I can not believe that Adobe Reader Support will not help some one with tech support unless you buy a contract. I just think that is wrong and all that it is, is a money game..

So I have also placed a copy back where I thought I first had it so it can be found by other Windows users who, like me, are creating PDF files because they are meant to comply with an international cross-platform standard and not simply be the domain of one platform over the other.

How would you like the feature to work? When I add a transparent frame containing a basic Adobe Media encoded mp4 or f4v video, export to interactive PDF from Adobe InDesign, I want the PDF and its interactive videos to work on iPads. See an example file here: ***EXAMPLE PROVIDED*** Click the lefthand top and bottom corners to bring up interactive video elements which should open in floating window, maximized, then have an exit button to close and continue reading the PDF. Of course, this does not function under Adobe Reader for iOS. You also need to attend to audio files embedded in the same way and allow an exit button to close the audio window so the reader can continue reading the PDF on Windows.
Why is this feature important to you? I create eReaders for schools across the whole country and they are taking up iPads at an unprecedented rate. If Adobe do not produce a solution for interactive PDFs on iOS then I will no longer use InDesign, Acrobat, Adobe Media Encoder or Photoshop to create works in the future. You're looking at a massive education market that will leave Adobe behind if this is not acted upon very very soon. For some publishers it's already too late and they have moved to app based creation tools.

If I understand the problem correctly (I’m not sure I do) you would prefer ‘iii’ to be read as “eye eye eye” rather than “three”? The alt text property is the only way that I know of to make this happen. Hope this helps.

Adobe Reader support for 64-bit Ubuntu systems

Any attempt to install any current version of Adobe Reader fails...
Usually with a "Wrong Architure - I386" message.
if you try to follow the "new" intructions for using apt-get you get the following...
sudo apt-get install acroread
Reading package lists... Done

Two questions:
1.) Does Adobe have any intensions on supporting 64-bit Linux?
2.) Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get the reader to work on a 64-bit system?

Adobe Reader is 32-bit only, and so is the plugin. This may change some time in the future, but for now it's 32-bit.

Does Adobe Reader support 64-bit IE versions?

When opening a pdf from 64 bit IE, the links in the pdf document don't work. I've had to use the 32 bit IE 9 client and then the links work fine. Is there any way getting around having to use two versions of IE?

I agree, there isn't much benefit to the 64-bit client, but one distinct advantage could be speed. Since 64 bit clients typically don't run with add-ons (because most add-ons are 32-bit), the browser loads faster and runs a little quicker. But to me, that is not enough to switch from 32-bit. The reason I primarily care is I support external customers at a 3rd level, and I'm starting to see more and more of this where there default client is th 64-bit IE and not 32-bit. Trying to convince most users to just use 32-bit is pretty easy, but there are always a handful that want the latest and greatest and they have a hard time understanding that it just will not work for them in a lot of situations. If the PDF is a form fillable PDF, which I assume that it is, email it to yourself or send it to DropBox and open it on your computer. You should see the fields filled in there. It works for me if I do it that way.
Adobe Reader supports it, but the other apps don't. I assume that if you email the PDF to a computer user it would be readable in Adode Reader.

Problem with adobe reader

i have downloaded adobe reader to my android tablet and have purchased and downloaded two books. the books appear in my download folder but not in adobe reader. when i try to open the books i get a blank screen with HTML Viewer on it and nothing else. i thought the books would automatically go to adobe reader. how can i get them there so i can read them

Problem with SharePoint metadata (People Picker) in Adobe Reader X.

Have a problem related metadata that is in SharePoint 2010 when I try to upload a PDF from Adobe Reader X (Online site). I have a few mandatory fields such as; Document Owner, Document Type, Date, etc..
When I save the PDF to a document library, so fetches Adobe metadata from the designated document library. I am forced to fill in my field, but when I get to document owner field the people picker don´t work. So I can not complete the transfer/upload of the
document.
Any ideas or solutions?!?!

What did you mean for “upload a PDF from Adobe Reader X (Online site)”? Whether you mean that the SharePoint 2010 site is an online site.
Per my knowledge, when you upload document into SharePoint, the metadata of the documents cannot upload to SharePoint. If you are using a third solution or party tool, I suggest you ask the third solution or party tool support for help.
In addition, I am not an Adobe Reader expert, I suggest you ask the Adobe Reader support for help.

Calling Adobe Reader for iOS from my iOS App

I have an iOS application that allows readers to view PDF Documents in a child window; Some users want the full search and navigation features of Adobe Reader for iOS, so I would like to be able to pass the PDF Link to the Adobe Reader App on the users iPad . I am assuming Adobe Reader supports HandleOpenURL so I should be able to launch Adobe Reader and pass it the document using some syntax like:
AdobeReader://myDocLink.pdf
However I dont know the proper syntax, or if Adobe supports it. Anyone know? thanks!

I think that Adobe reader supports file sharing.
Connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes. Select the iPad on the left side under "devices". Click on the Apps Tab in the window on the right. Scroll down to the File Sharing Apps list under the main apps list. Click on Adobe Reader. Drag the documents into the file sharing window on the right or select them using the "add" button.
Launch the Adobe reader app and the files should be in there.

Offline installer for Adobe Reader

I'm trying to download offline installer of latest Adobe Reader for bulk installations on PCs in my company. It used to be simple and last version I got was 11.02.
Latest version forces me to register for distribution of Adobe software. Fair enough, I requested access to the Reader, got one email to confirm my details, then another one which should contain link to the .exe installer. Sadly the URL in "To download the English language version of Adobe Reader 9 with Acrobat.com in compressed .exe format, click here." redirects to this address:
