Adobe Reader Not responding on Mac

I recently downloaded the Adobe Reader and the Adobe Digital Editions thing for school....everytime I try to use them they freeze up and do not respond...any suggestions for getting them to work?

Click the little apple on the top left of your screen and choose "about this Mac". It will tell you the version of OS X you are using and whether you have a PowerPC or an Intel.

I have been having problems with the adobe reader XI. It will go to the download screen and then open the document. But when I try to print it it tells me not responding and then closes. really getting exasparted. This has been going on for two weeks. I have called my companies and they were looking into it but no luck. So I did what the site said and uninstalled it. then I reinstalled it as directed. Still won't work.

Try disabling Protected Mode in Adobe Reader [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

i downloaded adobe reader but it is not opening any PDF files, also, whenever i double-click on the i-con,it does not even open. Can you tell me whats the problem ?

Go to C/Program Files/Adobe/Reader 11/Reader
Look for the file named eula.exe (or just eula)
Double click it
Accept the License agreement
Launch Reader again

I have to go into the settings and resart the spooler... but it will never print the file... keeps disabling. I can print any other file.... Word, Excel etc. Just not the PDF. Adobe Reader 'not responding' after bringing up document

It works for about 10 seconds and then goes opaque. Nothing happens after that. It is a new laptop, using Windows 8. I tried the repair through the control panel but got an error message 'wsearch' will not stop running. The only thing I have done to this laptop is uninstall Norton and install AVG 2013. The adobe did not work before I messed with the antivirus programs. I need simple instructions!!! Any help would be appreciated!

How do you encrypt a PDF with Adobe reader, not Adobe Acrobat?

I would like to encrypt PDFs using Adobe Reader. However, all instructions for encrypting a PDF require me to use Adobe ACROBAT, not Adobe READER. How do I encrypt a PDF using Adobe Reader?
Extra Note: I use Adobe READER version XI and Mac OS X 10.9.

Adobe Reader does exactly what its name says: it reads PDF files, nothing more.

Problem opening Form based PDF via Safari browser with Adobe Reader 9.3 on MAC

I'm mentioning below the problem that we are facing when we open a form based PDF created using a licensed version of Adobe Livecycle Designer ES (Version 8.2.1.4029.1.523496) on a MAC machine through a Safari Browser.
We tested this PDF form on a windows machine and the PDF opens in an IE browser via the latest Adobe reader 9.3 without any problem. I then received complaints by our clients that they were unable to open the same PDF on their Safari browser on a MAC machine, I tried to resolve the problem by downloading the latest version of Adobe Reader 9.3 for MAC but noticed that the Safari browser window would just keep refreshing the page without displaying the PDF at all. I then uninstalled the Adobe Reader 9.3 version and downloaded and installed an older version i.e., Abobe Reader 8.2 version for MAC and noticed that the PDF document successfully opened in the Safari browser. My question is why does a form based PDF work with an older version of Adobe Reader for MAC and not with the latest version? Our clients are not comfortable with the fact that we are refraining them from upgrading to the latest version of Adobe Reader for MAC and that they would have to downgrade their existing Adobe Reader 9.3 to a lower version Adobe Reader 8.2 in order for the PDF forms to work when it should be the other way around.
Is there any fix or a patch that is currently being worked on that would resolve this issue in the latest Adobe Reader for MAC? If yes then when would it be ready? This issue is quite critical for our business and would appreciate it if this would be looked into with high priority.

That suggestion makes sense and likely works, but only if the user is on a machine that will allow them to use Reader. I'm sending this out to a lot of teachers, who are using machines either at school, or are school-issued machines, and they don't have the admin privileges to install software-- even Reader.
so my problem is, if they are stuck on a machine without Reader, and without the possibility of having Reader... it's just not going to work because Preview can't handle these functions.
And, since that is not an acceptable answer with what I'm trying to do... I will find another way to create/submit forms. I think there are some online possibilities I will have to make work.

Same thing is happening to me. Adobe has not responded to anyone about this error. It appears that Abobe XI is not compatible with IE 11. I do not get this error when I use Chrome or Firefox. Only IE 11 does this. I have tried clearing cache and cookies.

I am surprized that a company like Adobe would just ignore our posts and leave us hanging this this.
Error message is FAILED TO GET DISPATCH FROM IBRWSR2. Then when you click on it the next error message says: PHTML IS NULL. You have to click this error message twice and then the PDF finally loads. Happened every time
Does anyone have a solution since Adobe will not respond?
As a last resort I will try uninstalling the Adobe Reader XI and install Adobe Reader 10 instead. It seems to work ok. But when I try to install version 10 the Adobe site tries to install XI. Any ideas?

When I try to install any AIR application on OS X Yosemite (updated last week) I have got error ""Adobe AIR Application Installer" is damaged and can't be opened.".
Uninstall and re-install AIR runtime didn't solve this issue. It works fine with Mac OS X Yosemite beta.

It works fine with latest Adobe AIR Runtime (this week update).

am trying to update adobe reader 9.4.6 to the latest version on my mac book pro. Am able to download the updtae to 10. whatever and proceed with installation. At the step where I am asked to choose the adobe reader file, I select the file and then the process stops and I get a message that installation has failed and i am to contact the software manufacturer.

i had a lot of pictures in adobe photoshop album 2.0 and it started freezin g up, i had to restart my computer every time i scrolled down to a certain spot.i have deleted all of my pictures,i want to know what happened before i decide to put pictures back in adobe photoshop.i don't want to go through this again.it said adobe photoshop not responding and adobe photoshop is trying to close.does anyone know what the problem was,i had 765 pictures in adobe when this happened.

I guess 765 pictures are not the problem because I usually have much more pictures in my catalog. I doubt if some video files are causing problem. If you have video files in your catalog and try upgrading your QuickTime version.

You don't need Adobe AIR to download or install Adobe Reader.
Try downloading the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
