Adobe Reader # Sprachauswahl bei jedem Start

Hallo,

    Herzlichen Dank!

  • How can I stop  Adobe Reader from opening after start up?

I just installed version 9. I remember a question that appeared during installation that was something like "do you want Adobe Reader to open after start up?" I said checked yes because I assumed this meant I wanted it in my StartUp menu. After everything loads and my desktop comes up, the Adobe Reader file opens up showing all the program's files and just sits there. I have to close it each time after start up.
I looked through Preferences, but can't find a way of stopping the program's file window from opening after start up. How can I stop this? Thanks for your help.

    Edit>Preferences
    Under Page Display:
Where it says "Location of referenced files", if it shows "Floppy Disk A:/" clear the box, or choose an alternate location if you can't clear it.
    Also, under Search:
    Click "Purge Cache Contents"

  • Adobe Reader 8 won't start in "hand tool" mode

I have Adobe Reader 8.1.3 on Vista Home Premium.
The program will not start in 'hand tool' reading mode, it always starts in 'select tool' mode and I have to change it manually. If I quit reader after switching it to 'hand tool' mode, it does not remember, and next time starts in 'select tool' mode again.
In Edit -> Preferences -> General -> Basic Tools, the only Hand- or Select-tool checkbox that is checked is "Make Hand Tool Read Articles".
Based on a similar question in the Adobe Reader Unix forum (http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3c055988) I fould all the instances of registry key "aDefaultSelect" that I could (4 of them) and changed their values from "Select" to "Hand".
However this did not solve the problem!
Any help would be much appreciated.

Nevermind, seems to be working now!

  • Adobe Reader 9.4 has started to open all my PDF documents continuously

Recently, every time I open Adobe Reader, or click on a PDF document on file to open it, Reader starts opening all PDF documents on file continuously until I get a message saying there are too many open documents to open any more.  The only way out appears to be use of force quit.
Have I picked up some kind of virus, or is there just a setting that I need to change?

Oddly, it sort of sounds like app behavior under Mac OS X Lion.  Lion has a feature called Resume that puts an app that is launched into the state it was in when it last quit.  So, if certain documents were open when it last quit, those documents would "resume" (re-open automatically) the next time the app is launched.
Now, your profile info says you have a PowerPC iMac running Leopard (and you are posting the "iMac (PPC)" forum), so this should not apply.  But maybe you are running Lion on a newer Mac and your profile info is old.  Or maybe Adobe Reader has been updated to have a restore open documents feature.  In that case, if you accidentally selected all in a folder full of many PDF files and opened them all, and then you quit Reader in that state, that "state" may have been saved for the next time you launched Reader. By closing each document manually, and then quitting Reader, you changed the state when last quit to having no open documents.
If this happens again (in any app), these commands may be useful to know:
There is usually a Close command under the File menu (in the Menu Bar).  If you press the Option key, that command changes to Close All.  So if an app unintentionally opens a very large number of windows (and it is not locked up as a result), you can give the Close All command instead of manually closing each window.
In Lion, if you press (and hold) the Shift key while launching an app, the app launches with a "clean slate" (ignoring the state when it last quit).  I don't know if that would have worked in your case, but it would have been worth a try.  Sorry I did not think of it before; I did not see the possible connection to the Resume feature.

  • Adobe Reader 10 won't start sometimes

I rely on Adobe Reader 10 for my little home based business. I'm using Windows 7 and lately, at times, I cant get the reader to open when I click on a file. It MAY have something to do with after I wake the computer up when it went to sleep, but I'm not sure. This morning when it did it, I hot ctrl-alt-delete and found 3 iterations of Adobe Reader running, but it still wouldn't open, and every time I tried, it would open another iteration in memory. I tried deleting it from the computer, then downloading and installing a new version, and it didn't help, until I rebooted, then it worked.
But I shut the computer off, came back, turned it on, and it's doing it again!
It's making me crazy because clients need me to check something and I have to tell them that Adobe Reader isn't working and I cant read their file!
Update 7-22-11:  I hit ctrl-alt-del and went into my task manager when this was happening. There was some kind of Adobe speed launcher tray running and by killing that, Reader 10 would instantly start up. That launch thing doesn't appear to be running normally. Is this a bug in the software? How can I shut off that speed launch tray thing? I have a quad core PC and it doesn't make any difference.

