Adobe reader freehand drawing function

How do you change the color of the pen when making notes on PDFs on the iPad?

Hi,
After crearting thr freehand hand drawing, please tap on save which is present on top right corner.
After saving the free hand, tap on it(freehand drawing). A context menu will appear. Tap on "Color...". It will show you a list of colors. Tap on the color you want and that will change the color of the free hand drawing you created.
Thanks,
Ankit

  • I need Active X plug-in for some features my brokerage website for Jave and Adobe Reader to properly function. You have blocked Active X. How do I get it to wo

My brokerage requires Active X in order for Adobe Reader and Java to function. Without Active X neither work. After a lengthy session with their tech staff I was told to contact you or use IE. I hate IE. IE is the whole reason I got FF back when you folks first updated it to FF 0.7. That was in early '04. I haven't looked back. I HATE IE!
PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME TO USE IE.
If Active X is so bad, why does Google Chrome use it? Is it not a security thing but rather a licensing issue?

Firefox does not support ActiveX. It's proprietary so that's why. But I found a solution for you. Download this http://code.google.com/p/ff-activex-host/downloads/detail?name=ffactivex-setup-r39.exe&can=2&q=
This will allow you to have Active X working.

  • Adobe reader "save as" function is not working

screen tells me the adobe folder is empty and that the "save as" function is malfunctioning when I try to download pdfs from a particular site. If I'm using EI - it freezed EI on the blank download screen.  I have deleted and redownloaded Adobe Reader but that didn't fix the problem. Any idea where the problem lies?

"screen tells me the adobe folder is empty" - exactly what do you mean by the "adobe folder" and what does the screen tell you?
"the save as function is malfunctioning" - exactly what happens?
Please give messages in full. Please give your system and version of Adobe Reader.
    What is EI?

  • An apparent failure of the Adobe Reader's Search Function

    Hi
I am helping my brother in Australia with computer usage, I am in the UK. He is studying Roman History and I introduced him to MS OneNote as a method of storing and cataloging his required readings. This has worked well until recently when he found a complete failure of its search function to find words within the text. After confirming that this wasn't a user fault, I suggested we actually saved the pdf file from the university web site and use Adobe's search function. Unfortunately, we experienced exactly the same problem. I have used Adobe to search many PDF publications, mainly User Manuals, with great success and I am puzzled as to why this failure may be occuring. As a test, I have loaded one of his pdf files into Adobe Reader 9.3 and search for words like Roman and tigris and even when I am on the same page as the word, the 'End of Document' dialogue appears.
I would appreciate any advice or help in this matter.
    Best regards
    Mike Staveley

    See the docs: http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/index.html.
The admin guide tells you what updates are cumulative (all 10.x quarterlies) and how to set the lang via the cmd line. However, check out the Wizard Guide and download the free Wizard to customize your install and .ini as needed. Much easier.

  • Is there a bug that would keep Adobe Reader from being functional in Safari 7.0.1?

Since upgrading to OS X 10.9.1, I sometimes find that Safari cannot open a page but rather opening a black page instead. I thought I was solving the problem by removing Adobe Reader and whatever ancillary files could be found (using either App Cleaner or App Zapper)

    Back up all data.
Remove the "cleaner" apps according to the developers' instructions. Never install them, or anything like them, again.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others — I don't have a complete list. Don't remove Silverlight if you use the "Netflix" video-streaming service.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • Adobe Reader 9 Find Function Finds Nothing

When trying to use the Find or Search functionality within Reader 9 in one particular document, I've noticed that nothing is found, not even simple text on the same page I'm looking at. The document in question is 246 pages long; could that have something to do with it?

