Adobe runs slow

Question

Hello, everyone.
In linux, adobe runs slow, I use adobe 8.0, and I have to wait for one second just page-up and page-down.
If I search for some keywords in the document, I have to wait for more time.
Is there any tip to speed up the adobe speed?
Or is there any tool to convert the file into text file?

There is a tool named pdftotext which can change pdf to text.
Add the following line to ~/.vimrc:
autocmd BufReadPre *.pdf set ro nowrap
autocmd BufReadPost *.pdf silent %!pdftotext "%" -nopgbrk -layout -q -eol unix -
autocmd BufWritePost *.pdf silent !rm -rf ~/PDF/%
autocmd BufWritePost *.pdf silent !lp -s -d pdffg "%"
autocmd BufWritePost *.pdf silent !until [ -e ~/PDF/% ]; do sleep 1; done
autocmd BufWritePost *.pdf silent !mv ~/PDF/% %:p:h
$ vim test.pdf
the pdf file will be automatically changed to text and open it.
But the format isn't good, so it's helpful to search for some strings quickly.
If you want to read the document, I think pdf is perfer.
