Adobe Reader Rights

Hi,
I am getting rendering exception while previewing my form in SFP tcode.
I think Reader rights might not have been installed properly.. Is there anyway we can check Reader rights been installed properly ?
Cheers

Hello,
if the problem occures with interactive forms only, print forms work, you might have problem with the Reader Rights Credentials.
This is installed properly if in Visual Administrator under server node >> services >> DocuementServicesConfiguration Service
the Credential with name "ReaderRights" is visible and the Expiry Date is also a valid Datum in the Future.
Best regards,
Dezso

My problem is that when I try to open my basic form and link to my merged attachement file, the merged file becomes not modifiable even with "extend features in adobe reader" rights turned on.
Any suggestion to solve my problem?

  • Safari /Quick Time Player/Adobe Reader

When I try to download/open a pdf-document out of a webpage Quicktime starts automatically and shows just the fist page of the document instead of all pages. What can I do that the pdf document will be opened automatically by Adobe Reader.

Right click on any .pdf file and choose "Get Info".
In the Get Info window you'll see a tab that says "Open with:"
Change it from QuickTime to Adobe Reader and then click the "Change All..." button.

  • Adobe Reader XI crashes when using find (command F)

I have a Mac with intel 10.9 and Adobe crashes everytime I use find. I get the pinwheel loading symbol and then Adobe ALWAYS crashes. Is there a way I can fix this?

This problem has not been addressed for a long time.  Every time it happened, I reported it.  Each time I had to start activity monitor and force quit Adobe reader.  I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader and the problem persisted
    I did find a bypass.
    Open the Applications folder
    Select Adobe Reader
Right click and move Adobe Reader to Trash
Find a PDF file in the finder and double click.
The PDF file will open in Preview and the Find command will work.
I will check back periodically to see if Adobe had fixed the problem.  So far I have not found any feature unique to Adobe Reader that I cannot live without

  • Adobe Reader Browser Plugin - How to disable right click print

Here is some background to my question
I'm using Adobe Reader 9.2 and have configured to use the Adobe Reader Active X browser plugin.
which has the effect of launching pdf's within the IE browser rather than launching the full client. This is all working fine
I have a requirement that I need to lockdown certain menu items (for the purpose of this example, lets say "SaveAs" and "Print") and toolbars which I have also done successfully using folder level javascripts. For example I have created a HideMenuItems.js file and placed this in the "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\Javascripts", here is a snippet of the file which relate to hiding / removing the SaveAs and Print items
    app.hideToolbarButton("Print");
    app.hideToolbarButton("SaveFileAs");
    app.hideToolbarButton("Save");
These work fine and hide the Print and Save toolbar buttons from the Adobe Reader Browser plugin menu.
    As an aside If I wanted to hide the same icons from the full adobe reader client I could use app.hideMenuItem("Print");
So this all works fine and I'm happy so far. Now, with these settings in place I launch the pdf within the browser, although save and print buttons are now hidden and I cannot add them back, I can still RightClick anywhere in the pdf and get the context menu, from there I can select print.
What I'm after is a way to either
    (i) Selectively remove menu items from the right click context menu, and therefore remove the print option e.g something like app.[hideRightClickMenuItem]("Print") would be great but I dont know what that method is called.
    or
(ii) Disable the RightClick context menu altogether for Adobe Reader Browser Plugin
Not bothered what the solution is whether its a reg hack - HKCU / HKLM  / or javascript line I can add to my HideMenuItems.js, But basically I want to lock down the ability for the users to select print button from all sources including "CTRL + P",
Or if this is not possible let them hit CTRL P or right click print, but then not display the Adobe Print Dialog.
Basically the printing of the documents in handled by our web app sending a silent print to the adobe application which again works fine, I just need to prevent the users from being able to initiate a print from within the pdf when displaying the pdf in a browser.
Having searched around there is an API called AVAppRegisterForPageViewRightClicks which is supposed to prevent right clicks, But I dont know how to use this, or whether it can be used within my HideMenuItems.js file, tried many different syntaxes but to no avail.
Does anyone have any experience in this? Adobe - do you have any suggestions ?
    Cheers
    Will

