Adobe Reader Ver. 9

I have a .pdf file made by GNUCash that cannot be viewed by
Adobe Reader Ver. 9/Vista. It can be viewed just fine in versions 7
and 8 and with .pdf viewers under Linux. What is the problem and
how do I fix it?

  • Having a problem downloading w/Adobe Reader Ver. 9.4.2 that does not occur with Ver 8.2.0

    I use a screening service
for rental applicants that provides their reports in pdf format.  I am unable to view or view some of their reports when using Adobe Reader Ver. 9.4.2.  However, I can view and print all of their reports when using Adobe Reader 8.2.0.

There is no Adobe Reader version 9.4.2 (yet); the latest version is 9.4.0.  If you do have 9.4.2, then it is most likely not a genuine Adobe Reader.

    Adobe Readerの最新バージョンは「8.1.2」では?
    > os : windows vista home premiam
    「premiam」は「Premium」では?
    またWindows Vista Home Premium 64bit版ということは?

    ちなみに、Adobe Reader単体で起動しても同じような現象になってします。

    この現象はどのバージョンから発生しだしたのかも知りたい。

  • Multiple instance of adobe reader ver. 7 and up

Hi, I've read the article about multiple versions of acrobat installed on a pc, but it only mentions about ver 7 and below. What about the version 8?
I'm trying to install adobe reader 7 AND adobe reader 8, but it won't allow me. Is there any ways to complete this?
    Thanks, CMI

    Hi
I had a similar issue and wanted both versions. I called Adobe and they said DONT!! capital letters and exclamation marks. So I did. I suggest you dont do this and I have only tested it a few times and it may well mess your system - so DONT !!!!
I had 7 on my sytem and wanted both 7 and 8
    I renamed the \adobe\acrobat 7.0 folder \xxacrobat 7
    I renamed the folder \adobe reader 7 folder to \xxadobe reader 7.
I then installed Acrobat 8 from Adobe.com and it didnt take the folders away, so I changed the names back again.
PDFs automatically open with 8, even if you use Open with and find the path to AcroRd32.exe in the Adobe 7.0\Reader folder.
    HOWEVER
If you open the AcroRd32.exe in the Reader 7 folder and then use File Open it appears to open your document in Vrsion 7.0.
Please dont do this on a system that you care if it never loads again - else enjoy.

  • Adobe Reader Ver 9.3.3

I just received a notice of update for Adobe Reader and downloaded it. When I look in the About/Help I see ver 9.3.3.
If I am not mistaken, the previous version I had was 9.3.3.
Should the download I just made change the version number? Or is the download ALSO ver 9.3.3 (and the version I had already on my computer is also 9.3.3)?
    Please advise
    Alice

And foxit reader recently had a vulnerability also - Adobe is getting better about faster updates
    And the latest -
Adobe is planning to release critical updates on August 19, 2010 for Adobe Reader 9.3.3 for Windows, Macintosh and Unix as well as the Adobe Acrobat 9.3.3 for Windows and Macintosh and an update for Adobe Reader 8.2.3 and Acrobat 8.2.3 for Windows and Macintosh covered in security bulletin APSB10-17. • Adobe Reader ver X and XI

I added upgrade as advised by Adobe to Reader Ver XI but the page arrows enlarge the page once and do not turn to next page.
But the zoom facility is by a magnifier glass that works ok.
So there is a problem and I want to reload Ver X and cannot!
Also when I click on a PDF file it does not automatically pick it up in emails.
    Anyone any ideas please?

    What exactly means "cannot"?
Also, I do not actually understand your original problem.

  • Display pattern of numeric field in adobe reader ver 8 and 9.

I have added a text field to my form and have set the following properties:
    Type: Numeric field
Limit length to visible area: checked (so that it accepts upto 9 digits)
    display pattern: zzz9
    data pattern: zzz9
    data format: Integer
When I type "123456789" in the field, adobe reader version 7 and 9 are adding commas to the number and are displaying it as "123,456,789" while adobe reader 8 displays it the way i want "123456789"
Appreciate if someone can quickly provide some guidance here.

The issue is that the pattern that you are applying from the field cannot be applied to your input so the default pattern for numeric fields is being applied (hence the 123,456,789). If you make sure that your numeric field is set for integer (Binding tab/Data Format). Then set the display pattern to num{zzzzzzzz9}. It will work.
The default pattern is held in the XDP template. It is created based on your locale. If you click on the XML Source tab (between Preview and Master Pages - if it is not visible then you can make it visible on the View/XML Source menu)then do a serach ctrl-F for numberPattern you will see where it is defined in the template. If you modify this one then it will only be applied for this form. Any new forms will revert back to the old pattern.