I have the same problem -- but I don't have MSWord. I have WordPerfect (v12). I can look at a PDF file that I created using WordPerfect, and Reader still won't Find words or phrases in text I can see, text I know is in there because I put it there. (Not that the problem is limited to PDF files from WordPerfect -- or to the Find command. The more global Search command also fails to bring up the desired text. Even Windows Explorer can find the text in these PDF files -- and it seems to refuse to do that for the WordPerfect files themselves. So why can't Reader?)
I can copy and paste PDF-file text (when there is text) into WordPerfect; there, it comes up with a lot of unnecessary font and size commands, but shows up as indicated. I can likewise import the text into NotePad or WordPad, with no visible problems.
So what do we *do* about this? Is it something wrong with Reader v9, or some parameter we can set in Reader to recognize fonts better, or what?

  • HP Laserjet P1005 print in Text Edit but nor in Word or Adobe Reader

I just bought a HP LaserJet P1005 printer, it does print in all the aplications that camed with the operating system Mac OS X 10.4.10 ( Text Edit, Ical, Iweb, Sherlock, etc) but It does not print in any other aplication ( Open Office, Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, Freehand, etc).
I have already installed last version of the HP driver and also updated the OS to 10.4.11 but there is no difference.
Because the printer is on guarantee I did call to HP, but they said that if the printer print in aplications lake text edit, the printer is ok, so the would not replace it.
Anyway I do not know if other printer with the same model would work or if it would have the same problem.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks a lot.

I see that the original poster has returned the printer but figured I'd post in case others are having this issue.
Same problem here: Intel iMac, latest updates applied (Tiger), brand new printer, Office Mac 2004
Verifying disk, repairing permissions does not solve this problem. Trashing all the Microsoft preferences and reinstalling didn't work. I have a slew of these same iMacs running Office X and they print with no problems so I removed Office 2004 and went back to X and still had the same problem.
It's bizarre. I was able to print an Excel file but when I try to print a Word document the printer window jumps to "Jobs Stopped" a few seconds after receiving the job. Clicking "Start Jobs" results in it jumping back to "Jobs Stopped" I downloaded the driver package from HP thinking maybe it had been updated since the CD that came with the printer was pressed but no luck.
There is another post around here in which the poster said if s/he clicks Print Preview and then clicks the Print icon there the document will print. I'll try that tomorrow. The other post has some quotes from HP support that are not very helpful.

  • Drop down fields on Adobe reader for iPad

    Hello,
Regarding using an order form in adobe reader for iPad, I am able to check boxes, free form text, etc. but drop down fields are not retaining selection.  I will click drop down, make selection, and field is still blank. If I select the same drop down my choice is checked. When I email form the field remains blank.
    Any help would be appreciated!!

    Hello,
Thank you for the response.  I am currently using Adobe 11.01.  I believe I have found the problem.  Our company utilizes an app names "Showpad" for our sales teams.  Within Showpad you can open PDF's, however any interactive functionality is not available.  To solve for this, you can open a PDF within Showpad and then "open with" a different app.  In this case, I opened with Adobe Reader.  It looks like all the functionality returns to the document minus that drop down issue I am experiencing.
I tried to open the same order form from my email using Adobe Reader and all functionality is available (including drop down).
It looks as though something is getting lost between the Showpad app and Adobe Reader app.

  • Win XP Media Center Ed. & Adobe Reader 9.4/9.4.1 Updts Lock Up & Reader X 10.0.1 Install Question

What is the deal with Win XP Media Center Edition and Updates to Adobe Reader?  I have been unable to install Adobe Reader Updates 9.4 & 9.4.1 to Win XP Media Center Edition (32 bit - SP3) since last October!!!  The update starts to install and then locks up when it starts trying to Remove Shortcuts!  I have had to kill the update and then Adobe Reader does not function after that.  I have had to go back and run a System Restore for a date & time prior to the attempted update install, to get Adobe Reader working again.
I was going to try uninstalling Adobe Reader 9.3.4 and installing the latest Adobe Reader version X (10.0.1) - until I read the System Requirements. Only Win XP Home, Professional & Tablet PC Edition with Service Pack 3 (32 bit) are mentioned as valid operating systems.  Does this mean that version X (10.0.1) can't be installed on Windows XP Media Center Edition (32 bit) with SP3 installed???
Any help/info that you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