Hi thanks for your response, yes it seems this API is availalbe but there are no examples of how to use it. You mentioned its available in Adobe reader and Adobe Acrobat plugins. Well I'm using the Adobe Reader Active X Browser Plugin so how would I use this API to restrict the Browser plugin.l
I am not a developer writing my own custom plugins, I simply want to use the out of the box adobe reader product, specifically the Active X browser plugin, but I need to be able to customise and restrict what the user is able to do.
The reason I need to do this is that we publish IE on a citrix server which users access to launch this highly secure web based application. The sensitive data that they view is in the forms of PDFs which are viewed by the Adobe reader browser plugin within the browser. The web application controls who can save, export, print etc, so I need to be able to lock down the Adobe Reader Active X browser plugin so that the user cannot initiate save, and print functionality from within the viewed pdf. I've done this successfully by restricting the menu and toolbar items but it is still possible to right click on the viewed pdf and click select print from the context menu. This would cause us a big security flaw, which would result in users that are only supposed to view being able to click print.
I published a desktop (locked down) and published IE (locked down) all successfully with GPOs so the users cannot do anything they are not supposed to do, however Adobe reader it seems cannot be easily locked down and this is a problem as I might have to start looking at viable alterantives. Surely a simple requirement as this could be acheieved with relative ease.
In an ideal world there would be an  available GPO template (.ADM file), which could be used to centrally manage these type of settings. I dont even mind writing an ADM myself, I've written many before, but for example what I need is the appropriate registry entries and how they are used to lock down / restrict certain functions so that I can write such an .ADM file.
I dont mind how I achieve this, I just need a way to do it. So if using the API AVAppRegisterForPageViewRightClicks would achieve this, can someone please tell me how I can implement something that would use this API to restrict the right Click Print options for example.
The sort of answer I;m looking for would be
Create a file, paste in this code, place the file is this location xxxxx, this is a per machine fix so will affect all users
    or
Edit the regstry and make this HKCU change xxxxx - This is obviously a per user fix so use normal methods to get this into every users profile.
    or
Open up the file in this location xxxxxx and add AVAppRegisterForPageViewRightClicks = AlwaysDisable (or whatever the syntax is)
    Thanks for you help
    Cheers

Thanks Farshid for sending the file.
We have tried using the file you sent on multiple linux distributions with Linux Reader 8.1.2 but we're not able to replicate the issue you're facing. We've tried on Ubuntu 8.04 as well and haven't seen any issues.

  • Print from Windows Explorer Right Click (Adobe Reader X, WinXP)

When I right click on a batch of PDF files in Windows Exploer (WinXP) and click "Print" Reader used to print them all to
my default printer.  With Reader X windows waits patiently for me to close Reader before printing each file.

I am also getting exactly the same problem, highlighting multiple pdf files right clicking and choosing "print" prints the first document, fails to close the adobe x window and sits there patiently untill it's manualy closed and then the next document prints  - repeat - loop.
Have this happening on just about every windows xp machine in the office that I try it on and any and all versions of "Adobe X" that I care to install.
would love a fix for this, reinstalling 9 manually on every PC would waste a day of my life.

  • Right Click Printing in Adobe Reader X

Using Windows XP and Adobe Reader X I am having some printing issues. For example, I open My Documents folder and right click on the PDF i want to print, without opening the file in Adobe Reader first and then clicking print, then I open my next file within the same folder and print that one the same way.  With the new Adobe Reader X, I right click it prints the first document however it appears as though Reader stays open then when I go to do the second document it doesn't allow the program to print until I close Reader (which was opened by the first document I printed) is closed.  Once closed it opens Reader again and then leave it open until I phyiscally close it.  In prior versions when I would print it would close reader - I have tested the issue on another users machine and it works fine however on my machine it does not.
Is they an option in Adobe Reader X i need to turn on or off, to get the function of printing by right clicking on the PDF file without having to physically open and close Reader X to print?