  • Specific PDF not opening in Adobe Reader on Lumia ...

I get an error message on a Lumia 625 when trying to open a downloaded pdf (88Mb) in Adobe Reader Vers 10.4.3.
I have more than 3Gb free space. The file seems to be successfully downloaded & joins the list of all PDF documents in the Adobe Reader app. All other PDFs DO open OK. Just not this one.
The message reads “The document path is not valid” & phone screen shows “Loading...” but fails to actually open anything
What does this mean & how do I fix it? Thankyou in advance...

Thankyou. The Central Question over this Lumia 625 inability to open a specific pdf (by Lonely Planet) remains:-I could uninstall this Adobe Reader app but think this is not the problem as this app does indeed open all other pdf's on my phone successfully, e.g. the Lonely Planet Invoice!
On the other hand, this particular downloaded & installed pdf can be read on my home PC, my Macbook & my IpodTouch so I can't attribute fault to the filename.
The basic Troubleshoot step of a "soft reset"  is NOT described in the Lumia 625 User Guide & I'm pessimistic this arbitrary step will bear fruit. I have come to the conclusion that no matter what I do, this Lumia model using the MIcrosoft OS has a system flaw that is unable to read the file (a file that other devices & another OS can read) & I will not waste time with ad hoc actions such as resets as this is not a hobby for me.
The pdf in question (88Mb, Lumia free space is >3Gb)  is a travel guide I'd like to use on my next trip & this Lumia 625 is proving not worthy of coming with me. I am disappointed at the lack of "Customer Support" shown by the Nokia Company & I hope this is relayed as some "friendly feedback". Thank you for your own assistance, though.
I invite correction if this assessment is mistaken.

  • Adobe Reader 9.2 not opening web pages in Win7 64bit

After reading all the threads on this subject, it seems that two things are obvious: Adobe has a lot of trouble with their software fixes, and secondly, the fixes seem to be different for many PC's and OS's. I have windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit, and Adobe reader 9.2 is hanging when we try to open web pages with .pdf files. We are using IE8 ( even Firefox with foxit is having a heart attack ! ) I am trying to uninstall version 9.2 with no success. It gets to one part of the uninstall and then gives me a message that other programs are using Reader, and it stops the uninstall. I have tried REPAIR, it does not help. Am I to assume that Adobe AIR and Adobe.com ALSO need to be uninstalled PRIOR to attempting to uninstall Reader 9.2?
Also, I feel that the present install of 9.2 is corrupted ( hence why I am trying to reload ) because when I open the Adobe Reader icon on the desktop, the black Adobe screen opens, but after about 6 seconds the Adobe screen goes white and there is a message in the top Adobe Reader bar stating that the program is not responding. ( Obviously something is missing in the install ) MS  UAC is set to OFF, so no security blocks there.
Q1 : How do I get Adobe Reader ver 9.2 to uninstall?
Q2: Will version 9.2 of Adobe Reader work on Windows 7 64 bit presently?
Thank you in advance for any kind assistance

To uninstall Adobe Reader, make sure (using Task Manager's Processes tab) that Adobe Reader is not running.  Browser windows should also be closed.
If you still cannot proceed, try in Safe Mode, or use the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.
P.S. Adobe AIR and Acrobat.com are not directly related to Adobe Reader, and can be uninstalled independently.

  • Adobe reader will not save notes

Hi.  I have an Acer A500 Icona Tab and am up-to-date with the latest o/s (4.0.3).  I have a need to view and edit .pdf documents (i.e. highlight and make notes) on my tablet.  I have downloaded the docs using Google Drive and am reading them with Adobe Reader (vers 10.2.1)  which works great and has a lot of nice features like highlighting and notes.  The only problem is that I can't figure out how to save those edits so that they are there next time I go in, as there does not appear to be a "save" button in the ap.  Also if I try to email the edited file I get a system error and the file does not attach to the email.  What I really want to be able to do is share these edited files between my tablet and my desktop.
I have also posted this question to the Acer forums.
    Gracias

Save happens automatically whenever you leave or try to email the document.  You may try “Share” option just besides “notes” icon from within Reader , which would have other options to share the pdf .  The reason for system error while emailing is something that Acer forums might help you with.
    Thanks,
    -vaibhav
