Adobe Reader v.9.1 - problem during installation

I've tried to download the free Adobe Reader Version 9.1 on a number of occasions, and I get to the last window with 1 second to go, when an error window appears as follows:
"Error1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component. {63E949F6-03BC-5C40-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}. HRESULT: 0x8007371B."
It's a bit frustrating because I can't access any PDF files, as they are displayed on wordpad, ie gobbledegook! Many thanks for any assistance. Can anybody help?

AdbeRdr910_en_US.exe installs without AIR and Acrobat.com.
Extracted this EXE to get MSI and used Customization Tool to create MST. Deselected AIR in the Customization Tool.
Installing using MSI and MST still results in AIR and Acrobat.com being installed.
Anyone else run into this?

I don't know how to do what is being asked. I have tried to download Adobe Reader again but get this when I do: Note: this application already installed.
I have Adobe Reader X (10.0.1) with an update installed on 2/19/2011. I have Windows XP SP3.
Anyone who can help me get Adobe Reader working correctly again or uninstalling it so I can reinstall.

Thanks for the input. Did you remove Adobe Reader 10 first before you downloaded the older version? If you removed it, how did you do that? The add/remove programs in control panel won't let me remove it -- it says a patch package can't be opened.

Get "Adobe Reader has encountered a problem and needs to close." . I have uninstalled adibe and reinstalled it and problem came back within 2 weeks after working for a short time.

Try the following:
Uninstall Adobe Reader X
Reboot your computer
Delete directory C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0
Download the EXE or the MSI installer from ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.0/ and execute e.g. either of the following files:
AdbeRdr1010_en_US.exe
AdbeRdr1010_en_US.msi

Namely during PREP_EXTENSION/EHP_INCLUSION! phase i got error:

You need to download and install all requirements as selected by Solution Manager for EHP4, WEBCUIF is a required component. Do not delete any entries in the xml file.

I tried to install the patch 9.2.0.5 ID 3501955 but I've encoured a problem during
installation.
I've got a warning who asked me to stop somes services:
OracleMTSRecoveryService, OracleOraHome92TNSListener,
OracleOraHome92Agent et OracleServiceBETA.
After stopping it, I tried to install the patch again but I've got the
following error: "No service associated with process that use it" and
installation process stop at this point.
I would like to know if you succeed to install this patch and if you've
got an idea to fix my problem.

Did you run the catpatch.sql after the patch 9.2.0.5? You have to complete the post installation tasks as specified in the readme. We have a 9205 installation and have all the aw & awm packages in it.

NOT RESOLVED
It seems to be a problem with my windows installation. I will re-install at a later date since installing PDF viewing programs the only issue.
Problem:
While installing Adobe Reader XI using the install_reader11_en_mssd_aaa_aih.exe from Adobe Reader Install for all versions and AdbeRdr11000_en_US.msi from a forum post on here. Error 1935 occurs using both installers and causes the setup to fail and initiate rollback.
Additional information:
In Programs & Features list there is no adobe reader as you can see:
This is pretty much a clean install of windows on which I have installed: Adobe Flash Player (16), Steam + some games, Chrome, Skype and some Visual C++ Redistributables, .NET Framwork, Drivers for GPU, CPU, Motherboard and USB devices.

Steps taken:
1. I have cleared the transaction log using command prompt with the following command:

Restarting the computer and trying to install Adobe Reader 11 results in the same error.
2. Restarting the computer, disabling Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and installing Adobe Reader 11 results in the same error.
3. Chrome has "allow all sites to run JavaScript" checked.

I had same problem.i resolved it by reinstalling OS and configuring high Page file.
Please set the max and min Page file size of same value.
and also do the java memory tuning as per SAP Notes.

Sporadic Adobe Reader 9 GPO install problems

Hello everyone,
I've been working on this issue for quite a while now and haven't been able to come up with any solutions. I've been pushing out Adobe Reader 9.1 to a couple hundred workstations in our company through a group policy. We were previously at version 8. It seems like the installtion works fine on all of the clients, but they start having strange issues at random times. Reader may work fine for a couple days or weeks and then all of a sudden the users get a message about Intenet Explorer not allowing the PDF to open through the browser because of security restrictions. I initially thought this was a problem with file associations, but then I noticed that if the user tries to open Adobe Reader from the start menu, it attempts to reinstall the application. I know this is not a IE security problem, because we were previously working find on version 8.
I found that downloading and reinstalling the 9.1 setup from Adobe's website seemed to fix the problems. PDF's opened correctly from the browser after the reinstall. At first this seemed to only be happening to a couple users here and there, but over time the amount of affected users has increased drastically.
In the last couple days, I've realized that even the reinstall doesn't seem to be fixing the issue. I've had one user in particular that I've reinstalled three times in the last week. After the reinstall everything is fine, but by the next day Adobe Reader isn't working any more.
I've checked the event logs and can't find anything that looks like it would help. I really need to figure this out. I had to stop my roll out halfway though because of the issues we were having and I need to upgrade to version 9.1 to support a new application that my company wants to use.
