Adobe Reader XI - No pages were selected to print

Trying to print PDF's in Adobe Reader XI when trying to print the error message "No pages were selected to print" appears. Trying to print from a network printer, the printer itself is a Dell 2135cn MFP PCL6. I'm working on a cloud server and a colleague of mine seems to have no problem with the issue with printing PDF's to this printer.
Took a look into the issue and attempted to save the file to the desktop, print the file as an image and checked all the properties were correct these all seemed to show no effect on the situation. Used CutePDF to build a new PDF and tried that as well which didn't work.  Printed a test page to the printer to see if it printed which it did. Seems I'm only able to print from other programs just not PDF.

HI ,
Kindly follow the below mentioned steps:-
On the Print window select your printer.
Click on advanced tab
select Print as an image
Click Ok.

  • Cannot Print, no pages were selected to print!

    Hi,
I've seen this error message in a lot of discussions online but yet I haven't been able to solve it. I'm running adobe reader XI (11.0.0).
When I print some PDF documents i get the error stating that "no pages were selected to print". When I look at the document properties I see that all the documents that I get this problem with is version 1.4.
When i try to print a document in version 1.7 it works just fine. Is this by design? Can't I print PDF-documents version 1.4 in this version of adobe reader?
    Best regards
    Peter

I've actually seen a solution for this quite recently, but I don't remember what it was.  And of course the forum search is useless...
Can you  try if disabling Protected Mode could be it [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

  • Document could not print because no pages were selected to print

I have indicated page 151-200 to print.  receive the error above

With the limited amount of information you have provided, its virtually impossible to find the reason behind this issue.
Please provide some more information as below:
    1. Your OS
    2. The version of Adobe Reader on your system (Help > About Adobe Reader)
    3. The printer model being used.
    4. Is the issue specific to a certain PDF or all PDFs in general. Does it happen with: http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/acrobat/release-note/release-notes-acrobat-reader/_ jcr_content/main-pars/download/file.res/Acrobat_Reader_ReleaseNote_10.1.4.pdf

  • Adobe Reader 9.1 Cannot print - No pages were selected

When trying to print a PDF on a new Dell PC using Windows XP, sp3, I get a message in a window that says Document cannot be printed. Click ok and the next message is No pages were selected to print. The All button is selected and the message stays the same.

For your problem, I'm assuming other programs already print without problem.  My only recommendation is backup your system, format, install only your OS and  printer, and see if that hits it.  Get a fresh copy of Adobe reader, maybe off a magazine CD - the downloads off internet are usually only download managers that install themselves on your system and then download the actual program.  Stay away - possible errors can creep in.  And maybe stay away from the Adobe Reader install package you have at the moment - mark it suspect.  Download your printer software anew.
Basically start fresh.  If it works then, I'm guessing a software conflict on your old system is the cause, or your install media you used for your old install was corrupt, only 2 of many possibilities.
But the key here is to make a "ghost" backup of your current system so you can go look for the problem afterwards.  Of course, I don't even know if there is backup software like ghost out there for a mac.
Also, I think your mac probably has recovery CDs.  Avoid those - get CDs of your OS only.  Make sure you install only the OS and printer software - possibly even only the printer driver, not the printer software.  The newest latest and greatest versions of all of them.
And easiest probably is to put in a different hard disk for this test - saves you from backing up.
My thoughts are that Adobe Reader should work on your system.  It's a software configuration issue.  So something you've installed is preventing things from working correctly.  Especially since your other programs print to the same printer driver without hassle.  But your first step is to get Adobe Reader to print again on a fresh start and prove it still can work, then add stuff until it stops working and blame the last thing you installed.
The actual error, as we've learnt, might be completely unrelated to "no pages were selected".
If you've done all that and still no joy, try a different printer with different software.  Then try a different printer cable.  Then you've got to move on to changing the machine so you can get away from the ports on your current system, but by this time we're at the point of giving up hope, I hope you don't have to go there.  Maybe you could install a peripheral card in your system to add a new port, but that's also more of a hassle than it's worth.
    Hope this helps.

  • Adobe reader 11.0.2 "no pages were selected"

I am unable to print from Adobe reader 11.0.2. It always ststes "no pages were selected"

Both of these problems are also in the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 2015.007.20033. The first problem on the Windows 7 computer can be resolved by deleting the CRL Cache (before signing) in the following location: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\Security\CRLCache.

  • Adobe Reader 11.0.07 defaults to duplex printing. Is there a way to set the default to leave that "print to both sides of the page" box unchecked?

