Adobe Security Settings

Hi,
Thanks for reading this. I have made and inserted a flash video onto a site I made in Dreamweaver. When I preview the site in a browser, the following message appears:
Adobe Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation on your computer or network:
C:\Users\Kimberley\Documents\Kimberley%20Gutterson\Scripts\expressInstall.swf
is trying to communicate with this Internet-enabled location:
fpdownload.macromedia.com
How do I adjust my security settings to ensure I can access the video on my site?
Thankyou

In your Flash Player Global Settings (Control Panel>View>Large Icons - click Flash Player),
Under the Advanced tab :
Click Trusted Location Settings
Click Add and browse to the file with the Flash Content in it. Select the Flash file, and click Confirm.
It shoud open (locally) without a warning, but you really should be testing it from the server.
As to the "grey and gone", that could be an issue with your <embed> code or the Flash Player plugin.

  • New CS5 Security Settings?

Hey there. I'm trying to load in some local files using a package called BulkLoader and I'm getting this error message:
[BulkLoader] Error loading LoadingItem url: dora.jpg, type:image, status: error Error #2142: Security sandbox violation: local SWF files cannot use the LoaderContext.securityDomain property. file:///C|/Projects/Rogers/community/Rogers.BBV.Web/f/hero.swf was attempting to load file:///C|/Projects/Rogers/community/Rogers.BBV.Web/f/dora.jpg.
Clearly, you can see these files are in the same directory, so there shouldn't be any problem loading these in. This is my first time using Flash CS5, is this a new thing in CS5? I've never had any problem loading local assets in the past. Is there a place to remove this setting?

I don't have CS5 yet, but the Adobe Security Settings Manager might help.

  • How to provide security settings for the adobe form using livecycleDesigner

    Hello,
I am very new to form designing,
can any one please tell me how to provide security settings for the adobe forms at client side?
    Regards,
    Menaka

    Hi,
that is a good topic for the ADFS forum.
    ADFS forum - http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/home?forum=Geneva
But you could pass the user-agent as incoming claim type Client User agent. User-agents can be manipulated, so if that is an issue you can look into Device Registration and the Device OS type from there. That is also a incoming claim but requires DRS and
DRS is not available for all plattforms.

  • Update security settings for adobe flash player

    I have windows 7, 64bit, adobe flash player 11.
Can't play You Tube videos...message say need to update flash player.
Went to adobe site....tried to download latest version 11.8, and message says I need to update security settings to allow.
I'm a beginner...where and how to update these settings.

Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by right clicking one of the following links.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Save the installer - DO NOT run it yet.
    Reboot your system.
BEFORE you open anything else, locate and run the installer you downloaded.

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 Security Settings

    Hi,
I'm new to this and will try to be to the point. I am currently running a form created in LiveCycle for the staff at my job. They are accessing the form through Reader 7, but when they click the "Email Submit Button" it is telling them the security settings do not allow the propertyy or method.
I went and checked the security settings and I have no security selected. I am not sure what I am doing wrong, or if this is just Reader not allowing the option at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
    -Ken

    Thanks Geo!
I tried "Enable Usage Rights" in Adobe Reader, but that didn't work either. Where can I find the "Extended Reader Forms Rights" option at?
I was thinking I might need LiveCycle ES, but I'm still holding out that I won't. Thanks again for the assist!

  • Why does it keep telling me that my security settings will not let the Adobe Reader download when I have them turned off?

I try to update the Adobe Reader and it will not let me.  I have turned the Norton Security off and it still tells me that my security settings will not allow it to download.  What can I do?

There's a little box that comes up on my computer after I try to update the Adobe Reader.  It says:  "Your current security settings will not allow this to download".  So I went into my Norton Security and disabled the antivirus program.  I don't even know if that was the "settings" that the message on my computer was meaning.  But what has happened is when I try to use the Adobe Reader XI that is on my computer, a little box comes up on my screen that says "Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded" and I'm unable to get Adobe to work.

