Rolled out an Adobe Flash player update on 100 PCs and 5 of them are now reporting this message:
Interactive Services Detection - a program on this computer is trying to display a message.
Product:Adobe Flash Player 16 ActiveX - - Error 1704. An installation for adobe flash player 16 NPAPI is currently suspended. You mush undo the changes made by that installation to continue. Do you wan to undo those changes?
This message is constantly popping up on 5 machine. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey efesefeldt1,
Error 1704 is a Windows error associated with suspended or interrupted installations.
Please navigate to the link mentioned below and try out the same solutions for suspended Flash Player installation as given for Acrobat:

Hope this helps.

  • Adobe Reader X - Service Broker issue

    Hi,
    I have created my service broker to run my plugin for Adobe Reader X but just when I click on of the button of my toolbar, it says 'Class not registered' error and then I have to kill the instance of Adobe Reader X. Please provide any pointer or help to resolve this error. Also, I have the latest SDK (for X version), is there any sample available to create service broker? Kindly provide some reference as we are not able to proceed further anymore.
    We have already checked the web pages to get to know that we need to create 'Service Broker' but nowhere we found any sample for this.

    Irosenth,
    Can you please let us know if there is any sample in the SDK files that we can use?

  • Adobe Reader Plug-in - Detect Events in Javascript?

    Hello,
    Does the plug-in provide events that Javascript can handle?     I have code that will trigger the printing to starting showing the print dialog via javascript.   I want to know when the user got rid of the dialogbox by either printing or canceling.   I don't necessarily need to know which button they pressed but that would be ok too.    If it's possible, can you give me a sample code of how I can do that?
    I am using IE as the browser.
    Thank you for time...
    Nathan

    The default zoom for the plugin should be the same as for the standalone Reader.  Is it not?

  • Adobe Reader copatiblility problems

    Adobe Reader 7 was not compatible with Windows 7 and I now have downloaded Adobe Reader 11.0.09 and it also is not compatible with Windows 7. It won't allow
    me to use my Illumina Program with animations.

    Adobe Reader 11.0.09 is fully compatible with Windows 7.  However, I have no idea what "Illumina Program" is, or how Adobe Reader interacts with that.  But since you mention animations, maybe you need the Flash Player plugin?

  • Adobe Reader version 10.1.6 Printer Issue

    I have the latest version of Adobe Reader (10.1.6) installed on Windows Vista Home Premium. When I select print I get a message "You must have a printer installed before printing".  Adobe reader is not detecting an installed network printer.  I have had this problem on all versions later than version 7.  My version 7 on a Windows XP works fine.  Solutions anyone?  All of my Microsoft Office programs recognize the network printer.

    You can try to delete and then re-install the printer.

  • Difference in Adobe reader behaviour while invoked using URL

    Hi,
    We need ability to open Adobe Reader (we use verson 9.4) from  web application and open Print Dialog immediately.
    The HTML page code is
    <html>
    <body onload="document.pdfViewer.PrintWithDialog();">
    <object id="pdfViewer" data="PDF_DIR/mydoc.pdf" type="application/pdf" width="100%" height="100%"></object>
    </script>
    </body>
    </html>
    The problem - when pdf document is multipage it is sitll reported as single page (in print range panel and preview panel)
    when Print Dialog is opened.
    If "All" option is chosen in Print Range, the number of pages reset ad right value appears.
    Please suggest if it could be somehow chanhed and user experience can be improved.
    Thanks,

    Moved to the Adobe Reader forum. They will be able to help you here.
    The cloud service provided by the Adobe Reader is a different file storage than the file storage provided by the Creative Cloud. I am not familiar with this Adobe Reader cloud service but it might be part of https://www.acrobat.com as opposed to https://creative.adobe.com/files.

  • When will Adobe Reader support interactive PDF elements on iOS?

    When will Adobe Reader support interactive PDF elements on iOS? I don't want to hear the line that Apple won't allow Flash. Adobe needs to get a workaround PRONTO! We need detection of simple buttons and support for Mp4 and f4v - as exported inline by inDesign when creating PDFs.

