  • Error message at end of Adobe Reader installation, preventing the install (on Windows 7)

Error message: "windows intller does not permit updating of managed advertised products. At least one feature of the product must be installed before applying the update" when I try to download Adobe Reader on Windows 7, pls help

    Thanks a lot Ajlan,
I tried installing the .exe file and it says it is not a valid Win32 program.
I can't even open the .msi file.
I used to have Reader on my computer and it worked, but for some reason now it doesn't. It doesn't show up on my Programs list and so cannot uninstall if I don't have obviously; I do have a recent version of Flashplayer that I was prompted to upgrade to.
Also, .pdf files have the right logo in the folders and desktop, and I can save files as .pdf in dropbox from this computer and open them on another computer using dropbox and they work. This might seem obvious to you but I'm a beginner so it's just in case, FYI.
Thanks for anymore help you can give me!
    Oliver

  • Adobe Reader installation error: "object doesn't support property or method 'text'"

I'm trying to install Adobe Reader and I have the following error after launching the installer:
"object doesn't support property or method 'text'"
My OS is Win7 Ultimate 64b (using AVG antivirus), but I encounter the same error on other systems too:
    Win7 Ultimate 32b (AVG Antivirus)
    Win7 Enterprise 64b (McAfee Antivirus)
No matter which button I click, the installer hangs:
I googled this error, but couldn't find any solution.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

This error mostly occurs if your language is not set to English (on the Adobe.com website).  This has been reported to Adobe a million times, but they don't seem to have any intererest in fixing it.

  • How do I fix an Adobe Reader installation error?

    This is what it says:
Installer: Package name is Adobe Reader XI (11.0.10) installer: Installing at base path / installer: The install failed (the Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.)
I unblocked cookies and pop-ups and allowed JavaScript. I have a Mac OSX 10.9.5 and tried the installation on both Safari and Chrome. Can anyone help? I need this installed ASAP!!

Try if the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ works better.

  • Mac: Adobe Reader Installation error

I get the following error when trying to install Adobe Reader on my Mac (running OS X 10.8.4):
dyld: DYLD_environment variables being ignored because main executable
(/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Install.framework/Resources/runner) is setuid or setgid installer:
Package name is Adobe Reader XI (11.0.03) Installer: Installing at base path / installer: The install failed (The
Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for
    assistance.)
Evidently the install process is running afoul of some security issue but I don't know how to work around the problem.
    Would appreciate any pointers. Thanks.

I repaired disk permissions using Disk Utility. After that Acrobat Reader installed just fine.
That was what I was going to suggest.
"setuid or setgid installer" errors are ALWAYS permissions related.

  • Adobe reader installation error on Mac

I can download Adobe reader but when I run the installer, it is not installed.
I get this message:  "Installer package Adobe Reader XI (11.0.06) installer failed (The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail.  Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.)"
I have down loaded from several sites with different browsers and always end up with the same result.  I just updated to Mavericks and my old Reader will not work.  I can't discover how to contact the "software manufacturer" which I guess would be Adobe.  What do I do now?

    Hi,
Trying to update my installation of Adobe Reader on Windows XP to
    Adobe Reader X (10.1.4)
However, keep getting the following message ...
"Error 1328:  Error applying patch to file C:\Config.msi\PT76.tmp.  It has probably been updated by another means and can no longer be modified by this patch.  For more information contact your patch vendor."
Can anyone please tell me how to get around this, or what may have caused it?
Who, or what, is my "patch vendor" ?

  • Having trouble getting adobe reader to load...any help??

I can not get adobe reader to load   any help out there?/

Is the Artist information being completed correctly in iTunes or is it blank?
If it is blank then you need to add the Artist information before you transfer it to the iPod.
In iTunes Select the Album and the go to the File Menu and select the Get Info option, enter the Artist name and click OK.

  • I cannot print a PDF.  Tried HELP and "Repair Adobe Reader Installation" and that didn't help???

I am not sure what else to do at this point.  I have printed many PDF documents before and all of a sudden the ability to print them stopped.  And when I go to print a PDF it asks me to save the document - and won't save it as a PDF?  Also - I am trying to print old PDFs that I know I have printed in the past and it won't print those either.  Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated.  Pulling my hair out here. =)

That sounds like you have 'Print to File' set (Advanced button on Print panel).
