Adobe's Express Install doesn't load original url

I implemented Adobe's Express Install on my website, and all
works well except at the end of the process, it doesn't
automatically close the original window with the old flash player
and it doesn't automatically reload the original url typed into the
new window with the new flash player. Adobe's documentation says
that it is designed to do this, but these final two steps don't
seem to be what happens.
Does anyone know what code must be changed to make this
happen?
thanks for any help.

you can contact adobe support and see if they can sell you another set of cds, Contact Customer Care
but you should be able to download. you may need to use a different browser or different (wired) connection.

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard install doesn't recognize my version of IE

When I try to install Adobe Acrobat Standard 9, I get an error that says I need IE6 or greater and the install will not finish.  I have IE9.  Why doesn't it recognize that I have IE9, and how do I get around this?  Thanks.
Update:  I have since installed IE10, and am still having the same problem.

Awesome suggestiont. Your solution worked perfectly and it was a breeze. Thanks!!

  • Ipad2: Imovie was deleted, re-install doesn't show original created movies

My daughter had created a number of movies in iMovie on the iPad.  Our first one was dropped and I took it to the Apple store and they replaced it (Thank You, Apple store Pioneer Square!!!!)
When I plugged the new one in, it re-installed everything, including all the movies that my daughter created, just as if it was the first iPad we had.
Now, my other daughter(#2) just deleted iMovie, and when I re-installed it, it's like a new program, none of the movies daughter #1 created are on there.
Seems like they must be on my computer if they re-installed on the new iPad after the first was broken.  Should I click "restore"?   Does that bring it back to factory specs or to the last backup?
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
Note:  I've searched for this answer on my own for quite awhile now, through norums and Apple help, with no luck.

If via iTunes on your computer you restore to the last backup then you will get whatever was stored in that backup back on the iPad - so anything that you've changed on the iPad since the backup was made will be removed from the iPad. You will need all the relevant apps on your computer's iTunes for the restore to work, as a backup contains an app's data and content, but not the actual apps themselves (so for the restore to work iTunes needs access to the apps so that it can install them and therefore their content).
    There is info/help on backups/restores here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4079

  • I need help with express install

I am attempting to use the express install option in the swf
    object discussed
    here
I have used this to embed flash content to overcome the
'click to activate' issue, but so far, I have been unable to get
the express install option to work.
I removed flash player using the
“uninstall_flash_player.exe” and now the embedded flash
content doesn’t show up, I get the content between the
“<div id="flashcontent"> This text is replaced by the
Flash content. </div>” as expected but express install
    doesn’t run.
I have expressinstall.as and swfobject.js in the root folder.
This is the code from the html page:
    <script type="text/javascript"
    src="swfobject.js"></script>
<div id="flashcontent">This text is replaced by the
    Flash content.</div>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var so = new SWFObject("rolloverBG.swf", "mymovie", "700",
    "200", "7", "#bdbdbd");
    so.addParam("useExpressInstall", "true");
    so.write("flashcontent");
    </script>
In the fla file, the first frame has the #include
    "expressinstall.as" code in place.
I think I have all the parts in place and deployed
appropriately, I would appreciate any assistance.
The test page I am using
    can be
    found here.

The following are important in a roaming network:
The Express must be connected back to the 2Wire router by Ethernet.
The Express must be configured as a bridge.
The Express must broadcast a wireless network that uses the same Network Name (aka SSID) and wireless security type/password as the 2Wire's wireless network.
In a roaming network, the Express will "extend" the 2Wire's network by creating a second wireless network with the same characteristics. You can literally roam with a wireless laptop between these networks and still be on the 'same' network. However, if the Express is placed outside of the signal range of the 2Wire, then there will be a coverage gap and that can appear as though the network is not extended.

  • Did 10.5.2 break Adobe's Flash Player express install?

I hit a Flash site, it requested I update my Flash Player using the express install. I did this, it downloaded a package, which opened an installer asking me to close the browser. The browser was frozen (tried both Safari & Firefox), so I have to force-quit.
Is this the same for anyone else on 10.5.2?

The Adobe Flash Player seems to be having issues with 10.5.x in general. Some people have to use the latest update, some people had to revert to an older version. The Adobe installer doesn't seem to always work correctly from Standard accounts. The Adobe Uninstaller certainly does not work correctly from Standard accounts.
Try logging in to an Admin account, then download the Uninstaller and the the Flash installer from the Adobe site. Uninstall Flash using the Uninstaller. Then install it again from the download. Might work.
However I have to say that web surfing with an iPod Touch (which lacks Flash) gets rid of an awesome number of annoying advertisements, so I uninstalled Flash on my iMac.

My hard drive fried and had to be replaced. I'm trying to install CS4 from my original discs but keep getting this error message - "One or more of the required components of Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Standard failed to install correctly". A customer service rep gave me a link to download off the Adobe site, but when I try to open the file to run it, I get this error message - "A problem occurred extracting the archive".
    Can anyone help?

