Adobe Reader Opens Blank Screens

I've tried searching the forums w/o success...
When I open a PDF file on-line adobe reader opens a blank or black screen. I have deleted the old reader app and reloader another (reader 7, 8 and tried 9)... checked for updates... ran utilities etc. Nothing seems to work.
I'm running G4 iBook with 10.4.11

The new plist file won't be generated until you launch Adobe Reader first. At this point, I would send the current Adobe Reader application to the Trash and download a new one. Go here; http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html?promoid=BUIGO

Well the app must have worked at one point if you have important data in it. Maybe you should seek help on the Adode Reader for iOS web site.

Have you rebooted the iPad and then tried the app again? Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Adobe reader opens file as blank pages

I have tried importing a PDF document reformatted and exported from Open Office from Mac laptop to iPad ios 7 several ways. Sending by email through Apple mail and Yahoo mail as well as file transfer through iTunes. The 149-page document full of text opens as blank on every page in Adobe Reader. Yet when I share the same file from Adobe Reader to Documents app on iPad and open the file there, the text is complete.
The same happens when I email the PDF file from my mac directly from Preview.
How to open this file with all its text visible in Adobe Reader on iPad with ios 7?

The fix: I went into Properties in the Open Office file and saw there was a custom property "ShareDoc" marked as "no." I changed that to "yes" and re saved the file, exported it to .pdf for may and sent it to Adobe reader on my iPad. File opened.

  • Adobe Reader - Open in SuSE 11 full screen

I was having issues with the reader plugin for Firefox on a linux terminal so I am abandoning the plugin all together.  I am switching to use acroread and open a new Reader window instead of a tab within Firefox.
Can anyone tell me which file controls the Reader to open in full screen window?  I have firefox open to a web page, I click on a pdf, a new window opens ( Adobe Reader window, not a firefox window)  with the PDF.  This window is only about 1/4 size and I want to have it open full screen.  If I resize the window by using the corner handle, every window after that one is full screen.  Problem is, I have to make this change on a large number of remote machines and a file change is the only way I can do it.
I thought it was either ../ Adobe/9.0/Preferences/reader.prefs or ../ Adobe/9.0/Preferences/mozilla/prefs.js but not seeing anything pertinant there to the change.
    Any thoughts?

  • Project will not open. blank screen after load

I have a pretty major issue, I just finished a rough cut of a feature film and I decided to change my hard drive drive letters so they were more organized. Now premiere pro 2014 (up to date version) will not open the project properly.
The file loads then it says looking for media then that goes away and it sits at a blank screen forever.

I coach youth soccer and use a PDF template to save my sessions in.  Today I got this message when trying to open one of my sessions.
Adobe Reader could not open 'NSCAAInteractiveSessionPlan.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
How can I fix this?  I have not done anything I don't normally do.

Everytime I make any change I just click the save button it saves changes in the same form. BUT is is behaving differently on Windows. After filling the form out when I click on save button it opens up "Save as " dialogue box to save a new copy with those changes. I have Adobe reader XI and Adobe Acrobat XI installed on windows. I know I can do that with Acrobat but I want that in reader for users who dont have acrobat.

What are you filling out the form with on the MAC?

  • How to stop Adobe Reader opening pdf's in Safari

I've checked all the forums for this problem and have tried all the solutions, however none work for me.
I've deleted Adobe Reader and used a program call CleanMyMac to get rid of all files, so no plug-in's, nothing left of Adobe Reader. Yet, I cannot open pdf's in Safari as it still wants to use Adobe Reader.
I've right clicked other pdf's in my documents and have checked that they are opening with my default program, which is Evernote. The option to 'change all'  is greyed out.
What else can I do, other than stop using Safari?

Adobe Reader installed?  If so remove Reader.
    Macintosh HD > Library > Internet Plug-ins
    Look for these two files.
    AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
    AdobePDFViewer.plugin
Right click those and select “Move To Trash”.
    Remove CleanMyMac

  • Adobe reader opening all Exe Files.

I believe I accidently set preferences so that all exe files are opened by adobe reader. Once I uninstalled Adobe reader all .exe files went back to normal. However on re installing Adobe reader all exe files have gone back to opening using adobe reader. When Reader was uninstalled I checked the registry for exe files and was told HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe
should have a default value of exefile, which it does and then checked HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command which must have a default value of "%1" %* which it does. I can not change the registry while adobe reader is installed as the program regedit is an exe. Is there an Adobe register which I must change or another method I can use?
    Thanks if you understood that.

