Adobe Reader Installation timeout at 41%
Hi,
I have tried repeatedly to install Adobe reader 10.1. I have Windows 7 64 bit OS. I use Internet Explorer 8 or Mozilla Firefox. I have enabled scripting in the security section as well as the intranet section of my tools>advanced settings. I have also changed the security settings to medium or medium low. I have disabled my AVG Security and do not have Windows Security enabled at all. I also downloaded from the "direct" download site.
Here are 6 screenshots of the steps I took and the results. If someone could tell me the solution to this, it would be greatly appreciated.
You have not completely disabled AVG, it is there on your screen. I have found that AVG is more trouble than it is worth. However, I doubt that is the issue. Try downloading from the Adobe ftp site. The problem is that your download timed out. You never got to the install stage.
ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.1/en_US/AdbeRdr1011_en_US.exe
Download the file, then try installing with AVG not running at all.

Why does my Adobe Reader installation time out?
Why does my Adobe Reader installation time out at 64 percent on Windows XP?
I am currently running version 9.5.2.
Does anyone have a solution please.Hi,
This "timeout at 64%" issue has been reported more than a few times here.
You can try direct download from
http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
If you can dedicate some time and help to investigate the issue, here is what I would ask:
Before trying the link I have provided, can you please enable verbose MSI logging and try to install Reader the way you did originally - I assume that you used Adobe.com, right?
If it fails again at 64%, please find the latest MSIxxxxx.log file in the Temp folder and send it to me.
To enable Windows Installer logging
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/223300
...open the registry with Regedit.exe and create the following path and keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
Reg_SZ: Logging
Value: voicewarmupx
The Temp folder on Windows XP is
C:\Documents and Settings\[YourUserName]\Local Settings\Temp -
Adobe Reader Installer does not work
I am trying to install Adobe reader on Windows 8. I downloaded Adobe Reader the Clicked the downloaded file and gave the permission. Then the Adobe Reader Installer window will show up but it's empty and has nothing on it. When I close it won't close either. I have to use windows task manger to close it. I tried to download it with another browser but still getting the same problem. I made sure that flash plug-in is working too. I used the direct link. Still can not install it.
Use the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

Adobe Reader Installation repeats
I am trying to print an easyjet boarding pass.
When I click on 'check in all passengers' I get an Adobe page telling me to install Adobe Reader which I do.
Then I repeat the process and Adobe Reader installation Step 1 appears again.
If I install Adobe Reader once again it tells me that it is already installed.
So I am going round in circles and am unable to print my boarding pass.
I had the same problem when I tried in the UK in July. After 2 days it fortunately cleared.
Can you help me please?
Many thanksMy apologies, I explained very badly.
I get to the easy jet booking page for checking in
Now if I click on Check in all passengers up comes the Adobe Reader “Install Now” page.
(If I click on “go here” I also get the Adobe Reader installation page again).
If I try to install A.R. again, it tells me that it is already installed.
And the I have to start with easyjet Check in all passengers all over again and the same performance is repeated!
I cannot get the pass out at all.
Printing - if I ever get something to print - will be no problem but I cannot get to that stage.
Thanks again for all your trouble.

So you can get the pass to open then but now it's just printing that causes this?
Can you save the pdf to your desktop (or somewhere you can find it) and open it within Reader itself rather than from within the browsers plug-in? If so, can you now print?

Is it the Download assistant that is freezing or is it the web browser that freezes?

How do I stop the Adobe Reader Installer from crashing?
I downloaded install_reader10_en_air_mssa_aih.exe and this popup appears:
Microsoft Visual Studio Debugger
An exception occurred. Process will be terminated. (Exception address is 00413E6C).
If I leave it open for a while, it eventually says:
Just-In-Time Debugging
An exception 'Runtime Error' has occurred in Script.
However, no debuggers are registered that can debug this exception. Unable to JIT debug.
When I tried opening a second copy, I did not get this popup, but instead received a different message:

I have tried EVERY suggestion Adobe has made and no matter what, I get the black "Adobe Reader Installer" screen EVERY TIME!! Any suggestions to help me overcome this problem would be appreciated. BTW: I have a Windows 7 Home OS. I prefer FireFox. I have successfully downloaded Adobe Reader using all the major browsers, however it does NOT matter, I am NOT able to actually install Adobe Reader, every time all I get is the black pop-up "Adobe Reader Installer" screen!!!
PS.... I had a previous version on my computer that needed to be updated.... so I uninstalled it because I was having trouble installing the new version.... so even that did not help!!

Adobe Reader Installer Grayed Out
Hi there,
I've been working on trying to install Adobe Reader XI for the past 3-4 hours to no avail. No matter how many times I reinstall Flash to the latest version, restart my computer, or try installing in a different browser, I inevitably get this screen while trying to use the installer helper (With "Adobe Reader Installer" as the window title instead of "Adobe Flash Player Installer"):
Imgur
It's been an incredibly frustrating 3-4 hours, and I really don't know what else to do. I don't understand why this basic plugin is so hard to install. Currently, I'm running Windows 7 Home edition. Any ideas? This same problem is posted several times a day, and the answer is always the same: use the offline installers:
Adobe Reader
Flash Player for Internet Exporer - ActiveX
Flash Player for Firefox - NPAPI -
