Adobe Reader X printer dialog switched to default Windows printer

Tried Adobe Reader X and when I tried to print to our desktop fax printer name it just printed to my default Windows XP printer instead of going to the desktop fax printer dialog. I reinstalled Adobe Reader 9 then.

We don't have that functionality in the Acrobat Family. InDesign uses the print system from Creative Suite, Acrobat and Adobe Reader do not.

For printing both sides, you might also need to enable 'printing on both sides' option in Reader print dialog box.
Please do the same and then print your PDF.

With ADOBE READER 10.1.2 I have problem to print 2-side of paper. The same document(s) print correctly with option 1-side. With option 2-side it print only last page, aditionally without any adjustement, just cut a half of last line. Even I want to reinstall previous version (10.1.1) but I cannot to find it.

Adobe Reader XI moves to background (loses focus) after printing

I have noticed that if another window is open (windowed or maximized) and you print from Adobe Reader (windowed or maximized) then as soon as you send the doc to the printer, the other window will suddenly be in front of your adobe reader window and you will have to click the Adobe icon at the bottom to bring it to the front again.
It's sort of minor but annoying for some people here and I was wondering is anyone else noticing this and does anyone have an idea how to stop the window from jumping to the back as soon as you print?
Please help me!!!!!

Thanks for your response. I found the problem 1/2hr after posting my question. It had to do with the setting after hitting the print que. After installing the Adobe Reader XI the setting for destination in the print window change to save as PDF. Before it was set to my default printer. I never knew that there was other places for these documents could go. Never had to use them either.

First order of priority - Establish what platform is in use. In this case: MacBook Air with Trac Pad, no Mouse.
Second - Establish Operating System in use. In this case: OX 10.8.3.
Third - Establish, as best as you are able, the parameters in which you have been attempting a work-around and, to include mention of, any other secondary software program capable of becoming a default other than, in this case, Preview.
Fourth - State the problem: Adobe Reader somehow automatically has become the Default PDF viewer.
Here's my answer: When a trac pad not a mouse is in use - Select the PDF you will be opening; don't open it, Select it. At this juncture, tap COMMAND - I (Unfortunately Apple has no Drop Down Menu motion to achieve this operation that I can determine); at this point you will get this:
Click on "Open with: " If you see Adobe Reader there in lies the problem. So, simply click the "up/down" arrows on the Selection Window, and from there click on Preview. From there on Preview will be your Default program.

I saw this somewhere back under Tiger, but I can't remember where.
I need to know the terminal command to make the expanded print dialog box the default. I'm getting tired of clicking the blue arrow to expand the box.
If anyone can direct me, I'd sure appreciate the help!

By what kind of security I meant what is allowed and what is not allowed under the security tab that I mentioned in my last post?
You can look at that and see if it restricts what you are trying to do. If it does then yes, you need a version of Acrobat (and the password of course) to change it.

Printing from FLASH without "Print dialog Box" Pop-up window?

hi guys,
i got a flash + OSX question, maybe someone can help me,
i'm working on a Adobe Flash (Flash version 9, actionScript
3) project, running on a MacOS X 10.4, on a core2duo iMac, it is
connected to a printer (Xerox Phaser 6360).
- the flash will be displayed in full screen.
- it is a "create your own postcard- &- print it out"
flash-based multimedia project.
- so Flash will need to print stuff.
issue is:
- everytime when something need to be printed, macOS X will
prompt a "Print Box" pop-up window say Cancel or Print (see my jpeg
below).
- so it might overlap on top of my Flash project, which is
running full screen (so having the pop-up window overlapping my
flash is no good).
so i need a solution to avoid this, any idea?
what i can think of are:
A- is there a way to avoid/by-pass this step? meaning a way
not to show this?
or
B- or is there a shareware/way to "auto-click RETURN button"
so even this screen appear it will be "auto-click" away.
or ..C?
i knew there is a Plug-in (or Xtra) for Macromedia Director
called: Print-o-matic,

Print dialog crashes when selecting shared printer

I have an HP laserjet 1012 installed on a G4 Mac Mini, which shares that printer with the rest of the network. Printing to it from the other G4 mini in the house works fine.
BUT
When I try to select it to print to in the print dialog on my macbook, the print dialog and printing application crash. This happens 100% of the time with firefox (actually deer park universal binary) and preview, although I have occasionally been able to print successfully from word and camino.
Both machines are updated with 10.4.6.

Macbook Pro and G4 mini Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Well, I finally got a chance to look at this problem again.
Sure enough, the g4 mini (that the printer is attached to) has driver 1.4.5 and the macbook pro has 2.0. hp's website doesn't have a more current driver (it just tells you it's included with current OS X releases), but I stuck the macbook pro's install CD into the mini, ran the "install additional software" and installed the hp printer drivers from that disk.
Now the mini can't print to the printer itself. It says it's trying, and then the printer queue just displays "jobs stopped."
Any ideas how to fix it?

Print dialog options missing on networked print- advice?

Hi everyone,
I am using a small LAN network of three macs.When I try and print to a printer that is plugged into another mac I am missing options from the OS print dialog that appear when the printer is plugged in directly. The items missing are from the drop down box that defaults to "layout"
missing are:
print settings
expansion
extension collections
paper configuration
roll paper options
or simply have a visual reference

thanks for your response. in answer to your question it is the epson r2400. If i plug the printer into my mac i get the full dialog, as I would when i print on the g5 (where it is normally plugged in). This would suggest that there are correct drivers on both macs for printing directly.
On my mac in the print dialog i can select two "different" printers
Epson Stylus Photo R2400
or
Epson Stylus Photo (g5) @ studio g5
(think the last bit (studio g5) is correct am not in front of that mac right now)
The first one only works when the printer is directly plugged in, the second one only when networked, and then doesn't give the full options, as aper the subject line.

I can no longer print to the 3 Canon printers on my local area network. The print dialog box states that the print file is accepted and the job is printing, but the files never print. Everything worked when the computer and printers were initially set up.

I can't help with the scan/print problem. You seem to have done everything I would try.
I don't know if maybe using a registry cleaner would help.

How to install Adobe reader XI 11.0.0.9 on windows XP

I want to run Adobe reader XI 11.0.0.9 on windows xp and access cloud file server on Acrobat.com. But failed.
When I tried to open the files on Acrobat.com, but there is any respones.
However, 11.0.0.9 works well on Win7. I want to know how to configure 11.0.0.9 on XP to work well. Thanks.

Adobe Reader X can only save reader-enabled forms. Adobe Reader XI can save all forms.

Firefox tells me that I need to update my Adobe Reader. I have 11.0.84. I recently learned that the most recent version of Adobe Reader is 11.0.10. When I try to do a download, the version 11.0.10 is not provided. I am wondering since I have Windows XP, does that mean I can no longer get the latest version of Adobe Reader on my computer? I am so glad to hear from you. I wanted a trusted source for a download. I saw something online "Oldapps.com" or a name like it and you click and it just starts downloading and I got nervous so I got out of it. I like to see what I'm downloading.
With the link you provided I need the Norton Anti-Virus UNCHECKED because I have ESET NOD32 antivirus on my computer.
Do you know if the Norton Anti-Virus is unchecked in your link? I will await further word from you before doing the downloading.

What verion of adobe reader is compatible with IE 8 on windows xp

There is a document we generate from our website, recently updated adobe and now the documents display blank pages. So just want to find out which version of adobe reader is compatible with IE 8 on windows xp

Reader 10.1.8 and 11.0.4 work perfectly fine on Windows XP SP3.
