Adobe reader xi (11.0) after upgrading acrord32.exe unknown software exception

after upgrading from (10) to latest version of  adobe reader xi (11.0) keeps crashing
a) During windows boot:   acrord32.exe Ausnahme Unbekannter Softwarefehler (0xc0000409)
b) after attempting to open a .pdf
the file might open,  but  acrord32.exe Ausnahme Unbekannter Softwarefehler (0xc0000409) error message
keeps returning  every few minutes
Windows XP SP3  adobe reader xi (11.0) updated to 11.0.01

No, adobe acrobat reader is not in the startup list, but a filemanager, displaying a directory containing  .pdf's.
In the meantime I have de- and reinstalled it multiple times, last running ccleaner v3.27
which found dozends of ancient acrobat 7.0, 9.0, 10.0 entries | files to be removed.
Unfortunate the error message still appears attempting to open a  .pdf
or just browsing a directory with .pdf's
Last I noted an error message pointing to a .exe file which cannot be accessed on a synced directory of our fileserver,
since I was not aware my directories are synced, I shall talk to our administrators...

  • Adobe Reader XI Greyed out after upgrade

Hi, I need help.  My mom's MacBook Pro running OS X Lion 10.7.5 stopped opening PDF's in browser (Safari) after upgrading to Adobe Reader XI. The Reader is greyed out in the corner and while the PDF will open in browser, it is a garbled mess of code.

Fixed it!  After much internet searching I realized I was asking the wrong question.  It's not about the "Reader" button being grayed out as some PDF's were open in Safari and the Reader button WAS blue.  It was about a particular plug-in from adobe.  It's an Adobe issue.  Go to Library/internet plug ins and delete the plug in Plug-ins/AdobePDFViewer.plugin
    That solved my problem!

  • Deleting Adobe Reader 8 and 9 after Upgrading to 10

I upgraded several months ago but noticed that Adobe Reader 8 and 9 are still in my Adobe folder under programs.  Can I delete those folders/files or does Reader 10 need them??

The standard advise is to rewmove all traces of previous versions of
Reader before proceeding to a new install. If the previous versions have
not been removed, the standard advise is to remove all trace
s of Reader (all versions), and then rein
stalling the one you want. To eliminate
Reader, you can follow the procedure described here:

If the "it" refers to a compressed (zipped) spreadsheet that you downloaded, the ".ods" extension is used by LibreOffice and probably OpenOffice (which are free versions of MS Office) for spreadsheets, which would suggest that wherever you're getting that "Excel" file from has switched to one of those programs. I've tried opening an .ods file from LibreOffice using MS Office 2013 for Windows and it does open though with a warning that some things have been changed. I don't know if Office for Mac can normally open .ods files. But if your need is to just open .ods files, take a look at LibreOffice.

  • Adobe Reader 11 could not print with pdfp.exe

I have updated my Adobe to Adobe Reader 11 and in my application has used pdfp.exe for printing pdf files. But after updation I haven't print pdf files.
It was possible to print while Adobe reader 10 and below version with pdfp.exe batchfile .Please help

    Hello,
    Thank you for the welcome
"Preview is not supported" is the error message I get when the Print Dialog box is open and I select "Preview" from it. I thought it might be important to mention that.
This may be too much information: When I select the print icon from the PDF file, the file does not print, nor do I get an error message. When I choose File > Print in Safari, and then select Print from the open window, a Safari error message pops up that says "The document could not be printed."
My ignorance is revealed: I do not know how to drag and drop the file directly on the printer's window...
    I appreciate your assistance!