    If Vista, check this out:

  • How to make PDF documents that open in Adobe reader open in Preview

How do I make PDF documents that open in Adobe Acrobat open in Preview?

Hold down the control key and select a file of the given type in the Finder. A contextual menu appears. Release the  control key and hold down the option key. From the contextual menu, select the submenu
              Always Open With
and then the application you want to open all files of that type.

  • How to use Adobe Reader, open pdfs with OS X 10.6.7?

I just got a new MacBook Pro. When I try to download Adobe Reacer or open PDFs, I get messages that say this type of Mac doesn't support Adobe Reader. I use PDFs all the time.  How do I get around this?

I am not being allowed to downoad/install Adobe Reader or open PDFs.  When I try to do either one, I get a message that this type of Mac doesn't support Adobe Reader.  I just talked to Apple Care. They told me how to open PDFs with another application andd referred me to Adobe for installation questions.  Thanks.

  • Adobe reader opening pdf within O365 Sharepoint

Here is my issue. We used to have SBS sharepoint and migrated to O365, since then here is the issue.
When we go to our sharepoint site alias.sharepoint.com we cna login and within the browser we can open Adobe files file with reader.
If we go to Library>Open with Explorer this is where issue are. Sometime it will open the pdf and other times it won't.
We have reset IE, reinstalled Adobe reader, etc...
I recently installed Foxit reader and all is fixed and working for time being, BUT my client wants to use Adobe so I was wondering does Adobe FULLY support opening pdf files in the Sharepoint>Explorer view or do i need an update we are on v11 and fully updated with all the publically released updates.

I have an update. I called Adobe to get this confirmed.
If you have Office 365, Sharepoint 2013 running on O365 then I am told Adobe Reader 11 is not compatible when opening a Sharepoint in this way. (Library>Open In Explorer) they didn't say but I assume and hope Adobe Reader 12 would fix.
Here is the workaround, installed FoxIt pdf reader and it will open the files fine for viewing.

  • Adobe Reader LE - full screen view?

    Hello,
I've got an O2 Orbit 2 (HTC Touch Cruise) that came with Adobe Reader LE (v2.00.288531) pre-installed.
I'm beginning to think this version doesn't allow full screen display, which seems a pity when you're trying to maximise the use of 2.8 inches of screen real-estate.
Is there a view option to enable this?
I'm not particularly keen on downloading the full version of Adobe Reader because I don't like the way it always reflows my PDF's on transfer via ActiveSync. I know this can be a good idea sometimes, but not always. If this is the only way to get full scren viewing, then is there a simple way to disable ActiveSync from processing the PDF?
    Thanks for your help.
    Joe

    >> Reader LE <<
My responses are always based on the assumption that the poster is looking for the best solution to their need... imho, Reader LE is far from your needs as well as being unsupported.
To meet your specifically stated needs, as far as I know, your only option is to write your own pocketpc pdf reader application.
    >> The reason I don't want to convert (some) of my PDF files, is that I may wish to email then onwards to people who will be reading them on desktop machines. <<
Readers on desktop machines will see no visible changes in the document as a result of adding tags... if your need is legal, then you can always send them the original copy... if the tagging occurs while syncing, the desktop copy remains unaltered and can be copied to a memory card using a card reader to preserve that state.

  • Why doesn't Adobe Reader open?

When I try to open Adobe Reader it says "An Internal Error Occurred" Then it "quits" and says "Adobe Reader Quit Unexpectedly". If you select "Reopen" it repeats the "Quit" sequence all over again.
I removed all (5, 8, & 9) Adobe Readers from my computer and downloaded a new copy of Adobe Reader v9 and still get the same message.
I have documents to open and need advice on what I should do. I have a MacBook Pro
    Thank you

I'm pretty sure the solution you're looking for is here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/404/kb404082.html
If that isn't correct, then you need to dump all of the Adobe Reader and Acrobat folders from
    HD\Library\Application Support\Adobe
    HD\Library\Preferences
    Home\Library\Preferences
    Also dump:
    com.adobe.acrobat.pdfviewer.plist,
    com.adobe.PDFAdminSettings.plist,
    com.adobe.Reader_x86_9.0.plist,
    com.adobe.Reader.plist, and
    com.adobe.acrobat.90.sh.plist
wherever you find them in the HD\Library\Preferences or User\Library\Preferences folders.
Once you've done that, empty the trash, and install Reader 9.3.1.
