prof. 8 and Adobe Reader Version 11 under Windows 8.1 x64

    Good Afternoon,
my company plan migration from Windows XP to Windows 8.1 x64. For this reason shall I find out, which Software run under Windows 8.1 x64. From Adobe Products we need to know, if  Adobe Acrobat Prof. 8 and Adobe Reader Version 11 run under Windows 8.1.
If the Software named above run not under Windows 8.1 x64, could you write me please, which version we need und how much it is. Thank you very much.
    Best Regards

If you have Acrobat, there is no need for Reader. Acrobat 8 is not certified for use on Win8.1, only Acrobat XI. You can get the current cost from the Adobe Store at Adobe.com. The cost is a per computer license. If you have a lot of computer, you might be able to negotiate with Adobe on a volume order or site license (for so many licenses) -- you would have to call Adobe on that.
AA 8 can be made to work in some cases, but I would not recommend it in a business environment. It is not worth risking some hickup with software that is marginally compatible when you have some deadline or such.

  • Intel Fortran compiler broken under Mavericks

After upgrading to OS 9 on a Mac Pro and a MacBook Pro, and installing Xcode 5.0.1 on both, my Intel Fortran compiler (vs 12.0.5) no longer works.  I have updated the command line tools.  When I try compiling a source file it fails with the message:
ifort: error #10001: could not find directory in which g++ resides
There is a compiler option to specify the location of g++ "-gxx-name=" but this doesn't help - same error message.  I'm not sure if I need to set a system variable or if I need to go back to an earlier version of Xcode.  Has anyone managed to get their Intel Fortran compiler working under Mavericks?

I haven't found this topic in the other Categories, so I'll reply here:
I'm having the same problem!!! Leopard has crashed ifort 32 bits! So I can't run my programs on my macbook core duo (32 bits), although it's ok with the ifort 64 bits version. But I really REALLY need the 32 version working on Leopard. Anyone has any clue about how to solve it? I've tried some 9.1 ifort's versions and the new 10.1 version. You can find evaluation versions on the intel's site.
    Please someone help us.
    Thanks,
    Filipe

that I can not remove the program. My computer got stuck on it and I had to do the end program option because it would not close out. I know that Adobe has been on my computer ever since I can remember. I honestly don't know what it is (Adobe Reader) and am very frustrated because I don't know weather getting rid of it (Adobe Reader) will cause problems on this computer or not. Please help cause I don't know what to do....I need it to opperate as it did before and with out upgrading it (free) or I can't use it and need to remove it. Sincerely me

    Hi 8ublessed,
I will agree with Test Screen Name, there is very less information to figure out the root cause of the issue you are facing. If you want to remove Adobe Reader, please use the cleaner tool - http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

  • How can I uninstall adobe Reader on my macbook/Mavericks, how can I uninstall adobe Reader on my macbook/Mavericks

I tried already all ways that i found in the internet to uninstall adobe from my mac (through Library and with a downloaded uninstaller) still the pdfs open with adobe, what's wrong?

    1. Adobe Reader is in the Applications folder. You can trash it from there.
    2. If you want a pdf to be opened by a different App, you can set that using a .pdf file. Control click on a .pdf and then click Open With. Next identify the App in the list that appears that you want to use. If you do not see what you want in the drop down list, select Other and navigate to the App.

  • How do I open pdfs in iBook and not Adobe reader? (OS X Mavericks)

On iOS devices, I can save and read pdfs in iBooks. How do I do it in the new application for OS X Mavericks?

    Hello there, FootballTechGeek.
The following Knowledge Base article shows how this can be done:
OS X Mountain Lion: Choose an app to open a document
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11329
    Particularly:
    Permanently change the document’s app
Select the document and choose File > Get Info.
In the Info window, click the triangle next to “Open with” to expand the section.
Choose an app from the pop-up menu, or choose Other to locate a different app.
If you want to use that app to open all documents of the same type as the current document and created by the same app, click Change All.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • In Adobe Reader form, need to change font size!

typing into a job application form, my font is too large. How do I make my font smaller to fit. On an iMAC. running Reader 10.1.12 or whatever is current.

You can only change the font size if the author of the form defined the field as having rich text contents. If that's the case press Ctrl+E and you'll be able to edit it.
    Edit: It's Cmd+E on a Mac...