I have a similar problem, but after following your suggestion of deleting my iphone backup and then turning backup back on again, I needed to plug my phone into my computer to sync the backup.  I re-tried to do an icloud backup and it again told me that  "the last backup could not be completed"... since I had deleted the backup, it says the "Last backup:  never".  Ugh. I reconnected my iPhone 4S to my computer and iTunes so I could sync my phone and do a backup... it's still "waiting for sync to start"...
For your iCloud backup, you may have an app that is preventing the backup from succeeding.  To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again.  If it succeeds, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is preventing the backup and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails.  Eventually you'll be able to locate the problem app and exclude it from your backup.
If you turned iCloud backup off and try to sync to create a backup on your computer and got a "waiting for sync to start" error, it may be caused by a corrupt backup on your computer.  You could try deleting your last backup by opeing iTunes and going to Preferences>Devices, clicking on your last backup and clicking Delete Backup.  Then try again.

  • Adobe Reader XI brings unknown software exception (0xc0000409)

    Hi there,
I am one of the administrators at a computer pool of a university.
    OS: Win XP SP3
AR: Adobe Reader XI 11.0.0.7 , but happens since 11.0.0.0 to us.
For quite some time now, we experience the exception "exception unknown software exception (0xc0000409) occurred in the application at location 0x~RAM-adress~
    Obvious Problem Solving included:
Re: when i open a pdf i get the following error message -
I can't figure out a solution. There seems to be no obvious behaviour that can specifically can re-create the exception. This exception occurs also if you're simply scrolling through folders that include a PDF. Even when Adobe Reader XI is not the primary PDF Reader....

    Hi,
appears to happen randomly, but I bet it is not.
For example when browsing a folder with a PDF in it, but not even hovering over it with the mouse, the error occurs. It also occurs when watching PDFs with PDF X Change Viewer for example. So something still must be calling Adobe Reader ....
Quite frustrating when working with .pdfs a lot

  • Reader XI - unknown software exception

I have Acrobat Reader XI on a Windows XP SP3 PC.
When I open a .pdf file by double clicking on it, before Reader XI runs I get the following error in a pop-up window:
The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000409) occurred in the application at location 0x00411e0b. (The location address changes each time).
From then on, I keep getting the same pop up appearing on top of other program windows even when I am not actively trying to access a .pdf file, but if a Windows Explorer window containing .pdfs is still open. It's even doing it as I try to type this....
It seems random whether or not the box goes away if I click OK or Cancel.
Bizarrely, every .pdf document I have tried has still opened in Reader XI fine after getting rid of the pop-up.
I have uninstalled Reader XI completely (using the Windows "Add/Remove Programs dialogue) and reinstalled using a fresh download of the program from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5507, but there is no improvement.
I have found several previous mentions of this error on this forum (and it is all over Google) but have found no solution that works for me so far.
    Please assist if you can.

As there have been no other suggestions, I tried uninstalling Reader XI and went back to Reader X.
Now that comes up with an error message in a very similar way, except the message now reads:
"Adobe Reader X- There was an error opening this document. This file cannot be found."
It's infuriating when every .pdf I have tried DOES open and display fine, so these annoying error messages are actually wrong.
But they still just keep popping up, even when I am simply working in another program, but just happen to have a Windows Explorer window open in the background showing the contents of a folder that includes one or more .pdf files.
Surely someone from Adobe can advise????

  • Cannot print to Adobe PDF printer from Word after upgrading to Win 7 64bit

Hi. After upgrading my operating system from Windows XP to Windows 7 64 bit, I can no longer print to the Adobe PDF printer (e.g. from Word). It just sits in the Adobe PDF printer queue saying "Error" without bringing up the "Save As" dialog box, and nothing happens. I am running Adobe Acrobat 8.0.0 (I've checked for updates but it says none are available). I have tried doing a repair installation following the instructions on this website (http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-file-adobepdf-dll-needed.html) but to no avail.
Thank you in advance for your help.

I think it's time to upgrade. 64-bit systems weren't much in use at the time of Acrobat 8.0.