    It works on another browser?

  • Adobe reader XI freezes upon start up and wont work

    Hi
I am running Windows 7 home premium with 64bit system and Kaperskys antivirus.  Everytime I open adobe XI it freezes up and displays the thinking icon both on the mouse hover and right screen of the adobe reader.  I tried installing the older adobe X as a couple discussion threads advised.  The older adobe X works a couple times then does the same thing.  I need the reader to read and sign docs.  Does anyone know how to make it work on my comp???  Thank you!!!
    Cody, Bend, OR

Try these things for Reader XI...
Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, then double-click on Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
If you cannot open Reader by itself, try to disable Protected Mode in the registry; download, unzip, then run the attached registry script
It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

I have windows 8 OS. After downloading the free version of the Reader and trying to read a PDF document, the Reader window temporarily opens up but then a few seconds later it disappears. I also tried disabling McAfee, but the problem did not go away. Any ideas what the problem is??

  • Adobe Reader XI is not starting

The download and the installation went fine. But trying to open a pdf file, or even trying to launch the reader from start section are not working.
    What I see:
The manual launch of the reader brings up the reader window with grey background, but this stays open only for few seconds, and is closing by itself.
    Operating System:
    Win 7 Ultimate
Just to mention I never had this issue before, with any Reader version.
    Tx!

Please try upgrading the NVIDIA driver, in case present on your machine using below link

  • Adobe reader updater does not start

    Hi Adobe community,
I am not sure how to resolve this issue. I've tried downloading the reader again hoping that it will over ride this but as usual ( those savvy with this kind of things will already know) it will not allow stating that there is an update in progress and to let the last update finish before installing the updates that I wanted. The updates in question are Adobe (to over ride this cycle) and also the Windows updates.
It has been weeks that this has been happened but as there seem to be no major impact on my computer usage I felt that it is alright to leave it as it is. But I recently found out that Windows update do contain security updates that are important so I am here to try to solve this issue. I have left the updater overnight but it just stays like it is.
So this is why I am here, I hope you guys/gals can help me out. I will attach a screen shot of the 'offending' offender and hope you guys can suggest a simple way to resolve this. And also I cannot shut down my computer.
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Pat,
    Thanks for the help!
I have tried the installer now and at restart both no go.
And then the patch I get this:
    And finally the requested information:
Let me know if this is an issue that can be a simple fix, if not I may have to re- install my OS. Which I dread as I do not know how to go about it.
    Thanks

  • Adobe reader crashes when opening, both local and from Firefox

Running Windows XP, Firefox 3.6.    Adobe 9.3 crashes Firefox when I attempt to view a downloaded pdf.  When I start adobe reader from Windows "Start" it begins to start with Adobe ID screen, then stops with no other effect or error message.
Reader 9.3 worked successfully for months.  Problem started after computer maintenance and cleaning up of excess files and services running in the background.  I have not experienced problems with any other programs.
When the problem arose I uninstalled with Windows Add/Remove Program.  Rebooted then reinstalled 9.3.  Same problem.
I used Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to clean up adobe.  Notice that many files and folders still exist in /Program Files/Adobe/Reader 9.0 , so I renamed folder to "OLD Reader 9.0"
Reinstalled 9.3 ....still did not work.  Uninstalled, rebooted, then installed Reader 8.2.  Still not working.
Somewhere in the process I also uninstalled Adobe Air and Acrobat.com.
What would cause Adobe Reader to not fully start, and to crash Firefox when it does try to start as a plug-in?  How can I manually uninstall ALL of Adobe Reader?
    Thanks for any input,
    Mark

Ok, I just went to start up Reader 8.0, it failed with no event on screen.  Event viewer gave me no report under Application.  Under System I found a slewof these...
