Adobe Reader Reference appears to be scrogged

When I load http://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/adobe_reader_reference.pdf, I get a garbled mess. I must admit, I do enjoy this scrap of its text, "Please make sure to hide or remove this production note layer (or its contents) before you finalize the art." Anyway, here's (a screen snap of) what I get...

The wrong version of the document has been posted. Thank you for reporting this issue.

    Hi JackTatSykes

IN I.E. 11 under manage-Addons Adobe reader only appears under Run Without permission not under currently loaded
Is this expected behavior. I have some sites that will not load adobe documents. The site in question is a School District application that we cannot open seating charts.
This was installed using an MSI. Test sites I go to work fine.

I believe with further investigation that this is normal and when a PDF document is open it then shows in currently loaded.

Download and run the Adobe Cleaner to completely remove Reader.

  • Adobe Reader docs appear washed out and faint with Firefox 6.0.1, but not with Internet Explorer. Running Windows 7

The PDF docs opened in Firefox are very light and the color of print is multicolored shaded. Different parts of display different shades of any color but black. Just loaded newest Adobe Reader, did not help. Previously running Reader 9. Haven't had a problem till Firefox 6. If I fool with the Window Color in 7 I can effect the PDF doc. Lowering saturation level to nothing helps, but doesn't fix problem.

  • Viewing issue with Adobe Reader

    Hi there,
I'm having an issue with Adobe reader, which appears to be not related to platform or version. To cut a long story short. I've created an A4 design in Photoshop. Part of this design includes some boxes, that have been given an outline (border) effect. Also bare in mind that the Photoshop files are being created at 350dpi.
When I put my design into Illustrator/ InDesign and then generate a PDF file. I then go and look at the pdf file and when the zoom is at 100%, the edges of the boxes are not straight, you'll get a slight offset half way along for example. However, when I zoom in to 400% the problem disapears and the lines (edges) look perfectly as they should.
Does anyone know about this issue? I'm worried that when I print from the PDF, this issue will be in the print-out - or will it be OK when I print it seeming as it dissapears at 400% zoom.
Any prompt answers or help would be appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Luke

Can you open Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

  • Dynamic PDF no longer renders in Adobe Reader 11.0.07

We have a number of dynamic XFA (PDF) forms we have sent out to end users. Those end users are in the process of upgrading to Adobe Reader 11.0.07 (Windows, Released 5/13). However upon upgrading, the users when opening the form get a number of modal dialogs with a notice stating "Bad parameter." There can be many dialogs with this same error, one after another. When the errors cease, instead of the actual form being displayed, a boilerplate message notifying the user that they need to upgrade to Adobe Reader 8 appears (see below).
I've tried changing a number of form fields and parameters, but nothing seems to affect the outcome. Does anyone else have this issue?

    Try this out
Go to Edit> Preferences> Security and uncheck "Verify signatures when the document is opened"
got it from another discussion:Re: BAD PARAMETER Error when Deleting Pages in Acrobat

  • How do I manually add Adobe Reader as plugin on my Mac OSX 10.4.11?

When I try to access my bank statement online Firefox tells me I need to install Adobe Reader as a plugin, but I must do it manually. When I download and install Adobe Reader it appears in my application folder, but does not appear as a Firefox plugin. How do I install it as a plugin?

For iCloud, you need a version of iTunes 10, and 10.4.11 only supports up to 9.2.1.  10.4 offers no iCloud access, while 10.5 and 10.6 have limited access.  Only 10.7 and 10.8 are integrated with iCloud.

  • Adobe Reader X and Page Embedded PDFs

We are experiencing an issue across our corporation wherein, post-upgrade to Adobe Reader X, websites opened with Internet Explorer containing an embedded PDF frame now show a blank box instead of the PDF.  Firefox will display these sites correctly and I have verified Firefox is using the updated Reader X plug-in.  This has been tested across many configurations and behaves consistently in this fashion.  Reversion to Adobe Reader 9 appears to solve the problem, however, this is not a true solution.
    Help?