    Pat Willener, Thank you for your message. I have done what you suggest. I could have sworn I started this topic in the general Adobe Reader discussion. So I have also placed a copy back where I thought I first had it so it can be found by other Windows users who, like me, are creating PDF files because they are meant to comply with an international cross-platform standard and not simply be the domain of one platform over the other.
    *******Enhancement / FMR*********
    Brief title for your desired feature: Support for interactive PDFs
    How would you like the feature to work? When I add a transparent frame containing a  basic Adobe Media encoded mp4 or f4v video, export to interactive PDF from Adobe InDesign, I want the PDF and its interactive videos to work on iPads. See an example file here: ***EXAMPLE PROVIDED***  Click the lefthand top and bottom corners to bring up interactive video elements which should open in floating window, maximized, then have an exit button to close and continue reading the PDF. Of course, this does not function under Adobe Reader for iOS. You also need to attend to audio files embedded in the same way and allow an exit button to close the audio window so the reader can continue reading the PDF on Windows.
    Why is this feature important to you? I create eReaders for schools across the whole country and they are taking up iPads at an unprecedented rate. If Adobe do not produce a solution for interactive PDFs on iOS then I will no longer use InDesign, Acrobat, Adobe Media Encoder or Photoshop to create works in the future. You're looking at a massive education market that will leave Adobe behind if this is not acted upon very very soon. For some publishers it's already too late and they have moved to app based creation tools.

  • SiteCatalyst - Adobe Reader Version Detection?

    In SiteCatalyst version 15, can I detect the version of Adobe Reader a user may be using, much in the way I can detect OS or Browser?

    Thanks for the reply. I had that option checked when the problem occurred. The problem only occurs on the Apple Customer Service website. I can view PDF files with the Reader v.8.0 on other sites.
    I downloaded the PDF Browser and deselected the Reader option you suggested. PDF Browser works fine and I think I will stick with that program.

  • Can I obtain a CD-ROM with the latest revision of Adobe Reader for a Windows XP system w/ Service Pack 3. I do not want to go online with this system. I have dedicated it to read all of my PDF Files only.

    I have 4 computer systems, 2 of which run under Windows XP w/ Service Pack 3. I have dedicated these systems to the task of reading all of my PDF Files which I have collected from my recent college career. The desktop system I want to use is an old Dell Optiplex GX240 with Acrobat Reader 4.0. The other Windows XP system I have is an old HP Laptop with Adobe Reader 8.1.4 installed. I want to update both systems to the latest version that is available for Windows XP w/Service Pack 3 installed. So, because I do not want to place these system online, would it be possible for me to obtain a copy of the Adobe Reader software I need on a CD-ROM? - Ken DeWitt, a 68-Year-Young Vietnam Veteran and recent college graduate...Summa Cum Laude.

  • How can I call a web service via Adobe Reader XI?

    Hi all,
    I have created a document using LiveCycle (Trial) to get something from my custom web service, using Adobe Pro to open the file and its success to call the web service when clicking the call button, however, when I try to do the same thing using Adobe Reader XI, seems not work. Please help!
    Best Regards,
    Black Leong

    The only way it can work with Reader is if the document is Reader-enabled with LiveCycle Reader Extensions or the similar product from Datalogics. Acrobat is not able to add the corresponding usage right.

    This thread is pretty old, are you still having this issue?

  • Windows Service no longer able to print PDF files using Adobe Reader 11.0.07.79

    We have a Windows Service that watches a folder for PDF files to be deposited.  Once awakened, it executes the Adobe Reader in command line mode to print the PDF files to secure check printers. The Windows Service was working fine with 11.0.06.70 but no longer works with 11.0.07.79.
    There are no event viewer errors or errors returned to our Process.Start() call.  The Windows Service is running under the identify of an administrator account and has explicit full access to the printer.  We have also tried the local computer's Administrator account as well as the default Local Service, but none work.
    Using ProcMon to examine the failure, it showed Adobe Reader making many successful registry and file accesses.  Adobe Reader then creates a new process, another instance of itself to read in the PDF file and print to the printer.  However, ProcMon only shows Adobe Reader accessing AcroRd32.exe, syswow.dll (sp) and ntdll.dll and then the thread and process immediately exits with an exit code of 0 (no file or registry accesses).  So, something is causing the instantiated process to fail immediately.
    After more research and trying many things, we disabled "Enable Protected Mode at Startup".  This enabled things to work again.
    We are concerned that disabling this feature might expose security concerns for our customers.
    We are suspecting that some security concerns were tightened with 11.0.07.79 that has inadvertently caused printing from Windows Services to falsely be identified as security violations.  Can you please investigate and provide a resolution?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    Can you please give the following details:
    1) Command (given in command line)used to print PDF files?
    2) Is the issue reproducible with other printers as well?
    3) Is directly printing the PDF from that folder using command line i.e without using windows service works fine or not?
    Thanks,