I anwswered my own question because it appears as this thing isn't monitored or people don't want to help you out in a timely fashion.
Click Edit>Preferences and remove the check from the Enable Protected Mode at Startup in the General Tab.  This should fix the issue

  • Reader Extension rights problem in Adobe Reader 9.x

    Hi Experts,
I was working on ADLC 8.2.3 version shipped by SAP.
    I am using reader 9.X
My Development have one data source being used by 2 different dynamic forms where forms content enable and disable dynamically based on user inputs.
Every time I save the form with data changes it saves as a new version. no problem with this.
When I create for the 1st time v 0001 is created.
now I open 0001 edit and save V 0002 is created.
Again when I open V0002 to edit the following message is displayed.
"This document contained certain rights to enable special features in Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and these rights are no longer valid. Please contact the author for the original version of this document."
This is been happening very recently and only with form 2,  form 1 works fine.
Also when I searched this error i found that it was bug in reader 8.1.. and a patch is relased on top of it, but i am using 9.X.
Couple of Adobe fourms says this happens if the ADS server and the client with adobe reader are in different timestamp and zones this causes the problem, but i check with our basis both are in same location and time stamps.
Can somebody help me what was the reason behind.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sai Krishna.

    Hi Chinta,
This the development in CRM 7.0 using webrequest which uses ZCI layout.
Towards this web request I have form 1 and form 2 which are basically request category views of Adobe form layout.
In CRM UI we have a button on click of it, form1 is poped up in a window with edit mode and in version 0001.
in init method of the badi impl we fetch data for application object and set values to the webrequest fields.
Based on these fields value form enable and disable subforms on form ready event.
User fills in the form he then either saves it as draft or final submit (for this I have a flag field based on this value I make the entire form sections as protected). in either of the events form1 is saved with this version 0001.
Now user will have dropdowns with versions and form names.
Here he can see only one version 0001 in version Dropdown and 2 different forms in view dropdowns.
He selects the version 0001 and form2.
click on edit, the form2 is opened in edit mode, some of the fields data come from form1 and init methods, these values again make the form content visibility dynamically. Also we have couple of dynamic rods added etc as we do normally in adobe forms.
again he saves it draft or final submit (again here based on a flag value we make the form content protected), so here say he saves it as draft. Now this is saved as version 0002.
Note: version is on web request structure so for every change to the data it will create a new version and every version is linked to these defined forms.
So now in CRm UI user can see 2 versions and 2 forms for each version.
User selects version 0002 & form2 and clicks on edit.
Screen refreshes and should open the form2 in edit mode to continue, but here i get a popup message as detailed in this theread early post.
I tried to put the explanation as detailed as possible,
Please let me know if you need more info.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sai

  • Adobe Reader 9.3.2 - PDF attachment won't print from right click

    Hi all,
Hopefully someone can assist some kind of suggestion, we have just rolled out Adobe Reader 9.3.2 upgrade from v8.  When we now try to print a PDF Outlook 2003 attachment from the right click menu, we are prompted with the 'Open With' window.  Selecting Adobe Reader 9.3 and press okay opens the document, but it doesn't spool.  We can print the document fine from Adobe Reader itself, any ideas?
    TIA
    Frosty

I have seen the same problem in this forum a couple of times (on Windows Vista and 7 only), but I have never seen a solution for it.
Can you try if Adobe Reader 8.2 does the same?  Download it from here http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/8.x/8.2/enu/AdbeRdr820_en_US.msi
If the same happens with Reader 8.2, then I have no other suggestion than to try an alternate PDF viewer.

  • Disable Right Click Context Menu in XP "OPEN WITH ADOBE READER 8"

How can I eliminate the right click context menu "OPEN WITH ADOBE READER 8" in Windows XP?
I have general familiarity with removing context menus. I see no option for this one in msconfig, or various context menu editors. I am unable to find a setting in Adobe Reader 8. If you know where the setting is, or have solved this problem, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Joey

That would be the device Metadata from the print driver vendor. It's part of the Device Stage feature mainly for client OS.
Here is some MSDN documentation on the feature.
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/device-management
If this is a print server, use the tools include by the print team if you are performing any management on the server.
    Printmanagement.msc
The Devices UI is really about devices it's not designed for print management, the spooler team had minimal input on the UI design.