This may help a few of you here.
    I'm running IE 8 and Adobe Reader X on a WIN64Bit  system.
Reader X wouldn't open an embedded  PDF with IE8 64BIT. AR X seems to like an older version of IE.
Go to your START menu and you should see "Internet Explorer" and "Internet Explore (64-bit)".
Open a window with the "Internet Explorer", not the (64-bit).
In the IE8 window you'll see a "?" on the tool bar. Open it and click on "About Internet Explorer".
You should NOT SEE "64-bit Edition".
If you don't see "64-Bit Edition", go and try to view the PDF again.
It works for me and it seems I'll have to live with it until there's a patch for 64-Bit.

  • Adobe Reader in INR*

Hi - my nurses use INR* & when printing of the summary forms Adobe reader box appears, prints the document but then remains in the lower toolbar of the screen.  This does not happen on all pc's.  I have checked the setting in adobe/INR* but can not discover why this happens.  Can anyone help?
    Many thanks.

When I open the email in Gmail and tap on the PDF attachment, the
attachment opens but not in Reader. When I tap the Open In button, my only
choices are "open in chrome", "open in safari" and "link". I am not offered
"open in adobe". If I open the same email in Mail it works exactly as
described in the Getting Started tutorial in Adobe Reader. So this problem
    seems to relate to Gmail.

  • I have a MAC and when I try to use Adobe Reader, I get a pop up telling me I need to accept the end user agreement. It instructs me to go the Abobe Reader Installer download , double click and accept the agreement, but there is no agreement.  What should

I have a MAC and when I try to use Adobe Reader, I get a pop up telling me to lauch ADobe Reader and accept the end user license agreement, but when I do that, there is no agreement to acknowledge.   What should I do?

I have the same problem as Pam101. I am on OS X 10.9 and Safari 7 (actually on 2 iMacs). The one iMac is fine but the other with the same versions and settings Adobe Reader will not work. What happens is the Adobe Reader icon appears on the dock, bounces once and that's it. When trying to open a .pdf file from a website a new tab is opened on Safari, the background is black and there is a pop up message (black test on a white background) that reads: "Adobe PDF Before proceeding you must first launch Adobe Acrobat and accept the End User License Agreement." This is all very well but if Adobe Reader will not launch how on earth is it possible to accept the End User License Agreement terms? Very, very annoying, especially since it all works just fine if I launch a .pdf file from a website using Chrome. What is going on here and who do I talk to in order to fix this problem - Apple or Adobe?

  • Corrupted .pst files due to mistakenly trying to open them with Adobe Reader

This is a second post re the same problem, as I previously got only one response (from B. Alheit), which asked me to identify my operating system. I am beyond desperate to get this problem fixed.
As described previously (S Giraffe - 11/14), I was about to apply an email recovery program to some .pst files when, somehow (late at night/tired), I inadvertently clicked "Open with Adobe Reader." Then the disaster! The Adobe Reader logo appeared on the .pst file's icon - and also on every other .pst file in my Documents folder. When I tried to open them I got the following error message:
"Adobe Reader could not open 'Outlook (_).pst' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged."
I went back to my exernal hard drive to again decompress the original backup files, but these, too, all had the Adobe Reader logo on their icons and brought the same error message. How could trying to open ONE .pst file with Adobe Reader have affected every other .pst file on my C drive and in my external hard drive???
I need to recover my emails and contacts! Can anyone tell me anything that would enable me to correct whatever Adobe Reader did to my .pst files and get them back to their former state. I would be immensely appreciative.

Adobe Reader didn't "do" anything to your PST file, but you probably changed the file association by leaving "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" checked.
What you need to do is to reset the file association from Adobe Reader, and change it e.g. to SCANPST.EXE
If you have a recent system restore point (before the file association changed), restore that save point.  If not, you need to change it manually (either in the registry, or by opening the PST file with SCANPST.EXE, and again check "Always use the selected program...".

  • Adobe Reader 10 install problem?

Adobe reader download appears OK, but doesnt open doc.  Error message from Windows says 'Installation package could not be opened - etc etc.  How do I down load this reader?

That message appears during the installation?
Do you have an earlier Reader version installed that may be corrupted?
If so, remove the old Reader using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.
