Adobe reader issue on Win 8.1

I keep having an issue with Adobe Reader in which I open a PDF document and I can't view the document, but the image shows on my previous opened PDF document.  Anyone know how to fix this issue?  Also, what's the latest or best Adobe Reader and link please?

I don't know why you can't view the document or why the previously opened document shows, but here's the link to the latest Adobe Reader:http://get.adobe.com/reader/
Also try:
The Microsoft Excel file repair utility restores data from a corrupted workbooks and worksheets. And software exports information to Microsoft Excel director file later. Excel Repair Toolbox can save a recovered data into new XLSX files.

    Hi Ahmet,
Are you facing the issue with all the pdfs or any specific pdf?
Was it working fine for you before?
Try repairing Reader from the 'hlep' menu and check if that works.

adobe reader issues windows 8 Error 1935.An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {B708EB72-AA82-3EB7-8BB0-D845BA35C93D}. HRESULT: 0x80070422.
I have tried many things to try to install it and I have been unsucessful. Please help I have windows 8 64bit.

This did not resolve my issue, it actually made things worse. I did what
you had told me to do below, and it did not work. Tried to access the
internet to respond back to you and my computer was not able to reach the
internet. Tried reaching adobe support and not was able to, even tried
calling was on the phone for 20 minutes and no one answered. I was not able
to re install windows. Contacted Asus from another computer and they were
not able to help me reinstall windows They had asked me to ship my computer
back to them, due to them not being able to resolve the issue and help me
reinstall windows. I luckily had a backup on my external hard drive and was
able to reinstall windows 8. Spent over an hour and half trying to fix
that. Here I am still not able to install adobe reader. I was very unhappy
with what I was told to do and it gave me this issue.
    ·  Open an Administrator command prompt: Right-click Start > All Programs >
Accessories > Command Prompt and select Run As Administrator. Click Allow
    for the elevation prompt
    ·  In the command prompt, type the command below:
    fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\
The line above assumes that C: is the drive in which Vista is installed. If
it is installed on another drive like D:, change the drive letter
    appropriately.
    ·  Restart the system.
    ·  Install Acrobat or Adobe Reader again.

  • As a Realtor I can't access documents on our ARMLS web site, the tech support say it is an adobe reader issue?

For some reason, suddenly I can't access the documents tab on our ARMLS web site. I called Tech support for the Flex web site and they say they can open the tab and read the docs fine.
They are saying it is an Adobe issue on my computer. I un installed adobe and reloaded but the same result.
    Any ideas
    Thanks
    Craig

Yes, I just changed my browser to Internet Explorer and same result, I
still can not read any PDF documents loaded to this site.
I have not tried un installing adobe but that is next, then reinstalling
    while in Explorer.

  • How to unlock and remove comments in Adobe Reader X for WIN 7?

A while ago I left a comment in an adobe file and now I want to change it or remove it. The problem is that I can't do anything to the comment, because it is locked and it seems that I don't have the permission to do that. I run Win 7, 64bit.
When I select properties on the comment by right clicking on it in the Comment List on the right in the Properies window the Locked checkbox is empty, gray and unselectable. The fact that the Locked checkbox is empty should mean that the comment is not locked but there is an icon next to it that pictures a small lock. I am confused. Is it locked? Is it not? Is there anything I can do to remove or change this comment?
Next to the Locked checkbox is a Make Properties Default checkbox which is selectable but I believe unrelated to what I want to do. What do I do?

I do not know what causes this; I do not have any such problem on a very similar system.  But if I did have such a problem, I would
make sure the latest Adobe Reader version is installed
make sure all Windows updates are installed
check if there is a newer printer driver version available
see if temporarily disable AV would prevent the problem
    Sorry, no other ideas.

  • Adobe  reader issues

I have been getting a message when I try to open a page or report  that says There is an issue with adobe reader/acrobat. If running please exit out  and retry.  Problem is I am not running it.  What do I do?

If you want to save the form with data using the Free Reader then you must apply Reader Extensions with either full Acrobat or with the LiveCycle ES Reader Extensions server product.

  • FormsCentral and Adobe Reader issues

Since purchasing FormsCentral (which I think was a mistake), I have not been able to open any pdf documents.  I get an error message that says that Reader cannot open the file because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and the file was not correctly decoded).  What does this mean?  I had recently trialed a pro version of Adobe and had difficulty removing it from my computer, does that have anything to do with it?  When I open my programs, this is what I see from Adobe:  Adobe Reader XI and Adobe Download Assistant.
The other issue is that I think I purchased the wrong program.  I do not need forms that are useable on the web, I need to be able to be able to make changes to pdf's that already exist.  Is there some way that I can exchange this program for one that is recommended for what I need?
thanks very much for any assistance that you can offer.

Your problem with Reader and PDF on your system are not related to FormsCentral purchase.
You might have isues with PDF documents since you tried to uninstalled Acrobat from your system.
You might want to post on the Acrobat forum to get more support : http://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat

  • ADOBE Reader issues with Macbook Pro

Was trying to view a pay document from my HR site and it said Iwas missing Adobe Reader plug in. I have it downloaded - twice and still no luck. The Adobe reader is in my applications, but the website can not seem to use it.