You're correct. Clean uninstall i referred to meant clean up every single trace of Adobe Reader in your program files, in your registry, in your application data folder, etc. CClearner is a good one. Apart from using it for cleaning up web and windows temp files, did you try to use their Registry fix feature?
What I am trying to say is that you should:
    -Uninstall Adobe
-Clear up any trace left by the program
    -Clear up Temp folder
    -Run Registry fix
    -Restart the computer
    -Reinstall the Adobe
That's all i can say. I am not saying that this will work for sure. It is just one of many resolution for you. Good luck!

  • How to simplify/speed up Adobe reader

Ever since updating Adobe reader is less functional, takes too long to attach a document or crashes
It's easier to save the document open my email program and select insert and browse to it......
Opening a PDF and printing it take forever now.
Why, why did Adobe have to do this to me??  Does anyone know a workaround this ??

    Details, please!

  • Adobe reader will not start

I have a Windows 7 Laptop, 64 bits. Suddenly adobe reader will not function; it starts, a black field appears, and it vanishes.
Everything tried: erase program, reinstall, PC back to factory installation. Nothing helps. Any other suggestions?

The End User License Agreement "sticks" in Windows 7 frequently.
    Go to: C:/Programs (x86)/Adobe/Reader 11/Reader
Look for the file named eula.exe (or just eula)
Double click it. Accept the agreement.
    Launch Reader.

  • Does Adobe Reader have the plug-in to display the word definition when moving mouse over the word?

    Hi,
I would like to know if Adobe Reader has such plug-in that displays the word definition when the user moves the mouse over the word.
Basically I think it needs to
detect what word is presented under the cursor
look up the word in the dictionary or source file e.g.xml
pop up the definition of the word, which can be a translation or definition
It would be great if user can actually customize this dictionary file/source file.
Do you think there is such plug-in?
Many thanks for your help/advice here.
    Cheers
    SX

    Hi,
When I use Adobe Reader “look up” function, it takes me to dictionary.com. I am wondering if Adobe Reader allows me to customize this look up function, so I can use another website or my offline dictionary, instead of going to dictionary.com.
    Many thanks for your help/advice.

  • How can I change the color and size of the freehand tool in Adobe Reader on the IPAD?

How can I change the size and color of the freehand tool in Adobe Reader for IPAD?

One more step I didn't mention. After making your freehand drawing, you need to click Save (upper right) to let Reader know you're finished drawing. Then click on it, and the contextual menu will look like this:

It may depend on the plugin that is loaded into your browser. However, right click on a PDF and select the Open With option and go to the default button to select Acrobat as the default. That might do it.

  • Unable to print drawing properly in Acrobat - however with Adobe Reader no problem !!!

Got a pdf (converted ACAD drawing) of which certain sections appear hardly readable on screen (grey, distorted ??)
Tried all print options (colour, B&W, save PDF again, check rersolutions, contacted supplier of printer etc.) I could think of but no improvements
By mistake I printed the file direct from explorer view and amazingly enough TEXT OKAY !
Printed original file to CutePDF_writer and - once again - section could be read without any problem
Thought I give the free Adobe Reader a try and once again: no problem at all
Adobe Acrobat is fully updated - beside a Java flattening scripts I have not had anything modified.
Strang situation: only with the professional tool I am using very often I am unable to print as required.
Looks to me the file to be printed has some fonts not recognized / supported / missing in my Acrobat software?
When yes how can I check & resolve ?
Actually puts me in a delicate position now - help urgently needed !
Assume I have to add fonts ? But got no warning anything missing...
And: should a professional software tool not at least match options / features of a free version ?
    Added comment:
    It's even getting more weird
Printing on an other printer (Minolta instead of Canon) NO PROBLEM AT ALL
    Thanks for help in advance
