Adobe Screwup, Illustrator update will not install (mac)

Wish we have never joined the cloud services, and we plan to discontinue as soon as possible. What a MESS. Can't install a simple update through the automated process provided by Adobe. You guys are the genuine screw ups, bright people doing dumb things. Have nothing good to say about you at all, can't get help, long time adobe product user really HATES this mess you have created.

[email protected] I am sorry you have been experiencing difficulties applying the update to Illustrator.  Which update exactly are you trying to apply?  Do you receive any error messages while applying the update?  Finally which operating system are you using?

  • Adobe Reader X update will not install

I got Adobe Reader X by downloading it online from this site I believe. I have no discs or anything. But several times it has wanted to install an update. And when it does I'll get Error 1311 Source File Not found data1.cab
So why is this happening? Is it because I used a free download off the site and don't have the program on actual disc? There is troubleshooting tips that say uninstall it and all but is this worth doing. I don't want to get rid of it then have to buy it or something. But I am certain I got it off this site so not sure why it won't let me update?

How does one delete the installer cache files? I couldn't find them in 10.7.2 I IDID find Cache files in the Library, and deleted them all. Still broken.
My 10.1.1 installer from Adobe runs and immediatly stops about 40% of the way through, and then sits there. The last time I started the install before lunch, and after lunch the installer was in the exact same spot, but said it would take an hour and 45 min to install! I'm running OS 10.7.2 on a 2009 MBP.
    Update:
OK, I put Adobe Reader 9.4.6 back in my Applications folder. I open it up, and do "check for updates". It says I am up to date, and that there are no new updates.
The 10.1.1 installer I downloaded DIRECTLY by going to Adobe.com and following the links for my Mac. I even deleted the installer once and then redownloaded it just to make sure I had a good copy. This is the screen I get when I run the installer. It gets to this point in about 30 seconds, always between the "r"and "i" in scripts, and the time remaining just keeps going up. HELP!

    More information would be good.
What do you mean by "unable to read PDF's". How are you trying to read them and what exactly happens when you try?
so thought I would download the latest version of Adobe Reader.  It will not install.
    Again, what exactly is happening?
And yes, the latest version should be compatible with your OS.

You can also install it manually.
Be sure to have the latest download, then open the DMG file (should do so automatic) and grab the plug in file to drag it in the correct place.
    This is the path:
Library (That is on root level, not your user account library!) / Application Support/ Adobe? Plug-ins / CS4 / File Formats.
In this folder should only be one version present and it is called "Camera Raw.plugin" Under info it should say version 5.7.

I keep getting an error, and the Java Update will not install. What can I do?

Never mind. I kept trying, and finally when I opened "About This Mac" and clicked the software update from there (as opposed to the "Software Update" just below), the Java update finally worked.

    Q. Contribute  6.5 trial will not install, Mac 10.6.8 ASAdvisor indicates no issues

    Hi Dominic,
My problem is essentially as stated.
I down loaded a trial copy of Contribute 6.5 to my Mac which has 10.5.8
As this will not support Contribute 6.5 I transferred to download, to
    my laptop which has 10.6
It would not install. I wass advised to download Adobe Advisor, which
I did and it reported "no issues"
    How should I proceed?
    Thanks

  • Updates will not install using App Store on 10.7.5

Updates will not install using the App Store.  I am using a MacBook Pro on 10.7.5.  When I click the button labeled "update" in App Store, the little wheel in the upper left-hand corner continues to spin forever (I waited 12 hours one time) but nothing happens.  No updates will install.  My Macbook Pro has always operated without issues since I bought it new in 2009, and I have a reliable, fast internet connection.

    Let's try a test here.
Make a new User Account, and try to update from there.
