Adobe Reader X, Babylon 8.1 plug-in problem

I use the latest verison of Adobe Reader (X) and the Babylon plug-in don't work.
The "BabylonRPI" file is in this directory, but dont work:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\plug_ins\Babylon
Babylon plug-in doesnt listed in the "About Aobe Plug-Ins" menü in the reader UI
In the preferences of reader; uncheck the "Use only certified plug-ins" doesnt help.

I am using Adobe reader X , with babylon 9, I had the same problem, I unchecked "enable protection mode at startup" in adobe reader preferences and babylon is now working as desired! you'll find it in "general" section of preferences.

Do you have admin rights on your system? Can you uninstall other programs?
If yes and you still think you have downloaded wrong update, use windows cleanup utility to remove this installation. You can find cleanup utility  at several websites  eg.

  • Adobe Reader 9 and FileSite/Worksite plug

I am rolling out Adobe Reader 9 to my network, all pc's use XP Pro, SP2 or greater. The DM system is Interwoven's FileSite. I have the latest plug-in for Filesite / Reader 9
On 1 pc with XP SP3, I have installed Reader without any problems, but as soon as I copy the Interwoven plugin to the plugin folder and then try to open adobe reader 9, it produces an error.
All other computers with XP-sp2 or XP-sp3 have worked fine
I have unistalled all adobe products and cleaned the registry, deleted all adobe folders and rebooted the PC. Reinstalled Reader 9 and it worked fine and then when I inserted the FileSite plugin, hey presto error re-appears. I can only assume that there is a bug in the plug-in?
    The error reads as follows
    CreateOnlineAppModeWindow:Missing context item
    ImanExt.AppMode.AppName
    Hope somebody can help
    Thanks in advance
    Dax.

After speaking with Interwoven support, they can either send the DLL file (imanacrobatres.dll), OR you can just uninstall FileSite and then re-install with a custom installation and make sure to check the Adobe Acrobat support option. That too will put the file in place for you.

  • Adobe Reader XI and Firefox 17.0.1 problems saving multiple PDFs

    Hello,
I am running Adobe Reader XI (the most recent version as of my writing this), Firefox 17.0.1, and Windows 7 SP1.  I am trying to save multiple PDFs but I am only able to save one at a time before having to restart firefox.  Here is the chain of events:
I open a PDF in a new browser window
I click "Save" on the toolbar
I select the location and save my new PDF
I close the window and return to open an additional PDF
The PDF opens in a new window
I click the save button (see step 2)
The button is present and animates when I click
Nothing else happens (i.e., no prompt to select the save file location)
    I get upset
    I restart firefox
Repeat steps 1-10 for additional PDFs
I have a whole bunch of class lectures in PDF that I would like to save so I can study offline.  Please Help!
    Thanks,
    T

I just tried this (Reader XI & Firefox 17.0.1), opening PDFs
in the same tab as the link
    in a new tab
    in a new window
all had no problem with saving; the explorer windows opened each time in My Documents folder.  I do not know why this does not work for you.
Suggestion: if you have links to these online PDFs, right-click on the link, then select 'Save link as...'; that is anyway quicker than opening and saving the files.

  • Internet Explorer 8 with Adobe Reader 11 in one package - embedded PDF problem

    Hello,
I am trying to package Internet Explorer 8 together with Adobe Reader 11 in ThinApp 5 for Windows 7. I am capturing on clean Windows XP with IE6. Of course, I am using "IEShims.dll" for IE8 in order to make it work in ThinApp.
From the first look everything is ok, both application could be launched, but there are several issues:
    1) When I try to open embedded PDF file, IE hangs and loses response. I have found workaround for this: Adobe Reader should be opened at least 1 time before opening embedded PDF files. But I have found 2nd issue.
    2) Print button does not work. When I try to print embedded PDF from Adobe Reader instance, it does not work. Documents could be printed from virtual IE8 and from separate instance of Adobe Reader.
What could you advise me? Are there any "small" tricks and tweaks that may help me with this?
    Thank you in advance!

Have you tried capturing these application in separate packages?  I have been successful in capturing IE8 in one package and Adobe Reader XI in another package and then using the OptionalAppLinks option in the IE8 package to point to the Adobe Reader dat file.  Just make sure that both packages work outside of the applinking.  Also, you can try to install Adobe to the native machine and see if the embedded pdfs work in the virtual IE package.
These are just the troubleshooting steps that I would take to narrow down what is causing the issue you are seeing.

  • I suddenly can not open pdf files. I have had Adobe Reader Xl and just ran into this problem

I have had adobe reader xl for some time and suddenly can not open a pdf file. I received an email yesterday with a pdf attachment which I can not open. What could be my problem?