Adobe Reader 11.0.07 defaults to duplex printing. Is there a way to set the default to leave that "print to both sides of the page" box unchecked?
I am working on an end-user's computer, I just updated to the newest Adobe Reader and they don't ever print duplex. I want to be able to have the "print to both sides" box unchecked on the print dialog by default. Is there a way to do this? I have the printer settings all set to 1-sided but it is adobe print dialog settings that keep messing it up.
    Thanks!

    Hi John,
Have you tried repairing Reader and checked?
Does this issue occur only on this machine or are you facing the issue with other computers as well which have updated to Reader 11.0.10?

  • I'm trying to print a custom envelope fro address book and keep getting the message No Pages were selected from the document.

I'm trying to print a custom envelope from Address book using one of my groups. I keep getting a No Pages were selected message. Anybody have any Ideas?

Hello, I find that only entries with Home or Work filled in with an address will show.
Might try right clicking on this link & saving Apple's Addy, then import this vCard, select it & see if it shows one envelope...

  • Print PDF file in Adobe Reader from Galaxy Tab 2 to HP Printer?

Can someone please tell me an easy way to do this?  I've tried Cloud Print and Printer Share and neither one are very user friendly.  When I open my PDF in Adobe Reader on my tablet 2, the only printer listed is the Cloud Print.  This is a pain in the butt.  It really shouldn't be this hard.

did you get an answer to this one?  I am having the same problem.
I complete the form by the fields are highlighted in black w/white font type.  when I try to print, the form s
    hows blank.

You need to buy the plug-ins you are using. This is a demo mode spoiler from some third-party plug-in.

  • Adobe Reader "error on page"

Updated Adobe Reader to the latest version on my MacBook Pro. Now my pdfs get the following message:
"An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem."
But I can still put these pdfs in a flash drive and print copies at Kinko's on their printers, or directly to my printer. But when I try to print to network printer, I get an error, not completed. I tried a Word doc just to make sure it was not a network error--those print just fine.

This really should be in the Adobe Reader for Mac forum instead of the iOS forum. I did a google search on the topic and the problem seems to appear for PDF's that have been altered during transfer. For example, if a PDF is incorrectly downloaded from FTP as ascii, or if the PDF was altered by your firewall. Have you tried a PDF that you have downloaded from the web like the IRS tax tables? http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040tt.pdf
Please let me know if this helps. If not, I will move it to a forum that might be better able to help!

  • How to stop Adobe Reader jumping through pages?

In two of my computers, Adobe Acrobat Reader (newest version) has this kind of bug: when I open some document, and scroll to some page, then switch tabs (if in browser) or alt-tab to another program, and after some time switch back to Reader, it "forgets" which page I was in, and displays random page, like it scrolls automatically to random place. Tried re-installing, different browsers, different documents, still this problem. If I don't alt-tab, everything is ok. Just when I switch focus to other program, and back again to Adobe Reader, document is scrolled somewhere else than where I left it. Sometimes Reader scrolls to another part of the page I red before, sometimes it jumps 2-3 pages forward. Why is this happening?

Can you please do the following in Reader:
    Click Edit, Preferences.
    Choose Documents.
Check the box marked, Restore last view settings when reopening documents.
    This should do the trick.

  • Why can't adobe reader remember my page?

I have the settings set to open the last display page when I open the file and it normally works fine. But sometimes all the files in my computer will restore to the original status like it shows the first page and the font is very big. I don't know what I did and it seems to happen randomly. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? It's pretty annoying. Thanks!

    (for the record)
This is a known issue with the Adobe Reader plugin on Mac OS:
*[https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=811085 Bug 811085] - Can't use Adobe Reader for PDF files
Read the above bug for details (please don't comment in the bug report).
    To work around this,
#disable the Adobe Reader plugin in the Firefox Tools -> Add-ons -> Plugins list
#choose another action for '''Portable Document Format (PDF)''' content types in the Firefox Preferences -> Applications list, such as "Preview in Firefox" to use the built-in PDF viewer, "Preview" application or the Adobe Reader application itself

  • Adobe Reader PDF compilation - Page chopping!

I am trying to use adobe reader to compile a pdf from an assortment of word, excel, and powerpoint files.  Some of the powerpoint files have landscape featured slides with graphics on them.  They convert to PDF and the graphics are chopped in half and are continued on the next page or the next next page.  Is there a way to fix this?!  Thanks.

    Definitely not with Reader.
Reader does exactly as it says.
it views (reads) PDF. except with certain rights its allowed to fill out and email forms.
in Reader XI you are allowed to fill out forms without reader rights if you intend to Print out.
You will need Acrobat to do certain editting features even some of those are limited. And PDF you can Create PDF's.
