Adobe's certificate used for security patch expired

I was advised to install a security patch for Acrobat XI Pro (11.0.07 --> 11.0.08). But when verifying Adobe's certificate of the downloaded file I realized that the signature has expired already. How can I trust in a security patch which hasn't got a valid signature? Did they hack Adobe's website?

My general question is when a public key certificate, used for Seeburger AS2 payload decryption and digital signatures, needs to be renewed, how carefully do the certificate renewal steps need to be coordinated for a seamless transition? More specifically...
1. Once we import the CSR response from the CA, will the public key currently used by our partner become invalid, or will it continue to work until its expiration date?
2. Will our partner be able to validate our signature after the new CSR has been imported, but prior to them applying the new public key certificate in their system?
3. Or can we renew the certificate, import the CSR request, provide our partner with the renewed certificate, and let them apply the certificate at their own volition, provided they do it prior to the original certificate expiration?

In my experience, the renewal/replacement of AS2 certificates for encryption/decryption & signing/authentication requires coordinated effort on both sides.
This is because AS2 uses asymmetrical encryption, so both parties need to use the same pair of certificates at the same time, i.e. you encrypt on your private key, and partner decrypt on the public key matching your private key. If the keys used do not belong to the same pair, then decryption will not work.
I'm not sure what AS2 software your partner uses and if it has the feature of automatic rollover of certificate, but PI/Seeburger does not. The approach in PI/Seeburger can either be one of the following:-
i) import new cert replacing original cert of the same name
ii) import new cert into new name, manually update sender/receiver agreements
Due to the manual nature of the tasks, normally it requires coordinated effort during a cutover window.

* Photoshop Touch does have very good text capabilites.
* For opening the Collage as an Artwork (Merged layer) in Photoshop Touch, you just need to upload the Collage file to Creative cloud and import it directly into Photoshop Touch.
But if you are looking to preserve all the layers of the Collage file, you should download the Collage file as PSD from Creative Clould and import it in Photoshop Touch as layers.
* Collage does have canvas scalability, you can extend up the canvas on all the four directions. But i think in you case you are looking for having specific custom sizes of the canvas, which is not currently available in Collage. Currently you cannot shrink the canvas below the default canvas size.

Adobe Reader 9.1.3 Security Patch

Does the Adobe 9.1.3 SP3 have the Security Patch already in it? Or, do we need to install the Security Patch to fix the hole?

Issues with downloading Adobe Acrobat 8.3.1 Security Patch

Hi,
I am having issues downloading Adobe Acrobat 8.3.1 update security patch. I go to the Download Now & click on it, that brings up the File Download, where it states do you want to open or save and I click on the open and that brings up a window, showing the earth at one end, files being copied to a temporary file, but the percent of files being sent stays at 0 and there is no green bars on the status bar.
What is going on please? I was able to download the security patch for Adobe Reader 8.3.1, but the Acrobat isn't working.

Applying Adobe Reader 8.1.2 Security Patch on top of Adobe Pro 7.x

Our firm has a number of users running Adobe Standard and Professional 7.x. These users also have Adobe Reader 8 installed simultaneously as well.
According to the Adobe security bulletin below, the security patch for Adobe Standard and Professional 7.x will not be released until May 2008:

Question: if we deployed Adobe Reader 8.1.2 (which addresses the same security vulnerabilities mentioned in the above link) on top of Adobe Standard and Professional 7.x, will the vulnerability be fixed? The businesses will not be upgrading to Adobe Standard / Professional 8.1.2.

Noticed that Acrobat 9 had a new patch released on 7/31/2009 but there was no Acrobat 8 patch.
Does this mean that Acrobat 8 isn't vulnerable to the authplay.dll vulnerability or does that mean that Acrobat 8 is no longer supported?

Adobe still releases security patches for older versions of Acrobat, but only back to AA6 think. The latest one for AA8 is

Snow Leopard wasn't affected by the latest security flaw so no update was needed. You need to check to make sure your system can run Mavericks before upgrading.

Best Practice for certificate management for security

We have been working on moving toward future implementation of document encryption and electronic signatures using Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard. I have read 21 CFR 11, and accompanying guidances. Are there any best practice recommendations for how to meet these standards using this technology?
There are some requirements that I am unsure of how to best implement.
How should we document that we have verified the identity of the individual?
How should we periodically force revision of passwords, or document that this is done since no one knows each other’s passwords?
How should we manage certifications so that we can show we deactivate obsolete ones?
How do we monitor to detect attempts at unauthorized access/use of electronic signatures?
If our organization wants to become our own certification authority, what documentation do we need or process should we use to validate our certificates?

Those are some pretty big questions! I'm not saying that your company can't become a CA because obviously there are companies that have, but this is almost something that happens at the state level if your not already intimate with PKI. Just from the tenor of your questions I'd suggest you contract with a reputable, existing CA to provide your PKI infrastructure. I could explain key management and how revocation checking works, but really if you're asking in an Adobe forum this is way more than you want to be dealing with.
If you're really interested you need to start with reading RFC 5280.

How can we configure a group policy to distribute certificates to Outlook 2010 users so they can digitally sign and encrypt messages without requiring much effort on their end?
The users will become confused and make mistakes if we ask them to follow instructions on how to download and import certificates into Outlook 2010 manually. Can we automate this with Group Policy?

Would a certificate "autoenrollment" GPO work for these types of certificates?
Yes. Here's a good guide. The user will still need to choose to sign, or encrypt, unless you want to enforce that in some way. If you are sending signed or encrypted email outside of your AD, you will need to solve how the recipients will get your root cert,
etc.

7600 w/ G3 use for security monitor

I have a 7600 with A/V In/Outs,Sonnet G3 card, spare scsi card and lg HD. I would like to use this system or how can I convert this to securty monitor. Tank you in advance

This is an easy one. Take a digital camera with a yellow av out plug, plug it into the video in port, open up Apple Video player and click on the camera. Turn the digital camera on and the viewfinder becomes a low res video camera. The camera is the lense and the hard drive becomes your tape. Fun to play with. Try it.
As for long term taping as a security monitor? A standard vcr still works best. Just found surveillance cameras for $25 at my favorite electric surplus supply shop. Find someone who is upgrading their system and pick up the outdated stuff cheap.

Hello you Adobe Experts!
I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I am interested in developing/designing a tactical map for competitive gaming and I was wondering what adobe products would help me best. I have a decent amount of experience with Fireworks. The map will be a web application and should be interactive for the user experience. Could anyone weigh in on this question? It would help me out a lot if I knew what path I should go. Thanks!

Sorry for not being very descriptive. I would want the map very interactive, almost to the sense of everything on the map will be affected by user interaction.
For example, a user scrolls over a zone and it lights up & once clicked upon, the zone will display information somewhere. The map will be a "fight for control" like a domination set up, and the way it would work is that a team (Team A) would control Zone A and Team B controls Zone B. Well, Team A decides to challenge their neighboring zone (Which is Zone B) to a match. (In some FPS game). Whoever wins the match, will obtain control of that zone. I know this is a lot of stuff to take in. But, I'm just curious to see others ideas on what technologies they would use to design something like this.
