Adobe Reader XI 11.0.06 - launching this takes 5 seconds while other users are instant or 1 second.  Need troubleshooting tips or idea's

It was at 6 to 10 seconds but I unchecked Enable Prtoected Mode at startup and unchecked Enable Enhanced Security.
Looking for more idea's / suggestions to getting this to open instant / 1 second.
Impacting several users.
Win 7 Enterprise SP 1
Intel i5 1.60 GHz
64-bit OS

Thank you for the response, I have tested just clicking on Adobe Reader XI version 11.0.07 and it is launching in 4 to 6 seconds.
While I do see some improvement I'm still at a loss of why some users can instantly launch this application in (1 second or less) with the same hardware and I have several users still at a 4 seconds.
I am going to log in as admin and stop some of our services and other background apps and test launching.

I have just downloaded Adobe Reader but am unable to launch documents as 'license agreement' must first be 'Agreed" ??  Where can I do this?

Assuming you're on a Mac, you launch Adobe Reader like any other app, from Applications. If there is more than one Adobe Reader shown, start and quit each one in turn.

    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • I'm having the same buffering issues that other users are having when I try to send a short video from my Iphone 4S to my Apple TV.  Has anyone heard back from Apple on this bug ?

I'm having the same buffering issues that other users are having when I try to stream a short video from my Iphone 4S to my Apple TV
Has anyone heard back from Apple on this bug ?

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    Restart your mobile device.

  • Photoshop CS, Dreamweaver 8, Adobe Reader all suddenly failing to launch.

The icon bounces once, then the little triangle disappears. This problem started around August 24th. This is on an eMac (PPC). No new software of any kind has been installed on this mac, and in fact the only changes to the system were automatic updates from Apple.
No apple-branded applications have been affected (eg. mail, safari, preview all still launch fine).
This is making me leery of automatic updates. Can I trust Apple not to bork my machine after this?
    Somebody, please help! Thanks.

Reinstalling Adobe Reader fixed Adobe Reader.
Reinstalling Dreamweaver 8 did not fix Dreamweaver 8, I tried getting rid of all the different preferences folders and files, and still Dreamweaver 8 will not launch even after it is reinstalled.
Why would all my Adobe apps suddenly not work?

I get the same message when I try to open a pdf attachment in my free AOL e-mail account. This problem just started today for some unknown reason. I have Adobe Reader 9 and never had a problem before. If I forward e-mails with a pdf attachment to my Road Runner account, I can open it with no problem. I can't seem to find any answers to this problem. Frustrating! HELP!!!

  • I am having trouble running the latest version of adobe reader 10 how can i resolve this

i am having trouble running the latest version of adobe reader 10. i have adobe 9 which is fine but i'm not able to do certain things on certain sites without 10. how can i resolve this?

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • "Adobe reader cannot show docs i n this configuration" message when trying to access certain docs

How can I access all docs like I can using Safari instead of getting the perpetual message"Adobe Reader cannot show documents in this browser configuration."?

Please update the firefox to the latest version, firefox uses inbuild pdf reader.
In order to change the default reader for PDF files (to not open PDF files with Firefox's internal PDF reader), follow these steps:
#Go to ''Tools'' > ''Options'' (or ''Firefox'' > ''Options'').
#In the Options window, select the ''Applications'' tab.
#In the ''Search'' field, type ''PDF''. You should find ''Portable Document Format (PDF)''.
#On the right handside you should find an ''Action'' column. Use that to select your favorite PDF reader. In order to view PDF files in Firefox, choose ''Preview in Firefox''.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Adobe Reader becomes unresponsive when loading a PDF on a network with redirected user data.

I have a client with redirected user data, including application data, that is experiencing poor performance of Adobe Reader when trying to view PDF's. They are not using roaming profiles but do have redirected user data and documents on a server. One of the client's sites has direct file access to the domain with a small network pipe of 20MB. I expect the slow load of the PDF's but not the actual "application is unresponsive" behavior. If you wait for 10-15 minutes, then it seems to behave okay.
I know that previous versions of adobe reader had problems with redirected data. Here are a couple of the threads I found talking about this issue.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/754379
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/391738
Does anyone know the official adobe word on their minimum recommended bandwidth requirements for redirected data? Do they not support redirection at all? I have tested Adobe 9,10 and 11 with the same problems.  Local files still have problems with redirected user data but local users with local files have no problem. Alternate PDF programs still take time to load the file over the network but do not seem to have the application hang problems. Any ideas or suggestions?

    in AS2, use getURL("data/pdf/nameoffile.pdf",
    "_blank");

  • Adobe Reader 10.1.3 - Printer Menu starts after 30 seconds

    Hi everybody
I installed the new Adobe Reader 10.1.3 on Citrix Servers. The Problem ist, that some users have the problem, when they click on the "Printer" Button then it takes more than 30 seconds if something happend.
    What can I do?

When an operating system print dialog is opened, all the printers defined on that machine/account will be pinged for their status. If there's a network printer on the list and it isn't responding, the OS will enter a timeout loop. Apart from removing the dead printer, there's not a lot you can do to get around it.