Hi Pat, My operating system is Windows 7, Home Premium Service Pack 1. My email client (email Provider is Cox Communications - Cox.net).
Can not in my post means I tried to open a pdf attachment to a email. I received  nothing happens. I do not get a blank screen or any messages. Nothing Nothing happens at all. I can click several times and get no response.
I did discover that by clicking on the Adobe Icon on my deskt topi get an Adobe box containing  "Do you want to allow changes to your computer. I click Yes and get to my computer where I can find the above mentoned attachment which I think I had previously saved. I then get the attachment whick I can print. This may be printing from my hard drive - I am not sure. I think I could go through this procedure every time I want to open a atachment but it seems a long way around.
Any help you can give me would be appreciated. I have thought about removing Adobe and reinstalling. Maybe there is a corruption to my Adobe file.

  • Adobe Reader X - 64 Bit Windows 7 compatibility Problem?

On a 2 mo. old HP computer I recently removed all files related to trial Norton software and installed free AVIRA software. Now, pdf documents cannot be viewed at web sites. AVIRA scan reports two findings; WARNING: unsupported Archive Version AcroRd 32.exe and WARNING: Program File (x86)\Kobo\libzip-Vc9.dll Archive Header is damaged. I do think that there is an incompatibility between 32. exe and the Windows 7 64 bit program but unsure if the second warning is connected. Re downloading Adobe Reader X had not corrected this. My computer knowledge is very weak. What needs to be done? Thank you, WmRM.

Nah, this sounds like Norton has damaged your file handlers and messed with your DLLs. The long and short answer is, that you need/ should seriously consider reinstalling your operating system from scratch. Such issues have a way of being sticky like dog pooh and anything you could do without a reinstall is only even more convoluted...

  • Adobe Reader X 10.1.4 save/print problem

I have been unable to save or print PDF's for several days using Adobe Reader X 10.1.4 on Windows 7. The PDF loads and the grey bar appears but it disappears after 1 or 2 secs. even if I click on the save or print icon.  I have uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted, & cleaned my cache.  I have tried several PDF's from different sources including those I had success with last week so I don't believe it is the author blocking it. Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

  • Adobe Reader plug-in for Safari can't find Adobe Reader

I keep Adobe Reader.app in Applications/Local-A/PDF Software.  When I try to open a PDF in Safari (5.0.3), the plug-in can't find the reader.  I have to point it there each time I open Safari.  I would have thought it would know where to look after the first time, but it doesn't.  How do I permanently tell the plug-in where to look?

    Hi,
Default install of Adobe Reader X package has Browser plug-in checked for install. Did you customize your installation and unchecked this option which indicates you dont want to install browser plug-in. Other possibility could be that you are using both Reader 9 and Reader X in your system and after Reader X install, you have updated Reader 9 assuming updating 9.4.0 to 9.4.1. This will change the plug-in version back to 9.4.1 (latest update).
One way to have version X is rerun Reader X installer and it will repair your plug-in to version 10.0.0. As an advise do not use both Reader 9 and Reader X in same system (though this is possible). You can simply delete version 9 application and continue working with Reader X installed.
Secondly to answer your question that Safari keeps on asking to choose Reader application, what you can do is  open com.adobe.acrobat.pdfviewer.plist in /Library/Preferences in any plist viewer. It should have a key - WebBrowserUsePath. This should be pointing to correct reader application on your system. Normally its value is something like - file://localhost/Applications/Adobe%20Reader.app/
In your case you have moved Adobe Reader.app to /Applications/Local-A/PDF Software/Adobe Reader.app
So change the value of this key to point to correct application. Here it should be - file://localhost/Applications/Local-A/PDF%20Software/Adobe%20Reader.app/
This will ensure that Safari does not prompt you again.
    Thanks,
    Karan

I create a plug-in for Adobe Reader, but after 5 seconds by Adobe Reader loaded my plug-in,  the Adobe Reader will prompt "Invalid plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit", and then the Adobe Reader will be disabled.
what's the problem? what should I do?

    Yes, I read this section.

Visit the Adobe web site and fill out an Adobe Reader Integration Key License Agreement. There is a fee involved. The Adobe Reader Integration Key Licensing Agreement can only be submitted as a web form. Information can be found at http://www.adobe.com/go/acrobat_developer.
Once your Adobe Reader Integration Key Licensing Agreement is approved, you will receive a contract package that includes your contract number and other information that is unique to you.

  • Adobe Reader plug in

I cannot get the Adobe Reader to be an installed plug in on my Safari. I have downloaded the plug in like it says to and yet the website still says that the plug in is missing! I have the latest version of Safari and the Lion software. Help!!

I found this in the archives:

You need to disable the Adobe PDF viewer from the internet plug in folder to restore the Safari/Preview link"
I wonder if this would allow me to view my statement in Safari? When I applied the fix and viewed it in FireFox, it actually opened in Preview even though the page said I needed Adobe Reader. Is it possible that I don't need Adobe Reader at all? And if I delete it along with its plugin, what would happen with FireFox?

  • Mozila Firefox is always asking me to click to activate and use plug-ins like Adobe Reader, Flash, Youtube videos and other plug-ins which it never did before.

I am using Mozilla Firefox and it is now bugging me. After updating it, it is now asking me to always click to activate and use plug-ins like Adobe Reader, Flash, Youtube videosand other plug-ins. I click on activiate all plug-ins but it still asks me to do it each time that I try to use Flash, Adobe Reader, watch a You Tube Video or anything. Why won't Mozilla Firefox automatically actaivate the plug-ins like it used to do. I tried to follow directions on our website for fixing this but it did not work. I am running
Windows XP. Please let me know how to fix this. Thank you.

In the past, to protect you from [https://support.mozilla.org/kb/use-plugins-play-audio-video-games plugins] that have stability or security issues, Firefox could only turn off the problematic plugin. Now Firefox can prevent the plugin from running automatically (which prevents many issues) and then let you choose to run or update the plugin. See [[Why do I have to click to activate plugins?]] for more info.
If you'd like to Disable Firefox's Click-to-Play feature,
    # Type ''about:config'' in the address bar and press Enter.
    # Press the big button to bypass the warning.
    # In the search box, paste ''plugins.click_to_play''
    # In the search results, double-click ''plugins.click_to_play'' to set its value to '''false'''

  • Adobe Reader 8.0 plug ins and RAM-Heigth

    Hello,
we use Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.0 to fill out Interactive Forms.
Now we have the problem, that the Reader needs until a minute to start and load the interacive Form.
    We have two Quetstions:
    1. we want to reduce the plugins of the Reader 8.0, which plugins are necessary for using Interacive Forms?
    2. After loading the Interactive Form the RAM for AcroRd32.exe increases from 32 MB to 112 MB - what is the cause?
    Best regards
    Oliver Prodnger

    Hi Oliver,
Does it also take about a minute to load the form with Adobe Reader 7.0.9? We had (actually still have) performance problems as of Adobe Reader 8.x if the (rather complex) form contains a few of these lines: xfa.host.resetData. It takes about 6 seconds to execute this statement, which is bad if you execute it 80 times in a loop This doesn't cause any problems with Adobe Reader 7.0.9.
If you use dynamic forms, there are issues with Adobe Reader 8.0, Reader 8.1 which was released yesterday is supposed to solve them (but not our specific performance problem).
BTW, I assume it's not due to a large form that takes a long time to download from the server or takes a long time to render on the server? Does it also take a minute to open the same file offline?
Concerning the memory load, I'm afraid that's normal, even with relatively small and simple forms (and a lot of javascript in dynamic forms has a negative impact too). But Adobe Reader 7.0.9 has the same problem...
    Kind regards,
    Sigiswald

  • Since I have Yosemite on my iMac I can't view PDF files in Safari anymore.  It keeps telling me to upgrade my Adobe Reader, but it is the latest version.  Please help?  I don't have this problem on my Macbook that does not have Yosemite installed.

Since I have Yosemite on my iMac I can't view PDF files in Safari anymore.  It keeps telling me to upgrade my Adobe Reader, but it is the latest version.  Please help?  I don't have this problem on my Macbook that does not have Yosemite installed.

Back up all data before making any changes. Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, and the problem is just that you can't print or save PDF's displayed in Safari, you may be able to do so by moving the cursor to the the bottom edge of the page, somewhere near the middle. A black toolbar should appear under the cursor. Click the printer or disk icon.
    Step 2
There should be a setting in its preferences of the Adobe application such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected.
    Step 3
If you get a message such as ""Adobe Reader blocked for this website," then from the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
    and check the box marked
              Allow Plug-ins
    Then click
              Manage Website Settings...
and make any required changes to the security settings for the Adobe PDF plugin.
    Step 4
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens by pressing command-V, then press return.
From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari.
    Step 5
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others—I don't have a complete list. Don't remove Silverlight if you use the "Netflix" video-streaming service.
    Step 6
Do as in Step 4 with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari.