Yep.  Nothing happens at all. Windows tries to execute the uninstaller, but I don't get any other screen and all activity stops for the MSI.  I monitored it in Process Monitor and the MSI executable appears, but is quickly ended, like it couldn't find anything or something.
It's as if windows has a blank entry in Programs and Features, because it used to show the size of the Adobe application in the "Size" column.  Now it's just blank.  Link to screenshot below:
    http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/5006/screenshotcaf.jpg
Note the install date.  That's when I was able to successfully reinstall it.  Now I can't even do that.  I should also mention I tried Revo Uninstaller.  It deleted one small registry key, but nothing changed.
By the way, is the CS cleaner supposed to ask for a disc in the drive when you run it?  It refused to run unless I had one in it, so I used my install dvd.

To install Adobe Reader (and most other programs) you need your computer's Administrator password.

I download Adobe Flash but it doesn't install. Each time I encounter something that needs Adobe Flash it tells me I don't have it. I am getting tired downloading it and then it isn't there.

    install_flash_player_10_osx.dmg
    install_flash_player_10_osx-1.dmg
    install_flash_player_10_osx-2.dmg
    install_flash_player_10_osx-3.dmg
    install_flash_player_10_osx-4.dmg
    etc to -9
Those are the ones you downloaded. Ten times, apparently. Since install_flash_player_10_osx.dmg already existed, the next download was appended with -1. The next -2, etc. They'll all be identical, so it doesn't matter which one you use. Though I'd go with the last one as it may be a slightly updated version from the first download, depending on how long ago you did the first one.
A .dmg file is a Disk Image. When you double click them, they open up a pseudo drive on the desktop. When you open one of these ten items, the Flash installer will appear in a file window. Run it to install Flash. Then close the file window (displaying from the psuedo drive) and then put the "drive" in the trash to dismount it. You can then delete all of those.
Looks like you also downloaded the Adobe Reader twice. Versions 10.1.2 and 10.1.3. Also Skype, whatever the Thomson thing is, and an unnecessary Flash uninstaller (the Flash installer will put an uninstaller in the Utilities folder).

  • My control panel says adobe flash is installed. But it doesn't always work.

Hi..I am running windows xp pro and
had Adobe which was working fine, then I was told to update and since then no Flash player
all the time. I can view youtube movies, but sites like Kodak Photo and Hallmark and
ebay tell me I need to update my flash player. When I go to control panel it shows that Adobe 10 is installed and windows/system32/macromedia/ also shows that Adobe 10 is installed. I have been trying to solve this problem for a long time. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi, did you use the Adobe Uninstaller first or just click on the website that advised you to update?
The old version of Flash Player needs to be Uninstalled first before Installing the latest version.
Adobe Uninstaller:http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html  Download and SAVE to your Desktop.
Download and SAVE to your Desktop the FP Installer for IE:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
Read over the Uninstall instructions first.
If you have any questions just post back.

  • Itunes won't open, re-install doesn't help, 6.0 won't load...?

    Hi guys,
I can figure this stuff out sometimes, but this is perplexing me. A month or so ago I tried installing version 6.0 on my computer for itunes. After it said it was installed, my itunes wouldn't open. I deleted all programs of it off my computer, and re-installed itunes with my original disk. Still didn't open. i just tried installing the new 6.0 version again, and it gets stuck on the spot where it says "installing quick-time" It just keeps installing quick-time over and over and over again.
Can anyone help with any sort of advice to get my itunes to open, so I can get some new songs and put them on my nano?
    Any help is appreciated.

    hiya!
a few questions (about the launch problem) before proceeding.
are you getting an error message? if so, what does it say? include error message numbers if you're getting any.
or are you getting no error messages whatsoever when you try to launch itunes?
if you're getting no error messages whatsoever, do you just see the wee hourglass for a few seconds, and then nothing? if so, do you also have Norton Internet Security 2005 installed on that PC?
or are you seeing a brief "flash" of the itunes license screen (and then nothing)? if so, do you also see similar behavior when you try to launch your QuickTime?
    love, b

  • Premiere CS4 doesn't load

    Windows XP SP3.
I had to reinstall premiere and now it doesn't load.
I reinstalled it because I restored my system to a point which made it have few bugs.
Now, when I just click the exe file - I get the window of license agreement, I click accept and after that nothing loads. Not even a background process.
So, I uninstalled premiere again (and uninstalled everything it offered me to uninstall (left after effects installed)) and then reinstall -
The first try failed with a message that few components weren't completely installed. It asked me to try again and the next time was successfull.
But as I said, even after a successful installation, premiere doesn't work.
    Help?
    Thanks

When you did the Uninstall, did you run the Adobe Cleaner Tool, before you Installed CS4?
    Creative Suite Cleaner Tool: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
I would Uninstall, then run the Cleaner Tool a few times, rebooting between each run, and then Install CS4.
    Good luck,

  • Please Help: Flash Express Install Problem

    Hello,
I am having a bit of trouble getting Flash Express Install to
work correctly with my Flash Detection kit. Basically, I have
    followed the steps in [URL="
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/fp8_detection.html"
Hoekman, Jr.'s article[/URL], but when I test the Express Install,
    I get the following errors:
    (1) When I test it out with all my files on the server, the
browser crashes and the upgrade fails.
    (2) When I test it locally on my Mac OSX hard drive, I am
prompted to quit my browser in order to perform the upgrade. It
should allow me to keep the browser open and load my SWF once
    updated:
"Express Install... prompts users to upgrade to Flash Player 8
if they do not have it already and, when installation is complete,
returns the user back to the page that started the process."
Any ideas? Thanks for your help.