  • Problem with Adobe Reader 8.1.2 after applying NW04s SPS15

    Hi Experts,
After installing NW04s SPS15 (from SPS14) we have problems viewing certain PDF documents ie. when trying to load the ESS 'Code of conduct' PDF document. Adobe Reader 8.1.2 will consume CPU and memory on the front-end PC, and sometimes it will eventually load - after 15 minutes or just makes the PC unusable.
This does not happen on NW04s with SPS14 and it does not happen when using Adobe Reader 7.1.0 - which means we have ADS working correctly
We have tested this on numerous computers, including loading the PDF successfully using Adobe Reader 7.1.0, then updating Adobe Reader to 8.1.2 to find that it no longer loads the PDF.
We raised a message for the ACF installation file as per note 766191 and installed it without any success.
Has anyone else experienced this after applying SPS15? Or can suggest some things we can try?
    Thanks.
    Kind Regards,
    Darvern

    Hi,
We are also struggling with the same problem after upgrading the portal to NW04s SPS15.  It is consuming 2 to 3 min for opening the PDF form in ESS under Travel & Expenses.
We are also with same version of Adobe i.e.8.1.2
    Still waiting for the solution,
    Regards,
    Venu

  • Highlight in Adobe Reader X not working after update to 10.1.1

    Hello
We have an application aimed at assisting people with reading difficulties. For that purpose we have written an Adobe Reader plugin which makes our application able to read text from PDF documents. While it reads it also highlights the words it is reading so that the user can keep up with it. However, after the 10.1.1 update of the Reader the highlighting no longer works.
The plugin was originally developed using Acrobat SDK 8.1, but the problem remained even after I upgraded to SDK 10. The highlighting is done using the AV-layer with the AVPageViewHighlightText() method.
We need to know if there is something in this recent update which breaks the highlight functionality, and if so, is it intentional?
PS: We are running with Protected Mode disabled since reading doesn’t work at all with it.

    Ok, I found the problem.
We are using the void AVPageViewDrawNow(AVPageView pageView) method to make sure that some changes are applied in certain cases. The behavior of this method seems to be different in Adobe Reader 10.1.1. Removing the call brought our highlighting back to life.

  • Adobe Reader doesn't work after windows 7 update

    Hello,
My Adobe Reader X was working fine, until one night where Windows 7 automatically updated, and after that Adobe Reader doesn't work anymore. It doesn't respond AT ALL when I click on it, and I cannot view PDF files anymore.
I uninstalled it, and re-installed it --- still doesn't work. I tried downloading version 9, but still it doesn't work.
I also tried to do system restore, but somehow it won't let me --- it says it failed to do so.
When I try to open PDF files in IE 10, it says "There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader..." and an error code of 103:103.
    Could anyone help me?
    Thanks!

You can try running cleaner on your machine

and then again install latest Reader from

  • Adobe Reader X (10.0.1) Upgrade Problems

I've been trying upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader X (10.0.1) for several days now. In the upgrade process, the old version was removed and the latest version will not complete the upgrade.
Here's the error code I continue to get:
Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component
    {B708EB72-AA82-3EB7-8BB0-D845BA35C93D}. HRESULT: 0x80073712.
I have scoured the Internet and tried everything I've been able to find, but to no avail. I'm unable to open or read any PDF files.  HELP!

We're experiencing the same issues but it doesn't seem to be restricted to Ad
obe Reader X. We have some users using Adobe Reader
    9.x.
We're using WinXP pro Sp3; it occurs on different brands of Pc's and different brands and types of printers, HP deskjets, laserjets to Lexmark Laserjets and Kyocera Mita Laserjets.
It occurs trying to print from a pdf opened in IE or an attachment in an email. Reprinting the exact same document a second time will usually print OK. The time we've been able to duplicate the problem back to back is printing an email attachment by "Right clicking" the attachement and then clicking "print" at that point the whole document prints garbled.
Our other print outs; File > Print, usually start out OK but somewhere's down the page it prints garbled text, then reprinting will be OK. It doesn't happen all the time, just randemly.
