Adobe Reader X shows error on start up - Windows 7 x64 w/ Mount Points

I recently added an SSD to my system to use as the system/boot drive.  I have my "Users" directory, my "ProgramData" directory mounted on a larger conventional hard drive using windows mount points.
I have installed the OS from scratch, and then installed Adobe Reader X.  When I try to open it, I get an alert that says "an internal error has occurred."  I get this message if I try to double click on a PDF file, or opening Adobe Reader X directly.
The most recent version of adobe reader 9.x works fine with this setup.
Has anyone successfully run Adobe Reader X using mount points?
Thanks,
Scott

  • Adobe Reader DC has errors and crashes with Windows Server 2012 R2

We recently installed Adobe Reader DC version of Adobe on our Windows Server 2012 R2 servers and are having issues since the launch. Few of the issues we have seen are as follows:
This version is a bit clunky and hangs.
Has a lot of pop-up boxes that appears each time I open a document.
Each time I open a document there is a Welcome pop-up box
It is a bit slow to respond between clicks
If I click on any options like File. The application hangs and then crashes. (see attached crash message)
Any help to resolve this would be helpful.
    Thank you

I just had the same issue on a 2012 R2 Remote Desktop server. I fixed it by creating a registry key called Privileged under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC and then creating a DWORD value in that key called bProtectedMode and setting the value to 0. This was on a brand-new server that never had a previous version of any Adobe software on it.
This is a major kludge. Hopefully Adobe will fix it soon. By the way, here's the crash signature we were getting:

    Hi Simon,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble logging in to ExportPDF via Reader. I've checked your account, and all is well there.
For starters, please make sure that you have the most current version of Reader installed by choosing Help > Check for Updates.
If you're still having trouble logging in via Reader, please try logging in to the web interface at https://cloud.acrobat.com.
Please let us know how it goes.

    Hi,
I would suggest you to uninstall Adobe Reader using the cleaner tool and then re-install the latest version.
Adobe Cleaner Tool:- Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs.

If you haved tried all the fixes and suggestions, there is not much to add. Just in case: did you really try using this tool http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html to first eliminate all traces of Reader, and then use the full offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/?

  • "Adobe reader cannot show docs i n this configuration" message when trying to access certain docs

How can I access all docs like I can using Safari instead of getting the perpetual message"Adobe Reader cannot show documents in this browser configuration."?

Please update the firefox to the latest version, firefox uses inbuild pdf reader.
In order to change the default reader for PDF files (to not open PDF files with Firefox's internal PDF reader), follow these steps:
#Go to ''Tools'' > ''Options'' (or ''Firefox'' > ''Options'').
#In the Options window, select the ''Applications'' tab.
#In the ''Search'' field, type ''PDF''. You should find ''Portable Document Format (PDF)''.
#On the right handside you should find an ''Action'' column. Use that to select your favorite PDF reader. In order to view PDF files in Firefox, choose ''Preview in Firefox''.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Adobe Edge Animate CC don't start in Windows 8.1

Adobe Edge Animate CC does not start in Windows 8.1. I click on the application and the cursor stays in loop. I have tried to uninstall to reinstall it and will not let me. If they know of any similar error and resolve it I would like to help me, thanks.

Are you running the Spanish version of Win 8.1, Conisus?
Have you tried resetting preferences (http://adobe.ly/Ty949V), disable any third party plug-ins and/or launch the software in a new user account with admin rights? http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-system-errors-freezes-windows.html# main_Common_solutions
If the basic troubleshooting steps don't work, would you mind to gather a copy of the crash log, paste it into http://pastebin.com and share the url? You should be able to locate the log by launching the Event viewer and search for the application crash logs of Illustrator.exe. Thanks!

  • Adobe Reader 9.3.1 prints incorrectly in Windows 7 x64 - HELP

Adobe Reader 9.3.1 PDF document pages at half size and rotated 90 degrees.  If I set "Print as Image" under the Advanced print options, it does print correctly, although the resolution isn't very good.  This happens on several documents (stand alone files and from Internet Explorer both).  I am running Windows 7 64 bit.
On my Vista 32 bit system, Adobe Reader 9.3.1 prints the same documents correctly on the same printer.
Has anyone heard of this problem?  Is there a solution?

I have some of the same problem
with my Windows 7 64 bit computer. I
get an error when sending a document to
the PDF veiwer and am told to shut down
Adobe Reader.  Is there a download to
correct this problem?  Adobe Reader 9.3.1
works fine with Windows XP on my 32 bit
    computer.

  • After installing Adobe Reader XI 11.0.09 on my Windows 7 x64 operating system it will not print pdf documents

After installing Adobe Reader XI 11.0.09 on my Windows 7 x64 operating system, I attempted to print and existing pdf document to my Brothers MFC-J4510DW printer I received error message indicating that no pages where selected (I selected print all pages).

    Hi satsugyo1,
For printing both sides, you might also need to enable 'printing on both sides' option in Reader print dialog box.
Please do the same and then print your PDF.
Let me know how it goes.
    Regards,
    Anubha

  • Can Adobe Reader 11.0.10 be downloaded to Windows XP?

Firefox tells me that I need to update my Adobe Reader.  I have 11.0.84.  I recently learned that the most recent version of Adobe Reader is 11.0.10.  When I try to do a download, the version 11.0.10 is not provided.  I am wondering since I have Windows XP, does that mean I can no longer get the latest version of Adobe Reader on my computer?  Please advise.  Thank you.

    Hi Pwillener,
I am so glad to hear from you.  I wanted a trusted source for a download.  I saw something online "Oldapps.com" or a name like it and you click and it just starts downloading and I got nervous so I got out of it.  I like to see what I'm downloading.
With the link you provided I need the Norton Anti-Virus UNCHECKED because I have ESET NOD32 antivirus on my computer.
Do you know if the Norton Anti-Virus is unchecked in your link?  I will await further word from you before doing the downloading.
Thank you so much.  I imagine that this 11.0.10 will be the last one that can be downloaded to a Windows XP computer.
Thank you again for all of your wonderful meaningful help!