The web site cannot use the Adobe Reader application directly.  You need to download the pdf and then you can view it with the Adobe Reader application.  If that website doesn't allow the pdf to be downloaded and indeed requires a pdf reader plugin, off hand I don't think Adobe makes a mac browser pdf reader plugin.  I could be wrong but I'm not aware of such a plugin.
On the other there does exist a pdf browser plugin.  It's called, appropriately enough, "PDF Browser Plugin".  You can find it here.   Whether it works or not at that web site you are using is another question that probably can only be answered by trying it.  The web site could be specifically checking for some Adobe plugin, in which case, this substitute will not work.
Are you sure you can't just download the file to use Adobe Reader, or for that matter, Apple's Preview app?

  • Adobe Reader Issue

I use Windows 7 and when I try to open a file on my desktop that I have copied from the internet and pasted to my desktop I get this message:
Adobe Reader cannot open (file jpg) because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example it was sent as an email attachment and was not correctly decoded)
I CAN open it in Adobe Photoshop however.
    Help please!

If a JPEG file automatically tries to open in Adobe Reader, you will need to change its file association to open in an imaging program like Photoshop.

  • Cable modem issue/adobe reader issue

    1. I have a PB G3 (bronze keyboard) and cannot connect to the internet using a comcast cable modem. BUT if I route the modem thru a wireless router and then plug my ethernet into that I have no problems what-so-ever. The big question is WHY? I would like to ditch the wireless router, if possible.
    2. I cannot download Adober Reader 5.0 to my computer. I am running OS 9.2.2 it says it has downloaded and then when I go to install it gets part way through and then stops, doesn't say anything but doesn't continue downloading....

    Megan,
    Welcome to the Discussions!
If the file has downloaded successfully to your desktop or wherever you have designated your download folder, you should see a file named 'rdrweb.sit'. Double-click on it to decompress and you should see an icon named Acrobat Reader Installer. Now quit all applications, restart while pressing the shift key and release when you see 'extensions off' under the Mac logo. Find the Acrobat Installer and double-click on it to install. You may have an extension conflict preventing the installation...just restart when done.
If you still have a problem, find all versions, if any, of Acrobat Reader already installed, drag them to the trash, then try the install again.
If still having problems, run Disk First Aid and also rebuild your desktop file:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=10182
Regarding the cable modem - what are your settings for:
AppleTalk (should be set to Ethernet)
TCP/IP (should be set to Ethernet and Using DHCP Server)
The above settings are what some DSL and cable modem companies use. Give it a try; if unsuccessful, call Comcast.

  • Adobe reader issue: no text!

    Hi,
I cannot see the text in a pdf document. I can only see frames, pictures, etc but no text at all. I tried uninstalling & re-installing Adobe reader, but it was not possible since the installation partition (directory) no longer exists, so even that action was not possible.
    Pls advise. Thanks

Uninstall Reader using the cleaner tool http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
then download and reinstall Reader from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • Adobe reader issue even after latest update

I have installed the recent adobe reader on my windows 7 (g 72- C55DX notebook PC) multiple times but it will not open files. A message comes up: "please update your adobe reader". based on the online support i have fixed my settings and enabled javascript as well but still no improvement I am not able to open files. Please let me know what I should do to resolve this matter.Thank You!

Chrome and Firefox use their own PDF viewer, not the Adobe Reader plugin.
That leaves Internet Explorer; what is the exact message you get in IE - can you post a screenshot?

  • Adobe Reader X Installation Win 7

    Hello All,
I am trying to install Adobe Reader X on my computer which is running Windows 7 Pro 64bit, however I am getting an error.
PS, the setup/installation file I am trying to download is "install_reader10_en_aih.exe" from Adobe's website. The file is 766KB, but under http://get.adobe.com/reader/ it says 51.95MB beside it.
Needless to say the error I am receiving is:
At which the setup/installation file gets automatically deleted from my computer.
    Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Download and run the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • Adobe Reader stop constantly Win 7 x64

    I have Windows 7 x64 bits with SP1.
I download the current and previous Adobe Reader X (version 10.1.12).
I cannot operate this program at all. Everytime I open a pdf document, within 10 seconds, the screen froze and dialog panel say this program stopped executing. I have to exit.
In fact, when I google "Windows 7 Adobe Reader stopped working" or "Windows 7 Adobe Reader X stopped working" there are hundreds of entries.
But no solution. Is this Adobe Reader software such unreliable pieces of software?
So, how do I view the pdf documents?

you might have a bad Reader install
    my plugins page:

you're missing plugins (by a large margin )
    chk your c:\program files (x86)\Adobe\. .. \plugins
    whats in there
do a disk repair // too make sure your disk isnt corrupted
from explorer | C: | properties | Tools | Error-checking | Check now | (do NOT chk 'recover bas sectors'!) | because its C:, you will be prompted to 'schedule Chkdsk 'at next boot' | yes you do
    reboot
boot | have your disk chk for bad sectors at next boot
(the better way is to reboot in System Recovery | Command Prompt | do a CHKDK /F there, but you have to know to get there)
(above wont repair Reader (but chk plugins, who knows), so, then:)
go Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features
    chk Adobe Reader X
    choose "Change"
    do:
"Repair installation errors in the program. This option fixes missing or corrupt files shortcuts registry etc .."
chk again: ReaderX | plugins there now?
    if not
    uninstall / reinstall
    again chk presence of plugins