  • I have paid for a year subscription, but all the PDF's I attempt to export to Word give me a "Conversion Error" message, citing that the "file's security settings do not allow export." I want a refund. Adobe, please advise. Thank you.

    Hi la recruiter,
There are a few types of files that Acrobat can't convert--and PDF files with security applied is one on them. I'm happy to cancel your subscription, if you decide that it's not going to work out for you. Please confirm that you'd like me to proceed with the cancelation, and I'll take care of it right away.
    Best,

  • Adobe Reader Security Settings menu item missing

On a user PC, under Adobe Reader XI (11.0.2), I am not finding the Security Setting Menu option. I searched for this, and I found out that it must be under "Edit/Protection".
    See snapshot below:
    Any idea ?
    Appreciate your help.
    Tarek.

    Thanks for the reply, Nikhil,
    Also, I found another issue.
After I managed to create the Signature using Windows Certificate Option, I tried to take a backup from the certificate store from Internet Options -> Content -> Certificate -> Export, then I am unable to export the Private Key. Only the public key option is available, and the other option "Yes, export the Private key" is dimmed or disabled.
Is this also new feature of Adobe Reader XI?
I am 100% sure that in other installations on another PC, after I create the Windows Certificate of the Digital Signature from Adobe Reader Security Settings, then I can take a backup of this certificate from Internet Options and I can select this option "Yes, export the Private key" during export of the certificate.
Appreciate your feedback on this matter.
    Tarek.

  • When previewing my website in Dreamweaver flash crashed - I need to change the security settings but don't know how to do this

I use Dreamweaver and Adobe Bridge to create slide shows on my website. When 'previewing' the slideshow - in Dreamweaver it opens Firefox - it crashed and the dialogue box opens telling me to change my 'settings' - it doesn't do this if I preview in IE - which I don't understand. I need help in knowing where to go to change the security settings so that this doesn't happen. Incidentally, when I am on the web through Firefox, my website slideshows work perfectly>

You can set the pref dom.ipc.plugins.timeoutSecs to to -1 on the about:config page to disable the timeout.
    See also http://kb.mozillazine.org/Plugin-container_and_out-of-process_plugins
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />

  • Security settings changing. Is there a work around?

    Hello,
I work for a "Company" that has ten's of thousands computers loaded with the latest version of Adobe Reader X. Unfortunately when we create a form in Adobe  Acrobat 9 Pro it cannot be signed by anyone using Adobe Reader X. Some how the security settings are changing when the form is open in Reader X. When the form is opened using Acrobat 9 Standard the form can be signed...the security settings have remain the same as when we built it in Pro. Is there a work around or something I have missed? This is a rather urgent issue as it will be effecting our whole "Company" and in the meantime we have been told to use another product until a solution is found. Your input is greatly appreciated!

The usage rights must be enabled in Acrobat Pro.

  • Security Settings in Robohelp 9 PDF files

I think this is a Robohelp problem because it only happens when I launch a PDF from  a Robohelp-generated site. It does NOT happen in Adobe Acrobat. It may be a conflict with Windows 7 - we just loaded it yesterday - because before that everything worked.
We created a PDF file with interactive fields, and NO security settings. The file has signature fields that populate with your digital ID when you click the red tag. It works just fine in Acrobat - you can type data into the fields, and the digital ID dialog launches when you click the red tag. If you click OK, the field displays your digital signature.
However, when I launch the file from online help I created with Robohelp 9, I get an error message stating that the security settings on the document don't allow adding text or placing a signature on it. I double checked, and there is NO security. See the attached images. Is this a bug? Should I report it?
    Thanks

    Hi there
I'm wondering if the following is happening to you.
When in Acrobat, you are viewing the document differently and able to make edits. When you are opening the PDF from RoboHelp (or more accurately, the browser) you are presenting it from the PDF reader and not Acrobat. Thus you have different capabiities.
    Cheers... Rick
