  • Adobe reader xi installing error 1303

Hi, if i try to install it, i get that message: Error 1303. The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory on c:\program files, also  after some reboots or in  boot in safe mode, i'm able to install it, but it refuse to open any pdf file, and even i can install many other programs, i don't have the rights on the program files folder and subfolders, i use w7 64.
I got he same problem that this other message
Keep getting an error upon trying to download/install Adobe Reader XI
    That help page:
"Error 1303: Installer has insufficient privileges" or "Error 1304: Error writing to file" | Install | CS3, CS4, CS5 pro…
don't help, because OS don't allow me to get full rights on the folder even i'm the administrator, no other problem on computer, just reader XI fail.
    Thanks

This is very unusual; Adobe Reader should not attempt to access C:\Program Files on a 64-bit system; all should go into C:\Program Files (x86)
What I would try if I were to encounter your problem:
download the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ and save it to disk
right-click on the downloaded installer, then select Run as Administrator

  • Adobe Reader XI Install Error 1325 AI_RecycleBin is not a valid short file name

Adobe 10 worked fine on my computer, when I did the update for Adobe XI I got this error.  I tried a couple of times to redownload and install with no success.  Adobe Reader 10 wouldn't work either.  I did a restore on my computer back before the Reader update and that did not get Adober Reader back to working.
I have been through the Adobe Help & Support, and  Community.  I have used the uninstaller programs and checked anything and everything I found in those two places.  I even tried to install Reader 9 to no avail.
I am ready for some help and ideas?

In your post https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1572490 you show message 'Documents is not a valid short file name'.  Now you have the same problem with AI_RecycleBin?

  • Adobe Reader X Install Error - IE 6 or Greater is Required Issue

We are attempting to install Adobe Reader X on Windows 7 Professions 32-Bit machine with Internet Explorer 8.0 installed.
Part way through the installation process, we receive an error msg that the installation cannot continue because Adobe Reader X needs IE 6.0 or greater to continue.
I have checked the Registry to ensure Internet Explorer has a valid path:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software \Microsoft \Windows \CurrentVersion \App Paths \IEXPLORE.EXE
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Yoto

Can you download Adobe Reader X from http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.0.0/en_US/AdbeRdr1000_en_US.msi
Once you have downloaded the installer, run the following command on the command prompt:
    msiexec /i <path to AdbeRdr1000_en_US.msi> /l*v "C:\ReaderX.log" /qb
For example if your msi file is in C:\Test then type: msiexec /i "C:\Test\AdbeRdr1000_en_US.msi" /l*v "C:\ReaderX.log" /qb
If the installer fails then please post the file "C:\ReaderX.log" here.
Also ensure that your shdocvw.dll is located at "C:\Windows\System32" folder.

If you haved tried all the fixes and suggestions, there is not much to add. Just in case: did you really try using this tool http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html to first eliminate all traces of Reader, and then use the full offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/?

    Hi Simon,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble logging in to ExportPDF via Reader. I've checked your account, and all is well there.
For starters, please make sure that you have the most current version of Reader installed by choosing Help > Check for Updates.
If you're still having trouble logging in via Reader, please try logging in to the web interface at https://cloud.acrobat.com.
Please let us know how it goes.
    Best,

  • Adobe Reader X Printing Error with HP 5p

I recently updated to Adobe Reader X and now my printer won't print any PDFs.  I can print the same PDF with Adobe 9 on another computer so it is not the printer.  It prints and error page saying:
"This job requires more memory then is available in this printer.
Try one or more of the following, and then print agian:
For the output format, choose Optimize For Portability.
In the Device Settings page, make sure the Available PostScript Memory is accurate.
Reduce the number of fonts in teh document.
         Print the document in parts."
I have tried all of the these and still get the same error message.  I am glad I still have a copy of reader '9' that I will reinstall, but I hope someone at Adobe will fix this bug in 'X'.

I'm having the exact same problem. My document is a one-page item distributed by the federal government, so theoretically no problems within it that would give the public problems. I found a similar message about this in Adobe's forums where the person was told they should not have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and Adobe Reader 10 installed at the same time. Well removing Acrobat is dangerous, because when I installed Adobe Dreamweaver CS5, an expensive Web design tool, its installer said Acrobat was required for Dreamweaver to function. And one more thing: This effor message we're getting talks about going to the Device Settings page and making sure the Available PostScript Memory is accurate. I can't find a Device Settings page. I've even Googled the Web to find out what it might be; no luck!!

  • Checking if Adobe Reader is installed

    Hi,
We are dynamically creating PDF pages and having errors if
    Adobe Reader is
not installed on the computer. What is the best way to handle
    this?
Is there a way to check whether Adobe Reader is installed or
    not before
    creating the PDF page?
    Please let me know.
    YC

Well, the page opens a new window with the PDF format, but if
    there is no
Adobe Reader installed, it's trying to download the original
    "cfm" page
    instead of the "pdf."

  • Can't get adobe reader to install on my new laptop with windows 8

I can't get adobe reader to install onto my new laptop with windows 8. Basically what happens is that I start the download from the adobe screen by clicking the yellow download button, then I click run (I've also tried save and run), then I allow the program to make changes to my hard drive, and then finally a blank grey box appears in the in the middle of the screen, titled "adobe reader installer". After this box appears nothing else happens. I've let it sit for at least 30 minutes and still nothing. I've also disabled my pop up blocker, and set the security settings to default as suggested in other posts. Unfortunately this is the only pdf program that works for the site we have to use to write contracts, so I need to get this figured out asap. Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

    Try installing from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise

  • How do i install adobe reader without installing products from google.

i dont like google, i dont like a bunch of worthless taskbars crowding my browser. so how do i install adobe reader without installing google products when you dont even give me the chance to say i dont want them?
It is unethical to force onto people products of any nature that they do not want. i do not want google products so by your installation for adobe reader automatically installing google products without my consent is unethical.

I don't understand the "forcing" part; the bundled software is clearly optional, and can be unchecked before the download.
Or using the download link that Michael provided earlier (which is posted at least a dozen times every day in this forum).

  • Adobe Reader Rights with Acrobat 10 Pro

I recently upgraded from Acrobat Pro 9 to 10.  With 9 I could assign Adobe Reader Rights.  With 10 I can't quite figure out how to do that and forms designed in 9 when revised lose these rights.  Any suggestions?

I think you are in the wrong forum.
This forum deals with Adobe LiveCycle Collaboration Service.

You can extract pages with Adobe Acrobat, not Adobe Reader.

  • Merged pdf with "extend features in adobe reader" rights

    Hi all,
I would like to merge a pdf file into my basic pdf form with "extend features in adobe reader" rights but I would like to keep my basic form without those rights.
My problem is that when I try to open my basic form and link to my merged attachement file, the merged file becomes not modifiable even with "extend features in adobe reader" rights turned on.
Any suggestion to solve my problem?
Thx in advance for your help

Not possible with Adobe Acrobat. You may check this product:
