Adobe Reader X: drag & drop maximized window

Hi,
I have a big problem with Adobe Reader X (latest version 10.1.2)
I can't drag and drop the maximized window to another (extended) desktop/monitor (I grab it with a left click on the windowbar and pull it to an extended monitor but nothing happens)
Can somebody verify this behavior?
I would really apprechiate any help...

I need to do a simple edit of a pdf. I've been editing pdfs using nothing but the free Adobe reader for years. Now I got a new laptop - 64 bit Windows 8 and I installed the current reader. I need the Adobe reader for other programs I work with. I have noticed that the adobe reader is slow to open and constantly says "not responding." I also cannot get it to respond so that I can fill in a form (i.e., a basic edit), which I could always do. Please tell me how to fix this!

I figured it out! I have Adobe Reader XI on my desktop. I opened it up. I went to Edit/Preferences/Security (Enhanced) and disabled the "Protected Mode at startup." My Adobe pdfs now respond and I can edit them without issue.

Do you have Adobe Reader Touch for Windows 8? Or Adobe Reader XI for Windows desktop?

Adobe reader destroy all. Fx windows, mail, explorer and google chrome. These Ikons changes to a Ikon from adobe reader with PDF written on it

I have had pleasure of Adobe many years, but all of a sudden want to Adobe Reader does not work with Windows Live Mail, explorer, and Google Chrome.
Adobe Reader change all the aforementioned icons to an Adobe Reader icon,on which it is written PDF. I cannot open a browser, read mail or use windows.
I have removed and installed Adobe Reader many times. But nothing helps.
I have been using Norton. norton has remotely Removed and installed Adobe Reader consult the general remotely. But it changed nothing. Norton has never seen this problem before, so they asked me to contact Adobe.
What do I do now ?

Macintosh HD > Library > Internet Plug-ins
Look for these two files.
AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
AdobePDFViewer.plugin
Right click on those and select “Move To Trash”.
Restart the computer.

Adobe Reader Won't Download On Windows 7

Worked ok on Vista, After
installing Windows 7 (Clean & Install) Adobe Reader won't install on windows 7, goes through the process says 100% installation complete, then nothing. Any ideas.

I havent faced this issue as such on my WIN 7 OS. Worked fine for me.
You might be able to find the cause behind the problem by creating the error log for the installer, using the following commandline switch:
AdbeRdr933_en_US.exe /l
the "\l" switch will create an error log (if any) in the temp directory. (%temp% \ BootStrap.log)
If you can share the log details, it may help in deciphering what exactly is the root cause behind your problem.

seit Einsatz von Adobe Reader X ist es nicht mehr möglich via "drag and drop" Text oder andere Daten von einem PDF-Dokument nach z.B. Word, Excel zu ziehen/kopieren. ist das so gewollt? gibt es eine Möglichkeit (z.B. Regkey) dass "drag and drop" wieder möglich?

Windows Storage Server 2008 - unzip with drag & drop from Windows 7 client fails

Hello.
As i asked this question in German and got no answer so i try it in English now.
I have the following problem:
We have a Windows SBS 2008, where we store our files. If somebody opens a ZIP-file on a network share from a Windows 7 Client (64 Bit) it is possible to drag & drop the content (multiple files) to a directory. So far everything works as expected.
We now have an additional Windows Storage Server 2008 integrated in our domain (Buffalo Tera Station WS-QV8/R5), where we also store files. If somebody opens the same ZIP-file on a network share of this server from a Windows 7 Client and tries to drag &
drop the content the following happens:
1. only one file is extracted and to display the file a refresh of the explorer view is needed.
2. when the drag & drop action is repeated a second file is extracted
Not alle files are extracted and there is no error message or indication why this happens.
The behaviour is reproducible from another Windows 7 Client (32 Bit).
If we try to drag & drop the files from the ZIP-file on the Windows Storage Server network sahre to a directory on the SBS network share all files are extracted correctly.
On the Windows Storage Server itself all files are extracted without problmems. Therefore it must be a problem with the combination of Windows Storage Server und Windows 7 Client accessing the files via network shares.
Are there any ideas where this problem could be located? Has anybody the same phenomenon and maybe a solution for it?

Adobe Reader doesn't work after windows 7 update

Hello,
My Adobe Reader X was working fine, until one night where Windows 7 automatically updated, and after that Adobe Reader doesn't work anymore. It doesn't respond AT ALL when I click on it, and I cannot view PDF files anymore.
I uninstalled it, and re-installed it --- still doesn't work. I tried downloading version 9, but still it doesn't work.
I also tried to do system restore, but somehow it won't let me --- it says it failed to do so.
When I try to open PDF files in IE 10, it says "There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader..." and an error code of 103:103.
Could anyone help me?

and then again install latest Reader from

How do I install Adobe Reader 9.3 on a Windows Vista Toshiba Laptop?

I have been trying to download Adobe Reader 9.3 onto my laptop without success. I have a Toshiba A135 laptop. I have tried using Windows Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 3.5.9. I am currently getting a message "get Plus + (R)" "The process terminated unexpectedly" when I click to download.
Earlier it was letting me start to download and I would get a runtime error
"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" "The application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way, please contact the application's support team for more information."
Then, "Adobe Backstrapper for single installation has stopped working, windows can check online for a solution" which doesn't give me any solutions.
I installed Windows Install Cleanup and have also uninstalled Adobe Reader 8.x entirely. I uninstalled the download manager once, but I can't uninstall it again from the programs page.
I still can't download this version of Adobe, what can I do?

Adobe air or adobe reader 9.4 install on windows 7 64 bit corrupt all file associations.

when i install adobe reader on windows 7 64 bit all file types try to go to adobe when selected. msoffice,.exe, photosop, ...
the only item i can open is a pdf. when i unintall reader, everything goes back to normal

Adobe Reader 11.0.03 and Windows 8

Hello,
I am getting the error "cannot find or create the font 'Arial'. Some Characters may not display or print correctly" in Adobe Reader 11.0.03. If I click thru the error, the pdf is fine and perfectly readable and doesn't appear again. Also, my co-workers can download/open the same pdf's from the same source and get no errors at all. If I forward the pdf that I received the error with, the person who received the pdf in question doesn't get the error. It is random, it doesn't happen with all pdf's, but enough to cause concern. I have uninstalled/re-installed Adobe Reader 11.0.03, and done a repair. The font in question is installed. I even downloaded/installed the Arial font from an installation CD of Windows 8 in case mine were corrupted somehow. Some backround information:
Windows 8 on a tablet PC running a Corporate image
Adobe Reader 11.0.03
This image is the standard for my company and is the exact same on every tablet that is deployed within the company. Yet, to my knowledge, I am the only one receiving this error. I do not want to have this tablet re-imaged and don't believe it should be necessary.
Any and all help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Adobe Reader is causing problems in Windows 7

Good morning all,
I have been doing some digging on this one and have had no joy so far. We are deploying Windows 7 in our office and I have one user, and only one who is having problems.
They had Adobe Reader X installed and they began to have problems with it after they were upgraded to WIN 7. When they went to print a PDF it started to lock their PC for 3-5 minutes after which they were able to continue with their work.
This behavior is internmittent in that it does not happen with every PDF and typically only happens once a day. Some times it is the first PDF of the day, sometimes in the middle of the day, but once it happens it does not happen again in the same day. Sometimes the user does not experience the problem for several days. We have been unsuccessful in determining any pattern or any particular in which this users machine is environmentally different from any other users machine.
No other users are experiencing this problem.
The user has a laptop and shuts it down to take home each night and starts the box fresh in the office each day.
Lately this behavior has extended to when the user just opens a PDF. Their laptop will freeze for 3-5 minutes and then they can continue with their work.
Based upon a very few articles we have found on the subject, we have tried a couple of things without success:
We have tried clearing the Adobe Reader cache
We have uninstalled Reader X and replaced it with Reader 9x
We are hoping that someone out there who has seen something like this before and can suggest some environmental or proceedural thing that we have missed. This one is driving us crazy.

Unresolved bug in adobe reader x with non-default windows zoom level

I am using Windows 7 Professional 64-bit with Firefox 12.0 and Adobe Reader 10.1.3. Here is a description of the problem:
Whenever I open any PDF file in a browser (firefox or IE) using the adobe reader I am unable to select text, save the file or interact with the content in any meaningful way because the plugin does not recognise my cursor position. If I click on some text in a PDF document, the reader will immediately highlight a region of text between where I clicked and where it thinks I started clicking from (above 20% of the screen above and to the left of where I actually clicked on the page). If I roll my mouse over the region where the dashboard normally appears, the dash does appear as intended and the cursor changes in response to hover over buttons, as if everything were working, but I am unable to click on anything (clicking does nothing). If I click and hold the dashboard when it appears, it immediately jumps to another region of the page, as if it thinks I moved the mouse (20% up and to the left again). I have recently reformatted and am now using a fresh install, and the issue remains. My desktop zoom level in windows is 150%. The problem appears only inside the browser; viewing PDFs directly in Acrobat Reader X works without issue.
I can resolve the problem either of two ways:
a) Reverting back to the default windows zoom level (125%).
b) right-clicking on the Adobe Reader X icon, navigating to the compatibility tab and clicking "Disable Display Scaling on high DPI settings"
The workaround is easy but it's disappointing that adobe hasn't fixed this. Please consider that it would mostly affect individuals who are vision impaired and might not have the know-how to resolve the problem or check for solutions online, let alone post comments such as this. As far as I can tell this problem severely impaires the functionality of adobe in any browser on any non-standard zoom windows installation.
